We just had a pizza delivered from Mr. Scrib's. I was told it would be delivered in 45 minutes to an hour. At one hour after I ordered, the delivery driver called to say she was at my front door, which is in Fruitport. She wasn't. She was at the same address in a Ferrysburg. I explained to her where I was. She said the pizza would be right over. 15 minutes later, a different driver called to say he was at our front door. He wasn't. He was at the same wrong location. I explained to him that he was in the wrong town and that this had just happened. He assured me he'd be right over and the pizza wouldn't be cold. 10 minutes later, he arrived with the pizza. Which, predictably, was stone cold. I called back to Mr. Scrib's. The manager told me she could come get this pizza and make me a new one and then deliver that one. So my family and I were supposed to wait another hour and a half for a pizza she couldn't get delivered properly the first time. I told her that it was way past our dinner time, so we would just like to reheat this very cold pizza and get a credit for a free one in the future. She told me if it was good enough to eat, she couldn't give me a credit. I told her it wasn't good enough to eat, I just didn't want peanut butter and jelly for dinner. She shouted something over me and then hung up on me. I love and have been eating Mr. Scrib's pizza my whole life, but I'll never eat at the Grand Haven location again. That was some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered. read more

Overrated! No flavor to the sauce, crust has no flavor, toppings are mediocre. The only people who like food with no robust flavor profiles or spice are the West Michigan Dutch. I'm assuming that's why it's still around. read more

Ordered pizza sub and shrimp mates. Both sucked! Sub had ground up bacon which was all fat! The sauce they use was raunchy. The mates were artificial ground up shrimp deep fried with no flavor and very dry. They shape them to look like shrimp with tails. The coke from the pop fountain was very watered down. And the outside temp was about 40 and no heat on inside! They are cheap people I guess! Never will go back. Terrible experience. read more

We moved here 16 years ago from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago and have been on a quest to find a pizza here that flavor wise reminded us of some of the places back home. There are a lot of pizza's available in the Grand Haven area that have very distinctive flavors. The chains are fast and cheap but aren't real pizza. What we found at Mr. Scrib's is a pizza that I just can't put my finger on but tastes comfortable. The toppings are fresh and flavorful. The sauce is lightly applied but it allows the ingredients flavors to shine and not smother. The crust is very basic but serves its purpose. Over all the pizza was addictive and enjoyable and we will definitely get pizza from here again in the future. read more

Love this pizza! It may be on the pricy side but by far it's on the yummy side. Our usual is a thin, with pepperoni, jalapeños, black olives & mushrooms. ordered a pizza for pickup tonight. Got it home only to find it was burned on top...more like toast! Multiple calls to complain and finally get thru to the manager who remembered the pizza 3 hours later and told me it wasn't burnt, "it was bubbled up' so they put extra pepperoni over it so " I would get my moneys worth" Recognized that it was a substandard pie and remembered it as such 3 hours later but still sent it out the door. His solution...get it out of the garbage, drive it back in, and they might make me another one "It's the owners policy" he said. Apparently it's the owners policy to sell defective pizza as well!!! We are visiting GH from Chicago, where we have a dozen pizza joints that are all pretty good. Now, Scribs was not our first choice but it was after 6 and the kids wanted pizza. We walked into this place and noticed some oddities-free coffee?? In a pizza joint? The menu was quite small nothing but pizzas and appetizers. The two women taking orders and calling them out work like office temps with bad attitudes. Terrible customer service people. We ordered two mediums and a 2liter of soda (no pitchers?) and began our wait. The cost? $35. About 30 minutes later, our name was called and one pizza was for dine in the other was wrapped ( carry out). Now to the quality. I read some reviews calling this the best pizza in Michigan. Which makes me chuckle. If this is your best, give up now. Chewy doughy crust, sauce non existent, one was burnt the other not done enough, and the grease was all over these pizzas-had to wipe it off with napkins. Awful quality. To the owners of this place, come to Chicago and bring some notepads. read more

Whenever I go back home to West Michigan, this is at the top of my "must eat at" list every time.

This is quite possibly the best pizza I have had in a long time! We ordered delivery and the pizza came on round cardboard pizza boards in paper bags. We ordered a large cheese and large pepperoni, they came thin crust (normally I have to ask for thin crust, so that was amazing). The sauce had a good tangy flavor with a hint of seasoning. We also ordered the wings, not sure what the flavor was because my husband ordered, they were really mild and tasted like fried chicken! They were delicious! Nothing like some good pizza and wings to start off your vacation proper! I would strongly recommend Mr. Scribs to anyone who likes thin crust, delicious pizza! read more

Went here for the first time last night. We had a short wait about 20 minutes but it is winter :) Really good thin crust. We got a 16' sausage and mushrooms very good. I'm not a big sausage person normally cause it makes it too greasy but here it was great. It was around $20 for a pop and large 2 topping not bad for a night out with the hubby :) read more

Mr. Scrib's pizza isn't too bad. A group of us ordered pizzas from here on Sat night because it was close to my friends house and since we were out and about we were happy to find that we could go through the drive thru to pick up our pizzas. The ingredients were fresh and tasty and it was a nice thin crust pizza although it would be soo much better if it were crispy! A wee little bit on the greasy side but that's just because of the cheese. I think I'm just spoiled because I live in Chicago. read more

The best pizza on the planet! I like the crust lightly baked, where it is kind of mushy and you can wrap it like a taco. The manager recommended the fully baked crust because it supposedly enhances the flavor, BUT I love the soft crust, so if you are into that sort of thing, ask them for a lightly baked crust. I have met 2 strangers at the Grand Haven location, who took an extra pizza with them on their way home out of state. I drive from Grand Rapids every 3 months for Mr. Scribbs. If the weather is anywhere near mild, I prefer to sit outside on the picnic tables, even though US 31 is only feet away from the picnic tables, I hear nothing as I makeup for the 3 months wait for this slice of heaven. You have to go downtown Grand Haven and walk off the pizza, possibly one of the best beach towns in Michigan. PP read more

Just like peeing on a electric fence to see if it was as bad as the first time, I returned for a second time. I have to say that my second visit was much better then my first, it's still not great pizza, but much improved. The restaurant was much cleaner than last time, The staff was more courteous and friendly, and the the pizza was better, skip the ham, it tastes like value time lunch meat. Thin crust pizzas not my favorite thing, it was OK, the cherry Coke was still as delicious as I remember. My boy he thoroughly enjoyed the breading and A1 steak sauce from the steak nuggets, he just didn't enjoy the steak very much it was kind a hard. read more

The pizza would be great if it could arrive hot and within a reasonable time. It took almost an hour and a half for 1 large pizza at $26+. We live about a mile and a half from the place. It was such a let down. I doubt I would order again from Mr Scrib's in Grand Haven. read more

Best pizza in Grand Haven! The only thing I don't like is they offer Heinz pizza sauce for dipping rather than their own sauce.

The pizza sub was the worst sub I've ever had! One corner was burnt and the remainder wasn't even toasted. That was just the beginning though, when I took a bite....yuck! The flavor from the bun to the filling was awful! This was supposed to be my dinner and I'd rather go hungry. My hubbies was burnt black all the way down one side! Wanted to try Mr. Scripps pizza heard it tastes amazing when we went in there with their new mover coupon under welcome wagon app we just moved into Grandhaven they wouldn't except it they said we had to have something on paper even though it clearly says on the app show they wouldn't honor it it was very poor customer service the lady said there was nothing she could do to help us and her manager wouldn't except the welcome wagon app then why are they even part of it horrible! read more

Ordered shrimp and perch dinner to go. Got it home no tartar or shrimp sause.Ok no big deal but same as last time. the perch and shrimp were over done as where the onion rings and fries. This is the second try with them on seafood. The moral of story if you go there stick with pizza. read more
