The guy working was very helpful and took the time to explain the dishes to us in the Buffett. We opted for the Buffett today (only runs fri-sun) and while I would love to tell you everything we had, I'd be lying if I said I remembered all the names of the dishes. But trust me when I say the food was fresh, hot and lots of variety. Started off with some hummus, salad, pasta salad, and some other cold sides that I forget the name. The pasta salad was fine, but def okay to skip and stick to the other sides to which you won't be disappointed! The pita was also fresh and so good! Some of the stand outs for the main dishes I LOVED the mushroom beef dish and the chicken I got was so tender it was FALL OFF THE BONE! Also their spaghetti (reminded me more of a Mac and cheese) was so creamy and packed with flavor along with corn and mushrooms. Sounds wild, but trust me - so good! It was overwhelming trying to decide what to get next and making sure I didn't over do it too much so I could try everything! Again I know this isn't the best since I don't know all the names and I have no pictures (I ate too quickly and then realized after the fact and didn't think empty/dirty dishes would be appealing). Just trust me when I say the buffet is worth it. I then had the baklava for dessert and that was also good! We can't wait to come back and order from the menu. Looking to try gyro for sure next time! Also the grocery side is great and has a lot of items and candies to choose from. Definitely a place you'll visit and not leave empty handed or hungry!

Mostly it's because Yelp doesn't do halfsies or fractions, so I'm rounding up to four stars. The baba ganoush was amazing, though. I could literally eat Mediterranean and/or Middle Eastern food every day, and mostly it's because of baba ganoush and flatbread. That eggplant dip is one of my favorite foods in this world. Mama Saaj has some great baba ganoush and decent pita to go along with it. I also got a side of falafel, which came with a little container of tahini. The falafel were just OK. They were dry, which was a shame. Perhaps they were fried a touch too long. But I made baba ganoush tacos with my falafel by wrapping everything up in a pita triangle. With a little baba ganoush to hydrate them, the falafel were pretty decent. The service was good, but I had to ask for a plate, even though homie saw me fighting for my life with a napkin as my makeshift plate. It's all good though, because he seemed friendly. Mama Saaj is located inside Saraga, and it's one of the few restaraunts in the market. There are lots of tables at which to sit, or you can easily get your food to go.

The gentleman who helped us out was super friendly and helpful. When I mentioned some of the things I like, he suggested the gyros plate which comes with salad, rice, pita bread, and hummus. The hummus might be the best I've ever had. My SO had a beef shawarma sandwich with yellow rice. Delicious. Everything was delicious. I love the combination of flavors. The gyros meat was tender and amazing. For dessert, we had the best baklava ever. Seriously. The layers were perfect. It was sweetened perfectly. It was the first visit by my SO who was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the delicious taste and great service. I wish I lived closer to this place but am glad the great restaurant is still great after all these years.

Requesting something other than pizza and burgers is a big deal! I ordered the beef shawarma and the chicken shawarma, just so we could try both. Both looked like a burrito, which is familiar to my kids, so they went with it. We liked the beef, but the chicken shawarma was mind-blowing, and we will definitely be ordering this again. You can get the shawarma by itself or as a meal, which means it comes with fries. I also got the gyro, which comes with sliced beef and lamb, yellow rice, hummus, salad, tzatziki and pita. Because we got our food to go, the pita came separate from everything else, and I had to assemble my gyro myself like a little taco. It was delicious, but so much food! Honestly, the gyro plate can feed two people easily. Because I can't pass up a baba ganoush, I ordered a small one. They have some excellent baba ganoush at Sahara! I think this might even be my baba ganoush go-to now. Ordering online is very easy, and my food was ready to be picked up even before it was supposed to be. The only thing is that Sahara is located on the Broad Ripple strip, so parking can be iffy. I didn't find any parking in front of the restaurant, so I had to circle the block a bit before I found a spot.

Everything was very fresh, and they had a great variety to choose from (do you want a bowl, stuffed pita, salad, or platter?) As a disciple of the Church of Latter Day Soup, having any Savory Cereal options on the menu is a big win for me, and being able to get it as a side at no additional charge is like magic these days. I got the lentil soup with my wrap and it was delicious, light, well flavored, and a good size. They had a stuffed wrap lunch deal with fries (or soup) and a drink for $10, and provided a massive pita for the price. I got the chicken shawarma with all the veggies they had and was not a bit disappointed. Ambience was also really nice! Very "cafe" feeling, but clean inside and out.

I skipped the garlic sauce after learning it contains mayo. Traditionally, it doesn't, so I'm glad I asked before ordering. The couscous was perfectly prepared, and the chopped salad was incredibly light and fresh. I could have eaten an entire bowl of it. The cilantro really makes the flavors pop. Bonus points for having Seagram's Ginger Ale in the fountain! IYKYK I was excited to see it, although the syrup had run out when I first tried it, leaving me with soda water. Fortunately, the issue was fixed quickly. My tip: ask for your chicken to be cooked fresh. The pre-prepared chicken I sampled was a bit hard and chewy, so I'm very glad I asked to taste it first. All the steak is prepared fresh, so no special request needed. It was surprisingly quiet inside, making it a great spot to work remotely, catch up with a friend, or simply enjoy a peaceful meal without distractions. I'll definitely be back very soon!

What a unique restaurant that checks all of the boxes for me: a creative menu, delicious food, fast and attentive but not obtrusive service, and a relaxing and nicely decorated dining room (with music, but not at all loud!). Kanoon specializes in slow-cooked smoked meats, but they also have a lot of vegetarian offerings. There's something for all eaters here. But I wasn't here to eat vegetarian: They have the meats, and I was here for the meats. I got the Kanoon Grilled Chicken Platter, which is marinated grilled chicken served over rice and drizzled with boom sauce (like a mayo-based sweet and spicy chili sauce). Think arroz con pollo, but with a Middle Eastern flair. It was amazing. The chicken is so juicy and tender that I could smash it down with my fork and it almost disintegrated. And the rice was perfectly cooked and just slightly spicy. This dish is a big portion. I couldn't finish it, so I took the rest home to eat for dinner. I'm not a leftovers eater, so you have to know that if I take food home to eat later, it has to be spectacular. And guess what: It tastes just as great reheated! We also got the Smoked Brisket Prime Beef, which comes with a side (get the bulgur wheat!). The beef was very tender and melt-in-your-mouth, and was served in slices and ate a little like pot roast. No shade, though -- it was superb. The brisket comes with two sauces: a chimichurri and a red sauce that I couldn't identify. I saw baba ganouj on the menu, and I had to get it! I am a big baba ganouj fan. This one comes with a basket of warm pita. It was good, but maybe not my favorite thing I ate here. I'm glad I tried it, though. The service is great and fast. We ordered right away and our food came out at a decent time, and we wanted for nothing.
