This place is SO delicious and a such a gem in Carmel. I was craving falafel and dolma and just looked up options on Yelp -- so glad that this was the choice! The service was quick, the food was incredibly fresh, and it was clean and cozy. The hummus was beautiful, the tatziki was delicious, the pita was FRESH! The thoum wasn't as garlicky as I like, but I also understand catering to the general populous. The falafel was perfectly fried, the dolma were so beautiful and sprinkled with sumac which was the perfect addition! So if anyone is like me, you go to certain places because you know you can get the same thing, exactly the way you want. However, here at Papa Fattoush, almost every time I order it is different. For instance, today was very disappointing as the only thing on my chicken Shawarma was lettuce and tomato, and even that was very minimal. Usually it comes with some sort of sauce and pickles of some sort. So it was very disappointing because there was absolutely no flavor. I could've made this at home. And their fries are normally the best I have found, but today they apparently switched to a crinkle cut french fry, which aren't good. Went in during Artmobilia for lunch on September 6th, we waited over an hour for our food, it was then when I came up and ask what was going on with our order. It was then they said they were out of gyro meat, and they just figured since we weren't bothering them about our order that we could wait until everyone's orders were complete before we got our food. Other orders got gyro meat before us, and we didn't get gyro meat for our meals even though we ordered it well before others did. I was hurt that they didn't provide service in the order that the orders were taken. And we got punished for it. Food was ok, but service was unforgivable, will never be going back here again stay away if you want your food on time. I was thinking of catering my wedding through this place but certainly not anymore. There are plenty of other better Greek places in the area. read more

What a fantastic experience! I used to live in Greek Astoria in New York, so I'm always excited to find a great Greek place. Papa Fattoush isn't fancy, but darn is it tasty. You can pick a salad or fries. The Greek salad is huge! I can't believe it came as the side and my meal was only $8.95. The photos of people's salad do not do justice to the size. I thought the food was great but honestly didn't seem all that spicy for the meat. I also ordered a Turkish coffee. I guess i was a little surprised for how small it was for the price. If I'm back in the neighborhood I'll get the gyro and salad again! They have warm tea for free while waiting which is nice. I had the gyro platter with the Greek salad on the side & the salad itself was awesome. The gyro meat was moist & plentiful. The portions are huge, make sure you bring an appetite. I'm always down for Greek food! We stopped in for the first time a few weeks ago and got shawarma sandwiches in pita. They came with a great garlic sauce and vegetables. I also got a side Greek salad and my husband got fries. There was a couple seats inside and a few outdoor cafe tables, but we walked over to the Monon to eat on a bench while we watched all the cute dogs walk by. We both loved the shawarma sandwiches and I loved the Greek salad too. The fries were the only part that weren't good. They were crinkle fries that stuck together but were also a bit soggy. They could definitely benefit by making their fries crispier and fresher. They were busy on the Saturday we were there, so I hope they do well! I stopped in here to introduce my niece to Greek food. We ordered all of the things! Spanikopita, falafel, dolmas, a gyro, and a gyro salad. She's 9 and way more adventurous than I ever was at her age. She loved it all. I was shocked that she even loved the dolmas! We had some leftovers and she gobbled them up first thing the following morning. They were busy with take out orders on too of being a beautiful Saturday afternoon, so it did take some time to get our food, but we understood. The service was friendly and efficient. The portion was very generous, so generous in fact, that I had to eat the sandwich with a fork and knife because the toppings kept falling out when I tried to eat it like a sandwich. Thoughtful takeout packaging with the cold salad separate from the hot food. Spanikopita: 6.5/10 definitely have had better, this was lacking phyllo and missing that golden brown crunchiness. Portion was also smaller than expected, two triangles. Falafel plate: 8.5/10 flavorful, just a bit dry. They were generous with the tzatziki and that made this. Fries were yummy, the bartered kind so really crunchy. Hummus and pita: 10/10 so creamy, sprinkled with olive oil and sumac, perfect! Pita is more like a flatbread and doesn't really open up like a pocket, which I prefer anyway. Seating for dine in is pretty limited. We got takeout so can't speak much to the service. Papa Fattoush is located in the heart of the Main Street action in downtown Carmel. The menu offers a variety of Turkish/Middle Eastern classics like baba ganoush, tabbouleh, hummus, falafel, baklava, and so on. I opted for the chicken gyro platter that came with rice, salad and fries. The reviews raved about the baba so I couldn't pass ordering that up either. So glad I did! The smoky and chunky baba ganoush was the star of the show. The other eats were delicious as well. My only complaints would be that the fries were fairly cold (which was a shame because you could tell they were probably great originally) and that the service wasn't very warm either. read more
