    Chicken Schwarma Sandwich

This place is SO delicious and a such a gem in Carmel. I was craving falafel and dolma and just looked up options on Yelp -- so glad that this was the choice! The service was quick, the food was incredibly fresh, and it was clean and cozy. The hummus was beautiful, the tatziki was delicious, the pita was FRESH! The thoum wasn't as garlicky as I like, but I also understand catering to the general populous. The falafel was perfectly fried, the dolma were so beautiful and sprinkled with sumac which was the perfect addition! My dining partner ordered a schwarma sandwich and said it was "incredible!" and super juicy. Will definetly be putting this into the rotation!

Gyro and Greek salad! Yum! Great sauces!

Food was great! Prices were good! Small seating but great for carry out! The meat was plenty and tender... sliced thin with great fresh veggies! Salad had a tasty dressing with olives, cheese, tomato onion and more!

Delicious and authentic Mediterranean food in the heart of Carmel! Everything here is so affordable and so fresh too. We came in with a large group and ordered the family platter. This is more of a take-out or casual dining place (you'll be eating on paper plates and with plastic forks if you dine in), but the workers were really nice and patient in making sure we had everything we needed while dining in. The platter came with hummus and pita bread and it was so so good! It also came with a salad and fries, and the platter itself was full of so many types of meat! Chicken, lamb, and kafta kabobs all served over this amazing yellow rice! Huge portions for a reasonable price and really tasty food. Loved it!

    Just say yes to meat!

If you're looking to get the meat sweats, come to Papa Fattoush! They hook it up with portions of meat and couldn't have asked for a better experience. It doesn't look like much but this place delivered (ok not literally, we ate there). The menu is small but the plate of food was huge. I got the gyro meat with rice and salad and a side of hummus and baklava. It took a little bit to get the food but well worth the wait. The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned and I loved the hummus. Smooth, nutty and exactly what I was looking for. I had enough for two meals so my buck definitely went further than I expected here.

Great little Mediterranean spot in downtown Carmel. This is a small counter service restaurant but the food is absolutely delicious. The pita's served with the hummus were so soft and delicious. And they put a very generous amount of meat inside the gyro, everything was cooked fresh and served hot!

Went for a 22 mile bike ride over the weekend and stopped at this spot for a bite before noon. My partner and I were the ones eating inside but it's clear they had placing orders for pick-up. We ordered the kofta sandwich with a side salad. Our order came out after just a short wait and the food was yummy. No complaints for this price point - no leftovers! That's a good thing, trust me!! This spot is small, no frills but clean - heck, even the bathroom was clean. This makes us happy because the same can't always be said for a lot fancier places. Overall, we wouldn't mind visiting. This place again for a yummy and inexpensive meal around Carmel. Thumbs up!

It doesn't look like much from the street, but papa fattoush knocks it out of the park. We ordered the gyro sandwich and the chicken shawarma salad and holy cow were we impressed. Both dishes were delicious and the portions are HUGE. The side salads came loaded with toppings and the sauces (garlic & tzatziki) placed on the side were addicting. Service was great - they walked us through the menu and brought our food to us outside at the handful of tables lined along Main Street. I've got my eye on the falafel for my next visit!

Food and service were amazing. Prices are very reasonable for good size potions. Highly recommend.

Yet another reason to be a fan of Papa Fattoush!!1!11!!!! I came here with my momma and daddy-o. We had a lovely summer night stroll through downtown Carmel with smiles plastered on our faces because we knew the devilous delicious morsels that were about to enter our "bodies". The lady and I split a gyro and fries while my moms husband who also gave birth to me and is my father got the mezze platter. We sat on the street and talked and watched some NPCs walk by while we waiting for our food. Ok real talk. It got pretty disgusting. I didn't realize how hungry my girl body was! When my gyro got to my table I went absolutely ballistic baby... while my gracious lady trained momma ate her sandwich with a fork and knife. Either way us girls were as happy as clams.

What a fantastic experience! I used to live in Greek Astoria in New York, so I'm always excited to find a great Greek place. Papa Fattoush isn't fancy, but darn is it tasty. We ordered falafel and shawarma sandwiches and everyone was very happy with what they got. The indoor dining space is small, but clean and inviting. And the outdoor tables are very nicely facing a great part of downtown Carmel. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the mood for great Mediterranean food in Carmel!

I was in the area and looked up on Yelp to see where I should pick up lunch before heading into the office. I saw a photo of the gyro and was sold! I went with the spicy gyro sandwich and the salad. You can pick a salad or fries. The Greek salad is huge! I can't believe it came as the side and my meal was only $8.95. The photos of people's salad do not do justice to the size. I thought the food was great but honestly didn't seem all that spicy for the meat. I also ordered a Turkish coffee. I guess i was a little surprised for how small it was for the price. If I'm back in the neighborhood I'll get the gyro and salad again! They have warm tea for free while waiting which is nice. Plenty of hand sanitizer available throughout the restaurant as well.

Outstanding food. Not a fancy place--quite small; order at the counter; disposable plates; no soda fountain--but the food is terrific.

But I needed something different, because the Greek food scene here just hasn't hit the same for me after growing up around Chicago and living on both the East and West Coast. This place was exactly the kind of spot I was hoping to find. First off, the owner is an older gentleman and he's awesome. I ordered, stood at the register waiting to pay, and when he came back he asked if I needed anything else. I told him, "I need to pay," and he just goes, "No, you pay after you eat. Don't worry about it." You don't find many places like that anymore. The gyro itself was packed to the absolute brim. Honestly, it could easily be two meals. The meat had great flavor, the pita was fresh and flaky, and everything worked perfectly with the tzatziki, feta, lettuce, and tomato. The place itself is simple when you walk in. Nothing flashy, nothing overdone. But between the owner, the regulars, and the overall feel of it, it almost feels like you're sitting in someone's home you grew up in. Comfortable, welcoming, and real. Definitely a must-try. The gyro gets a solid 8.1/10 from me.

The guy working was very helpful and took the time to explain the dishes to us in the Buffett. We opted for the Buffett today (only runs fri-sun) and while I would love to tell you everything we had, I'd be lying if I said I remembered all the names of the dishes. But trust me when I say the food was fresh, hot and lots of variety. Started off with some hummus, salad, pasta salad, and some other cold sides that I forget the name. The pasta salad was fine, but def okay to skip and stick to the other sides to which you won't be disappointed! The pita was also fresh and so good! Some of the stand outs for the main dishes I LOVED the mushroom beef dish and the chicken I got was so tender it was FALL OFF THE BONE! Also their spaghetti (reminded me more of a Mac and cheese) was so creamy and packed with flavor along with corn and mushrooms. Sounds wild, but trust me - so good! It was overwhelming trying to decide what to get next and making sure I didn't over do it too much so I could try everything! Again I know this isn't the best since I don't know all the names and I have no pictures (I ate too quickly and then realized after the fact and didn't think empty/dirty dishes would be appealing). Just trust me when I say the buffet is worth it. I then had the baklava for dessert and that was also good! We can't wait to come back and order from the menu. Looking to try gyro for sure next time! Also the grocery side is great and has a lot of items and candies to choose from. Definitely a place you'll visit and not leave empty handed or hungry!

When we arrived, the place was empty. We weren't even sure that they were open until we saw the kitchen staff behind the line. Upon entering, I saw a kiosk where you can place your order, but a woman emerged from the back to take our orders. Being that we weren't familiar with the menu, I told her that the kiosk might be easier. She insisted that it wasn't, and as I went on, I realized the same. The kiosk states that there is a $1.25 charge for the sauce on the side, but she explained that it comes with one sauce free of charge and additional sauces cost extra. We placed our order with her: A small Italian salad to share, the Fatty B calzone with the spicy marinara sauce and the Hot Mother Clucker calzone with the chipotle garlic ranch. We ordered them with the suggested sauces but also order the regular marinara and the garlic sauces on the side. We were given glasses for water (self-serve from the soda fountain) and also ordered a bottled beer and canned cider. By the time we were done ordering, a line had formed. The store was understaffed, which was explained to us later, so we had to exercise patience. We didn't receive our beverages until after the calzones were delivered. Before that, we received our rather large, small salad. It was more than enough for two people. The woman had explained to us that it comes with 4 cups of lettuce plus the toppings. That information helped us make our decision to share. The space is large and we noticed cornhole boards to be used on the patio. Unfortunately, it was raining when we went, otherwise we would have played. The calzones were good and filling. Neither of us finished ours and had food to enjoy at home later that evening. The Hot Mother Clucker isn't very pizza-esque, but dipping it into marinara sort of brought it back into the fold. The suggested chipotle garlic ranch was a better pairing indeed. The salad bowl/plate is oddly shaped, which caused toppings to being spilling off the sides. When it was brought to our table, the woman tried saving the toppings by wedging them between the order slip and her fingers and dumping them back onto our plate. I stopped her. I wasn't trying to be rude, but I don't want to eat food that a stranger's hands have touched. I explained this to her. She tried to assure us that she washes her hands constantly throughout the day, but she'd just come over from the register without a handwashing break. Just let the toppings fall where they may! Let's keep it hygienic.
