They did a complete electrical upgrade for cost of $38k. They were great at first then it got bad. Left me with a new panel with no cover/door and numerous plus and switches without plate covers. I had Sparky come out to correct a smoke detector issue...Bipping. They proceeded to evaluate my home and determined the electrical control panel should be replaced for $15,000! I said no and after an hour they finally gave me an estimate of $1000 to replace 4 smoke detectors. They are only interested in "Up Selling" and over pricing what they do. I fixed the smoke detector by replacing the battery which they refused to do. Strongly recommending to stay away from this company for anything because their pricing is about 4 times what it should be. read more

Had Mister Sparky come to our house to fix an outlet that stopped working. A person named Daniel came out. He went through the entire house for over 3 hours and reviewed items we did not ask about. He said our fuze panel box needed to be replaced as it was subject to a recall. Also he said all our smoke detectors needed to be replaced and we needed a new CO2 monitor installed. He wanted $1800 just to fix the broken outlet and $13,000 more to fix the other items. I researched the recall and out fuze box panel was NOT subject to it. It was made and installed much earlier then the panels affected. This is something that the electrician could have easily verified. In fact he told me wife that the company behind the recall, Schneider electric, was no longer available to fix that issue and not to bother calling them. But I did call them and Schneider electric does still handle this recall and that is how I found out my panel is not subject to it. I wish so much that I knew about Mister Sparky's incredibly bad customer service. The electrician they sent out just tried to upsell us on everything and tried to fear monger us into spending almost $15,000. DO NOT use Mister Sparky. read more

Told him I rented to house, he told me he liked to be thorough and to give it to Invitation Homes. At one point he wanted to bring the breaker box from outside the house inside the garage. Our fire alarms went off on a recent weeknight around 2am... Needless to say, my family was delirious during that time and despite his best efforts, my husband couldn't figure out a solution to get them to turn off. The fire department came and confirmed we didn't have any kind of active fire and that it was just an alarm malfunction... and an hour later, after they left, the alarms went off again and wouldn't stop until we literally pulled them all from the ceiling! During that time, I was panicked and did a quick online search and called a number to see if we could get an electrician out immediately. The number I called ended up being for Mr Sparky. They said they could send someone out immediately for a fee and just as I was about to agree, we got the alarms to stop. So instead, I worked with them to send an electrician out the next day... Well the next day, I received a phone call that said that the electrician was not available and we rescheduled for the following day. The next day, the electrician came as planned, and I did get a text confirmation prior along with a photo of the electrician, which I was impressed with. The electrician confirmed that we needed to replace all of our fire alarms and quoted us $1900 to do so. My husband then looked into pricing to make this happen on his own and with a handyman and ended up replacing the fire alarms for $600, a $1300 savings! So... all of this to say that we did have an OK experience with this company but beware of their insanely high pricing if you do hire them! read more

I am so not pleased with the way these people do business. I authorized them $29 to come do an estimate based on a list of items noted by an inspector as part of the sale of my house. I gave them access to my house since I have already moved out of state All was set...so I thought. The next day (which was the day scheduled for the estimate), I never heard anything until I received an email with the invoice and they had charged me $688 for work that was neither authorized by me (remember, I was just looking for an estimate) nor on the list to be addressed. I finally got a hold of the electrician at the end of the day who admitted he had made a mistake, had spoken with the manager and I would be refunded my money. A weak later, I still did not see my refund. After three days of attempting to speak with the right person, I finally spoke to a manager. We argued for sometime about the situation. He finally relented and was "pleased" to refund my money but insisted that he return to the house to undo the work and retrieve the parts he installed claiming he was not going to work for free (I did not even give him permission to work: free or paid). I finally relented. He did not call when he said he would or send pictures as promised. Instead, he called my real estate agent who, said she just ignored the calls since she did not know what was going on. Yes, finally I got my money back. I have an older house with aluminum wiring, and as soon as he saw that, he would not drop the idea of selling me a whole house rewiring, quoted me $43k by the way. All I needed was him to run a new wire from my breaker to oven outlet, and he still quoted me a ridiculous $3400 to run wire about 15ft. I got three text reminders from Mr. Sparky over a few days one asking me to reply to confirm which I did. Today at the time they were supposed to show up to install a simple outlet in the bathroom for a smart toilet they texted me to reschedule TWO WEEKS FROM NOW. Requested someone come out to install my Tesla charger in our new home in an "active adult community" which was undergoing a remodel. 1.5 hours after the appointment time, they called to say they needed to reschedule for the next day. Okay, stuff happens. The next day, a guy shows up barely within the two hour time frame and is completely unprepared for the job. I had to leave for an appointment so I asked that he get back to me with a quote for the Tesla charger installation. Instead, he went into my home during our remodel, ordered my contractors around telling them I had told him to conduct a "safety inspection". I did NO SUCH THING! He then sent me four quotes for ridiculous items we never discussed and that weren't needed. One was for over $18,000. My general contractor is also a licensed electrician and told me the whole thing was a scam to take advantage of seniors by scaring them into unnecessary work on their homes. He said he knew of two of my neighbors who had fallen victim to the same scam by the same guy. I would NEVER use this company! read more

They knew that even if they had marked up their product three fold, the most I should have paid was at the maximum $400. I would have happily paid that even though that was extortion. However their response to my dissatisfaction was to do zero! I am disgusted that pigs like this exist!!! I hired Mr. Sparky to repair a loose chandelier. They came on a Wednesday, gave a quote, and including a "special ladder." He returned Friday and removed the chandelier but said the beams were more than 24" apart, and he would "need to make some calls." Tuesday, I called because I hadn't heard anything. I was informed I had an appointment on Thursday (news to me). Thursday, he was a no-show. I called and was informed it was rescheduled to Friday, and someone had tried calling (no, they hadn't). Friday (you guessed it) no-show. I called and was told the appointment had been rescheduled for Monday. I told them if they stood me up again, they were fired. No-show. I called for an exterior outlet install and a whole house power surge protector, and ended up with a new electrical panel and PSP for $6000 including the 1outlet and excluding panel disconnect, which they did not know was code for my area and had to then install for free (ha!). If they hand you a tablet to sign with complicated estimates and "discounts," say you'll think about it and find another company. The apprentice electrician told me he spent two days a week being trained in sales. You'd think if they spent the two days in actual electrical training and ethical customer service, they wouldn't have to use high-pressure sales and switch and bait tactics. A few months ago I wrote a raving review for Mr Sparky. We had an electrical issue that could have been a very serious issue. They came out right away and assessed the problem. Within a couple of days, we had everything fixed. The cost was high, but we felt we didn't have time to check around as we kept smelling burning wires and obviously did not want our house burning down. The techs were all great, and seemed quite knowledgeable. So why my low rating now? Their financing is HORRID! The people you deal with when calling, although are quite nice, they couldn't always answer the questions. Also, many of them were very hard to understand due to their accents. Now for what really has me livid is I made two extra payments, with the intent of paying off early. Come to find out, my extra payments did not go to principal only, they went to principal and interest! Without further detail, my original bill was $13,970. On Monday, 8/4/2025, Daniel came to give us a quote on installing a ceiling fan we had purchased. It was to replace a can light in our entryway. First, he was to arrive between 2:00 & 4:00 p.m. He arrived around 4:15. After 4 hours of inspecting this & that, he has four options ready for us, all of which included their $99 service plan. The first option was to replace our existing breaker box and move the location, install 4 hard wired smoke detectors, install a light at the bottom of the stairs to the basement (we had to provide the light fixture), and of course install the ceiling fan ($400+ for the fan installation and $400+ for the box to hang it on) for a total of $40,000+. The lowest option was well over $1,000 and just included 2 hard wired smoke detectors and the ceiling fan. We asked that he email all the options so we could look them over and make an informed decision. All we received was the safety inspection report. Definitely not hiring this company. read more

Predatory salesman, Con artists! My girlfriend bought a new ceiling fan and wanted it installed by an electrician. I took the day off to let the tech do the fan. Ean from Mr. Sparky came to the door. I got the vibe he wasn't happy that he was greeted by a 6 foot tall man. I showed him the fan to be replaced. Ean took a picture of the existing fan. He told me he would check the wires and went outside. After several minutes, I went outside to check on him. HE HAD DISASSEMBLED THE BREAKER BOX. (WTF) More bad vibes. I asked him to put it back together and give me a quote for the FAN. He came into the house and showed me pictures of the breaker box, claiming that there was corrosion and offered me packages 1-3. He said I needed a breaker box refresh for $2000. (WTF) I again asked him to switch the fan. I was quoted $320 for the fan install, but he would have to get another technician to come out. He was the salesman, not a repairman? He left without doing anything. I replaced the fan myself. Took 1 hour and a screw driver. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Turned out to be a puzzle , and this guy, with nerves of steal , didn't let nothing phase him, like no panic . He took control of the situation did his checks and in about an hour and a half fix two issues . I had an electrician over on the same job that charged me 134.00 and didn't fix anything cause he said it was a wiring issue turns out it was a breaker on the stove and a wire that wasn't connected outside leaving my back wall out of power . Between 2 hours , Ashton had both items fixed up and running . It cost me 384. 00 but I would pay it 10 times over because I was not only impressed at the speed and knowledge he showed , but the courtesy and down to earth personality and attitude he showed . I will be requesting Ashton Fleming for all my electrical needs , and calling the company MR. Sparky because they get the job done by hiring the right people to do the job . If they are not , they should be number 1 in the business , and Mr. Ashton Fleming is a 1ST CLASS ELECTRICIAN . I just hate I didn think to tip him cause he deserved it . Similar to another reviewer's experience, we only needed a couple ceiling fans we had purchased to be installed to replace existing ones, two bathroom fans hooked to existing switches and one outlet installed. After a whole house inspection by a high pressure salesman, we were told we needed to have all outlets in kitchen, bathrooms and laundry replaced with GFCI outlets and we needed a whole house surge protector among a list of other things that needed to be done to keep our children (college students who would living in the house) safe. Total $9000, and were given options 1, 2, and 3 to choose from, but told we really needed most expensive option to protect their appliances and electronics. We fell for it since we live over 2 hours away and wanted to make sure they were taken care of. Forward 6 months to their follow up inspection. Now they say none of the outlets or switches are grounded and will need ground wires and some metal things in our outside box are not shiny anymore and need replacing. Again we get options 1, 2 and 3 for the work they say needs to be done. After some research, on our own, we find out the whole house surge protector they insisted we needed at first visit, an had installed, does not work if outlets aren't grounded. They just talked in circles when they were called out on it. They are worse than car salesmen. They prey on people who are scared of electrical work and are trusting them to do jobs they are not confident enough to do on their own. They take this opportunity to scare them into purchasing other work that isn't necessary, is overpriced, and done sloppily needing caulking to fill gaps left around installation areas.
