IMO, this is a hipper, nicer, cleaner, and friendlier staffed version of Tastee's. They use boar's head meat and cheese, the bread is very soft (which is how I like my sandwich bread), and the ingredients all taste great. I got an Italian sub and my fiance got a cheese sub, we were both supremely pleased with our food! They're half runs 8" (compared to the standard 6"), and whole I think is 14" but I'm not sure since we just got halves. Oh, and they even do hot subs, something Tastee's (in my mind their top competitor and probably what they based themselves off of) does not do. Growing up in the Freehold area, no one could ever match Sorrento's Subs. That being said, Mr. Subs rules Cranbury/Monroe and probably every other town where they have a store. These are great subs in a nice eating environment with great staff. I had a honey turkey sub and adored it. Great bread, ample portion of delicious honey turkey and very fresh veggies to top it off. I come to this spot regularly. Usually for the egg, cheese, pork roll breakfast sandwich. Its Absolutely delcious and they are not stingy with the meat. I've tried the chicken cheese steak and its actually pretty good. I have also gotten a Turkey sub w/ everything no cheese (onion, lettuce, tomato, oil, vinegar, and oregano) Typically people take the food on the go, but on occasion I've sat with friends and eaten the food there. The bread they use is always fresh and tastey. There is a variety of sandwiches that you couls choose from and they usually have specials to choose from. Great Subs! I had seen the grand opening sign from the road so I decided to give it a try that weekend. My girlfriend and I shared an Italian sub. we both agreed it was really good. The bread was fresh and soft. The meat is great, I'm pretty sure they use Boars Head brand meats. nice decor and the staff was very friendly. And best of all...The price was great! They also have hot sandwiches and I think I saw a few tables/ chairs to dine in as well. I see this place being a hit as long as people know they are there. I'm not sure if they have delivery or not. We are a faithful customer of Mr. Subs Cranbury since the day they opened ordering on average 3 times per week - never delivery always pick up since we are very close by. The meat is Boar's Head, Bread is Fresh, location is clean and normally their customer service is excellent. But for the first time ever, my experience left much to be desired, Today we ordered one of our smallest orders ever - a plain cheesesteak and a 1/2 Italian Sub. When I picked up they gave me one correct sandwich and one sandwich was wrong. When I called advised and this happened they said I could pick up a new sandwich or they would give me a credit for tomorrow. I advised there was no way I could leave the office again could they deliver I was told they could not (this is a shop that advertises delivery). There is only ONE REASON why I am giving them 3 stars instead of 5. Some people won't care about this, but I do. COVID-19 is a real concern for some people because of high risk family members. These guys are only half-wearing their masks. They are not covering their nose. The subs are awesome here, but I walked in and walked right out after I saw this. It's not too hard to pull your mask up! Sorry, my health and my family's health is more important than getting a sub for lunch. My wife is a medical professional and has to wear far more repressive PPE for 8-10 hours a day... they can get on board and do the right thing. As for the food - gotta say, best subs in the area, especially their hot specials. So if the mask thing doesn't bother you - stop in. You won't be disappointed. I ordered an Italian sub with extra oregano, salt, pepper, lettuce hot peppers, and etc. I got none of the extra that I ordered and my boyfriend got my extra salt, pepper, and hot peppers in his sandwich. Also he just had a thin layer of meat with my extra pepper, salt, and hot peppers in his sandwich. No lettuce, no tomatoes--nothing else was in his sandwich. The bread and ingredients on my sandwich were incredibly fresh. I like the idea of having my lunch meat cut in front of me, and placed directly onto my sandwich. Produce was crisp and tasty. Grand opening had lines out the door so I stopped by to see what it was all about. First thing you notice is the decor, it's very clean and stylish. I got a roast beef and the wife got the italian. They give you a good amount of meat unlike those chain restaurants like subway and they had good bread. We were both very happy with our subs. First let me start with what they are doing right. Food is actually very good, and the wraps are on point! That being said the only real criticism I have for them is that during rush hours they are not organized, and their work flow leave something to be desired. During the business week, especially during lunch hours, we only have limited time, and need to get back quickly. 2 simple changes would make a world of difference from a customers point of view. First you need to create 2 distinct lines for cold and hot food. Secondly, collect payment at that time. It is just to frustrating to have to stand in line again just to pay. Once I'm done eating, I'm ready to leave, and get back to work. I'm assuming lack of space is the reasoning for this, but as business owners that will be up to you to create the solution. An idea could be if you to consider getting an app, and/or setting up iPads at the tables to take orders. Or something simple as having an employee of the other side of the counter taking orders from a different location in the eating area. Either way, I'm sure to continue to patronage your establishment, but would appreciate it if you could recognize the problems, and look to create solutions. read more
