Definitely visit for amazing breakfast if you're in the area. We ordered a coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, a Mexican omelette, avocado toast and waffles. Coffee was okay. Juice was really good. Omelette was great. It was a bit different, good different, from what we normally have at other places, couldn't exactly point out what but definitely to be tried. Avocado toast was amazing too. So were waffles. Overall, loved the food. Coffee can be better. They never came for coffee refills, so not sure if they do that. We saw the pictures online and thought to explore for its vibes but the vibe of being there doesn't get captured well in pictures. Can't stress enough. Service was very good. Decent amount of parking outside. Location is a bit weird as it's a residential neighborhood. Overall, definitely recommended. read more

Visited this quaint diner on a trip to New Jersey for the Princeton graduation weekend. Stopped here around lunchtime on Memorial Day. The restaurant was not crowded, and our party of 6 was seated right away. The restaurant is tucked back in a neighborhood area, and has some private parking around the building. The decor is like that of a 1950s diner. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our waiter appeared to be relatively new to the job, but he fulfilled all of our requests and was friendly. He would always get us a refill or more of something whenever we asked. We ordered a few starters of the Spinach and Artichoke Dip and the Mozzarella Sticks. Everyone in our party enjoyed both dishes! The dip portion was generous. We asked for additional chips to finish the dip off with and we were able to get them. Some of the various dishes we ordered are pictured - The Godfather, Turkey B.L.T. Deli Sandwich, Nachos Supreme, Tuna Salad Club, Sicilian Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Noodle Soup, and the Trio Salad Platter. I personally had the Trio Salad Platter, and really enjoyed it! It was a nice and refreshing lunch that was not too heavy. My favorite of the three was the tuna salad. We all sampled each other's dishes, and there was not one I did not like. The portions were large and very good for the price. I do believe the value is there with anything ordered from here. We definitely had leftovers to enjoy later! I enjoyed my visit to this restaurant! I would like to come back in the future to try their breakfast, and also more of the menu. Went here today for breakfast. It was on our way to our destination. We have eaten here before with mixed reviews but today solidified our choice to never eat here again. Our waiter was very pleasant and brought our food out quickly but the food is the issue here. My wife ordered the Country Omelette with grits as the side versus potatoes and I ordered the South Caroline Grits. My wife's omelette was completely overcooked to the point it was crunchy and her grits, although she added cheese, were bland and tasteless. Salt, pepper and butter couldn't help them. To call my grit meal South Carolina is an insult to that state. Having live in South Carolina for many years and to serve these lackluster grits is an abomination to grits and the cook would have been lynched in the south. I've had better instant grits. Here's why: the grits were bland, tasteless and runny as can be but somehow there were small bits of grits throughout that were crunchy. Salt and pepper barely added anything to them. With the grit meal it was topped with ham, sausage and 2 eggs which I swear the menu said "two sunny side up eggs!" When brought out, the eggs were scrambled hard and there was no sausage. Upon sending back, I questioned about the egg which the waiter replied that the menu said "eggs to order", no argument, but if that's the case, he should have asked me how I wanted them. There was sausage on my plate when returned but it was a fat link which was not cut up to match the ham. I had to cut it which was difficult due to the plate being a bowl and kept tilting while I tried to cut it with a dull knife. The ham and the sausage had barely any taste or flavor. We ate our meal, paid and left deciding this was our last visit here. Although the restaurant has changed hands over the past several years, the interior design has stayed the same as a homage to the 50's. I thinks the dust on everything may be from that era also. Pieces of mounding around the room are hanging down and strip lighting around the ceiling border flashed intermittently blue which was odd and annoying because it would catch the corner of your eye and distract you. If you like bland, tasteless mushy or overcooked food then this is the place for you but if you want better, stay away and look elsewhere. Could have gotten a better breakfast at Wawa or even Taco Bell up the road. read more

Beach Boys, Sinatra, and Elvis albums and memorabilia feature prominently on the walls and the Flintstones and the Brady Bunch run on the TVs. The food is mostly American diner food. They have a decent breakfast spread as well as specials on the weekdays. I got the power breakfast - simple but healthy - but you can always go for a variation of their omelettes or pancakes, or different combos. Pricing is quite affordable. It's not the best for larger parties, and while they do have a decent sized parking lot, I don't think there are many places to park otherwise. Overall, I'd go back. read more

The amenities states dogs are allowed. I called and the lady mentioned that only in the presence of their trainer, which does not make sense. Maybe she meant owner? Cute corner diner. I love the ambience and the fun decorations at this diner. I found this place to be clean (at the seats/table and bathroom) and the service was also attentive and fast. Went in for a quick meal to catch up with someone and we were in and out within the hour. The chicken Caesar salad was plentiful, but just as a sidenote, the dressing was the non-creamy Caesar salad dressing. The panini/sandwiches came with a side of fries and coleslaw and cup of soup (I think - or my mind may be playing tricks on me - forgot if it was included or not). I chose the vegetable panini which was delicious with mozzarella cheese, red pepper, zucchini, and breaded eggplant. I also ordered the chicken rice soup and it did not disappoint on a cold evening. Came here to say after a procedure at Penn Medicine. The vibe is 50's rock n roll with the music and photos and videos running old tv clips. The hostess was very friendly and my wife and I were seated right away in a booth. This was a Wednesday morning before noon and not very crowded so I wasn't sure what to expect for the food. I had a build your own omelette with ham and American cheese and it came with 4 slices of thick rye toast already buttered and potatoes. I added a side of corn beef hash and it was delicious and not from a can. My wife had 2 eggs and the hash. The portions were generous. The coffee was great and repeatedly freshened up. The waiter was friendly, polite and professional. We will be back for sure as it's only a 15 minute drive from Monroe. Treated us as long time customers but this was our first visit. read more

The newly christened, Monmouth Junction Kitchen has now replaced once fulsome sandwiches with paltry imposters that barely have enough meat to satisfy an anorexic. Cole slaw servings are halved and full pickles are now quartered. And be prepared for a newly minted +3.5% upcharge on credit card purchases. A previous gem is no more. Time to find a new diner. Meatloaf came out burned on one side of each slice . Hidden by putting the burned side down and covered in gravy . Got new order , not burnt . Had 1 of 3 slices and about 1/2 of the mashed potatoes to bring home as a leftover . Server spilled my iced tea all over the plate ... didn't offer to replace the slice of meatloaf and potatoes . If you are taking to go orders over the phone you should know the menu.
