I came to this restaurant often since they open this location, and they never make me disappointed. The owner is very humble and every time if I see him at the restaurant, he always comes and greet me or customers with a smile. Even there were few dishes on the menu that I didn't like but the restaurant listens to feedback and didn't stop improving the taste of dishes that had an issue. I'm very impressed how they handle the problem with love and professional. - Sushi and Ssashimi are always fresh and better quality than another place nearby. Most of the time I order Sashimi deluxe and not just the taste of fishes I also enjoy how creative of the dish they garnish and make it a piece of art. - Pork Gyoza is one of my appetizers from the kitchen favorite especially the Gyoza sauce is so delicious. - Tiger Roll is my first time trying at this place, my friend and I like it so much. It has Tuna, salmon Yellowtail, tobiko, tempura flakes, avocado wrapped in isonoyuki. Super good combination. I actually got another to go order to bring it home. - Sake: We have few bottles of Dasai sake, both dry and I love to try the nice taste of sake. - Update on Carpacio sause, I had salmon Carpacio last time and some how didn't like the sauce. This time they change few ingredients and the dish is blow my mind. Even it is complimentary, and they use tuna instead of salmon. I think it is a good idea to include this option on their menu. - Kani Salad: my easy day salad. I always order this dish when I don't know what to decide to eat. I'm glad Mr. Sushi have location in my neighborhood. I love Japanese food and now it is walking distance from my home so this restaurant will be another place I often going. Really recommended!

Came here on a whim for some sushi and I was blown away by the tasty and presentation. Everything was so delicious and each dish looked more gorgeous than the previous. Curry Coconut Soup - probably the only thing I didn't like from the food, very bland. Grilled Squid - you get a whole squid! The sauce on top it really flavorful and goes well with the dish, plenty of sauce. Tuna Pizza - I've had Tuna Pizza before, but this one was probably the best. I was towards the end of my meal so I was full, maybe because of that the pizza felt too "fatty" due to the avocado base. Coconut Tuna - was really good almost like sushi roll without rice Salmon Caviar - fresh and tasty, nothing extra about it. Philadelphia Roll (I didn't get this one, promise!), Lobster Roll, and Tiger Roll, were all well liked by the person who got them. I don't know what the blue candy flavored sauce they add to a lot of dishes, but it really make them pop. Great colorful addition!

Had a lovely dinner date with my husband at Mr. Sushi. The decor is very cool, with lots of hanging fishbowls above you as you eat. I didn't realize until we sat down, but we actually order from their sister restaurant "My Sushi" all the time! So I knew we were in good hands. The server was very attentive and gave us a recommendation for sashimi, but we're no rookies! We made our selections (a few rolls, some pieces of sushi, and a piece of uni each!) and were very happy. Everything was fresh and tasty. Also enjoyed some sake and Sapporo. Great meal, would return!

It's a beautiful box of assorted sushi with generous amounts of fish. It's not the softest "melt in your mouth" bites but it's great value. They also threw in a free California roll in my order. So kind!

Across the board this has become one of my favorite and consistent restaurants in East Willy b. The staff is very attentive and eager to please you. They are accommodating to those with dietary issues such as gluten or dairy which is a delight to see in this neighborhood or good. The portions are plentiful; you won't leave hungry and the quality is exceptional. Take away business is already in full gear, indoor dining has picked up nicely, but now they need more of an indoor dining lunch crowd. They open at noon. East Willyb deserves a great dine in sushi restaurant, but we have to support it!

Just ordered the 3-combo (spicy scallop, spicy white tuna, yellowtail), it's fresh and delicious. They did not skimp out, it was robust! The combo also came with a miso soup or salad. The staff was friendly upon pick up and informed me that for this week (due to grand opening), free hot appetizer if dining in!

My favorite sushi spot in Williamsburg! They hit the spot if you're craving solid sushi and nice hot dishes like tempura or agedashi tofu. The space is small but really nice and is a cute date spot for an affordable price. If you're expecting top of the line omakase this might not exactly be your pick, but I highly recommend for a first date or just craving sushi days! Oh and the service is so good, will always be back!

Super attentive staff and modern, classy aesthetic. The sushi is A1!! Had the toro and it was dressed in gold flakes and CAVIAR! they have foie gras sushi specials and will have wagyu soon. We ordered the: Miso wings Vegetable tempura Spicy tuna roll Toro sushi Calamari We also received a special on the house, the yellowtail and tuna tartare which was delicious. everything was super YUM and fresh and the staff gave us extra napkins for the wings. We loved the tempura wings! Light and fresh and don't sleep on the toro!!

Visited here last night and it was one of the best sushi spots I've had in NYC. We ended up getting the sushi deluxe and it was well worth it. Quality was amazing and fresh. Ambience was perfect, each table had its own candle. Our waitress, Kate was amazing and gave us great service and recommendations. Small spot on a busy street in Williamsburg. The food is beautifully presented - one of the best takeouts I've seen! Was looking for a lunch spot before a massage near by and stumbled upon Mr. Sushi. We were seated right away and our server was very friendly and attentive. I recently dined at Mr. Sushi and had a delightful experience! The variety of shrimp and crab rolls was fantastic - fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The shrimp tempura was crispy and light, a perfect addition to the meal. While the fried oysters were just okay, they didn't detract from the overall enjoyment. The highlight, though, was the green tea fried ice cream - a unique and delicious treat that perfectly capped off the meal. I went YEARS ago (2021) but I remember quite literally craving their dishes for weeks before finally finding acceptable alternatives again a different spot in Newport Beach, CA (Sushi Roku). Their sushi itself was good, but what really stood out were the appetizers and fried rice in particular.Restaurant decor is so cool and fun, and I don't remember much about the service which usually means it was perfectly acceptable. read more

Went here expecting a quick bite. We were quite surprised with how fancy the place was, and the service was so quick and friendly. We had the toro special, seaweed salad, shrimp tempura, a spicy tuna hand roll, and the sashimi platter- everything was beautifully plated and tasted fresh. They also sent out some cool stuff we didn't order, which was really nice. I'd recommend if you're in the area. read more

When I say that this is the best sushi I've had in nyc I'm not exaggerating, the special roles were TO DIE FOR especially the salmon family role!! I think this is THE BEST Japanese restaurant I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot! The service is EXCELLENT too! Ordered gyoza and was light and crispy with a hint of spice. They served us an additional free appetizer of tempura chicken with chip-like snacks and it was delicious! Ordered the Brooklyn sushi and a side salad and it was really amazing. We don't live here, but wish we had this restaurant near us. Real chopsticks, not the kind you have to tear apart and the staff was right there to make sure you were well taken care of. Honestly, extremely impressed with the quality of fish here. Went in for a casual date with my boyfriend and left so satiated. Ambiance was on point. Kate our waitress recommended the love boat, and it did not disappoint! We will be going again. We came because of all the good reviews online. We got the omakase but nothing was fresh!! The uni was so old that its color is a very dirty orange color. We asked the waitress why it is dark orange instead of bright orange and the waitress just said that it's hot today and they can switch it. Why would a restaurant present something is so old. All the other fish also did not taste fresh at all. I only ate a little and I am hoping I don't get a stomachache or food poisoning from this meal! Very disappointing and a waste of money read more

I just had the best sushi tonight. I'm so happy that I discovered this restaurant. Sushi quality is superb and fresh! The sushi deluxe that Kate (receptionist or waitress) recommended was surprisingly budget friendly with the highest quality. The meal we had was totally worth it. I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Despite the high prices, the quality of the ingredients fell short. I ordered a spicy tuna and spicy salmon roll, both of which tasted more like crunch than actual fish - a major letdown. The teriyaki shrimp and salmon also had an odd flavor, overly salty, unlike any other teriyaki dishes I've had nearby. I spent over $80 and ended up tossing my meal in the trash. Looked pretty cool from the peaks but seeing how well design and calm this spot looked I had to try it. Gentle crafted details, wood accents with an eye details. You can tell the owners took their time designing the space, and not doing the contractor special Solid menu of sushi with the standard veggie options. I got the avocado and 'vegan eel' which was really inari (tofu skin) not imitation fish. Sushi was very fresh and tasty, loved my little table and the way service is. Can order at the counter and take a seat. Self service water and utensil station, then putting dishes in a tray when finished feels enjoyable for some reason. More autonomy. Then there is a secret cafe in the basement which is absolutely amazing. They don't allow photography so I didn't take any, but really wanted to lol. Coffee was ok, I need to try some other option like matcha but definitely a cool workspace or meet up and chat spot. Some tables to work and some with no tech allowed. Overall just great design throughout. Congrats to the team, will definitely be back!

SETTING: made a res day of for 6:15pm Saturday. We were 6 mins late and got a call promptly at 6:20 asking where we were (they turn tables very tightly so I think it's an hour 15 minute turn time- the next guests were waiting outside by 7:30). It's a very small restaurant with a sushi counter and 13 seats only. Dont forget to BYOB if you want to have some drinks with your meal other than soda/water! FOOD: the sushi was very fresh/good. Nice sized pieces and all delicious!! Some of the pieces had sauces that were unique (like homemade tofu sauce), and added to the flavors of the sushi. SERVICE: service was great. Because it's such a small restaurant they don't really need much to be attentive (there was only one chef, and one waitress serving water/pouring BYOB. Every single bite of the food was so divine it had multiple flavors and just one bite and it was just absolutely delicious. There was so much science to the making. Every single thing on the tasting menu was out of this world I was having the best time of my life. The ambience is what makes everything it is so quaint and cool and just intimate and everybody makes friends with each other. While the spicy salmon had a decent filling (though rice still terrible), we didn't taste much eel in the eel roll. Maybe it was a bad night for rice, as the sashimi and crab was good.
