We have been going to Mr. Sushi since their first tiny location in old town and have loved it ever since. I was definitely skeptical trying sushi from a tiny little hole in the wall in old town, but they did it right, started small, gradually expanded and now doing pretty darn awesome. Their sushi is relatively quick and always fresh. They're so busy, it's impossible for it not to be fresh! The size of their eel roll is also quite impressive, normally it's only 6 tiny rolls so we ordered 2, and definitely did not need to. Their other specialty rolls were also a good size and very good! I branched out and did not alter my rolls like I normally do. The Mango Lover was great, I almost asked for no mango sauce on top, but I'm glad I didn't. I also had another specialty roll called The Sumo Roll, which I really enjoyed, great amount of fish I just wish the tempura was thinner on the outside. My sister didn't love her poke bowl but the rest of the family enjoyed their rolls. No need to hesitate, give them a try! (Go with clean hands, they do not have their own restrooms). read more

We stumbled upon this location while trying to find a good affordable place for sushi in the area. It's in the heart of Old Town and we were VERY impressed. Rolls on special started at 6 dollars a roll and came with 10 pieces! We were able to snag 4 rolls, and 6 dumplings for only 35 bucks! This was a steal. Ok, it is an express sushi - not much expected. Overall it was OK - fast service, friendly staff. As of the food, well, if you don't mind eating just rice with a tiny bit of fish, then this is your sushi place. The rice had too much vinegar so it tasted odd with the fish. The staff did agree to make a custom roll for me (Philadelphia roll with crab instead of salmon) so that made me happy. He was a bit confused about it but agreed nonetheless. I got miso soup which was very tasty but the reason for the 3 stars in my review is due to how I received my soup as a to go order. The soup was packaged in a soda cup. I saw other reviewers said the same in the past but I thought maybe they just ran out proper containers at the time.. that wasn't the case. We got there around 12:15 and only 2 workers were there. We sat down and looked at the menu for around 10 minutes and we ordered 2 rolls. I completed the transaction at 12:28PM. He told me 15 minutes. By 1PM, 3 families had come in, ordered drinks (not even food), and left while we were still waiting for ours. At 1:05, I noticed one of the workers ask where one of our rolls was and the chef just looked confused and shrugged. The register worker then inputs the same roll and the chef goes "okay i got it." At 1:08 I went back up to the counter and asked how much longer because it has been 40 minutes. He said just 5 more minutes, they have been very busy. The register worker was the one making all the drinks, the sushi chef had no orders besides ours (no pickup orders had been done besides one guy who came in 3 minutes before we ordered and left 5 minutes after). I then asked for a refund and he said no the food will be ready any second. I should have just pushed for the refund but the food came out and we left. Horrible. read more

They will take a phone order. Do not use Grubhub to order your food. Grubhub charges extra. Each item costs more when you order pick up through Grubhub. Just call and order yourself. Another tip, their meal deal, 3 sushi rolls for a set price. It is not cheaper. When you add each item, you are paying actually more or the same. It is not a deal.
