Where to start. This is one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to in terms of general vibe, quality of food, egregious use of AI, and overall inconsistency. My husband found this on a local Facebook group and through Google reviews. Immediately we were confused because when looking up "Davenport Sashimi Fusion", the supposed name, the website pulls up a half-baked AI filled mess with a clunky online ordering form and nothing else. No real photos, genuinely just AI. When we navigated here, the sign actually differs and says "Hibachi2U". Weird! We head inside and see the "Davenport Sashimi Fusion" sign. Which is it? Surely Davenport Sashimi Fusion, since that's the name of the business on Yelp? No! After entering you're greeted with a cold AI-powered kiosk. There were a few people seated at booths, but the one waitress looked genuinely confused we wanted to be seated. The menus we were presented with state Hibachi2U again, so I guess that's the name after all? It feels extremely suspicious to me and not like the vibe that they're under new management (which is not even advertised anywhere). Menu was once again full of AI and not legitimate photos of their food. From a presentation standpoint, there is no effort put into this to even try. We inquired about the pricing of a la carte salmon sashimi since it was listed online and wasn't sure if pricing had changed (online menu does not match the restaurant). The waitress was surprised we asked about sashimi and stated they do not offer a la carte orders in the restaurant. Name states sashimi fushion. Whatever. We ordered gyoza, shrimp tempura roll, salmon crunch roll, and the shrimp and steak hibachi with fried rice. This came with house salad and clear soup. The gyoza was either a Cisco or LingLing frozen pre-cooked and super oily. Not fresh. The clear soup literally tasted like dirty brown water and was untouchable. I did not try the house salad since the dressing looked dubious and reminded me of pimento cheese. The sushi was extremely disappointing as the overuse of crunch flakes hid the pre-made Publix sushi type construction with poor quality ingredients. The hibachi was EMBARRASSING. Inconsistently cooked rice (both crunchy and mushy) with little flavor and tasted OFF. I had two bites and was done. The steak was cooked decently for medium rare (although chewy) and the shrimp was extremely overcooked and rubbery. The vegetables included were minuscule and seemed like they were bought as the rejects to save costs. In all, this is a lazy, horrible restaurant that presents as two different businesses falsely and has poor judgement in quality and cooking. Sashimi Fusion, or what now might be known as Hibachi2U according to their signage and menu has a lot of conflicting information online in terms of menu, pricing and more. I was weirded out by the aggressive usage of AI across the signage, menu (including food pictures) and advertising across the restaurants. It gave a very unsettling feeling. There's also an ordering kiosk right as you enter next to a Sashimi Fusion sign that clashes with the Hibachi2U signage they've attempted to plaster on everything else. It's giving Ghost Kitchen. Unfortunately the food absolutely DID NOT redeem the experience. The gyoza was either store bought or pre-frozen fare, that was heavily doused in oil. It wasn't terrible but not restaurant quality. Our soup and salad that came with our hibachi was a massive disappointment. The clear soup legitimately tasted like dirty water and the ginger salad, although a highlight for the meal, again was nothing to write home about. Our two sushi rolls made Publix sushi look like a Michelin star restaurant. The shrimp tempura roll was the most bland version I had ever had and the salmon crunch roll was absolutely drowned in "crunch" as a way of adding flavor...it did not. I hoped at this point, the hibachi would be the saving grace. After all, this was now called "HIBACHI2U". The rice was overcooked and yet unevenly cooked. Not flavorful or seasoned whatsoever. The steak was slightly chewy and the shrimp was also overcooked. The vegetables tasted like they came from a frozen mix that had been thrown in. I'm giving two stars with the assumption that I won't be getting food poisoning here, but if my review is later adjusted, it would be due to the lingering inedibility of the meal. Great experience dining in! Service was prompt and friendly. They checked up on us frequently. Even then our waitress was signing off, the backroom person who took over for her was prompt and remembered our drinks without us needing to remind him. The dishes themselves were nicely plated as well and I was impressed with the presentation. The food itself was okay - nothing spectacular, but decent flavor. The ambiance was nice with music and good accent lighting. I could tell there was a lot of thought put into the decor, lighting, and menu design. While there were a few unrefined edges to the place (e.g., trash can in the men's restroom was pretty beat up and the silverware didn't seem to match how nice the rest of the place was), I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the dinner was. read more

Amazing in all aspects! The service was friendly and fast from beginning to end! Never missed a beat and was on top of everything to make sure everything was good. My rolls were so good and the plate was bigger than I though with more pieces then a normal order would be so I was definitely satisfied. The chicken roll my husband had was surprisingly flavorful as well. Juicy chicken and spicy mayo made for a nice roll. The gyoza was a great starter, nice crispy pan sear and packed with meat for the price. Everything was perfect I would come back and probably order to go. Davenport Sashimi Fusion in the Publix plaza across the street and to the left of the Reunion main entrance... This is our go-to local place. They have been in the area for a long time, pre-pandemic. The owner, Fay focuses on a limited selection of fish and quality cuts. He is one of the hardest working immigrants i know. His elderly mother prepares all sauces, soups and salad dressing. She also washes the dishes. We'll spend about $2500 per year, ordering in twice per month and have never been disappointed. You can order online on their website through qmenu and pick up the food or have it delivered. They do not markup their prices through that platform so delivery will cost about $12 since it is fulfilled by Uber. Pickup makes the most sense (to me). The place is waaaay better than Blue Coast in ChampionsGate and way cheaper. We ate in tonight for the first time since 2019. Fay brought over some sake from his private stash and kept us late to chat. His English is slightly limited, but he will always try. The waitress / hostess has been with them for many years. She's still in her 20s and would love to travel or pursue a nursing career, BUT she will not leave Fay. She worries about how hard he works. It is so admirable. Davenport Sashimi Fusion IS a local, Reunion, small business. There aren't many in the restaurant industry of our tourist area, packed with chains, that can make such a claim. Mikado, a sushi chain, is opening up soon next to Texas Roadhouse, right outside thr entrance to Reunion. I am nervous for Fay and his family. If you enjoy sushi, please consider giving them a try. You get excellent quality fish and large pieces, but the selection is limited (for those who frequent high end establishments). I see a man who loves his business and is willing to Work as hard as it takes to make it be successful. Emily and I will continue to support them. They will be open on Thanksgiving. Looking for a quick dinner after traveling and found this place. The ambiance is nice but only serve beer and saki. The ginger dressing is fantastic, made in house, same as the clear onion broth. Last night, we went out for dinner at Sashimi Davenport Sashimi Fusion, located at 7870 Lake Wilson Rd, Davenport, FL 33896. The only reason I'm posting this review is because I don't want any customer to go through what we experienced. I could have recorded what happened, but I didn't want things to escalate. I believe in staying polite, no matter the situation. So let me start with what happened on September 27, 2025, at 6:40 PM. It was our first time there, and we wanted to try something new instead of our usual spot (which we deeply regret not going to--Mayaki Sushi & Izakaya, also at 7870 Lake Wilson Rd). We walked in, and the server seated us at our table. We were the only customers in the restaurant. She handed us the black menu book. We ordered the Chicken Hibachi (no extras), and they gave us a complimentary California roll since our meal totaled over $25.00. The meal was edible--I'd rate it a 6 out of 10. The sushi had a strange flavor, and the salad tasted like tap water, as did the cooked vegetables. The chicken and white rice were okay, but nothing special. The food wasn't the issue. The real problem began when we received the check. We noticed we were being charged $15.95 per meal, even though the menu stated $13.95. We waved the server over and asked why the price was different. She replied, "Oh, that was the price before inflation." We pointed out that the menu she gave us clearly said $13.95, and she quickly interrupted with an attitude, saying she couldn't honor that price and we had to pay what was listed on the To-Go menu. I responded, "Excuse me, but you're being rude, and we're being polite. We just want you to honor the price on the menu you provided." She again said no, with attitude. We asked to speak with a manager, and she said she was the manager. I then asked if she could offer a discount so we could pay the price listed on the menu. She refused, saying she couldn't do anything and we had to pay the amount she was telling us. She walked away as another customer came in with a to-go order, saying they had received the wrong sushi. The server/manager gave them attitude and yelled across the restaurant to the chef, telling him to inform the customer they had received the correct sushi. The chef didn't respond or come out. She rudely insisted to the customer that it was the correct sushi. The customer left with no resolution. Then, she started complaining to a couple she had just seated--first about the to-go customer, then about us, saying we didn't want to pay for our food. When I heard that, I said, "Excuse me, I want to pay the price listed on the menu. But here, take my credit card, and I'll just pay the amount on the receipt." She took the card and began complaining about her job, saying she was the only one working and handling all the customers and to-go orders. (We had been there for almost an hour, and we were the only customers for at least 40 minutes. One customer came in after that, followed by the couple she seated.) She said she was stressed and broke out in hives and that she knew we didn't care what she was going through. (Fact: she had no visible hives.) While she was charging the card, we told the couple across from us, "Sorry--we were charged the wrong amount, but we've been polite to her. Make sure you get the correct menu so you're not overcharged like we were because we were given the 'wrong menu.'" She then yelled across the room again, saying, "These customers love our food and always come here." I replied, "That's great to hear." She walked up to us, threw the credit card and receipt at us, and said, "Sign the receipt," with attitude. And that's how our dinner went. I would rate: - Restaurant ambiance: 7 Food: 6 - Customer service: 0 - Server/Manager: Unprofessional, easily flustered, and unable to handle polite customers--let alone rude ones. I got my husband 2 rolls and he thought they were "alright" but nothing real special. One tip I have -- DO NOT ORDER FROM DOOR DASH, they up-charge every menu item by $1 +... Some menu items a full $5 more!!! I ordered the sushi and sashimi combo 2 and shrimp fried rice. I will say they added a ton of variety. Unfortunately the first piece of sashimi we ate tasted like a fish tank and smelled like the fish feed/flakes. Honestly did not trust anything else after that. I really like this place. We have been there twice for carry out. The first time, we went inside. The second time we use the plastic box. Both worked well. They have some interesting and well designed rolls with excellent flavor profiles. I also like their gingers salad and seaweed salad. Their shumai is also delicious. The reason for not giving them five stars is because the second time we ordered sushi it wasn't warm when it should've been. The shumai wasn't that warm either. We were there about 10 minutes after we ordered so it should've been piping hot. It wasn't that big of a deal because clearly it was fresh but I like to have hot food really hot. I assume they made the fried shrimp and shumai ahead of time, refrigerated and didn't fully reheat or something. It's a great choice here at Reunion and the folks are really nice. read more

My extended family invited my wife, kids and I to stay with them in Davenport. After a hard day of Magic Kingdoming we returned to town looking for some sushi. A quick Yelp search brought Sashimi Fusion to our attention. It seemed decent so we decided to give it a go. We used Sashimi's online form for ordering. In my opinion, online ordering was a great addition and I'd love to see it become the norm at sushi restaurants. We ordered a number of vegetarian sushi rolls. These included two sweet potato rolls, an avocado roll and an asparagus roll. The online form asked if we wanted a hand roll or roll. My wife and I had no idea what the difference was but because hand roll sounded slightly cooler than roll we went with it. Shortly after submitting the order we received a call from the employee on duty who asked us to confirm that we did indeed want hand rolls. He informed us that these were just long rolls, they were not sliced into little pieces. We opted to not go that route. I loved that he took the time to confirm the style of rolls we wanted. Possibly runs into that issue a lot? Should maybe clarify on the online ordering form if possible? The rolls were good. Nothing remarkable about them but they definitely did an adequate job of satisfying our sushi craving. We are back on our keto meal plan for a few weeks and sashimi just sounded like a great idea. Fresh fish, no rice and all the soups, ginger salad, and sautéed veggies our hearts can desire. YES, I was missing the sushi roll with rice. But I can say everything was fresh and yummy. The only thing that needs improvement is the service. Every waitress is on rush mode- it's the name of the game. I know from experience. However, it's important not to rush or push customers in a way that can be read wrong. This place is still new and I'm sure working out the kinks in terms of training. My husband and I will surely try again since it's close to us. It was our youngest birthday so we decided Hibachi! I ordered the Shrimp hibachi which came with a choice of noodles, white rice and fried rice with also a soup and salad all in one price! The issue we had was the rice was a little crunchy and that totally made me upset about the rest of the dinner. The "clear soup" was brown and something in it was spicy. The tuna tataki was like warm due to being packaged with the soup. It was also overcooked -- so much so that my daughter said it smelled "burned"-- and tasted like tuna from a can. The texture reminded me of something that had been frozen then microwaved. When I got there the guy at the counter looked surprised.. the order wasn't even started and they weren't busy or doing anything except looking at their phones. He looked at some screen and said the order would be right out. After making me wait for another 30 minutes for the order to be complete. I asked for a discount for the delay and rudely declined. I left the order on the counter and walked out. I don't know what is going on there anymore. I've placed dozens of orders in the past without any issues. We picked this place on yelp because of the reviews. Even though it only had five reviews they were all positive. The place is decorated nicely and the server friendly. We should have left after the salad arrived. Check picture below. Lettuce and one slice of cucumber. The dressing was not the typical ginger dressing that we are use too. It was more like a mayo sauce with ginger. The salad was very wet never drained after washing it. The Sushi looked pretty but super small rolls for the price. One of the rolls had a strange taste and the other one had mushy spicy salmon on top. Let's just say I didn't eat much of it. The rolls are small and expensive and taste was just not what we thought was good sushi. We are visiting Orlando and disappointed in our meal. Btw the I asked for light soy sauce and she said it light soy sauce it just has the "red" cap. Upon pouring it I knew it was not "light" soy sauce. Just say we don't have light. Don't lie to me. Came here for a little date night with my wife and we enjoyed ourselves. The decor inside the restaurant is really nice. This restaurant is located across the street from The Reunion Resort in Davenport and down the street from ChampionsGate. The service here was nice and the food was prepared pretty quickly. We had sashimi and and a couple of hot plates, with ginger salads and soups to start. I had the chicken and shrimp hibachi order with vegetables and fried rice. I also was able to try there salmon and noodles. This place is definitely a nice and convenient spot for me to frequent.
