I flew to Florida for a couple of days and couldn't stop craving Asian cuisine. You can imagine my happiness when I saw that this place is open until 1 a.m., with food served until 11:30 p.m.! The servers were charming, just like the restaurant itself. They have a bar area with TVs if someone is there for sports to go with their food. Our waitress was polite and made sure that the cups stayed filled. I ended up getting what I THINK was a volcano roll (sushi fills me up alone) along with a Dr. Pepper. The sushi was just OK. There was crab meat on top but all I could taste as I was eating was the cream cheese. It just didn't have a strong taste of anything at all. When you're in Orlando, it makes sense to get away from the hype and high pricing of the theme park restaurants. We ventured out from our hotel and found Sakeba Sushi & Grill through Yelp reviews. Located on the corner of a small strip mall, this is a very cool, low-key place for sushi and drinks. Our server was attentive and quickly brought us ice-cold Sapporo beers. For my food, I ordered four sushi rolls: Philadelphia, California, tuna, and salmon. The chef was fast - the rolls were prepared and served before we finished our first beer. The plating was attractive, the fish was fresh, and the rolls were meaty. This meal was exactly what I wanted. Although it's a sushi bar, the place also has a bit of a sports bar vibe, with lots of TVs for watching your favorite game. I felt lucky to find this spot and escape the hotel. CA roll was average, I have had CA rolls from grocery store that were better. Best thing to probably get is the hibachi, still lacked flavor. Holy cow, this may be the sushi spot I've been looking for. Not pretentious, not overpriced--just good tasty sushi. We started with the fried gyoza and steamed edamame. The gyoza could've been more crisp, but they had a really good flavor and the sauce was really good too. The edamame were salted perfectly. For sushi (going clockwise from the top center) we got the Alaska, Rainbow, Hawaiian, and spicy salmon rolls. They each had a specific flavor and the rice was perfect, something that doesn't always happen at more affordable places in the area. Service was super fast and friendly. Unfortunately, we got there at 6:30 and based on other menus on Yelp, it said until 7pm but they changed it to 6pm, which was an extreme bummer. I posted the new happy hour menu with the new prices! Not the best hibachi and sushi I've ever had but you will be satisfied with your meal! - Miso Soup ($3.50): I love miso soup but this had too much of a seaweed taste - Disney Dream Roll ($18): had a nice crunch and a lot of good flavor. Tasted much better with wisabi!! - Hibachi Chicken with Fried rice and Yaki Udon ($16): this chicken hibachi came with two sides so I chose the fried rice and udon noodles. I came here because this appears to be a pretty popular Asian restaurant around the area. I think to me it's more like 3.7 star restaurant from my overall experience. This place is not to be confused with the other location which is right down the street in the "old town" area. We actually drove by that other place and it was not very busy so decided to eat here instead. I was told the difference between the two restaurants is that this restaurant focuses more on Japanese where the other "old town" location is more fusion style. We arrived at the restaurant and it seemed really busy for a normal Wednesday night. I think they were short staffed because it took them a good 10 mins to acknowledge us waiting at the door. Again, I don't really mind the service because as long as the food is good I will be happy. However all 4 of us ordered hibachi but it came out a bit cold. I think they forgot to serve us the food because they wanted to wait for us to finish the appetizer. I got the filet mignon and lobster hibachi and I think it tasted ok but definitely wished it was given to me earlier so it would be hot. However I must mention the price is extremely affordable because i only paid $32 for the meal with 2 sides. I think they have a great sushi selection. My colleague got this roll with spicy tuna on top and shrimp tempura with cream cheese inside and I thought that was fantastic. Highly recommended. I probably won't go back but if you are looking for something ok to eat in the area this is not a bad option but maybe ask the server to bring you everything as once especially when it's busy. read more

Currently visiting Orlando and was craving some late night sushi. This place popped up on my feed as one of the top pics. Ordered on Door dash and my total came out to be about $20 before the tip. I decided to go with the Cocoa Beach Roll because it included all of my favorites (imitation crab, avocado, cucumber, shrimp tempura, salmon, and tuna. However, for $20 this roll was super small and not fresh at all. This roll was supposed to have salmon and tuna but had about 4 pieces with a small slab of fish. The rest of the pieces were covered with avocado. For $20, I expected way more. Maybe it's because I'm from the Bay Area and the sushi rolls are huge and filled with fish. Also, the immigration crab was literally a piece cut up of the stick. I'm used to it being a crab salad mix in my sushi which usually makes the roll taste more fresh. Sakeba Sushi is good for convenience but I don't think I would reorder from here again. Maybe a different roll or even dining in person would be better but this roll didn't come anything close to what i'm used to eating in the Bay. read more

What a hidden gem, I can't believe I hadn't been here before! Enjoyed a lovely date night and was so happy to have gone here! I shared the chicken hibachi dinner with my bf, which was great because we wanted to get some appetizers and even then we didn't finish the plate. The hibachi was delicious; you get to pick 1 side dishes, I got udon noodles and fried rice. For appetizers, we started off with the sweet heart roll, delicious and so cute, and the shrimp shumai dumplings. This place is located at the end of a strip mall, some may judge it as not the most pleasant visually speaking however the sushi rolls were excellent. I used to come to this restaurant regularly and send my friends to this location with a high recommendation - after my most recent experience I will never return back. This visit was a nightmare from start to finish. We waited at the door for a few minutes before a worker sat us at the open table. Granted, the restaurant was full and we received the last table. They have hardly any entry area of the shop and people came in after us wanting a table - there were so many people waiting that they held the door open their entire wait. It was FREEZING near the door - it would have been better for the servers to welcome the guests inside and make room for them to wait. The TVs had half sports games and one was a channel just showing off videos of birds - very strange. It felt like a sushi bar mixed with sports bar mixed with an aviary?? Our server took way too long to visit our table, he was servicing all other tables around us and checking in with them, never saying hello or offering water. I think it took 10 minutes for him to come with waters and we took our order right away. We waited approximately 30 minutes for one roll of sushi, a side of fried rice, and a chicken hibachi plate. We set a 30 minute time limit if our food wasn't at our table we'd cancel our order (something neither have us have ever done before) and our food came right on the 30 minute mark, which felt way too long to wait. The food - quite literally the worst part of this visit. I've been to this restaurant multiple times pre and post Covid, and they used to make fantastic fresh, large sushi. The shrimp tempura roll I had during this visit was pitiful - incredibly small, hardly any shrimp, hardly and avocado. I've ordered this tons of times before and it's never looked like this. The hibachi chicken was very bland and definitely not cooked hibachi-style. The udon noodles and fried rice were some of the worst I've ever had - and I try not to be picky with food. Please do yourself a service and find another restaurant to visit. This place is not worth the wait and not worth your time for quality of the meal. read more
