Excellent steak burrito. Very scarey teeny tiny bathroom.

There alright, It is pretty crappy inside it makes you feel like your eating in a basement and the tacos are good with what they call the melty cheese which is extra and they charge you a million dollars for....ITS CHEESE NOT CAVIAR. I love this place. They have great tasting tacos at reasonable prices. The staff is always friendly and more importantly fast. They are opened very late, and they are conveniently located too. I've always ordered the tacos which are huge! I recommend Steak tacos or del pastor. read more

This place has been around forever, a local institution. Where else do you get steak tacos where the meat is actual thin steaks? This place should be on TV. They are the best fast food taco and burrito joint around, I drive for miles to go there. Order a steak burrito with cheese or quesadillas, they put the cheese directly onto the grill until its melted and a little crispy, then they roll it up and it is magnificent. I was born and raised in Cicero,and been eating at Mr Taco for im guessing about 50years.The owner hasnt changed,nor has the quality of the food,its great.My favorite is no 11.Ill agree that this is a hole in the wall kind of place,but the service is great and the prices fare.It seems that the bad reviews are almost all coming from Berwynites, thats probably because every thing west of Lombard closes at 8 or 9pm.A small bisuness like Mr Taco thats been around for half a century has got to be doing something right.Oh by the way Ive live in Plainfield for the last 17 years but still drive to Cicero for the best Mexican food. read more

This is by far the best Mexican food I have ever eaten!!! It is hard to spot from the street, and very small inside, but what a treasure is waiting for you! Fast and friendly service, made to order. The best Al Pastor quesadilla I have yet to find. Also, I'm not normally one for those carrot slices you get at other Mexican restaurants, but whatever they use to marinate theirs is magical. If you ever find yourself in the area, do yourself a service and go! The only qualm I have is that it is cash only. I don't regularly carry cash on me these days, but I will always take the ATM trip if I'm near Mr. Taco. read more

I have been going here since it opened in the 80's when Jimmy was behind the counter. How many of you remember Jimmy? He always said " How you doin Buddy" in a high pitched tone. Mr. Taco Mexican Food serves Mexican food, its full of exquisite dishes that are delicious. Mr. Taco serves anything from tacos, gorditas, tortas, enchiladas, exquisite tamales and many more. They also have some sweet agua de horchata. Carlos Lopez the owner of the restaurant opened the restaurant in Miami Beach. Since he saw it was a hit he came to open many restaurants in the Chicago Area and one in Cicero Illinois. Mr. Taco Mexican food has been opened for more than 40 years. The service at Mr. Taco is descent. If you are lucky you find a table because of the size of the restaurant it's hard when it's full. The service you get from the workers is very nice; they are total gentlemen when taking your order. When it's full the servers do take a bit to come checkup if everything is well. At Mr. Taco I ate a delicious, cheesy gordita of steak. Each gordita is about $2.50, but definitely worth it. The gordita contains cheese, steak, beans, and tomato and it's full-flavored and soft. I also drank an agua de horchata which left me very satisfied with the whole lunch. The décor would get a rating of three out of five stars. The décor seems very old school with some paintings around. Rarely do you find dirty tables or seats. One inconvenience is that in the winter when someone walks in or out you can feel the cold wind which is a bit frustrating. They do have a heater so inside it's really warm in the winter. The diversity of the restaurant is high even though it's a Mexican restaurant. At the restaurant you can see Hispanics, Caucasians, Indians, and African Americans. It's a very comfortable feeling when you dine at the restaurant. The restaurant overall is descent. The food is delicious and the service is descent as well. With a few steps of remodeling the restaurant could be Cicero's number one hit in my opinion. read more

mr taco is the bomb. it is the standard by witch i judge all food with roots south of the border. lalos be shamed! the grill men here understand, not english, but how to knock every dish out of the park.hit the hot pepper/ carrot mix, or the pollo buritto.if i had one last meal on death row it would be mr tacos steak torta. ugh.the cooks are down and dirty tijuana style diner guys. rick bayless would get beat up her, guy fierie would get a swirlie.this place rocks late night on weekends so, be carefull.this is austin blvd.viva mr. taco! read more
