This was worst than 1 star. I have no idea how it has so many good reviews other than taste buds have been ruined and they don't know better. First wait is LOOONG with little to no knowledge of why. The menu has no mention of price differences between meats so be warned they will charge extra for some and not tell you. No onions on my food apparently meant yes please give me a whole onion. Lady that took my order clearly didn't know the menu or what went on what because the torta I got and was told had no lettuce came with a lot of wilted lettuce. Taco was so greasy it was like sitting in a grease pond. Absolutely gag worthy food. Other than that skip this place there are much better and CHEAPER options in Los Banos. read more

My wife and I always make a point of visiting this little drive-thru taco shop when driving to and back from Los Angeles. The burritos here are absolutely delicious and consistent trip after trip. We're big Mexican food aficionados! My wife was a Pan Am stewardess who flew the Mexico City route for many years so she knows true Mexican cuisine and she says Mr. Taco's veggie burritos are as good as any she's tried south of the border! I'm partial to their fish burritos - especially the one served with tartar sauce! The way I see it, it combines the flavors of Cape Cod and Cancun! Although you eat the food in your car, once you take your first bite ............. you're transported into an Oaxacan matriarch's kitchen and feel like you're eating with the entire family! Five stars for a drive thru Taqueria?!!? You're damn right! This place is as good, if not better than, Taqueria's in the bay area. I'm sad to say, but the Taqueria's in the bay area have lost their way. The menu may throw you off for a second but it is all good. The ingredients are all fresh. I do a truck run out here 3 to 4 times a month and I make it a point to stop here. The California burrito is crazy good (French fries inside), Burritos are good and the tacos crazy good. The place is clean and the people working here are friendly. You can also grab your food and eat at the shaded picnic tables. The food here takes me back to when I was young and growing up in the Mission district. The food was better back then... Update (9-21-17) I just ordered Chile Verde California Burrito! You may want to consider getting a fork and knife. Or you can be an animal like me and just hold it in your hands and destroy it. Who doesn't like licking their fingers while eating? My fiancé and I go out of our way to stop here on road trips. Seriously, it's a gem! We usually split a large order of carnitas nachos On our first visit, they forgot our order and so I went up to ask about it (about 30 mins after ordering) and the people working felt so bad that they gave us 2 free drinks and absolutely hooked us up on the portion size of our nachos. I'm talking like a 7 lb box of nachos, lol. We were in no rush so it didn't matter a whole lot, but I appreciated them making it right with the drinks and large portion size. I can't say enough about how great I think this place is. It's this tiny little building in the corner of a parking lot. It's drive thru only, although there are some tables outside. They make the best food, for the absolute lowest prices. There's nothing over $10 (ok, maybe a couple of combo plates are about $11. Maybe). Tonight I got enough food for about three dinners for $22. The burritos are huge, the garlic shrimp plate is so good I went back for it again the very next night! There is 2 drive up windows to order from . I did not know what meat to get for my burrito so I ordered a couple tacos to try meat. 1 chili verde, 1 chicken. I thought they were just ok but I didn't like it enough to want in a burrito. So I went with asada because that seems what everyone gets . I ordered 2 Mr Taco burritos asada & grilled. Burritos were huge. And had a nice ratio of all the ingredients. Asada had a good flavor but was very chewy. I ate about a quarter of the burrito and threw the rest away. Always stop by this hole in the wall taco shop on our way up to the bay. It's a drive through, there's no indoor seating. You drive up, order your food, and sometimes they'll just have you wait until your food is ready (pretty fast) or they'll tell you to pull forward if they've had quite a few orders (obviously, this will take longer, but we've waited 20-30 minutes for our order before). But honestly, the wait is worth it. Mr. Taco has the absolute most delicious tacos and burritos. Got the carne Assad burrito for about $7 and subbed beans for extra rice. This burrito was HUGE, I would say it weight 1-2 pounds. I could have probably done some bicep curls with the burrito and could've gained some muscle mass. The salsa that they put in their burritos is so deliciously spicy. I'm usually not one to go for spicy foods, but this burned my mouth in a good way. The flavor was so fresh and really just enhanced the flavor of the meats. We've also tried the tacos before and I personally think they were even better than the burritos. With the tacos, they add some pickled sauce - i think it's their picked japlepeno juice. Not sure what it is, but it's sooo good. Fresh meat, excellent salsa, delicious tacos. Now lets be honest, if you travel to the bay often you normally travel past this little spot. Im sure you have seen it and asked yourself, hmm? Well we tried it, on our way to the bay, we had a brief desire to try. It is convenient and you do not even have to get out. Ordered a bean and cheese burrito and whoa! Beans were creamy and with melted cheese, tortilla nice and warm and it all went together to satisfy my craving. My gf tried the tacos and yup tasty as well!. Their is a little seating area, however we ate on the go! I will say this is a nice little quaint spot for a quick bite! We tried a couple of the items and they were freshly made while we waited in the car. They have a huge selection for your cravings. The only thing I would change is the portions. This place is getting ridiculous with their wrong orders and price discrepancies. I ordered a mr wet burrito with asada which I told them twice. Got my order and drove home. Opened up my box and it was the regular wet burrito but they charged me for the mr wet burrito which is $2 more. Mr Taco could not be better suited to the age of covid. It's a drive-in and that is all they do. Some really great food, who's "hotness" make take a minute or two to kick in. FYI they can be quite busy at dinner time so expect to place your order and park while they make your food if there's a bit of a line. You can also call in your order. I got the California burrito with grilled chicken and my husband got the Mr. Grilled with beef. Both were very good and a larg portion for the price. I highly recommend coming here. Actually 2.5 Stars 5 Stars - Service ans order taking 2.5 Stars - Calif burrito Stop by leaving Fresno to Watsonville, CA. Ordered the Calif burrito (not like the photo a previous reviewer posted). Served piping hot, to hot to eat right away. Why the low rating? Opened half a burrito to discover 95% was french fries, a slice of avocado at the end and a scant amount of al pastor. The menu needs more details because where I'm from chimichanga doesn't have rice in it and wet is just with cheese. If I had a better description I would not have ordered it.
