This is the last taco drive thru hut westbound of 152 before hitting the I5. Price is reasonable. A lot of choices. Has an area in the back to pull over and eat. Ordered their tacos. Too greasy, but if you are wanting to spend about $2.50, this is your place.

Breakfast burrito with chorizo and bacon

Still a 10/10 always a staple for us when we pass through Los Banos, I normally not even a fan of breakfast burritos but this one is the exception. This is a unit of a burrito enough for 2 or more but flavor is not compromised by the size every bite is a 10/10!

One of my orders placed in the middle of the bag.

The food was reasonably priced. Service was good, took awhile to get our food. I was disappointed when opening my order and everything was smashed into one bag carelessly, leaving a bit of a mess and loss of appetite. It's an ok place, just wish it was a bit better with presentation and cleanliness.

Always a must stop when passing through Loa Banos. HUGE tacos stuffed with perfect carnitas and crunchy fish. The crunchy taco was fried to perfection and the carnitas mai flavorful.

I came during the week in the morning to order a chorizo breakfast burrito and I didn't even eat it because it was so damn greasy. I wouldn't even give this to my dog. It seems like every time I go the food quality just gets worse and worse. The service was also trash the girls are very rude.

Normally great food. This time I stopped as I was traveling through Los Banos, ordered an asada grilled burrito with no lettuce. Opened up the container as I was leaving town, was no lettuce, but no asada no beans nothing. A chicken burrito with rice and that was it! Sorry Mr. Taco , epic fail. read more

Awesome California burrito and Carne Asada fries! Food was cooked great and had awesome flavors. Portions were very large and could feed a very large man! Only thing that disappointed me was that it is drive through only and they forgot to put the extra salsa in the bag and I didn't realize since it was just a drive through stop for me on my way to the Bay Area. I think the quality has been dropping quite a lot lately. Two thirds of this steak quesadilla was drenched in oil and un edible. Yes, I dare say Taco Bell has has been better. You guys need to get back to quality of three years ago. I want you guys to stay in business. But I'm not happy about a gross oily mess for the price you charge. read more

I was passing by all the fast foods restaurants for breakfast and I'm glad I decided to try this place for the first time. Didn't know what to order but I wanted a breakfast burrito I ask the young girl what they had and she told me bacon, sausage and chorizo I ordered chorizo and my goodness I thought it would be a regular size like she said when I asked but it was a freakin monster I couldn't even eat half of it. I thought it would be kinda like Tacó Bell haha but I was surprised that It was great in flavor A little greasy but good. I'll be back for more. Also price was very decent only payed $5 read more

For the most, I think Los Banos is a terrible place. Why anyone would want to live there is beyond me. However, this taco stand is a gleaming light of hope in the land of The Bathrooms. The service was excellent. The young lady* behind the counter was really friendly and polite. The food was amazing. I ordered a chicken torta that was stuffed and tasty. 1st of all, this location is a DRIVE-THRU establishment for all those out of towners. Pros: good asada and shredded chicken. Sopes & tacos are tasty as well. Cons: Service-we called in and ordered lemonade & got sprite instead (which actually tasted better than the lemonade). When we arrived to pick up our order I told the cashier we wanted "green salsa" and instead they put red salsa on our food and we never got our green salsa... Beans were gross!! Tasted like charcoal, YUCK!! The rice had some crunchy spots, so go figure... read more

Hands down the BEST vegetarian burrito I've ever had! It's loaded with veggies that are very flavorful. Giving this place 4 stars only because the asada was a little dry and tough the first time we went and the second time they got one of our burritos completely wrong even after specifying my order. Me and other car mates dropped by to eat. Did not want fast food on highway so we found this little shack on Yelp. All three of us were super happy with our choices, burrito burrito and burrito bowl. Good ingredients, fresh food, large servings just an awesome Mexican food experience....sorry Taco Bell. Our server Violet was super, helpful and que Bonita . From now on, this will be my go to stop place on my SF to/from LA trips. From the I5 highway, it's an easy on easy off access. For a few minutes extra you can do so much better than corporate fast food....and support a local business. I will be back. read more

It's always tough to find somewhere good and quick to eat when driving through the 152 I'm glad I gave Mr Taco a try the little 99 cent tacos were amazing! I always judge a Tacos shop off its Pastor Tacos and And these did not disappoint. Also got a grilled chicken Mr Burrito which was gigantic. The chicken was OK I'd opt for the shredded chicken or go with Asda next time. I have a big appetite but only ate half of it. The Horchata was a bit chalky but Mr Taco is a great choice for a quick cheap bite in Los Banos read more

Fast, friendly, and good Mexican food? Yes, please! I had the fish burrito - easy enough to eat while driving and delicious, too! The juxtaposition of the sweet slaw and the savory fish was a new kind of fiesta en mi boca! It was also about as big as a Chipotle behemoth. So after a while I decided to come back and give it another shot and got let down even worse than the last time I ordered a burrito bowl.and 2 fish tacos (see attached photos) and a large horchata totaled $20.18 first I went to say I waited a long time while the lady who was taking the order was chatting it up hanging outside the window for a long time and when it was finally my time to come up to the window and order she was very simple rude and slam the window on me three times when she took my order and I finally received it I received the wrong order she gave me taquitos and my burrito bowl as for my two fish tacos and I still had to wait for the horchata after she finally gave me the correct order I was very polite and even said goodnight and thank you she said nothing and slam the window in my opinion bad cusymtomer service when I got home and checked my food again the taco was not fresh fish but was a fish stick see attached photo the burrito bowl was normal the food is okay as far as the taste but the service was so bad and this was the worst I won't be going back there again they lost a really good customer because when I go to a place I tend to spend a lot of money all the time as I purchase food for not just me but my whole family so sorry to say they will be losing great business because their customer service is really bad read more

So great. We were driving home and it was DELICIOUS. Food was made fresh and it was fantastic, well worth the few minutes wait. Kind of regret not ordering two of everything, as I had eaten my first servings so quickly and would have had a later-night snack. Also, ask for the EL NENE's shortbread cookies and support more local businesses. Mr. Taco had them for sale in the window when I last visited. read more

I originally wanted to try this place for their large menu selection. I wanted a breakfast burrito but they stop serving them after 11am. I opted for a California Burrito with pollo/chicken instead. They did not disappoint! The burrito was made fresh to order, delicious and huge. They didn't skimp on ingredients and I love the way they panini grill their burritos. It takes a while to get your food after you order but it was worth the wait and I was more than satisfied with my food. Definitely worth giving a shot. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the staff wasn't necessarily friendly and I was told that pico de gallo and avocado came in my burrito but neither was inside. read more

Wow, i was surprised. I was half expecting a flavorless meal cause i was in a rush and didn't want burgers, but not the case. Its a small, little shop but the food was great! The fish taco was thick and the sauce they used was different and complimented it well. The fries box, was huge! Cheese and meat piled over fries, they don't skimp at all. This is the biggest burrito I've ever purchased for $6.99 or less. I swear this burrito is a weapon. This burrito can kill someone by consumption or by getting hit with it. The taste is pretty decent, so all things considered it's definitely worth the money. I would've given it a solid 4 stars stars but I asked for salsa and they gave me two containers practically empty. How are you gonna give me a brick for a burrito but empty salsa containers. Make my burrito smaller and give me more salsa if y'all really want to save money. read more

I love this restaurant, This is Southwest cuisine done to perfection. Think Chevy's , but with an extensive menu and food that is actually really good. There was nothing I would change about my visit tonight- it was memorable and fulfilling. For starters , we ordered the Margherita pizza. Not quite Southwest , but it works - trust me! The pizza is wood-fired! The cheese , tomatoes and basil are fresh. Oh , and the tomato sauce they use is just right. Seriously, the pizza here rivals some pizza that I have tried at Italian restaurants. I can't wait to try more pizza creations. For my entree, I opted for the chile verde enchiladas covered in a smooth tomatillo sauce. This enchilada sauce was so tangy and the pico de gallo and guacamole topped them off perfectly. The entree comes with Spanish rice and charro beans. My wife opted for the ribeye steak fajitas , and they were fantastic. The steak was marinated well and it was tender. The only thing that could have made this dish better would be homemade tortillas . Espana's serves up high quality food. Everything that I have tried so far has been phenomenal. The service that we receive is always prompt and friendly , and the food comes out fast -but not too fast. Tonight's meal was a five star experience. I remember a big spacious restaurant that had that special ambiance of character that I didn't know existed in the small town. I remember the staff being friendly and the food being quick and consistent of expectations with what I ordered. Fast forward to yesterday, our annual trip to the game, this time with my own boys (3&5). It was getting late on the drive home so we needed to stop for dinner. I told my pops about my memory of Espana's and I wanted to stop to see if it was what I remembered. My expectations were met with exactly the nostalgic memories I had of the place. The ambiance, the staff, and food were all exactly as I remember as a child. It's really nice to have this kind of experience at this day and age where everything is corporately owned, cookie cutter, and rushed! See you again next year!

It was supposed to be made with mezcal tequila but I requested a substitution, so I'm not sure if that change was overlooked. The birria tacos were just okay. They were a bit dry and could have used more cheese for better flavor and texture. The salsa was also very thin and watery, which was underwhelming and didn't add much to the meal. Overall, the ambiance and service were the highlights of the experience, but the food and drinks fell short of expectations

My family and I were a bunch of out-of-towners staying in Los Banos as we trekked northbound. Hungry and not familiar with the area, Yelp suggested this small taco stand because of how close it was to our hotel. Passing by, this place is super charming and low key. Its basically a little kiosk with double sided drive-thru service as well as walk-up service. We stayed in the drive thru line as we looked through the super extensive menu here on Yelp. S There are so many options for food it can be difficult to decide on what to order. Service from one of the young girls that work here was great! She was polite, answered our questions, and was patient as we continued to deliberate in the car. We ended up ordering a flauta combo platter, fish tacos, bean and cheese burrito and garlic fries (we were three hungry people). After we placed our order we just ended up parking and waiting at one of the picnic tables outside. Food took a long time to come out, but we weren't in a rush so it didn't bother us too much. The family who ordered before us had a huge group and they had tons of food so that probably backed up the kitchen quite a bit. Our food was hot and we dove straight in. Fish tacos were the best thing we ordered. The fish tasted fresh, the breading was so crispy and flavorful. Flautas-- overall they were okay. Outer layer was a little crispy and the chicken insides were slightly under seasoned but meh. Less salt is probably better anyways but yeah by no means was it bad. Bean and cheese burrito, um this was as good as it could get for beans and cheese lol-- nothing mind-blowing. Garlic fries were nothing like we expected. I was expecting crispy fries with garlic and maybe cheese. The garlic fries we got were soggy because they were soaked in an odd sauce. It did taste garlic-y but i think there was just too much going on. We were all extremely full after eating and we still have leftovers. Prices were really affordable and food was very fresh and tasty overall. Service was friendly however the wait time was pretty long. Definitely recommend the fish tacos. Other than that it seems like everything else is decently good, nothing crazy but nothing bad by any means. read more

I have been a customer of Mr. Taco since (until 2021) its opening and have enjoyed their food. However, approximately three years after its launch, I had an unfortunate experience. While traveling to San Francisco for a funeral, I stopped by Mr. Taco to grab some tacos, which were the only food I had consumed that day. Shortly after arriving in San Francisco, I began experiencing sharp stomach pains, followed by vomiting. After the funeral, I checked into my hotel, but the symptoms persisted, with the addition of diarrhea. Based on this experience, I am concerned about the food safety standards at Mr. Taco, as this incident resulted in food poisoning. The cleanliness of the establishment and its staff seemed questionable, which may have contributed to this unfortunate situation. Given my experience, I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

I will change my review once I speak with the owner of this location. I'm currently filling out an application with the chamber of commerce for the city of Los Banos due to an incident that occurred at the I Street Pacheco boulevard location. The incident in which I would like to speak with the owner occurred on March 4th, 2024 at approximately 12:35 to 12:40 p.m. and it is mind-blowing. As stated earlier, I will be joining the chamber of commerce for the city of Los Banos because of that behavior in which I experienced today....that employee needs to go somewhere else with that. I have been a resident of Los Banos since February 1992 and we don't do that here in Los Banos. read more

Food is great , service is fast and customer service is awesome. I like how they're always changing they're gloves after charging and giving out orders, makes me feel safe with everything going on. I've been eating here for years so I would definitely recommend my favorite which is the mr fries , and fish tacos! read more

Hands down the best spot for tacos and a burrito the size of a Foster's beer can! Their Mr. Taco Sauce is the icing on the cake.. great location for coming into town or going out of town. Large menu full of a variety of choices for a small taco shop. read more

Drive thru and walk up only. They have a small area with picnic tables near where you can eat. Garlic fries were good, but very soggy. California burrito was really good! Food came with a Chipotle salsa that was AMAZING! read more
