wow, hands down the best mexican food i've ever had and i've been to mexico twice and have tried my fair share around here. i agree that this is definitely not a place for ambiance, in fact i saw a lot of people just get it as take-out. it is definitely cheaply priced which is also a huge plus. i've always wanted to try that chicken/rice/salsa soup and here it was unbelievable! i also got a fabulous side taco with an authentic corn tortilla with fresh spices. even the corn chips and salsa bar for choosing your dipping was incredible. read more

Everything here is amazing but I highly recommend the mole rojo, it comes with rice and beans and corn/flour tortillas. After hearing so much about Mr. Taco and looking at the menu, we had to go. Unfortunately it wasn't that good and we were disappointed. The tacos were the soggiest mess I've ever had and the ceviche was O.K. at best. Not the kind a of place to order flavorful good ceviche. Very good selection of both mexican and the more traditional american style mexican. I stuck with mexican tacos: fish, pastor, goat (too tough but plenty of meat), and chorizo. Though smaller in portions than some true mex places all were good. Fish was not fried and better too. Will definitely go back. read more

Both Roswell and Alpharetta locations are great. Chicken soup is a bit spicy than what I prefer but it's delicious. I've had quesadillas and tacos as well, which where great. read more

Mr. Taco really hits the spot! I was a little hesitant to try it after reading mixed reviews but was impressed with both the food and service. The restaurant is small but very clean, the employees do a good job of cleaning up tables as soon as customers leave so there are enough seats for incoming customers. The salsa bar is fresh and always filled to the top. I ordered the chimichanga and enjoyed every bit, it came out quickly and was very flavorful. I may try not try something new next time (the chimichanga was really that good), but I look forward to coming back! read more

Alone on a Saturday for a quick bite... the place is a hole in a mini mall. The ground beef is clean and good. The taco shells are crappy pre-made you can buy from store. Nothing special. The enchilada was okay again nothing special. The red tamitillo hot sauce from the salsa bar very good. If I never made it back here. Would be no loss. read more

Call me crazy, but I think that this place can rival some fan faves on Buford Highway. For those of you who think Rincon Latino is good-- maybe you should try Mr. Taco! Similar ambiance, but the food is actually good! I had an enchilada and a taco and I must say they were both delicious!! BF had 4 tacos (pork and chicken) and complimented them with the various salsas from the taco bar--and he RAVED. Let's get real-- the salsa bar alone is a reason to add this place to the rotation. I love the authentic tacos. A little pico de gallo, sauteed onion, and some of their amazing salsas are all you need. I usually get the carnitas, carne asada, and pollo tacos. The refried beans are great too- they even made me a little smily face when I ordered them with sour cream. I noticed they're now offering California Burritos- it's on!!! read more

If you want traditional Mexican food, or if you want something a little Tex-Mex this is the place to go. This is our go to place to get food just like my Abuela makes, salsas are the best and they have a variety so if you want to add mild or fuego they got you covered. The Best thing that reminds me of home are the chicken tamales just like my Tia's and they are the best. I've been only once but the food was absolutely amazing! I will definitely be going again. It was pretty busy when I went and the staff was quite busy so they weren't able to clean the tables immediately but it was very worth it especially with the price of the food and the quality of the meal too read more

I used to go to the location on North Point Parkway when I had an office there. Well, I did not go as often as I would like (glares at coworker), but I really enjoyed each trip, and my first trip the Holcomb Bridge was equally good. It was not huge, it was not particularly well-kept, but it was tasty (although it's hard to screw up a Molcajete!). The highlight is their large variety of salsas, my favorite being the extra hot avocado salsa. Not the place for a date but definitely the place to go to get your eat on. read more

Great asada tacos. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because, I prefer to take out tham to eat there. The salsa bar is sometimes a disaster. Yeah - the trash needed to be emptied when I went there too. And there was more fat than necessary in one of the tacos. But the recipes for everything I got were right on the money, salsas were flavorful (and not blistering hot). And it's clear they know what they're doing in the kitchen. Go get some! read more

This place is a good choice for a quick lunch. The tacos always consistent. However, be careful using a debit card I have found over a course of three months that a $1 has been added to my bill every time. Very disappointed that someone at your register might be dishonest. This place ROCKS MY SOCKS!!! So you go in and at first you might thing that it's just an hole in the wall fluke that some taco powder generic Mexican is here. Then YOU SEE THE SALSA BAR this is better than Moe's and Chipotle put together. The best part is they have so many different meats to try, goat and tongue YUM. We have been back 3 more times and everything we order we REALLY enjoy. In fact, we just can't bring ourselves to eat Mexican food anyplace else. The only negative is the name but don't let it fool you. It speaks volumes to me when the place was packed on an off night and there was only one other "American" family in the whole place. I knew then, it was genuine. All the food items we ate had a very authentic taste. FYI the Tlalpeno soup is as good as everyone raves about.
