Fast service. Salsa bar is awesome. Most of the food could use a little more seasoning. However the fajita burrito is delicious. Very inconsistent quality. I usually get fish tacos or black bean burrito. Even as simple as these are they manage to screw it up about half the time. The black bean burrito might be swimming in some soupy brown sauce with a slurry of Velveeta-like cheese of some kind. The fish tacos might be small bits of fish in a double corn tortilla. Next time I go, it could be much better, like they change cooks out and you're either lucky or unlucky as to who prepares your order. We've tried their Tlalpeno soup. First time it was excellent. The next time you would have thought we were at a different restaurant. I literally got home, opened the container and had to add chicken strips from my refrigerator. There was no, none, zero chicken in the soup at all. It was broth, veggies and spice. By the way, I get consistently good food from El Porton on Alpharetta Highway in Roswell. I have discovered from experience to keep it simple when ordering here. Mr. Taco is hit or miss in terms of quality so beware. Food is cheap, that may explain a few of the problems. read more

Tasty fast casual Mexican food for a very affordable price. I appreciate the extra effort the friendly & nice staff gives me, since I usually order their lunchtime "Speedy Gonzalez" customized for me being a vegetarian. They have a salsa bar, but you do have to order the chips. Lots of food choices. My carnivore husband raves about the "molcajete", and loves the burrito fajita. And the jalepenos, heh. I had two "hamburger" tacos and they were inedible. It tastes starchy, as if they were mixing dried potato as a filler with the hamburger, absolutely tasteless. To get my point across, Taco Bell has better tacos than this place. Yuch! read more

A friend of mine has been trying to get me to come here for a while now. Stopped in today on the way back from the range and had 4 tacos (2 chorizo, 1 Pastor and 1 beef) with rice. The Tacos were on point and the rice was amazing. The onions that came with the beef taco were very tender and sweet. The Salsa bar was definitely a plus. Service was quick and courteous. This has become my "go to" place to eat. The service is always good and the staff is very friendly. If you love authentic Mexican food that is really reasonably priced you'll love this place. The tlalpeño soup is so yummy. I've ordered many things off the menu and haven't had one bad meal yet. You know this place is good if more than half their clientele is from Mexico/Mexican decent. This is my local go to place for real Mexican. They have a huge menu. Try some of the more unusual tacos like cabeza. Their soups are the secret gem here. The tlalpeño soup is so good it will haunt you. It has shredded chicken, onions, cilantro, avocado, rice, some white Mexican cheese and a top secret chipotle pepper in one of the best chicken stock soup bases I've ever had. The little hidden chipotle pepper is the star of this soup and takes it from soup for mere mortals to soup for the Gods. The seafood soup is almost as good. Other notables are the Burrito Chile Colorado with a really good guajillo red sauce. Anything mole is very good as well. For desert get the choco flan, hand made and they run out fast sometimes. Our favorite place to go for a quick bite when we are in the Roswell area. The steak fajita burrito is my favorite and my girlfriend likes the Mexican tacos. Can't go wrong with either. Mr. Taco is a neighborhood gem. My family generally gets the special fajitas for 2, and it's more than enough to feed 3-4. Everything else I've had, including tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, have been wonderful, too. There is a good mix of authentic items "in the Mexican style," as they put it, and Americanized favorites. Oh, and their cheese dip should only be ordered WITH jalapenos, and no one in my house enjoys spice but theirs is the BEST. Mr. Taco was a complete Mr. Surprise! I've been by this restaurant many times and kept saying that it wouldn't last. Thought it would close soon after it opened based on location and the fact that it's in a strip mall next to a drug store. Weird. So I decided to try it out tonight after I had a huge craving for a burrito. Wow, it was great. The retardant was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered the steak fajita burrito and it was terrific. The salsa bar was grand with all of the salsa's being very tasty and fresh. The chips weren't homemade but everything else was great. Okay, it is a hole in the wall, but oh! what delicious Mexican treats await within. I am addicted to the talapeno soup, but the menu is big and has everything from fish to carnitas. The prices are dirt cheap and the portions good sized. The condiment bar holds lots of salsas and peppers. The TV is set to Spanish language stations. Sometimes is warm in the summer.
