Horrible food! The worst Mexican food I ever had. Went in and dine in with my family. We all order tacos and were the only ones in the whole restaurant. Our steak tacos were burnt n super greasy. My 4 year old daughter wouldn't even touch them because they look so disgusting. I send them all back and went they brought them out they were still burn. I did an online order for two steak burritos and the steak was marinated very well. Unfortunately, it took a lot longer than what they had told me and when it arrived the food was cold. However, the manger whom was a lady was very sweet and apologetic. I definitely want to check it out and dine in and will do so. They came to River North Point and they were really over priced. They give 2 small tacos with only 1 shell and charge $1.00 for cheese. I got 2 tacos and paid $7.00. It was not worth $7.00. I've had better tacos for less than that. I won't patronize this restaraunt again. read more

I had a terrible experience at the Mr Taco Fooda popup at 550 W Jackson. They consider vegetables a protein and charge $2.25 for a few onions and peppers even after I said I did not want any protein, but I guess slide through any door you can to charge that $2.25. They dropped a dirty green salsa bottle onto my taco salad breaking the taco salad and did not immediately offer to make a new one. They just added new toppings on top. It was not until I uttered disgust that they were willing to offer to make a new one to which I passed. I am not sure, but dropping a plastic squirt bottle on food seems like a health code violation. I am disgusted that they would not offer a new one without hesitation after they dropped a dirty bottle on top of the salad breaking it. Terrible experience. My husband and I LOVE Mr. Taco! We are creatures of habit and we have taco's every couple of weeks, Mr. Taco hits the spot. Very good food and they are nice too! Had a taco salad from them "on location". The menu says $6 something for a taco salad but I missed the SMALL print where if you add steak its another $3.00. EVERY bite + was ALLL lettuce,and what seemed like a tablespoon of steak IF THAT. Very disappointing that I paid over $9.00 for exactly what it says... taco SALAD... lettuce... and more lettuce... The guacamole is great too! I like this place even better than La Pasadita, which is really saying something. It is a hidden gem that not many people know about. Get the Chicken Taco's. The menu should just have Chicken Taco's on it. They pull the chicken, PULL!!!!!! I work with this polish guy who orders Steak Taco's but you do have to remember he is polish. Most places give you a chicken leg and a breast and put it on to pieces of bread, not even pumpernickel bread. I LOVE Mr.Taco's ! I moved into the area about 6 months ago & have had the chance to check out ALL the taco spots in the area. This for me is THE BEST! Very Clean, The Staff is SO kind, attentive, etc. The Food is Delicious! Some places dont seem to clean, or the food is "To Greasy", To Salty,etc..There are NONE of these issues here. My FAVORITE SPOT here is MR.TACOS!!! Anyone complaining is probably just has a stick up their you know what. Everyone I bring loves this place as well! That is All. :-) read more

He catered my daughter nd son n law wedding last weekend nd the food was ready to serve right after ceremony no waiting nd it was hot nd fresh..everything we had was yummy from the appetizers to the main course..the chicken enchillada was a little spicy with the green sauce but the flavor was really good..the chips were fresh with the fresh salsas just excellent. Though it's in the process of moving to somewhere around 1700 W. Chicago Ave. presently, I have to say their food has been really good. It's simple, inexpensive and fresh. If you go for pricey fare where phrases like "layered with Louire chevre and baby peppercorn Espagnole" are thrown around alot, then perhaps you should go somewhere else. Have been to Francisco's new place 4 times....it has fast become this "Gringo's" favorite Mexican resturant !!! the menu is great...wait staff are efficient and friendly....and the food is the freshest !!!! I love the gordita's and his guacamole is to die for !!!! I live near Evanston and think nothing of driving to this location for lunch or dinner !! Food would have been descent until I saw them recycling chips and salsa. As the waitress cleared the tables(plates, and cups) She took the Salsa dishes, and chip basket behind the counter. Once it was time to pay, I kindly asked "you guys dont throw away the chips, or salsa"? She looked at me and said "no why, the salsa dishes have spoons in them" ???WTF thats even more gross! I ordered a large licuado and it came in a brown bag inside a plastic bag, i opened it to get out the cup of licuado and it just went all over the place. the bottom of the cup was completely broken, so that went to the trash. and the little that i got to taste, tasted like complere shit. also i ordered a quesadilla...i got a taco. strike toooo many. never again will i order.
