Kip Powell If I could give this place a minus 5 I would. I had made a reservation online for an appointment this morning, Nov. 17 at approx 7:30. I checked the site to see what time they opened and it says 7:30. I arrived at 7:15 in order to be in line. No one was there at that time. Around 7:30 the tech drove in and unlocked the door. He said that he could not start servicing my car since the "manager" hadn't arrived. He then shared that the person acting as manager is the assistant manager since the manager quit along with a couple of other techs. He said the asst mgr (I think his name is Joey) didn't get up until 7:00 and lived 25 minutes away. I expressed my extreme displeasure that I had taken off work and Joey didn't plan better. The tech explained the short staffing issues and I apologized for being upset. Joey came in about 7:45. Let me back track. I was on the phone calling the local store when the tech showed up. The call was transferred to the corporate number and the agent asked to take my reservation. I told her that I already had one but no one was there. She said that she would relay that message to her manager. When I saw the tech I hung up. While waiting for my car to be serviced, Joey approached me aggressively, handed me my keys and told me that I needed to go somewhere else and that he was "refusing service". He told me that "there is a sign" at the counter and he had the right to refuse service to me because I "called corporate on (him)" and that I was not considerate of his situation. I was in fact humbled by the information from the tech that Joey had been working long days but I didn't attempt to explain that to him. To be honest, my language at that point was not kind and said in utter disbelief and frustration. I have never heard of someone refusing service because they got their feelings hurt. It is not up to the customer to be a counselor or mental health therapist in order to get an oil change. Joey and I never even had a discussion about his tardiness or situation. He formed his irrational opinion based on the fact that my call to his store was automatically transferred to corporate. I then called corporate for real and related this incident. They are sending a $30 gift card to me, which is appreciated but neither here nor there. As long as Joey is acting manager then he will have to adjust his schedule or the hours of operation to accommodate the PAYING customers. Maybe he will gain a few hours of beauty sleep and understand that he should have been considerate of my situation also read more

Went in with a Groupon for a full synthetic oil change and tire rotation. There was a lovely and helpful lady there when I arrived. When the work was done she was gone and the "manager told me I owed $73. This guy is a crook. I feel sorry for the people who work there who are honest. read more

THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY! We went in for a leaking tire, it's the holidays so we're visiting from out of town and needed it done that afternoon. Called ahead to make sure they were available. They had us wait for almost two hours only to provide a list of problems they claim they found, which did not include the tire, with total costs of $2000. We explained that we didn't have time and would just need a tire patch or replacement. Five minutes later they say there was no leak in the tire, keep in mind it was flat that morning from leaking over night, and sent us on our way. Ended up getting a second opinion and we got a new tire in less than 15 minutes at a different place. The worst part of all of this is that they lied to us and knowingly sent us out on the road with a bad tire, putting our lives and the lives of others on the road at risk. read more

I have a mini Cooper countryman and needed new brake pads but wanted to avoid having to go all the way to Greenville. I brought it to Mr. tire auto and was told they would be be able to fix it without a problem. they initially ordered the wrong brake pads, and I had to bring the car back a second time. They fixed it that time, but when I picked up the car, they told me they were unable to shut off the alarm saying the brake pads were a problem. I brought the car in to BMW to have them turn off the alarm and they told me, most likely, when the brakes were changed they didn't change the sensors which is part of the brake brake pad service for a mini Cooper. When I called Mr. tire to find out if this was true, the woman answering the phone who I believe is in charge hung up on me and then they refused to answer the phone multiple times ultimately, she spoke to me and said I would just have to bring it to Greenville, which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place. I asked if they should've been part of the service and she refused to answer. Now it's gonna cost me bringing it down to Greenville and having them charge me to replace the sensors. The people at Mr. Tire were very nice during my initial encounter, but it was inadequate and when questioned about it were rude and condescending. If I can give them minus stars I would and I will never return to their store and will tell everyone I know to avoid them. read more

Came in for a Scheduled alignment rotation and tire balance guys said that it was done didn't give me a alignment sheet I walked out to get in the car looked at the tires they hadn't been rotated so I walked back inside to ask about it he proceeded to tell me that wasn't included in the alignment cost so I told him that was fine I would pay for it he told me they didn't have time to come back today got there when they opened and asked for the alignment sheet because I just paid 150$ for the alignment yesterday and he tells me he can't print a alignment sheet and also my camber/caster shims are bad why he didn't tell me that yesterday I don't know needless to say I told them how dissatisfied I was and I got my keys and left read more

My elderly low income neighbor was having issues with her car. She decided to call Mr Tire because she normally takes it there for oil changes. Someone came out to check the car, I was present at this time. The gentleman who arrived checked the batter and attacked cables. The car turns over but didn't start after the attempted charge. After the car didn't start, the gentleman went back, checked the connections to the battery, and found that one of them was loose and needed to be tightened, stating that fact. The gentleman then suggests to the neighbor that she should sell the car. He says that if you don't have enough money to fix it, then you should just sell it. He also suggested that 150,000 miles was a lot on a car and another reason to be sold. His final suggestion was that she should have it towed to him at Mr. Tire to fix or sell. But, the problem with the car is not a super expensive one that warrants someone selling their car instead of trying to fix it. Most likely it's a spark plug or fuel problem. Right around that time, AAA, whom I had called separately, showed up. The gentleman from Mr. tire couldn't get away fast enough when AAA did pull up. He didn't even take the time to tighten the wire he said was loose and needed to be tightened. Seeming doubtful of my discussion with Mr Tire guy, I discussed the conversation we had with the AAA gentleman. The AAA guy was suspicious of the Mr. Tire's remarks on her selling her car and suggested to not sell and to write a review on the incident. Either Mr. tire guy didn't know what he was talking about and that his go to answer was to sell, or he knew he was taking advantage with an elderly, low income person. If you're looking to get that stereotypical car mechanic price gouge sprinkled with insults and condescension, go to Mr. Tire on Tunnel Road. If I could give negative stars, I absolutely would. I came here to get my state inspection done, and they joyously failed me for my tires. They told me I needed all four tires replaced before they would pass me, and offered no further details. They quoted me a ridiculously high price for tires, because that's the "only tire in my size in stock". After I refused to buy four new tires on the spot that day, I went to another tire location to get a second opinion. The second opinion said that one of my tires was almost bad, but definitely not all four. After replacing my tires at another location and returning to Mr. Tire to get the inspection completed, the staff at Mr. Tire made jokes about not passing me since I didn't buy the tires at their location. They also conducted a full second inspection instead of just confirming that my tires would now pass, after everything else (except my tires) passed the first time. Everything I've seen has said they were only supposed to inspect the tires during this second "inspection", so I was less than thrilled when I was told my car would fail inspection if I didn't replace additional bulbs. When I pressed, the staff said "well we could fail you on your breaks too...". I bought the bulbs and let it go. I felt uncomfortable the entire time I was there because of the way they spoke to me. I was DREADING going back to finalize my inspection, and this interaction confirmed that feeling. The way they spoke to other customers was equally as concerning, not to mention the fact that they would openly trash-talk customers once the customer left or got off the phone. I will never go back, and I will advise anyone to avoid this place. read more

I made an appointment for an oil change and inspection. They had to move my appointment up a week for whatever reason-no problem. I dropped it off at my appointment time at 2 and they told me I could pick it up at 4:30. 4:30 comes and they hadn't even gotten to it. No call, nothing. This is after I took an hour out of my day to walk to drop it off and pick it up. They were also very rude and masks were barely worn. Also when I tried to call all day to check on it, they just put me on hold after hold. When I was in there-turns out that whenever they got a phone call they just placed it on hold. I've never had such bad customer service. Now my registration is going to be late. read more

This is definitely a case of wishing I could give negative stars. What a truly horrible experience. I brought my car here for a routine oil change and inspection. My check engine light was on, as it has done endless times during the 18 years in which I have driven this car. It is a very common issue with my specific car and was even acknowledged by the co-manager who was checking me in for my appointment. In all of the previous years, including past experiences at this same auto center, it's been a simple clear of the light, drive for 50 miles, return and inspection complete. Not today. 3 hours spent waiting while I had the opportunity to hear the co-managers say disparaging remarks about the previous management to every customer who came in and also heard them upsell every customer on "oh you need a new battery", "your brakes are shot", "you need new tires", etc. This included them informing me that suddenly all of my brake lights were out, that I had a worn belt "which was dangerous" (when I asked which one - "Uh, I'll have to go check"), even new windshield wipers when my husband replaced them less than a year ago, and of course two new tires. When my husband stopped by to check on why it was taking so long, everything changed. The sugary sweet manager no longer made any contact with me and the mechanic said we could certainly wait on the tires, belt, and windshield wipers. Hmmm. Unfortunately my husband had to leave, so I was stuck there for over another hour waiting only to be told my car failed the inspection and it would be over $300 to fix the issue with my check engine light and, oh by the way, that won't last and you'll need to get more work done, but the DMV recognizes that's a lot of money, so "that won't be an issue." Over $250 later, my day off blown in a waiting area listening to them talking about customers behind their backs, including a woman who supposedly taped them doing the same thing I was hearing. The final insult came when I turned on my turn signal for home only to discover it no longer works. Please do yourself a favor and find a reputable, honest auto care company. read more

Valerie, the manager is fun and pleasant. Went in for oil change. They recommended rear brakes and rotors for $532. I hesitated, the rate dropped to $462. I left. Got 2 other consultations, both said it was front brakes that were needed (which made more sense). Got work done for $372 including tax. Glad a brake problem was identified, glad I got a much better price elsewhere for work that really needed to be done. read more

Did a haphazard job on my exhaust which cost me a lot of time and money. Charged a lot and didn't even do a complete check when replace my the part. Just removed the old part and replaced it without doing a systems check, which is standard on a fix like this according to other trustworthy mechanics. If they had done the job correctly from the start, I wouldn't have had to get towed home, then towed away from these idiots to the shop that did the job right and fixed their shoddy work. Took it to them when it broke down and instead of fixing Their mistake, they told me it would take a an entire overhaul of the exhaust system to be fixed, which was completely false. All facts here. I went in for an oil change and tire alignment and was told it would take about 2 hours. At the 2.5 hour mark they came out and gave me car back and said they couldn't do the alignment. Wasted my only morning off with these jerkoffs and still didn't get what I came for. So basically they took almost 3 hours and didn't do anything but am oil change. Completely unprofessional and inconsiderate to their customers. As a longtime customer, I WILL NOT BE BACK. read more

My fiancé went here a few days ago to get her oil changed, and after that they told her she needed 2 new tires, brake pads, alignment, and also a new battery.. they told her battery life percentage was at 0... like how is that possible if we never had a problem starting up the car. I mean if you going to lie to somebody at least come up with a better one. Also she got her brakes checked a couple months ago from a different car shop and they told her that the pads looked great like brand new. But anyways I don't appreciate them trying to take advantage of her cause she is woman, but she didn't pay for anything but the oil change. She will never go back there again. read more

BAD VIBES! BAD RESULTS! RIP OFF REPORT! If you are looking to get ripped off, this IS THE PLACE TO GO!!! I am HORRIFIED by the service, after spending $1300 with a lifetime warranty, I drove away with really bad alignment, I went back and to ask them if they could check the alignment because it was SO bad! I never felt such a rocky ride as I did AFTER buying brand new tires from them. The first time I went back an old lady who was coughing on me without a mask was so rude and so sick, should NOT have been working there, I actually did NOT FEEL SAFE! She was hacking and hacking and hacking just trying to ask her to fit me in, but she declined and said come back tomorrow. Well, I came back and they were "too busy" to fit me in. I was so upset as I didn't feel safe driving with the misalignment. Well, I called back to make an appointment and after buying a LIFETIME WARRENTY and handing them $1300, they said they have to charge $150. PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE! THEY ARE TOXIC and LIARS! Be careful going here. I went for a Standard Oil Change and they emptied my transmission and left it empty then added an extra 4.8 quarts of oil to my engine, so my engine had double the oil and no transmission fluid. I drove off and my car shut down so I took it back to them and told them what was going on. They admitted what happened and refilled my transmission but took no responsibility about the fact that they destroyed my transmission. I have a subaru wrx btw. Well like 4 months later im now dealing with a blown transmission! I have gone to them for years for oil changes and tires and other services. They gave me a 500 mile warranty but if you know anything about transmissions then you know that warranty they gave me was a joke. My car ran perfectly before they did this. I will never take it back there and i hope people see this and heed my warning cause they took no responsibility and now im replacing a transmission on a car that only had 90k miles on it. They also tried to tell me that driving it like that just for that little bit wouldnt have messed up my transmission but i talked to 3 other real mechanics and they all told me that i would be having replace the transmission very soon and that they should have replaced it but they treated me like i was stupid and didnt know anything about transmissions. Not to mention when they refilled my transmission they did it and improperly, they just dumped all the fluid in at one time and that isn't how you refill it. My car was pretty new and never had any issues. So thanks guys for doing right by your regulars who come to have you service their vehicles! So not only am I paying for the remaining $17k on my brand new car, I'm now having to pay another $6-$7k for a transmission and I'm going to have to pay around $3k to get a lawyer and sue these guys! LADIES BEWARE - AWFUL EXPERIENCE! Nail in right rear tire; stopped at 32 Tunnel Rd location to have it plugged. Charlie Terry, Assistant Manager, took a quick glance and told me it couldn't be repaired. Not only could it not be repaired but Charlie Terry told me I had to replace the tire AND not just one but all FOUR tires. When I asked why (as a joke because I knew he was full of it), he said because you have all-terrain tires and you can't replace just one. WHAT??? He then had the nerve to quote me a price for 4 new tires. This guy is a complete ASS and should be ashamed of himself! Even worse, Charlie Terry, did all of this right in front of my 15 y/o daughter. UNBELIEVABLE! I told her to remember this situation as some people will try to take advantage of you! Complete rip off artists. I needed Coil Packs, Spark Plugs and Fuel Servicing. Tried to charge me $760, went down to $629 after I said that was pretty outrageous. I had to tow it 80 miles to my home town to get it to a guy I trust, they fixed it for $230. I told them when I still had my car there that my guy is saying it should be around $250 for what was wrong. The lady at the front desk said he probably wasn't considering the Coil Packs because those are so expensive. I called my guy and he told me they are $80 bucks. Sketchy place... They way overcharged me for my inspection earlier in the year too. I just wish mechanics could be honest. I only go to the guy in my home town because he knows my family. read more
