This by far has to be worst tire shop in America. Went yesterday to have a nail hole patched in my tire. My tires were bought brand new three months ago. They tried to tell me that they couldn't patch it because i didn't have enough tread. My tread is fine I barely drive the truck. I was interested in buying mud tires while I was there though so I asked the receptionist if they had any. She said she has no ideas what tires were available and to look on website. Note I was only person in store not busy at all. At this point I realized how terrible the store was so I asked for my truck back to take elsewhere. I Waited 15 minutes still no truck. I asked the 460 lbs sloth of a receptionist what hold up was. She responded to wait longer. Didn't even waste the 10 calories to open door and ask. When I finally got truck back the worker told me I had 90 PSI in my front tires. I had checked before I went to shop and it was 67. Went to another shop called grannadas or something similar down the road. They took great care of me. Would recommend them if you need anything. read more

No stars. This morning, Saturday, September 27, 2025 I went to the Mr. Tire located at 10398 Southern Maryland Blvd in Dunkirk Md. I had a 9AM tire appointment. I walked in a greeted the 2 women that were at the counter. It was a friendly exchange at first as they helped me 2 weeks prior when I was there to assist me with getting a spare due to a leak. I asked them about the hamster they had at the desk. Simultaneously, my husband and 17 year old son made their way into the store to drop my new set of 4 tires inside to have them replaced. I was telling them that my son had a visit today so it would be a drop off appointment and one of the women (Nancy I'm being told) behind the front desk said to me "to jail?" as if our visit today would be to take my 17 year old black son to jail. I immediately said, no college! That statement made me concerned but I had to hold my composure while emotionally inside that statement was overwhelming as a mother. I told her he is a very good child and plays sports. I asked why would you think my 17 year old son would be visiting jail today? She gave me some bs story about a previous customer. She tried to say another customer was taking their son to a jail visit so she thought it was a new program.... My response was that I don't know anyone in jail and thank goodness none of my family and friends have experienced such a life. I also told her all of my older children are successful ( college educated or in the union) and that my 17 year old son will be going to college as well, not jail! I told her don't let her president get her twisted, my son was not birthed to be a criminal and that comment was extremely disrespectful. Please educate your employee that customer service and experience is everything and that labeling customers children as criminals is disrespectful, disgusting and should never be tolerated. I have been a customer of Mr. Tire for years. I hope her racial bias and behavior is not a depiction of your company. I hope she is counseled on such disrespectful behaviors. read more

I scheduled online to have them mount/balance 4 new wheels tires. I called the day before my appointment and they confirmed I was good to go. When I arrived and asked them where they wanted me to unload the wheels/tires, the guy asks to see them first. I pull one wheel out of the box, he says "we don't mount tires on black wheels". A wheel/tire shop said this. What a fantastic waste of my time. I will not be coming back again. read more

I had an exceptional experience at this Mr. Tire location. The staff was kind, quick and helpful. I appreciate them getting me in to have my tire patched after calling eight other tire shops in the area (no exaggeration). This was the only location that was willing to take me next day. All others were a three day wait for an appointment to do a simple tire patch due to a nail puncture. I get it...why bother with my little $35 job, when you can make way more taking appointments for other services?! Well, that is the very reason why I definitely will return for additional service in the future. They didn't think my job was too little and were happy to fit me in. I recently had a horrible experience with Mr Tire in Dunkirk. I have been going there for many years and for the most part, had reasonable service. In the last year or so, there have been several changes in employees that has caused a negative change in service. I will not go there again after my recent poor experience. The experience had to do with attempting to purchase new tires. Over the years , I have bought around 10 sets of tires for several cars. I began by using the Mr tire website to look up the tires I needed. I called the store and asked about the tires and was told I could get them the next day but I had to put down the full cost for the tires. This is a new policy. The next day I was told the tires would be there Monday. I setup an appointment on Monday and brought the car and began to wait. After 30 minutes, I was told there was a minor snag - I ordered the wrong tires. I told him I took the information from the Mr tire website. He said it happens all the time. He said he could get the correct tires but they would cost more. He would have to refund my money and then I would have to pay for the newer more expensive tires. The refund would take 7-10 business days. We argued a bit over whose fault it was and he finally told me he would not get the correct tires. He gave me the refund receipt and I asked for his supervisors phone number. He refused my request and told me to call the corporate office. I did. They said the manager at Mr Tire was wrong and it was his responsibility to make sure the correct tires are ordered for the customer. He said he would speak to the district manager and someone would call me within 48 hours. That was 2 weeks ago. Still no call and I've called them 3 times about getting my refund (over $1000). Each time they tell me it will be 3-5 days. Still waiting. I would stay away from Mr Tire in Dunkirk and the Monroe corporation in general. read more

This location is terrible. My normal tire shop is closed, so I go down the street to these guys to have 4 new tires mounted onto 4 wheels I carry in.... First they hit me with the "we are required to replace the TPMS hardware (o-ring)" BS... but I'm jammed up for time, so yeah yeah whatever. (Extra $30 per tire because lifetime balance and rotate, that will never get used) But, whatever I have family flying in and need this done today... pic up the wheels; all 4 wheels are damaged and over inflated inflated to 45psi. $225 to Mount and balance 4 tires, and a bonus of getting all four wheels damaged. The manager tells me they have two people working for him because other employees leave after just a couple weeks.... Wonder why. Avoid, avoid, avoid. read more

Wow...I was nervous because of so many bad reviews but we needed some place close with everything shut down and they didn't disappoint. Two new tires and alignment, no additional services recommended after a thorough check. They did make a recommendation for a few months down the road. I'm ok with that. They gave a detailed review of our vehicles status and we were not asked to do more than we needed. You have gained a local customer. Thanks for being honest and reasonable. Bought tires got the car back they said the tire sensor was bad they couldn't fix it we had to take it to the dealer to reset the dash .so I talked to my brother-in-law that was in the business for 30 years so he talked to them told us bring it back they would fix it. Took back the next day he said there was no sensor in the tire that he could not fix it . He told me that the dashboard light had to be on when I originally brought car in I said it was not was told to get out of store said ok I would not recommend this place if they were the only tire place in dunkirk. Also, did not treat me like "The Little Mrs", they spoke to me, about my car, and not once implied that they or I should speak to my husband about it. I also stated I did contact your corporate office. Your store manager, Kevin is the one who admitted your technician did not connect the sensors the first time. He had to do it himself when I came back the SECOND time. I didn't dare bring it back a THIRD time after I called yet again about the sensors going off. Another location verified that NONE of the tires had the proper tire pressure nor was the variant tire pressure for the front versus the back tires even done. It was SHODDY work and even worst follow up customer service. But I see why Kevin manages the place the way he does because clearly your not accepting responsibility.... you didn't even bother to fully read my review which clearly indicated I had already done everything you took the time to write in your reply. Both times I've scheduled an appointment at this Mr. Tire I've waited thirty minutes in the front just for someone check me in or what have ya. No one ever comes. So it's a waste of time. Never have I left a poor review about anything but this seems too inefficient not to be shared. Yet again, I'm leaving without my tire being fixed even after having a scheduled appointment. Came here to swap out my winter tires with my regular set and it was one of the smoothest no-hassle transactions I've had in a long time with an automotive business. I was a little cautious and prepared for the worst having seen the reviews and perhaps it's warranted for more extensive work, but they had me in and out in about 20 minutes. This was after they asked whether I would be waiting or coming back later, seeing that I was staying around 20 minutes seemed reasonable. Being in a shopping center means there's plenty of stores to kill time in, but they also have a waiting area with a sofa and TV to wait in as well. read more

I will not be bringing my car here again. They charged me over $140 to diagnose the problem with my car (which they stated they would take off from the bill if I had the work done there), and then quoted me almost a grand - that included discounts to fix my car, and said that the part would be in in 3-5 days. Labor without discounts was quoted at $150/hour, and they said it would be a 5 hour repair. I had my car towed here because they were the only mechanics I knew in the area. I shopped around for different mechanics, and ended up having my car fixed at Town Square Auto across the road. They had my car back running in 2 days, and at a third of the price. I highly recommend Town Square. This Mr. Tire, not so much. read more

Brought my son's car in to get two new front tires. Great customer service, and they didn't try to sell me anything extra. Did a good inspection on the other tires and the brakes and said everything was good. I hate going into maintenance shops and all of a sudden there are 10 other things that need to get fixed. That did not happen here at all, dropped it off and picked it up an hour and a half later. My son could feel the difference immediately when he started driving his car and was very pleased. It doesn't matter if I had a flat tire or my alternator suddenly failed, they promptly assist me and get me back on the road. I highly recommend their services and will continue to be their customer. Had an unexpected blowout and knew it would probably mean 4 new tires due to their age. Got a tow to Mr. tire unbeknownst to them. Was able to call them at open to let them know. Got a call back from the manager on duty, Madeline. She was very knowledgeable and presented all my options. She presented all the tire options that we're currently in stock and what they could order. She gave me the pros and cons on a couple sets and I ultimately chose one. The new tires, alignment, and oil change were done by lunchtime. Unbelievable turnaround time and very happy with the feel of the new tires. Madeline was exceptional in representing Mr. Tire, her customer service was comforting during a stressful situation, and made everything easier at the end. I now give this location a two cause twice I made a appointment for both cars mine and my wife's and both times they told us they couldn't see us cause one time they were over booked and they didn't see my appointment (they only saw my wife's appointment) even after I showed my app were I made the appointments and nothing so rescheduled for the following Tuesday so we went a second time and we gave our story and the gentleman behind the counter said I'm sorry to tell you this we can't see you cause we have no one here (When the lady the first time that made the appointment she said her self o it was going to be done she guaranteed it and was really sorry.) Both times the appointments were made for 1730/530p and they are no where near closed. Will not be back to this location cause it SUCKS. I'll be nice & give them 2 stars. I bought my tires online from Tire Rack & had them sent directly to their shop. I was able to get an appointment right away, and the price was right. I had brought the car in later during the day, and after about 3 hrs I was wondering what was taking so long. I gave them a call to find out the status & was told my car had been finished for a while, but no one thought to call me. I then show up, and they have no idea where my tire registration card & warranty are that is always sent with Tire Rack's tires. They never found it, but insisted there wasn't one sent, and almost acted like I was the moron. Overall, not impressed with their customer service. Oh, I was able to pick up my car right before closing and when I walked in the store it totally smelled like one of them had been smoking in there. Yeah, very professional. Next time I need my tires rotated, I'll probably drive an extra 20 min just to avoid that shop. read more

We have been using Mr. Tire in Dunkirk for years with no complaints until recently when new management took over. Every year I take our three vehicles in to change from winter tires to regular tires. This year I did the same and they turned down my business because I did not buy the original tires from them. The tires I wanted put on were the original tires that came with the car with only 6300 miles on them. The manager gave me some BS about Mr. Tire's policy of not being responsible for warrantee if the tires were not sold by them. I called corporate and they said it was only a local policy by the manager in an effort to increase tire sales. Maybe I will consider going back once they realize they made a mistake hiring this new manager. read more

UPDATE: Following my Yelp post, Mr. Tire Cus. Service challenged me to contact them directly. I called; restated my issues; and after about 10 days, the store manager called me to schedule a resolve. There was no apologetic tone, but nonetheless, we moved forward and he made arrangements for me to have my repair work done at a different Mr. Tire location. He even sent the parts to the new location so that they'll be available when I arrive. Those guys at the Gambrills, MD location were awesome! I was in & out in under an hour and my car feels great! I paid the amount I was anticipating from my first visit, so I am happy with the end result. read more

Avoid this place. If I could have given them 0 stars I would. This shop completely ruined my wife's wheels on her less than 3 year old van. They failed to properly set up there tire machine and as a result scoured all 4 wheels around the outside edge of her rims. I took it back to them and explained that the van was not like this when I had dropped it off and the store manager told me that it looked like my wife may have hit a curb. I asked him to please explain how that was even possible. (The wheels were scoured in the same spot around the entire rim on all 4 wheels) This place is ridiculous. I even tried to go one step further and contact there main headquarters. I left messages and never received call backs. Whatever you do don't do business with these people. Scott was great but the bald headed service tech and the general manager are trash the service tech went through my my car sprayed my air freshener all over my screen in my car all over my gear shifter and my center console and there was a puddle of it in my cup holders. I looked in my back seat and noticed that stuff was moved around and out of place I know because I had stuff set on top of my jackets that I had in my back seat that was then under the jackets and the bag of car cleaning supplies I have in my back seat was opened and once I got home my trunk wasn't opening and after I called the general manager was trying to act big and bad and after I said I'll come up and talk to the service tech and show them the trunk isn't opening I was told and I quote " no need for that your escalating this into something it doesn't need to be " he refused to try and accommodate what I was requesting once he asked what can he do to make it right and I told him to see if he can open my trunk and he said " the tech did not go in your trunk but I can't verify or deny that he did or didn't " and then they gave me a cheaper tire than I requested. I would not be going back to this establishment and I DO NOT recommend this place to rice a tire on a wheelbarrow. read more

Mr tire in Dunkirk Maryland is a complete joke the fact that they won't put OME parts on unless you pay for there over priced parts is ridiculous they won't even put on tires unless you buy them from their store they need to change the name to Mr ripoff and the manager is very rude and likes to make his customers feel stupid very disappointed in this branch of mr tire the one in Edgewater Maryland is 100% better terrible experience from employees and manager. read more
