Be prepared to wait longer for your vehicle, even with an appointment. It wasn't a deal-breaker, but it's something you as a customer should plan around. They also pushed a front-end alignment. I get why it's recommended, but it definitely felt like an upsell, since it was already included in my price sheet printout, adding an extra $150.00 to my expected price. I took my car in due to a slow leak in my front tire. I was told that my tie had a nail in the side of it, and that I would not only need a new tire, but that all of my tires were bad, that I obviously hadn't taken care of the tires (I had my car worked on at the dealership in June) and it was going to cost from $2,000.00 to $3,000.00 to buy new tires, their warranty etc. I took my car to Weber's the next day. There was a nail in my tire, but not in the side of it. Weber's repaired the tire at no cost, and told me that my tires should be good until late spring or early summer. RUN RUN RUN! read more

I was driving and ran over something in the middle of the road and my skid plate underneath my car came loose and started dragging on the street. I pulled over to see if there were any repair shops open on a Sunday afternoon at 2:30pm. Luckily Mr. Tire was open and only a mile away from where I was. The front desk guy came out to my car to take a look and pulled it into the bay. They reattached my skid plate and I was in and out in 45 minutes without any upsell. As I result, the 5:30 appointment was not made in the place I asked and showed up at. ============================================ Unfortunately, customer service is declining here. #1: the week of 9/15, I took the Honda in for state inspection. I asked how long it will take. The answer I got was "take a seat". I asked again, adding "maybe I'll go for a walk". "Go for a walk, we'll call you" was literally the response. About an hour later, having not received a call, as I returned, I noticed a paper on the dashboard and a new sticker in my car. The service man who exchanged with me earlier was helping the (new) service woman with another client's paperwork. As he sees me in, he shared an embarrassed laugh and said "your car is ready, I was just about to call you." My take is that my car has been ready (there was no wait when I brought it in 1 hour ago), they just decided not to/forgot to call me. #2: on 9/23 on my way home from a day's work in DC, I called about a yellow indicator in the Toyota. The man I talked with scheduled me for 9/24 at 5:30 pm. Today 9/24, I hurried to leave work to make this appointment. I arrived a few minutes before the appointment time. The same (new) service woman was at the desk (alone this time) and nonchalantly responded "he left for the day" when I told her that I have an appointment. When I expressed my confusion, she added "he just left 2 minutes ago, his kid is sick". And how come no one call me to inform me... "I was just about to call you." And the pile of lies and carelessness continued. I am a female and I went to get an oil change here. Oil change went fine, but as I was checking out, I was told I needed new front brakes which cost $800. Today, I went to Sunset Hills Automotive (they have brakes for cheaper there and a friend of mine recommended this place) and they said my brakes are working at 70% and I don't need new brakes. They charged me $110.58 for a diagnostic after they made up several things that were wrong with my car when there was only one problem, which made the diagnostic more expensive. And they were gonna rob me of 1,732.44 for the car parts pretending to put them in my vehicle and fix the so called "issues". Just stating the facts: 1. I called several days in advance to ask the price for tire mount, balance and install - guy on the phone said $32/tire and book an appointment online. 2. I did just that for 1pm on Friday. 3. Got here on time at 12:55pm and a different guy said it's $36/tire. Check in process took until 1:20pm 4. Car sat out front until I asked what was going on at 1:45pm and then they drove it in. 5. Car was ready at 3pm. 6. I went home and noticed that the two of tires were mounted onto the wheels in the wrong direction. Directional tires require just a bit more thinking when installing! 7. I came back and was told it will take another 1-2 hours to rectify because the one tech on duty just went on a 45-min break. Just stating the facts. It's past 4pm and I'm still sitting here waiting and my car is still out front. You would think that a store that calls itself "Mr. Tire" is a tire expert and would realize the difference between directional and regular tires. I definitely won't be coming back. read more

I had such a great experience the first time that I came back. I needed an oil change and this business not only does an oil change but includes other features such as a tire rotation for free. Hence why I chose it in the first place. I dropped off my car at 6 and they finished in less than an hour. The staff was also very helpful, attentive, and easygoing. Made appointment and got a guarantee on the price for four tires. Showed up prior to the appointment, got a second guarantee on the price and the CSR said it would be ready in 2 hours. Showed up 2 hours later and my car hadn't moved. CSR said I was next in line and come back before they closed at 7pm. Left for home and 20 minutes later CSR calls back and says the tires they promised at $613+ tax were now $1044. I made an appointment to get an oil change. When I showed up, they are working on so many cars, They said I was gonna have to drop it off for three hours which I couldn't do. Isn't the whole reason to make an appointment so that you can arrive and they can work on the car right then and there? oil changes only take 15 to 30 minutes. I wish I had seen this review before dropping my car. It's been three days of agony, and my car was out of service for simply purchasing a new set of tires and have it installed here. Stay far far away from this place. They have some people at the front counter they appear to be overly friendly but it's all smoke and mirrors. My wheel is badly scratched up and one new tire just installed went flat within a day. They had a chance to make it right the next day, when I drove to the shop again but they had no idea when they can check my tire. They have no concept that you are left with undrivable car due to their incompetent work and they need to address it as a top priority. They rather take in new customers. Seriously, how long does it take to find a leak and remount a single tire? At this place, it takes full two days and hours of waiting. On top of that, they wanted me to pay again for replacing failed valve and mounting service, knowing how much trouble I went through. After a long argument, I did not pay it. What I found after getting my car back after the fix was even more shocking or should I say hilarious. They inflated rear tires to 46 psi. They had it correctly set all 4 to 38 psi after the initial installation by comparison. After getting home, I went to let some air out, and found my upgrade metal valve caps hanging by one turn on the thread. They just fell off as soon as I touch them. What kind of people do stuff like that. On Google, they have one of the highest ratings of any tire shops in the area. Google reviews are crap. So many reviews for this store look so out of place with short generic description. We all know what that means. Oh, and they also tagged on hazard protection plan without asking. It's good that I caught it. Also, tried so hard to sell alignment and brake pads replacement which I didn't need. Hopefully, some people will find this review useful. read more

I needed a new set of front tires for my car due to having a bubble on the sidewall of one. Mr Tire didn't have the tire in stock. They let me know that they would have it delivered to their store by the end of the business day. The following morning I went in first thing when they opened at 730am and dropped the car off to have the two new tires installed. I got a call around 11:45am telling me the car was ready. Tires were installed correctly and balanced properly. I met three employees while at the shop and all were very kind and helpful. read more

I personally had a wonderful experience with them. I'm honestly so confused by the negative reviews bc I honestly don't write reviews for car places just bc it's really hard to find a good reliable place. What I can say is that the staff here really cared for my car and took the extra step out of their way to make sure my car was good. The staff was so nice even telling me the address to the location over the phone. These are all simple yet things that not lot of car places really do from my experience and I say try it. If you want honestly staff who will really care for your car, give this place a try. I highly highly recommend it. I would also like to note that the service did take little longer but also my car was not in the best shape and for them to test drive and go the extra step to make sure it was aligned is the reason why I really liked this place. I came in to get new tires and an alignment a few months ago, and today I was rotating my tires and noticed that one of the tires is unevenly worn. Suspension components are all intact, so it's not that. it's the alignment instead. I spent way too much to have tires wear out like this in barely 3 months, so let me tell you everything they did wrong during my visit: - Before ordering tires on TireRack, I called the store and they told me that the price quoted on the website would be the price I paid. That's not the case when I came in as they snuck in nearly $50 in random fees. - I came in with specific alignment numbers, and told them specifically if it's not this I don't want it. They did the alignment and it wasn't what I asked for, the guy kept on trying to argue with me saying this is what the computer thinks is good, and that my camber isn't adjustable unless I buy "aftermarket accessories". What? - Charged me for new TPMS installation. I do not have a Tire Pressure Monitoring System on my car, it's 21 years old. - Inflated my tires to 43 PSI. More than double of what's supposed to be there. Easy fix whatever, but if you can't be bothered to open up my door and look at the sticker at least ask how much pressure should be in the tires. - Charged me for "new valves". Maybe they installed new used valves that happened to look the same as the ones I had on, but they definitely did not change them. - I don't even think they even balanced my tires. Ever since the new tires and "alignment" my car pulls to the side and legitimately bounces on the road at highway speeds. The sheet they give you is meaningless as I highly doubt the machine is calibrated. - When I bought my car it already had curb rash on the rims, but they scratched my rim more, I didn't mind much because at that point I was fed up with talking with them, but this is extremely unacceptable. I expect my car to come back with no additional damage done to it. read more

He expressed irritation and cold tone every time I gave him all informations. Okay, it's fine because it's July 4th and I know how much they want to have a relax day. I tried to understand him while he was inserting an information what he needed. And when he asked "Do you want to have a standard installation? or special installation?" Then I said a "Can you make a standard installation?" And he said "Of course you are going to do that" Really???? What kind of attitude is that? Do you guys train and teach a customer like this way?? |Had to have all 4 tires replaced on my vehicle. i am going to be honest with you all. I made an appointment the earliest posible because i had things to do later with my daughter. When i arrived to dropped the vehicle off i was not told in advance when i made the appointment that the mechanic was not going to arrive until 10am. I left the vehicle and took a Lyft home. Had to. Return a few days later because they did not do a great job at balancing my tires. The customer service was not the greatest the first time i was there. The second time it was a older Hispanic gentleman. He was really nice but the other guy that was there with him was really anal. Now i had to talk to my regular mechanic because I wasn't understanding what was happening with my car. This was the reason i when back to Mr.Tire. Finally i had a young guy take my car back to have the tire balanced. I also had the head mechanic Charlie over look his job just to put me at peace,not that Alvin was not going to do the job right. But| because it was my second time there. Charlie because of you i am giving you 5 stars but this location needs to improve there customer service. read more

Said my son needed new axels ($2700) or car wouldn't drive, then less than 2 hours from the shop the axel popped out causing fluid to leak from the specific axel they replaced on 95 South. Stranded for 5 hours, no money back, car is now mechanically totaled and costs over $10,000 to fix. I've lost over $13,000 and no one seems to care! And to top it off, we don't even live in VA. These negative reviews are really a shame; I almost wonder if some of these individuals don't understand how this industry works/operates. I am not an expert, by any means, but I do have a little bit of some understanding (thanks, dad). My experience at Mr. Tire today, was completely opposite of these most recent, negative reviews. It's worthwhile to keep reading and find out why. As a young, single mother of two littles, finding a reputable and trustworthy shop (who doesn't see me & then see dollar signs, OR won't take advantage of the fact that I have ZERO knowledge about the industry) to take my car for routine maintenance (and not-so-routine maintenance) is one of my worst anxieties. I really feel like I hit the jackpot with Mr. Tire. Walking in, I was greeted promptly by Tom. I'm assuming he is the manager, or one of them, but I'm not certain. If he's not, he should be. His customer service was amazing. The reason for my visit was just to update my Virginia inspection; and as per usual, I waited until the very last day possible to do this. I was very thankful as they squeezed me right in. This was especially impressive as there were other customers coming in & out, and I naturally assumed they were very busy. Nevertheless, I was assured by Charlie, the gentleman who would be completing my inspection, that it wouldn't be too long of a wait. I waited about 35-40 minutes in the lobby and chatted with Tom for a bit. He was extremely friendly and talked openly about his home country, Germany, his once-a-year visits back home, and even talked about our families, some. About halfway through, Charlie called me out into the garage to point something out that was concerning, but not at all dangerous or nothing that needed to be fixed immediately. I was sincerely impressed by his thoroughness and thankful that he didn't take advantage of the fact that I honestly wouldn't have known any better, and he could have upsold me and really "taken me for a ride". When the inspection was complete, I paid, and Charlie had already pulled my car around front. I even went ahead and had them price out the cost for 4 new tires--including alignment and the whole package. I've been "shopping" around the area for the best price, and it came as no surprise to me after my experience there today, that they have the best deal, hands down, for this service. Whether you're a lady who needs to get a clue, or maybe you're even a lady who knows a thing or two about cars; maybe you're a dude and you can't remember the last time you paid someone to do your oil change for you. They broke my car, lied about it, and refused to fix it!!! Full Story: I called on a Saturday morning, and asked if I brought my car over right away for an oil change, could they do it while I waited. They said yes. When I got there, the small waiting room was filled with people, which was surprising to see during covid. The man behind the counter said, after complaining to me about wearing masks/covid/Fauci/etc, that it wouldn't be ready till end of day. -bad scheduling, no covid concern, unprofessional I came back when the car was ready and was surprised, they had nothing to say about the health of the car. Since they were supposed to do a courtesy inspection, I was surprised when they had no comment to either offer more services or confirm no additional services needed. I drove out of the parking lot and immediately noticed the check engine light and repair lights were on, and the car was misfiring, and there was no il service sticker. I immediately turned around and brought the car back, and told them of the issues. They came out and looked at the car, then said it was like that when I brought it in. (it most certainly was not, and even if it was, they didn't say anything?) They said I could leave my car there overnight and they could look at it tomorrow (not for free I'm sure). -Horrible workmanship I brought it to another mechanic Sunday, since I no longer trusted them with my car. The other mechanic confirmed they unplugged the engine oil filter during their inspection and never plugged it back in. I took the documentation from the other mechanic back to Mr. Tire to inform them of the bad experience and ask to be reimbursed. I have talked to the manager, Tom Eichhorn, twice about the manner. Both times he said he was busy and would look into it later. It has been several weeks and he hasn't called me back. -terrible customer service This is the 1st time I've ever given anything but a 5-star rating. I will never go here again. read more

I had bad experience at this service. I requested an appointment at 11:30 online beforehand. Next day when I got there on time, a guy was looking at their appointments on the computer screen. He told me I should have arrived at 11. I thought I might have made a mistake and apologized. When he was checking my tire, I double checked my appointment. Then I told him my appointment is exactly at 11:30. He made a lot of excuses without an apology. I asked him how long it would take to get the tire installation done. He said an hour and half. All he needed to do is install ONE new tire, which usually takes a few minutes. They were not busy at the moment, I was the only customer waiting. After 15 minutes also, I asked another guy if they could get it done sooner because I needed to go back to work. The other guy told me it would be done in 10 minutes. After the job was done, nobody indicated the warranty and other important information. The tire cost me $314 after all. The first guy was showing cold face all the time. Very weird attitude! It seemed like they didn't want to do business, or just didn't want my business because I am a woman and an Asian. So why don't they just go out of business if they don't want it??? By the way, when I was waiting, a lady walked in and told them her battery that was installed in the shop a month ago stopped working. She had to have it towed to the shop. read more

I had the misfortune of a broken coolant upper assembly on a Sunday with a holiday on a Monday. I could not drive my vehicle at this point. I called this Mr. Tire to see if they could do the work as they were the only place open in the area on a Sunday. They said they could and to bring it in. I had my vehicle towed there. Upon arrival I learned that they couldn't get the part until Tuesday. This was an inconvenience but I had no other choice as my car was not drivable. This repair was an obvious repair and I could Google the part needed. From my research the part needed was roughly $60. They charged me $250. They charged me for a coolant flush which was not needed as my system was empty. All together what could have been a $300 job turned into a $600 job. I was taken advantage of. When I tried to get a military discount to soften the blow, they refused. So military please avoid this place. They were nice until the point where I asked for a military discount. Then the attitude changed and they said the prices are the prices and can't be changed due to them being a chain. Well played, I'm writing this review so no one else gets burned by this Mr tire. A few months ago I bought four rather expensive tires from this location. The manager was nice, polite, and happy to upsell me. I don't think I minded the up sale because he did everything else right. Last Friday, I called made an appointment for a routine oil change and tire rotation. Even though I get free services from my dealer these guys were more convenient and I figured I'd give them a shot. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time only to find they didn't have an appointment on the books and they would easily be an hour and a half before they can fit me in. Good prices on tires however they are rip-offs on service. My bad for giving them a second chance after they tried to charge me $50 for a wiper blade to pass a state inspection. Had them repair a leaky brake line. Had more problems so brought it back and they said all the brake lines needed to be replaced. Ended up paying them over $800 to replace them (in addition to previosuly paying them over $200 to repair first failure). Recently had fuel lines leak so took it to another service provider and informed them I wanted all lines replaced like the brake lines had been. They informed me that the brake lines had not all been replaced (as Mr Tire had claimed to). They charged much less to replace remaining lines. They also stated that is should not have cost so much to do the work Mr. Tire claimed to do. Mr Tires is a rip-off - AVOID! read more
