Updated review on Mr. Tire. I can't speak highly enough of this location! I needed my brakes replaced and they were able to get me in and out same day, with very reasonable pricing. What stands out time and time again is how honest and communicative they are with you. The first time I went to Mr. Tire, I ended up not needing to have anything fixed (which shocked me in the first place since most places would try to con you into spending money). But now, after needing my brakes fixed in a pinch, I remembered the great customer service and decided to try them out for this repair. Friendly, efficient, respectful and willing to explain what needs to be fixed rather than trying to tack on a million extra charges. As long as I live in Pittsburgh, I'll be coming to them for all my auto needs!! read more

I took my car to this shop on 2/7/26 looking to get my brakes fixed, the loud popping sound I heard while driving and anything else I needed to pass inspection. After the diagnostic they said I needed 4 tires, a right front hub and barring assembly, left front inter tie rod, exhaust gasket, high mount brake bulb, wiper blades and an alignment. The price they gave me was $2300 for everything. I called around to some other shops to price compare and every other shop I got in contact with charged under $2000 for the work but because it was urgent and I didn't want to take any more risk driving the car in its condition i had them get started. I picked my car up the following day and the break light was still on which was an immediate a red flag. I went back in and told the mechanic that worked on my car about it and he said "Im not sure why it's still on but maybe after you drive it around it will register and turn off". I also noticed the tires did not look new; from the dirt on them to within minutes of me driving off the TPMS light came on indicating I need to put air in my tires I just bought. Last but not least my acceleration would have a hard time keeping up with a turtle, which was not an issue before I took my car to this shop. I called them back 2/12/26 addressing the issues Im experiencing with my car due to a lack of proper work and diagnostic from Mr Tire's mechanic. During the call I told the manager about my acceleration, my tire pressure, and my brake light still being on, which again was already supposed to be taken care of in my first payment. They scheduled me for today 2/21/26 8:00am. When I got there the manager told me that they can only look at the tires and one other thing I don't want to misquote, but they don't have anyone that can check on my acceleration problem which was my most important things I needed fixed. Why I wasn't made aware of that before I drove all the way there Im not sure. He also told me I would have to pay additional cost for this work. I find that ridiculous, they are over priced and won't even get all the work done properly. They basically are trying to charge me extra money for a problem that should have already been fixed. Mike and the team at Mr. Tire Fox Chapel are friendly, helpful, and honest, and are my go-to service center. A few days ago I woke to a dead battery, and am 100% sure that I left the headlights override on, so just called AAA for a jump. Then yesterday my car wouldn't start, so after a jump I went directly to Mr. Tire, where I had bought the battery several months ago. They took me immediately, checked all systems to make sure it wasn't anything more serious, got me a spanking new battery, and found the time for the maintenance check/oil change/and tire rotation I had scheduled for later in the week. Not all of it is their fault as brake pads needed to be ordered, however my car had not been worked on for the first two hours of being here. I went in the Latrobe location to have a tire repaired due to a nail in it.Was told that my tire was dry rotted and that it would not pass inspection and there was nothing that they could do but replace them.In reality,they are recaps and that was the way they look... Beware of the BS. read more

McKnight Location: Spent 1500.00 on tires, they must have spent 20 minutes rearranging my drivers seat and steering tilt, as I still can't get it back to proper settings. Left grease all over my door handle. Less than a week later, i have a flat tire. Had scheduled my inspection for 11 today, asking them if they were sure they could get me in and done before work, they said no problem. 40 minutes in 4 mechanics are still hanging out chatting and my car never made it to the bay. I just got my keys and left. There was no sorry, no nothing. I won't be back and now I am stuck with a crap tire that was over 300.00. I am glad to know they think in this economy everyone is made of money :( read more

My car had been having issues lately so I brought it in first thing in the morning. The guys were really accommodating taking a look at my car at such short notice and provided excellent service overall. With my minimal car engine knowledge, they explained what was wrong very succinctly, and were cognizant of letting me know what was priority to fix and what could wait, depending on how much I was willing to put into the car at the time. I cross referenced all of their insights with mechanic friends back home and confirmed they are genuinely great and trustworthy mechanics. I highly recommend these guys! read more

Mr. Tire in Fox Chapel provides amazing service and really cares about their customer's safety. Stopped in to see if they could check my tires and brakes before 2 long trips. Adam R, Josh B and James H were at the end of their work day, but offered to look at my car then, rather than have me pick it up in the morning. My review shall be a little bit of a contrast to the previous one listed. My experiences here have been excellent. My car is finally old enough for me to take it to repair shops that are not the dealer - I know that dealers typically overcharge for mundane things like oil changes, but while my car is under warranty, I just suck it up. This place is close to home, and very convenient. I have had new tires, a new battery, hydraulic fluid flush and fill, coolant flush and fill, and multiple other services performed here recently, and found the quality and speed to be excellent. When I need to get work done on my car at the last minute on the weekend, this place is clamoring to accommodate me and get my business! Thus far, Mr. Tire in Fox Chapel has proven itself to be a reliable and fast provider for my car needs - we shall definitely be back. read more

Over charged my dad who brought my car in for me bc he was elderly and they took full advantage of that. Called to get a refund for services that were not done...manager Chris hung up on me multiple times. Then caught him in multiple lies regarding the charges made to my account. Well first of all I had an issue with my car not starting in July, they put a new battery in and that seemed to fix the issue. A month later the issue started again and I took my car back and they said it was an electrical issue and I had to take it to the dealer. I gave one star because they were at least cordial but it doesn't seem to me they really know what they are doing. Will never go here again read more

Took my car in today at 11:30 for an oil change and was told by the lanky guy behind the counter that I'd have to wait til the end of the day to get it back. I thought it over and agreed, and confirmed with him twice that the business day closed at 7. I spend the next seven hours in the local strip mall, eating, watching a movie, etc., and came came back at 6:45, having not heard anything yet. I inquire about my car and I'm told that it would not be ready until the next day. I calmy explained that I was dissaponted not to have my car, and the same lanky guy (see above) told me that he had said there was a CHANCE my car would be ready by the end of the day. Why am I never going to this location (or any Mr. Tire, for that matter) again? Terrible service, rude employees, and quite frankly, less than satisfactory prices. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS AUTO REPAIR SHOP - Quite possibly the worst auto repair service in our region/ever. I took my truck there to get inspected. The aggressive and cantankerous manager told me I had $1200 worth of repairs including replacing my windshield because of a crack. The crack was a small splinter in the windshield that is no bigger than a dime. I know nothing about the what constitutes a replaced windshield until I simply went online and found that the splinter needed to be larger than a quarter. When I told the manager he yelled at me. I took it off the lot and to an independent repair service and it passed with no repairs - $40 compared to $1200. Let the list of bad reviews on this shop confirm, this place should be shut down. read more

I don't know a lot about cars. But, I know that the guys at Mr. Tire don't screw me over! It is the cheapest place for me to get my Prius's oil changed! Also, recently went in to get my inspection done and they were able to fix an issue with my brakes and just charged me Labor for the time spent working on it instead of me paying over $600 for a new part. They also fixed a guard that was falling off of the bottom of my car, free of charge. They might not always get everything perfect logistically speaking (timing can be difficult if they're busy, etc) but they get 5 stars for what really counts! I took my car to Mr. Tire today to have a flat repaired. When putting on the spare, the lug stud broke. Upon inspection I was told the tire had to be replaced. I was also told that I needed all 4 tires replaced. I was told that the back 2 tires were bald in the middle and the cord was showing through on the drivers side. I asked to see and as it turns out There was no cord showing at all and the tread depth was 6/32 on outside and 5/32 on inside. Not even close to bald. Second the price of the lug stud was only $1.99 but I was charged $152 in labor for a job that took 35 min to do in total. That amounts to about $200-$230 / hr in labor costs. They also refused to put the tire on the car as it was not an exact match to the remaining tire but still charged me a $30 instillation fee. I also had to take the car back because of a cross threaded lug not when I got back home & tried to put the new tire on the shop refused to put on. Bottom line, if you want to be told things need to be repaired/replaced that don't, and pay labor rates of around $200/hr. this is where you should go. If you want fair rates and good professional customer service I would go elsewhere. I was also very displeased with the unprofessional manner of the staff. read more

Took my all wheel drive Subaru in to Mr. Tire (Fox Chapel location) on May 10, 2019 to have the driver side rear tire repaired as I found a nail in it. I left the car overnight. Received a call on May 11,2019 saying I could use an air filter and the tire could be repaired which means they inspected the tire. I then received another call to say the tire had a bubble in the sidewall (wasn't there when I dropped the car off or when they took it in to repair) and they could sell me another tire! (Anyone that know about all wheel drive vehicles knows that you CAN NOT buy just one tire.) When I got there the was a bubble along the rim and I asked what happened to cause the bubble. I was told I hit a pot hole. I then took my car another very reputable tire shop and when the tire was taken off I was informed that the bead was cut which is what caused the bubble, the "patch" was NOT put on properly, and they had put some type of lubricant on the studs which could potentially cause my lug nuts to loosen and the tire to come off. I kept the "bad" tire and returned to Mr. Tire. The manager asked if the car was inspected when I dropped it off and I replied "No, you didn't look at it". He then looked at the tire and tried to tell me that the cut in the bead was "old"! (SORRY, I bought those tires at my dealership and they would never have put defective merchandise on.) I replied that we will see what happens because I am calling the corporate office on Monday. I didn't take my car in for an air filter and they had no business looking at the engine. Only stands to reason that if the tire was inspected and repairable that the bubble would have been seen. Big deal I wasn't charged for the tire repair but I ended up spending a lot more money since I had to purchase 4 new tires because of Mr. Tire's screw up! I did speak with Mr. Tire's customer service on Monday the 13th. She requested an explanation from where I had my tires replaced which I e-mailed on the 14th. I was told nothing could be done so I asked for her supervisor. He also gave me a difficult time saying that the manager of the store said they didn't cause the bubble. I got really upset and said the manager was not telling the truth. I asked him if he would like to see the tire. He said he would talk with his supervisor and called me back (May 16th) to say they would pay for one tire. I said I had to think about it. I called him back on the 17th and said I would go 50/50 with them because I was 50% wrong for taking my car there and they were 50% wrong for causing me to have to purchase 4 new tires. Once I presented this he said his supervisor said that's all they are going to offer. I then spoke with the supervisor and was told that breaking the bead of a tire does not cause a bubble, they may have only damaged one tire and I can take the offer or leave it. I also asked her if she would like to see the tire. Unfortunately, I was forced to take what was offered so I wouldn't be out all of the costs. I feel as if I was used and abused by not only the store but also the customer service department. I WOULD NOT AGREE TO ANY REPAIRS TO YOUR CAR OR MAINTENANCE OUTSIDE OF OIL CHANGE, INSPECTION, TIRE ROTATION, AND TIRE REPLACEMENT, END OF STORY-- not even brake work, fluid flushes, taillights, or anything else. I went to Mr. Tire for 3 years for service on my car and they misdiagnosed several major issues that when talking to the mechanics that could finally fix my car elsewhere were actually very common problems and not weird at all--ie should have been very easy to diagnose and fix (a shame I don't know more about cars). I find their prices to be above market for any repairs and below market for basic services (i.e. sucker you in for the basics and then when something doesn't pass inspection or isn't quite right they hose you). read more

I had winter tires put on my car one month ago. I followed instructions and went back 2 days later for the tightening of the lug nuts. About 3 weeks later I noticed it wasn't driving correctly almost as if the tires weren't balanced. I stopped in and while they couldn't fit me in they made an appointment for 2 days later. Assured me they were balanced ant it was most likely my breaks, which I know were fine. The next morning on my way to work the front tire fell off. During rush hour. Today I stopped after I got the 2000 estimate for wheel and body damage. They stated the tire fell off because the rim was bent. Really? I think it is bent because it flew down the road and was hit by other cars that luckily didn't crash. Now I'm out a $1000 deductible plus rental car and they won't accept responsibility for this at all. My car was fine before they over-tightened the lug nuts. Never again. read more

So one of the tires on my car had been getting low air pressure. I eventually took it to Mr Tire after the favorable reviews. Given that I found out that my car had a total flat on a Sunday and there are very few places open that service your car I went here. I will say that I got really good service, although I had to basically leave my car here for the rest of the day so that it could be looked at. After a few hours I got a call and was told that my tire was salvageable and that it would only cost me $25 which is not bad at all. I was able to pick up my car before 5pm (their closing time). They also provided good advice to my husband who helped me drop off the car, which really scored good points with me. I had good service and my tire is still up and running. read more

No urgency and carless with customer's time and requests. I had scheduled an oil change at 10 AM and was told that it would be done in 1 to 1.5 hours. My car did not even move from the parking lot to the garage until 2 hrs later. Then I noticed that they were lifting my car and rotating my tires, something I let that I let the employee at the front desk know I would not be needing. I went to the front desk when I saw this occurring and luckily I did, because if I was not there to stop it, it would have happened. I was there for three hours for one scheduled oil change. Prices were fair, but quality of repairs and respect for the customer was low. read more

My daughters check engine light was on and this guy calls me back tells me I need a new ignition coil, spark plugs, possibly tires, and a fuel injection??? really?? I asked to just make the check engine light go away with the iginition coil and spark plugs. guess what check engine light still on. I saw the terrible reviews but still came because my family members have had great experiences w/them which was my greatest mistake and could've avoided this entire experience. Be forewarned when you go there you need micromanage every aspect of your visit. So is that really worth going. I went in to get my battery terminals REPLACED. I said this to Mike during lockdown and then communicated this upon check-in. His translation on paper...to "check battery terminals." If the dealership cleaned it off and said they needed to be changed down the line why would I need them to "check it" again? Hmmmm? I also knew that I probably needed new shocks and asked them to check it out and make sure if i needed it or if anything else was wrong due to a recent fender bender due to the way the car was driving over speed bumps and these huge cracks/holes in the road here in PA. I failed to mention (this is an ongoing issue w/my car and a totally separate situation) where the lights go out and only on the drivers side. I failed to mention it to them because they're going to notice it anyways, right? They are checking the car. My family member also pointed it out to me the day before (as I was taking stuff out of my car for the drop off) that the brake lights were out and i said yeah so is the fog and low beam. Well they found a nail in my tire and here is where is my fault, by Dale telling me "they'd take care of it for me" i interpreted that as a n/c. That wasn't the case. These tires are under warranty (and a valid one at that cuz I used it when I was in TX in 2018/2019) I ended up paying $35 for something I could've had fixed for free. The warranty rep at Michelin confirmed. My next fault, when I came to pick up the car and asked Mike about the car and if they found anything he said no. The total of the bill was $60 something and then went down to $35. I didn't check the bill but not an invoice was given prior to payment nor an itemized set of charges nor discussed what was done or not done w/the car. I thought I paid for battery terminal replacements. I was putting the paperwork away a few days later and looked at the invoice whoever looked at the car (keep in mind they had my car on the 4th and had to keep my car the next day so they're senior tech can drive my car cuz the other one heard nothing wrong w/it) and filled out the invoice noted: suggest battery cleaning, shocks/struts was crossed out in the boxes AND I have a transmission pan leak. Best part also, the lights were still out on the car. They obviously missed that simple and most obvious fact. Called to talk to Dale he said to bring the car back and I had agreed. But really? Would you bring your car back? He apologized that it wasn't communicated to me and assumed that because it was a new person and they just filled out the paperwork & passed it along. Sooooo how long have they been doing this? And then tried to say oh wow, the dealership lied to you telling you you need new terminals. I just called to say I wasn't bringing my car back and I wanted the monies I paid for the tires and offered to bring my warranty info down for him to submit a claim (he refused said he's been there already and they don't cover this or that). And said that my light were out after i left the shop it was never out before. I have pictures of the car before because (here's the gag....it's needed for a lawsuit). So now I'm a liar. They're incompetent and untrustworthy as far as my situation and I'm concerned and highly would question the reliability of their workmanship after MY experience. read more

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about. I took my car here for an alignment. After the alignment I realized that I mounted my new aftermarket wheels incorrectly (wrong hubcentric spacer). As a result the wheels were not sitting square against the hub and the alignment wasn't accurate. After a couple days I explained my mistake and asked them to check the alignment. After checking they confirmed the alignment needed adjustment and performed a new alignment. Even though it was clearly my mistake, they didn't charge me a dime for the realignment. They were also professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. I'm thankful and will be giving them my future business. read more

I went in for a new set of tires because the OEM tires on the car were fine for sunny California driving, but not great on wet roads and ridiculous on snow. I indicated what I wanted when I made the appointment but then they didn't have them when I arrived, so they talked me into another tire and I took it because there was snow in the forecast and I wanted to get it done. My second mistake, my first was coming here in the first place. Third mistake was not asking for clarification on the options that I paid for since they go over the estimate but never really indicate which items are optional. Since driving off the lot the steering has been loose and the car pulls to the right when accelerating and braking. So I called and they said just bring it in (after telling me all the things that would cause what I was feeling that had nothing to do with them, of course). I bring it in, and end up having to make an appointment to be seen. Why didn't they say that in the first place when I called? I don't know what's causing it and apparently neither do they or not that their willing to admit to or fix, but I do know what my car felt like before I took it there and what it feels like now. I used to love driving my car and now it feels like shit. Don't make the same mistake. read more

We had a large screw in our tire, that was discovered two days before vacation. We talked to them on Wednesday, they suggested if we had it there early Thursday morning we would have it by the end of the day. We dropped it off early and had it back by early afternoon. They pulled out the screw and repaired the hole for only $26. I honestly don't know how they can do that so inexpensively. We drove the car down and back to Maryland without any issues. when I made the appointment, I told them I need the car by 4pm. When I bring in my car at 9am and I told them I need it at 4pm. They all told me yes they will do it. It is only oil change and state inspection. It is new car. You don't need 9 hours to do the job. They start job on my car on 4pm. ANd then ....I miss my another appointment.
