DISNEYLAND RIDE #4: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride Jolly Ol' Mr. Toad's Wild Ride! This was one of the rides that I went on during my first visit to Disneyland when I was a kid. I remember being the driver while my dad was the passenger and me being terrified of the fake train coming towards us halfway through the ride. Let's just say I wanted off Mr. Toad's Wild Ride back then. The wait time for this ride without the Lightning Lane Pass was about 15ish minutes. In the line outside, we got to catch a glimpse of the inside where everyone was boarding the ride. Now that I'm much older, I don't mind riding the rides that were scary to me when I was a kid. And yes, I was the driver again while my LTP was the passenger. Everything about this ride returned to my memory during, including the fake train when I was too young to remember that it was actually fake. Mr. Toads Wild Ride is one of the famous classic Disneyland dark rides. This doesn't exist over at Disney World either since that was taken over by the Winnie the Pooh ride over there. So if you're ever looking into some classic nostalgia this is the place to go for some crazy storytelling adventure. The queue is mostly located outside of the building and once you're about to enter the door there's only a little tiny bit left of the wait and you will soon be boarding your own little cart. There are carts of two so makes it unique and cozy. It's been a while since I've written a dark ride and it is amazing what kind of ingenuity they utilized many decades ago to get this set up. I think the ride follows Mr. Toad as he drives drunk and then gets sent to hell. Don't know if that's actually the case or not but it's pretty wild for sure. There's so much going on. Usually the way it isn't too bad for this ride either. Make sure to download the Disneyland app to see the way times here in the park. read more

Nostalgia alone gets the 5 star rating but it is a genuine fun Fantasyland dark ride that takes you through London without having the long wait for Peter Pan. Queue: Relatively fast queue and wait time that is well decorated rendition of Toad Hall. A Disneyland classic, one of the first rides. It was the "scary" kid ride for me when I was little and now it is just fun nostalgia! I had to Google to find out who Mr. Toad even is/was... never knew. I've heard of the Wind in the Willows, but it's definitely not as popular as this ride! Two people climb inside a cool old car and off you go to avoid things tumbling onto you, policemen trying to stop you, crash through walls and windows, and avoid explosions. It's just good fun! You'll find Mr. Toad's in with the other highly popular rides such as Peter Pan, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland and Pinocchio, next to the carousel... most of these rides have quite long lines, but they are so classically Disneyland that they are a must at least once in your lifetime. I've had the pleasure of experiencing Mr. Toad's several times and it never disappoints. Could be because it reminds me of my childhood or just because it is pure simple "dangerous" fun! Enjoy!! My wife and I had a great time going on this ride. Our first attempt didn't go so well because right when we were about to get on the ride, it broke down due to low power so we left to go on other rides. After finishing the other rides in the castle, I saw that Mr. Toad was open again and we went back but this time the wait was around 15 minutes. The ride itself is around like 3 minutes and it goes by fast once you're in the ride. The movement is not that fast so it's fine for kids to ride in and it's also not scary. read more

Nope, I've never seen Wind in the Willows or The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the dark and quick ride. Located in Fantasyland right next to Peter Pan's Flight. The ride takes you through the motions of what it is like driving through the eyes of Mr. Toad and his "Motor Mania," tendencies. You'll go through various twist and turns and almost crash into certain places and people, lol! Lastly, Mr. Toad ends up in "Hell." The ride was rather odd, but fun to at least try out. I also enjoyed the nicely air conditioned space. This ride might scary some kiddies, but as an adult, you'll find it amusing. Just slightly bummed that I couldn't take good pictures and/or videos, but I did enjoy my nails lighting up under the black lights, lol! read more

I'm conflicted about this ride. In part because the landscape of the ride is so beautiful. The building was truly designed for the ride, and is one of the original rides at Disneyland. That being said, it needs a revamp. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is a similar ride, but less jerky - in that you ride through the general plot of the film with wooden characters and crash doors. However most have never read Wind in the Willows (it's beautiful, you should) and never seen The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (also quite good, although it deserved a full length film) so the ride isn't as popular as Pooh. Were it not in Fantasyland I think it would be even less popular than it is now because it's so easy to ride tea cups or Snow White and say, "why not?" In the future I'm hoping the ride gets a makeover and is less a mishmash of random awkward scenes or that it and Peter Pan's Flight are replaced by something Frozen themed, because sadly, the space could be much better utilized than it currently is right now. read more

Customer service is the best I've seen from any business. It was sweetheart's night tonight and my new phone accidentally fell out of my pocket while on the ride today. I was super upset and mad at myself. I spoke with the ride staff, who let the lead and their manager know the situation. Whoever was the manager is a saint for going out of their way to get my phone. I was still able to do the photo oops and use my Disneyland app. The alternative was picking up my phone at 1am when the park closed but the manager on duty was so understanding. I'll forever be grateful to their kindness. read more

I don't think I've ever actually even watched the movie for this ride, but regardless, I think it was fun. You can "drive" the cart as you go through the story of Mr. Toad's wild ride. It jerks you back and forth, you "crash" through scenes, and you see his descent into hell! I think the ride ends a bit abruptly because he ends up there and seemingly does not come back out...We waited less than 15 minutes for this ride and when you're done, you can take the photo opportunity outside in one of the ride carts. read more

OMG! I love this ride! This is my husband's favorite character attraction and he always insists on riding this attraction when we visit Disneyland. Sadly in Disney World's Magic Kingdom, this ride was removed (in which the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh replaced it) but, I'm glad they still feature it in the Disneyland park. If anyone watched the animated feature The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad (based on the book the Wind in the Willows), this ride takes you on Toads journey when he is on a quest to retrieve a motor car while falling into a wrong crowd of friends such as Mole, Rat and Badger that try to save him from himself. Through Toad's journey, he is sentenced in court and found guilty and you ride through Toad's Hall, Toad's wild ride through the town and even in Hell in which the attraction feels a little heated in that room which offers a special effect with a touch of Disney magic. The graphics, the props, the animation and animatronic characters are a must see which makes this one of the best character rides in the park. read more

The last time we were here, we took our boy on it. This is a must-ride when we are at Fantasy Land. This classic ride seems to be really popular with other visitors as well. The line is usually pretty long. If it's hot outside, then, the wait might seem pretty long. (Funny story: when our son was very young, he would cry at the end of each ride, because it was over.) You start your journey as you twist your way through Mr. Toad's study and make the exit out of the fireplace. You find yourself running from the police twisting and turning your way through swamps and the city docks. You end up back at the bar, which might be the only ride to feature beer which is awesome. Then land yourself in jail for joyriding and a DUI. You bounce out of the courtroom and your ride is about to end, which I won't spoil if you have never been on this.....but it gets a little warm. Seriously for me, this attraction is the stand-out of Fantasyland. I love Peter Pan but Mr. Toad takes the crown. For you newcomers check out this ride.
