UPDATE: Despite Texas law changes, residents in and near large cities in many cases still need emission test before registering your vehicle. Mr. Ts covers that full time. Each car takes five mins for test. Just wait in car and go with the line...it doesn't take long. Service is professional, fast and locally owned. We had to get some inspections for renewing our car registration. We reached there, within 5 mins we got our turn. They did all the inspection instanteously and within 10 mins we were ready to go. It cost us USD 12 which i think is great value for money coz we have done such similar inspections in other states and it cost USD 40 to 50, and not even this great service. Although the recent emissions inspection rules have changed, vehicles registered in designated counties. Designated counties include Brazoria, Collin, Dallas, Denton, El Paso, Ellis, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Johnson, Kaufman, Montgomery, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, Travis, and Williamson. This means that as a resident of Williamson County, I am required to have an inspection. I came to this location about two weeks ago to get my annual inspection. I did not have an appointment and was hoping there wouldn't be much of a wait. Fortunately, for me, the last inspection was just concluding when I arrived to get my inspection. The inspection took less than 15 minutes coming in at a total cost of $13.50. However, I paid with cash which made my total $11.50 (score). Needed a vehicle inspection and Mr.T's was a great choice to get it done. Called on a Monday and was informed that he was busy so decided to come in Tuesday after lunch. In and out with a PASS in under 30 minutes. Pro tip have a copy of your insurance to show and they do take card so that's helpful. Parking can be a little confusing as there isn't really dedicated lines or spots but just park where he can back it up into the garage to do the inspection. not sure about all the good reviews, not my experience. Below is a short and a long version. Short version: The parking is very crowded. No space for anything. The office was empty when I went, and the only person there attending the public: Did not even say hello when i went to ask him a question, he barely looked at me, was literally rude. Then moved the next person behind me (another man) to the work station before me (a woman who was there before). When i confronted him about skipping me, he said he "waved at me" to come over and i did not see him. Why he did not come to let me know it was my turn is beyond my understanding. I decided to leave when i experienced such lack of respect so i told him i was leaving and walked back to my car to leave. Then as i was turning on my car and about to leave, he "then" comes to my car to let me know (in a condescending tone) that everywhere else around there had a long wait time of hours. So wait, he could not come to my car before to let me know it was my turn to come to the station but he came now to tell me basically that he was my only choice and that i had to accept he pass over my turn? Longer version: I arrived for emissions inspection, he was outside as i was going into the office (i did not know then he was the only one working there). Got into the office, was empty (he could have said something when he saw me when i was going in but ok). I go outside to him and before i could say much he said : wait in your car, without even looking at me, not to mention say Hello. I go to my car like he said. Another vehicle was behind me (he got there after me). After couple of minutes i see man in the vehicle behind me pulling over to the work station, literally skipping my turn. So as he is pulling to the inspection station , i got out of my car and walk there and ask the mechanic why i am being skipped over if it was my turn. He said he waved at me several times for me to come in but that i was looking at my phone. Which is true, but he never told me i should have been looking at his station permanently (how could he have told me if he barely said anything other than "wait in your car")... I said: "you could have come to tell me it was my turn. You did not say i would need to be looking at you"... he nodded as in saying "it is what it is". I said "ok im leaving".. as i am getting ready to drive away he comes to my car and tells me: "You know, anywhere else around here you go to now it will be hours wait" (so, "now" he could walk to my car to tell me this, but he could not walk to my car earlier to tell me I could come in?). I left anyways. He was not the only rude person in this story. He is a man and im a woman. He was not only rude as a business person , but also very unpolite and despondent. But he was not the only rude one. The vehicle that was parked after me, he saw me going into the office earlier, and he was coming in as i was going out .. he asked me if there was noone in the office and i told him there was not one in there. I was polite to him, i helped Him; he knew i was there before him, and he saw when i was complaining to the mechanic telling him that it was my turn, as he was pulling into the station, but he did not say: you come first becaue it is the fair thing to do and it was your turn; he was not polite nor helped me like i was polite to him and helped him earlier. Who was him? Another man, much older than me, the ones that "supposedly" have "old school" manners... but he did not have ANY... this is sadly what part of our society has become. Total lack of politeness, fairness and respect. By the way, I drove 11 minutes, to Kirk Kar of georgetown. Nice respectful treatment. Much better parking (not cramped like this one), super fast inspection. I was not even 10 minutes there, including inspection and payment so, I did not have to wait na hour at another place like he said. read more
