Went for lunch recently. Had a really good cheese pizza. I give service 4out of 5 stars. I was wrangling two kids and the counter help assisted with our order by handing items over a wall that separates the dining area from the entry. I wondered why she did not come to the table. Ambiance is great. However, I was looking to cool off but they had no air conditioning. That did not make sense to me. The bathroom was reasonable but could be nicer.plenty of comfortable seating. The kids ran amuck yelling and laughing. All was good. They were cleaning dining room tables as we left. Awesome. read more

Love the grinders here!!! For some reason, you have to get a large to get the GOOD bread!! Its so fresh and delicious! Hubby says the meat to bread ratio is just perfect - I am not so much of a meat lover. Pizza has always been good - kids love the variety! I only wish they offered a seafood sub for those that don't love the meat subs as much... Make sure you order the large sub - then leftovers for lunch the next day!! read more

Bread here for the large sub rolls is amazing. I think it's fresh baked... they do use "real" turkey on their subs - not the squishy pressed meat. The pizza is always tasty - crust is not hard or over cooked. It's a regular place for us! read more

Used to be a great restaurant now every time you order pizza your delivery is always wrong, your food is cold and it takes an hour. I ordered a Greek salad and got it without chicken, no dressing and a slice of bread instead of the pita bread. I called and asked about the chicken the girl said she would send it over, this was about 9:30pm and I never got the chicken. Pizza is just ok. They use a conveyor oven and it leaves it greasy and soggy. The cheese is plain cheddar shredded on-site. I prefer a mozzarella blend. The subs on the other hand are THE BEST AROUND. They use fresh baked italian bread, and the meats are high quality. If you do not want a whole loaf of bread, they do have regular sub rolls like you would find anywhere else. The new owners are also much nicer than the last jackass that owned the place. read more

Being gluten intolerant, it can be hard to find anything to eat. Luckily Mr Z's has great options including pizza, subs and wraps. Their food (both gluten free and not) is delicious and the staff members are always friendly even when they're super busy! read more

I am in town at a friends house for a gathering and ordered two pizzas. A chicken parm pizza and a half philly steak and half cheese. When the pizza was delivered I received a half steak and half cheese and a chicken parm sub. When I called to correct the order the owner became argumentative, stating that he shouldn't have to pay for customers that make mistakes on their orders and basically made it clear that my business was not important. When asked if this is how he runs a business he continued to argue with me. I am completely appalled at this complete lack of customer service. read more

So unfortunately Z's has not gotten better since my last review. In fact they've gotten worse. Orders are still wrong almost 100% of the time. I genuinely think they just do not care about specifics. If you order a sub you get the sub an whatever they decided to put on it. Don't bother getting delivery, it still takes an hour + on weekdays, 2+ hours on weekends. Irrelevant what time you order. My breaking point was when we got delivery the over the weekend. We ordered the BBQ Special pizza with the BBQ sauce, onions, and chicken. We received the standard BBQ chicken pizza which is just BBQ chicken on a regular pizza. Called and said that there was some sort of mistake or miscommunication, said I can bring back the pizza and will pay the difference if there's an up charge (I'm basically paying for their mistake at this point since I've already paid for delivery + tip/ had just assumed they would take the customer service route and say we can just get the new pizza with no additional charge since it was their mistake). Guy on phone loses his shit saying it's not their fault it was a mistake and that we need to be more specific when we order and that it's too busy for him to correct right now. It was INSANE how upset this made whoever I talked to. I've heard countless stories about how rude they can be and I didn't believe it until now. It's such a shame because the food is good most of the time. Mr.Z's no longer deserves your money or patience. read more

Had Mr. Z's pizza for the first time and liked it! We ordered take out, they were quick to get to us and the food was hot. We had antipasto salad it was good sized, they did not skimp ( didn't love the italian dressing), ordered spaghetti with marinara, the sauce was light, flavor was good, bread tasted fresh and was soft. We were starving as we hadn't eaten all day and it was 9 p.m. so we ordered a small veggie pizza too and we're impressed, they did not skimp on anything, I loved crust it was not greasy at all which was great. We will definitely eat here again, maybe dine in next time as I am super excited to try the eggplant parm sandwich and my husband the lasagna. Thanks it was great! read more

Love this place. Me and a couple coworkers come here every Thursday for lunch. Everyone is always friendly and nice and always have our order ready for when we arrive. I don't think they're capable of making a bad sub. I highly recommend their cheeseburger sub if you ever visit. read more

Mr. Z's gets four stars for a small eggplant sub because the lady at the counter was so friendly, because the roll (for the small only) was baked in-house and therefore was excellent, and because the sandwich was $6.01 before tip, in a world where $8 sandwiches have become common. The sandwich had a nice, fresh flavor. I prefer a sauce with a strong garlic/oregano/basil flavor but it was good. They followed my instructions for very light cheese, extra sauce. The eggplant was nice but very slightly undercooked. Overall, I was pleased and will be back. read more

Good food, but the last two visits my pizza had raw dough and I had to put it back in the oven at home.

Normally this is the best pizza in Clinton....and i am a pizza connoisseur. Having said that, this most recent time I ordered a party pizza. It took them almost two hrs for the pizza to be delivered. it was on a Thursday night. we finally called called them after an hr and fifty minutes and the lady said its on the way. when we got the pizza, it was cold to the touch. We called z's back and the lady was extremely non apologetic. It was the poorest customer service I've received and i was quite surprised. They are usually on point. But to not offer any kind of compensation or small credit, the nonchalentless, and the (too bad, shove it) attitude was something to hear. That said a lot to us. Id have to give Mr. Z's pizza another chance, given their pizza is ONE of the best in Clinton (my opinion). But man, if that situation happened again, id go else where. Customer service goes along way. And knowing that if a problem comes up, Mr. Z's is going to blow you off and pretty much tell you its your problem........Id take my service and go elsewhere. read more

The eye catching sign on the front of the building is a great indication of how super the food is here. I have ordered almost everything they serve with no complaints. The food is always prepared quick, but it's so fresh and always hot. I personally have to recommend the stuffed shells, and the buffalo chicken calzone. This is my second Yelp review. Not sure what happened to the first. Maybe Yelp questioned the authenticity of it because I was really gushing about this place. Our family has been coming to Z's for their amazing sandwiches and pizza for the last 10 years. The staff is just so wonderfully enthusiastic, pleasant and helpful. We think that the bread they make the sandwiches with is beyond compare. Order a large or small sandwich as those are made with the bread baked right on the premises. If you are in the company of other adults and can eat in, get a pitcher of beer as it is a fantastic value. We have tried all the sandwich and pizza spots in Clinton and hundreds of others over the years and we don't think anything rivals Mr. Z's. read more

1st time and LAST TIME!!!! I ordered 3 items from this so called pizza place and only one was ready. I was charged $30 for a large cheese pizza. I asked where are my other 2 items (salad and sampler) and they were essentially like, "we don't know...." SERIOUSLY!?!? I paid $30 for a $10 pizza!?!?!? I waited for another 10 - 15 minutes while they were figuring out what salad I ordered and what had happened with the sampler....WTF!?!?! I told the guy running the place to cancel the sampler and give me back my $$, so he did that, because I had become very aggravated by their incompetence at screwing up a simple order. He told me it would take 2 minutes to make. Uh, well, if takes 2 minutes, WHY WASN'T IT READY IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!! Anyhow, they gave me the wrong salad (ordered a greek and got a cesar) and the pizza was luke warm by the time I got home. I opened the pizza box and the pizza was burnt on one side and underdone on the other. FANTASTIC!!!!! I had to get my own pizza cutter to cut the slices because they such a horrible job in cutting it cuz the cheese just slid off the slices and stuck to the box! What a bunch of clowns!!!! I will never go there again! And the salad was thrown into a torn up paper bag. It started to fall apart when I went go home!!!!! If I want pizza, I'll go to PAPA JOHNS in MARLBORO!!!!!!! Arg!!! terrible, justs terrible pizza. i ordered a large bacon and mushroom pizza today and with a side of fries. i got home and was extremely disapointed. Foods really good but the service is terrible. I think today was my final straw to stop going here. First off, never get delivery. I've ordered twice for delivery and both times I kid you not the driver came 2-3 hours after I ordered. The first time we kept calling and they just kept saying, "30 minutes 30 minutes," 2 and a half hours later our pizza is cold and all my friends are unhappy they let me pick the pizza place. Now today, Ha. Ha....I'd called at 620, first thing I said was "I'd like to make an order to pick up at 7," the girl ends the conversation with, "ok it will be ready in 10 minutes," had to call back because I said 7 and she hung up before I could correct her. But that's not even what I'm mad about. I ordered potato skins. You know what I got? No cheese, no bacon, no nothing. Just fucking plain ass potato cups. Who is the fucking moron that puts potato skins in the oven with NO CHEESE and says to themselves, "oh that looks right, good job me". Not fucking me I'll tell you that. Fucking really pisses me off when I sign out of work and leave on my break and sit down to my order being messed up, and I won't even have the time to bring it back. Place used to be my favorite till they hired people that can't remember to put the cheese on potato skins, or make my friends wait 3 hours for pizza where if I knew it would take as long as it did I would of fucking crawled there and made it there faster.
