We loved everything about this place. They had so many unique styles of potatoes that we have never tried before. On your first visit they bring you a sample of the authentic meats for you to try. The gnocchi is so good it melts in your mouth. This was one of the best meals I have ever had and the Rosti makes for great leftovers. They service is fantastic and they are super friendly. The theming of the restaurant is so fun and right on point for what they serve. Definitely recommend this place!!
This restaurant has been here forever and I've finally gotten around to trying it. It's in a strip plaza off Conroy. The service was fast and the food was really good. We got steak with gnocchi in an Alfredo sauce. The gnocchi was outstanding and the sauce was rich and delicious. It's not a pretty restaurant but was cute, Lots of potato heads and stuff about Guy fieri. I ended with flan that was really good. I'd go back for that gnocchi and try a stuffed potato as the videos made them Look amazing.
We visited Mrs. Potato after seeing an Instagram reel promoting it while we were visiting the Orlando area. I'm so glad that we stopped by! We order so much food so that we could try all the Brazilian food that they offered. The coxinha and pastels were AMAZING!!! The garlic mayo and green mayo were the perfect pairing for dipping sauce, not that it was needed. And honestly, the fries were so good too! The picanha was so tender and flavorful. The service and atmosphere is great. The restaurant is tucked away in a strip mall and may be an local's best kept secret. Add this to your list of go-to spots, order some spectacular food, and stay for dessert!
Was feeling peckish one day and decided to stop by Mrs Potato. My partner absolutely loves anything potato and I was personally intrigued by the fact that Guy Fieri has mentioned and visited them multiple times! Walking in, we were quickly greeted by the hostess who was also the waiter. There was maybe one other family so we were seated quickly and our order was taken efficiently. They do have indoor and outdoor seating option if you prefer. The food was amazing! Now be warned, this is not for the faint of heart, a lot of what we ordered was fried or very cheesy but oh so good! They do have other options like picanha and I believe fish but we opted for a loaded potato, a shrimp empanada, coxinhas, and my Chicken Rosti. The portion sizes were not bad for the amount of food we had. Boy oh boy did we have food coma after! Will definitely be coming back!
Had the chance to visit Mrs. Potato in Orlando, and it was a delightful little gem! We tried their cheese balls to start, and they were perfectly crispy and gooey inside--definitely a must-have. We also went for a banana and cheese empanada (which was a unique combo of sweet and savory that actually worked really well) and a classic cheese empanada that was super satisfying. But the star of the show was definitely their Brazilian hash brown dish called Rosti. It comes out like this glorious mountain of crispy hash browns layered with cheese, and we chose pork sausage for our protein. It was deliciously hearty and comforting. The service was friendly and attentive. It's a cozy little spot with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the food is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area!
We haven't been to Mrs. Potato in a while. We stopped in because my son was craving a baked potato. We were immediately greeted upon entering. We engaged in conversation with staff as we ordered. I ordered the Steak with Double Broccoli and my son got the Philly Cheese Steak Baked Potato. The restaurant still displays various potato head toys. Furthermore, memorabilia and a quote are featured from Guy Fieri's visit to the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and provided a warm atmosphere. Once we got home, we unpacked the food and dug it. We were so excited, I forgot to take photos. The food was delicious. My son stated his potato was "The Bomb". It sure looked good and had a generous amount of steak and cheese. My steak was juicy, tender and flavorful. The broccoli was made with garlic butter and cooked well. They were not too hard or too soft. Overall: A Good customer service and even better food.
I decided to take myself here for lunch one day and found a new favorite place to go. I arrived around 12 o'clock and there was only one of the party in the restaurant before me. It is a small location so if you're a larger group it's probably not the best location to go to. The parking lot is shared with a large strip mall And I did find that I had to circle a few times before I found a spot. I tried the strawberry juice (handmade every day), a ground beef empanada, and the chicken catupiry rosti. This is shredded chicken and cheese in a hash brown like Patti. All the food was incredibly delicious. I do wish the ground beef empanada had more ground beef in it. Overall, the food was absolutely delicious and I would definitely be going back! Another cool fact about this place that I didn't know was that Guy has been here as part of Diners, drive ins and dives!
Mrs. Potato has been on my must-try list for awhile and wow, was it worth it! On a rainy evening we were craving cozy warm potato goodness and they delivered! Every part of the meal was delicious and I'm so grateful we tried the servers suggested tapioca cheese bites - I might actually dream about them tonight they were so delicious! The picanha was cooked perfectly, the rosti was crispy and the coxinha were delicious! We can't wait to come back and try again!
Such an amazing hole in the wall restaurant. I came on a Saturday evening and was greeted immediately. I sat on a small table inside. I decided to go Non-Alcoholic this time and enjoy some passion fruit juice (about 7 dollars), which was freshly made. I really enjoyed the sweetness of the fruit and I don't think they added any sugars either. So it was healthy and delicious. For my entree, I had to try their famous rosti, and I took the small chicken rosti with salad (18 dollars). The salad was fresh and amazing, while the rosti was filling and great. I never tried rosti before, but it is like a hash brown with fillings. While I wish there were more chicken in the filling, it was moist and flavorful. There could have been more cream cheese for the flavor, but adding some pepper condiment provided what I was looking for. The small portion was still enough for my to even take home the next day. The service was attentive and caring. It was pretty quick too as I was in and out in less then an hour. The atmosphere is very small and casual with potato heads and pictures of Guy Ferrari at their restaurant. Outdoor seating is also available, but I wanted to stay warm. The noise level was library quiet, so you could also enjoy a relaxing or romantic dinner with your partner as well. I am so happy I tried this place. It's definitely a hidden gem that definitely deserved to be recognized by that food network show. I will indeed visit again, and even take my mom as it should have vegetarian options as well.
My dad is a big Diners, Drive Ins and Dives fan - so after seeing this place on the show we had to go when he came to visit. It was much smaller than I was expecting, with only about 6-10 tables inside. There was a whole outpost seating area though and it wasn't crowded. The food was really good and leftovers held up really well. The loaded fries were honestly our favorite, cooked perfectly. But, the rosti with the meat and the chicken was really tasty. You have to try the homemade garlic sauce too!
The steak and gnocchi were really good. The banana dessert was REALLY good. The DDD dish Carne Seca was loved by my 2 babies, my husband and I thought it was just ok. Inside of the restaurant was cute. Very small, but cute. They had a changing table and high chairs, and the waitress was very nice! Would try again.
We randomly happened to be on this side of town and got to try this place for the first time but it definitely won't be our last! While it is small and unassuming from the outside, inside the Mrs. Potato Head Toys and service is impressive. Our server gave us some amazing recommendations and was super attentive. We had the fried brie appetizer with pepper jelly, the carne seca rosti (aka giant hash brown stuffed with Brazilian meat and cream cheese), and the truffle sauce gnocchi with picanha. Everything was amazing and the portions were great! They also had an all you can eat soup option that I'd love to come back and try. I'm only sad it's taken me this long to try it
Really enjoyed my first time at Mrs Potato. Well done shredded hash browns is a favorite of mine any time and any place. It's an added bonus when they create a pocket of hash browns and fill it with cheese and chicken. It was quite flavorful. I ordered the lunch special which came with a brie cheese salad. This was... interesting. I would have loved to get here with a friend so that we could have tried two or more dishes but since it was just me, I had one. It is a very small restaurant and had a unique concept: potatoes. I was lucky to arrive towards the tail end of the lunch rush. The restaurant was filled and I got the last two-top table, next to the kitchen. The staff were quiet pleasant - a warm host brought me to the table and and a well spoken waitress took my order, asking if I had any questions. Order placed and 15 minutes later, my lunch arrived: Chicken Catupiry Rosti. It is what it looks like: a big pile of hash browns mixed with the chicken and then baked into a round cake-like shape. Digging in, delicious. A great flavor and the cheese on top that looks like garnish is part of the meal. Lots of taste here. Texture? So-so. These are, after all, hash brown potatoes so there isn't much bite. And after about five or so delicious mouthfuls, you've explored the whole meal. Enjoy the remaining that tastes exactly the same. After hearing so many wonderful things and watching Guy Fieri visit I was so exited to try Mrs. Potato! We made a reservation, but at 6:30 it was nearly empty. Our server was so friendly and filled up my water every time it was close to empty. The decor inside is cute with Mrs. Potato heads mingled with Brazilian flare! We were brought a bread roll and a pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) with an AMAZING garlic sauce! These were presumably unlimited as we had 3 rounds. My friend and I chose to visit during their all you can eat soup time. For $17 there were 6 soup options. My favorite was the pork and grits (trust me it's good even if you don't like grits!) and the loaded potato. You could add additional toppings such as cheese, hot sauce, green onions, etc. our server also recommended the Brie and after seeing the picture we absolutely had to get it! It did not disappoint! It came with a sweet and spicy Thai chili sauce that complimented the Brie well! I also enjoyed a hot chocolate as it was cold out! So I have such mixed feelings on this review. The food tasted good, but my review is taking into consideration atmosphere, how this restaurant was sold to us and service as well. Let's start food. Kids steak and Mac n cheese 5 stars! Came out fast, cooked to perfection, large portion and my little girl loved it! I ordered the guy favorite Carne Seca and the rosti potato was crisp, but I felt like it was all potato and hardly any cream cheese or meat. Dessert we ordered their banana dulce roll. Tasted phenomenal, but a little over priced (my opinion) This came up on search of best themed restaurants for kids. This was the opposite. There were maybe a handful of potato heads to look at and that was it. Based off of their wonderful website, and also being known for being on Dinners Drive Ins and Dives, we thought this would be a big fun upbeat restaurant. This is extremely small and located at the end of a strip mall. Wasn't worth out 50 min drive through traffic Service was okay. When we first walked in we were the only ones. Sat there for a good 5 min while one worker sat in the corner on her phone with headphones in and the hostess waited by the door for more people to come. Finally the hostess ended up coming over to grab our drink orders. Overall it was a unique interesting experience. Highlight was our kids food we ordered, wry impressed with it! read more

So I got back from my South Florida vacation, and the weekend came around again, so I had to find somewhere to eat in Orlando that was an absolute banger, to follow up with all the amazing South Florida food I had just eaten. I did a little research into my archives, and I found this place, a Brazilian place that promised me what I have been wanting to try for a long time, an authentic Feijoada. So I get here and am instantly surrounded by Potato Heads. It was wonderful. From all pop culture fandoms and eras. And there was a Guy Fieri poster, I guess he had been there before. It was a pretty small mom 'n' pop sized place, so I'm lucky we beat the dinner rush before the soccer game we were going to. We sat and opened our menus. I started with a mango juice. You can order it natural or sweetened. Pro-tip, order it sweetened. I also got a Guarana soda, soda based on some fruit I had never heard of. Pro-tip, order two cans so you can take one home for later. I got some apps. I got the Ground Beef Empanada. A big empanada! Very crispy, not very oily, and a good amount of filling. I was a big fan. Would get again, but I would get the Carne Seca Empanada next time, just because it sounds more unique! I also got the Mix & Match (3 Cheese Balls and 3 Chicken Drops). There were mega fun. Fried to perfection. Cheese balls are always delicious. And the chicken drops, you've probably seen them before. I've only ever gotten them from food trucks, but there were by far the best I've ever had. Big fan. Then I had to get a Rosti Potato. I chose the Chicken Catupiry Rosti (Pulled chicken & Brazilian cream cheese). This thing was incredible. Imagine a giant hashbrown casserole enveloping a massive amount of cream cheesy chicken. Crispy on the outside, covered with some cheesy sauce. Moist and juicy and Packed with flavor on the inside. I've never had such a thing in my life before, but now I will not rest until I've had it again. Then I finished things off with the grand finale, the Feijoada (a black bean and pork stew that is often served topped with farofa, toasted cassava flour). Mega-delicious. A deep, deep flavor of black beans and the various pork sausages it was stewed with. Served with sides of white rice, fried plantains, pork lardons, some nuts, everything you need to customize your bites of the feijoada with the flavors and textures you like. Wow, I was stunned. This is one of my favorite dishes now. Overall, I stumbled upon this place, and I'm so glad I did. WOW! This restaurant deserves all the praise for their food and service! My husband and I came years ago and we liked it a lot, so this time around we decided to stop by again. First of all, they've remodeled and it looks beautiful, albeit small (but cozy). The service was very friendly and quick, they served us quickly and refilled our drinks constantly without us asking. The food was delicious; can't think of a single way it can be improved upon. The presentation and the taste were perfect. This is a must do restaurant when visiting Orlando! read more

Location / Tucked at the end of the plaza but there's plenty of parking. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. We dined inside and it was cute to see all the potato figurines and how cool is that guy fieri came to visit them and showcases an episode from drivers, diners and dives. Food / We came during lunch which I recommend if you want a mini rosti portion of your own! The regular rosti is 1lb of potato and is massive! Great for sharing though. I got the carne seca rosti which looks like a hash brown stuffed pancake with filling. The meat was so tender and juicy! Great portion with their cream cheese. I also got it with their Brie salad and they gave you a generous portion of cut Brie slices. We asked for hot sauce to help cut the indulgent savory taste and they offered their in house hot sauce. Let me tell you, those tiny peppers marinating in their hot sauce comes with a kick be warned haha. Also their fresh squeezed juices were FRESH AND DELICIOUS. I got their pineapple mint - you have to get it!! And their appetizer chicken drops were crispy on the outside, and the inside was so flavorful and soft. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Garlic condiment that comes with it is 10/10. Not too garlic straightforward but enough to compliment well with the chicken drops. Service / Awesome! She was so friendly and helpful to decide what to try since it was our first time dining here. Overall a solid 10/10 experience for me. I would come here again if I'm out here in Orlando! On a tip from a friend, we went to Mrs. Potato after a trip to the touristy areas of Orlando. What a gem! The food was absolutely unique and delicious. I had a chicken rosti that came with a brie salad. Every bite was divine! The salad was a perfectly fresh accompaniment to the rich rosti. My daughter had the gnocchi with truffle sauce. I am already craving both of our meals less than 24 hours after eating there! The servers were lovely and knowledgeable. Food came quickly and was hot and fresh. I wish I lived closer to this absolutely wonderful restaurant! 10/10 for sure! read more

This was such a great experience with incredible service making us feel welcome. We also had the strawberry lemonade & the mango juice as well as the tapioca cheese bites with the delicious savory spicy jam. This was such a great experience that I can't wait to go back and try different dishes. Thank you to our incredible waitress who made us feel welcome and gave us samples of three of the different meats since we told her it was our first time. She treated everyone in the restaurant so well and I wish I'd gotten her name. read more

Let me first start by saying I learned about this restaurant on my foodie forum, on Facebook. Really good reviews, and since it was my husband's birthday, we decided to give it a try. I'm not exactly sure what all of the hype is about. Walking in, we were greeted by a very welcoming young woman, and our waitress was very sweet as well. As for the food, it was just a little bland and extremely greasy. I guess I should have expected greasy because, obviously, the food is fried!!! (I know that fried food can be made not as greasy) We each decided to try a different Rosti, so we could compare. I had the bacon and added mushrooms and peas. I asked the waitress if the mushrooms were fresh, and she said yes. Nothing grosser than canned or jarred mushrooms. Unfortunately, the mushrooms are not fresh. They were jarred, rubbery shrooms. There was supposed to be peas, red onions, and mushrooms in mine, but there was very little of any goodies. Just a lot of bacon. Now, don't get me wrong, bacon is great. I love bacon, but I would've loved to of had more of the extras and less of the bacon. We tried one of the shrimp empanadas. It was good, but nothing special. The rest of our group had a chicken bacon ranch rosti, a four cheese rosti with sausage, and a Calabrese sausage rosti. Overall, everyone was in agreement that the food was ok, although very bland flavor wise. A suggestion would be to make sure the waitstaff is aware of the difference between fresh and canned/jarred items. Also, more of the "goodies" that accompany the rostis. Maybe some delicious sauces that could be poured on them to help bring out the flavors. I brought half of mine home, used a lot of paper towels to remove most of the grease, and added a mixture of horseradish and ketchup to give it more flavor. That's my 2 cents!! read more
I've been wanting to check this place out since I saw it on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. It's a small restaurant on the end of a shopping plaza. Indoor seating is fairly limited. There is outdoor seating, but let's be real - this is Florida. It's only comfortable sitting outside about 2 months of the year. We ended up sitting outside unfortunately. It wasn't terrible, but it was uncomfortable. They did have a large shade on one side and several fans, but those just circulated the hot air around. Onto the food! My kids split the chicken tenders with a side of Mac n cheese, which was plenty of them. Both were actually pretty good. My husband got the carne seca rosti, which was a Guy favorite. It was pretty delicious, and the meat was well flavored. I got the chicken bacon ranch rosti, and added mozzarella cheese at the waitress's suggestion. It was a good suggestion, but the cheese did cost extra (which she didn't tell me). Mine was also really good. The rostis are really just big hash brown pies stuffed with different foods. Pretty unique. Service was great. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating. She offered to move us inside when a table freed up, but by that time we had already gotten our food and stayed outside for simplicity's sake. The one thing I will add is that I feel like the food is a bit overpriced for what it is. However, I will definitely be trying to make a rosti at home now! read more
We sat outside on the patio in the evening and it was very comfortable. Plenty of seating available inside and out. Waiter was very friendly and informative. Food was outstanding. We got three dishes so we could all try them and made sure to get one with the catupiry. Rosti was crispy on the inside and soft and delicious on the inside. If we had more stomach space we would have tried dessert and the Brie. read more

Guy was right when he said this place is outstanding! I got the Brazilian sirloin and my wife got the shrimp gnocchi. Both were flavorful and not at all boring. The restaurant is only about 14 seats so I imagine fills up quickly on the weekends. read more

What a lovely spot tucked away at the end of the plaza! We had the pleasure of sitting outside on their cozy covered patio, soaking up the gorgeous weather. The service was warm and attentive, which made our experience even better. I really enjoyed the lunch portion--just the right size, paired with a fresh salad, and it was surprisingly filling. Definitely a go to! It's a quick spot if you want something that is under $20. Mrs. Potato has 2 options for potatoes (baked or rosti). I got the loaded potato with pulled chicken (pictured below). I have heard a lot about this place from friends and family. It's been on my list to try for a long time and just didn't make it out here until recently. The restaurant is relatively small for interior seating, but they do have a nice patio area. They have an unlimited soup bar for $15.99 which seemed reasonable given they had a variety of soups to try. The main attraction here is their potato dishes. They have the roasted potato dish with cured Brazilian meats called the carne seca rosta - awesome sauce! It's basically hash browns with tender beef and melted cream cheese. It was bit cheesy for me but overall pretty tasty still. The cod appetizer was good and my favorite part of this meal besides the flan. Would recommend trying! read more
Had this place bookmarked for a while and was finally able to check it out. Place is pretty small with limited amount of indoor seating. They also have our door seating, but it was bit chilly to be outside. They offer unlimited soup for about $16. There seems to be plenty of toppings for the soups. The menu consist of plenty of items. I was able to try a nice 3 course meal. As appetizers, I got to try the cod fritters and chicken drops. Enjoyed the two but the cod fritters was a bit better. Nicely fried as well. I got the rosti carne seca, which had cream cheese and cured meat. I'm not a fan of cream cheese, but everything blended together was great. Nothing was salty so that was good. The Brazilian flan was great as well. Nice dessert to finish off the meal. The Brazilian soda was pretty too. Highly recommend checking this place out. read more
First visit to Mrs Potato after a recommendation from a co-worker. This restaurant is pretty awesome! We started with a combination appetizer of Cheese Balls (Bolinha de Queijo)-Brazilian version of cheese sticks: 3 cheese blend, covered in dough, breaded and deep fried & Chicken Drops (Mini Coxinha) - Brazilian most popular appetizer - shredded chicken breast, seasoned, covered in dough served with a creamy garlic dip ($12). I ordered a Carne Seca Rosti ($19) which is basically a stuffed hash brown pie with Brazilian cured meat, and cream cheese. The Rosti is their signature dish and this one is their best seller. This is so very tasty and enough for a second meal. We also ordered a Loaded Baked Potato ($15) with cheese, sour cream, green onions and chopped bacon. Lastly, a Philly Cheese Baked Potato ($16) with Butter, Philly Steak, Green, Red and Yellow Bell Peppers, Onions, Mozz-Prov Cheese. These baked potatoes were huge and tasty. This restaurant is decorated with an assortment of cool Mr & Mrs Potato Head figures. It also features both indoor and outdoor seating and it is table service. It offers typical sodas, brewed unsweet and sweet iced teas, Brazilian sodas and alcoholic drinks. They do take reservations but we came as walk ins and didn't have to wait to be seated. Our server attentive and helpful. We highly recommend a visit to Mrs. Potato and we will be back to try more menu items. read more

They used to have the best pastel (empanadas) of heart palm, but now is out of menu. Jerk beef is good. The rosti potato is good, it came with a lot of filling, but missing salt. Cod appetizer was very disappointed. No salt and a lot of potato "dough", it hasn't cod tasty. Staff are friendly. read more
This place was fun and had lots of different Mr. Potato heads on display which was cute. The service was great and our server explained patiently all of the options as we had be we been here before. He even offered to give us samples of all of the meat options so we could make the best decision and that was really cool, I've never been to a sit down restaurant that does that! This review is another entry in my tour of the places in Florida Guy Fieri has eaten at with his show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I have a Yelp collection if you want to follow along with my adventures. The show first aired in 2006 and it is on its 42nd season of Guy's road trips across America where he highlights some of America's most underrated and delicious local eats. Mrs. Potato appeared on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives during season 26, episode 12 in May 2017. The restaurant is located at the end of a strip mall on Kirkland Road very close to Universal Studios. Opened in 2012, Mrs. Potato is a Brazilian restaurant featuring empanadas and potato rosti's. Guy visited with N'Sync member Joey Fatone and Robert Earl, founder of Planet Hollywood and they sampled the carne-seca rosti and the chicken catupiry baked potato. The Mrs. Potato in the restaurants name is owner Rafaela Lopes. She came to the US as a child. When she grew up she wanted to open a restaurant and she decided to share what she missed from home, In Brazil, potato houses are common but here is America, potatoes are you usually found in the supporting role as side dish. Everything on the menu at Mrs. Potato is potato based. They have a specials menu which had a gnocchi on it when I visited and the regular menu with appetizers, pastel, potatoes both baked and rosti, burgers, and Brazilian cuisine. A rosti is hash browns fried in a bowl shape and stuffed with meat and cheese. A Yelp check in nets you a complimentary Brazilian soda. Mrs. Potato has a small indoor dining room and more seats outside under a covered patio. I sat inside and while I waited to order I checked out their Guy Fieri memorabilia and their adorable collection of Mr. Potato heads. One wall is covered in their awards and write ups in the local publications. They even have a Yelp wall. For my meal I ordered the loaded rosti which was the hash brown bowl with sour cream, bacon, cheese, and green onions stuffed inside. It was my first time trying a rosti and I enjoyed it. The potatoes were crisp and the inside had gooey cheese and all of the delights that I like piled on my loaded bake potato. My only quibble was that at $17 it was kind of expensive for a potato dish with no meat. I can see from old menus posted on Yelp that their prices have increased like many restaurants after the pandemic. I am glad that I got to check them out and if they were closer to me I would be back to check out the empanadas. read more

Finally made it today after watching the Diner Drive In and Dives episode. And it did not disappoint! Service was amazing, friendly and food came out fast. My son and I had 2 empanadas, cheese balls (omg I'll never have mozzarella sticks again lol) codfish croquettes and had to try their signature dish à Rösti. I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in town. Thank you Mrs Potato! read more

Ok so I tried this place after seeing it on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Don't let the looks fool you, it turned out to be so good. Our host/server was very friendly. Tried a beef empanada as a appetizer and was so good that we had to order another one. It came with a garlic sour cream and the Brazilian version of pico. I got the gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce and picanha. IT WAS DELICIOUS. When I return to a restaurant I normally try other things on the menu but it would be hard for me not to come back just for this. Their rosti meals look amazing too. Great little find. If you're thinking about it, come you won't be disappointed. read more
An excellent experience at this newly reopened eatery. It's sparse inside with minimal decor and seating, but it's well worth waiting for if you head that way. We arrived before the main busy lunch time, which I suggest as it did fill up quickly thereafter. They are working on getting their patio open which will help accommodate more seating. The menu was quick and easy to review and staff was very helpful if you have any questions on offerings. It was very clean and they were quick to clear off tables as they emptied. I wouldn't recommend bringing a larger group here as it's a smaller space; unless you are willing to split tables up. The food was excellent. We really enjoyed everything we ordered. That white sauce is delicious - put it on everything. I recommend the rosti! Overall: A+ Great experience in a smaller location. Avoid bringing a big group, but do try a variety of items and the white sauce!! read more
Mrs. Potato is a small restaurant in a strip mall on Kirkman. The strip mall has definitely seen better days and one would easily pass it by. However, people actually seek out Mrs. Potato and their food because of their being on the popular Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" starring Guy Fieri. In fact, while I was there, a couple a few tables from me were asking their server what Guy had while he was there. Mrs. Potato also know how to market this as they have both a poster of Guy Fieri plus a print saying "Guy Ate Here" that apparently the show gives every restaurant that is featured on the show. This tiny restaurant was indeed busy when I got there, but I was seated and given a menu. My server recommended the carne seca rosti. It sounded good, potatoes and sausage can be a winning combination. Let me say that for a place that calls itself "fast food," I will say that this is by no means an inexpensive meal. My carne seca rosti was either seventeen or eighteen dollars, certainly not a cheap lunch. Service was very good. My server was attentive and professional. So how was my carne seca rosti? It was good. But was it close to twenty dollar good? I cannot really say that it was. I would think this dish should be about eight dollars, maybe nine dollars. Think hash browns with meat and cream cheese inside. But people gladly pay it, even in this small, very spartan surroundings. I am glad that I tried this place. The food is good, though I do think overpriced. I would recommend it, just be warned that this "fast food" joint is anything but cheap. Oh, don't forget to check in and get a complimentary Brazilian soda. read more

On our quest to try all of Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, we came across this gem on his list and it exceeded my expectations. The outside isn't much to look at, located in a strip mall. When you walk inside you're greeted by a wall of a variety of Mr Potato Heads. This restaurant is very casual, nothing special, but the service is warm and inviting. I tried the potato Rosti stuffed with Brazilian meat and cheese called a Carne Seca Rosti. This isn't just any type of cheese, this is Brazilian cheese. I can best describe it as a cross between cream cheese, taste of Brie with the consistency of Cheez Whiz. I highly recommend trying this place. If you appreciate shredded potatoes grilled with delicious cheese and meats, and warm service with a smile, this place is for you. read more
Decided to go here on a whim, cancelled other restaurant plans after seeing guy fieri bite into the biggest, most crispy looking meat hash brown i've ever seen. I was NOT disappointed, the food was all cooked so fresh and portions were huge. We started with a mix of the chicken drops and cheese balls then got calabresa sausage rosti and the chicken catupiry baked potato for our main course. The service was fast and we chose to sit outside because the weather was so nice. Our table was a bit wobbly with uneven legs but it didn't hinder the meal! read more
Just by the name of this place I knew I needed to go-- little did I know just how much I would enjoy it!! First of all, Mrs Potato was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, so if that doesn't give you an idea of how good their food is I don't know what will. When you first walk in there are dozens of potato head figures set up, and it just gives you a goofy, good feeling. And yes, their specialty is POTATOES. Our waitress was seriously so amazing, and she did a great job explaining what some of the menu was, since they have a Brazilian background to them. I wanted to try at least 6 different options because they all sounded good. The empanadas were just fantastic, I will be dreaming about those for a while, especially the shrimp catupiry one- YUM. I got one of the potato dishes rosti style, which basically means the filling is wrapped in hashbrowns, and man was it good. It's not really the type of dish I'd usually choose so I probably wouldn't get it again, but I still went to town on it and would recommend it. I have a hard time even explaining how good this place is, there was not one thing I tried that I didn't immediately fall in love with, I mean what a restaurant. All the workers were great too, I am just absolutely blown away. read more
