I'm not from around this area so I just looked up places on yelp. This place looked great and inviting. As we walked in it's a small place and everyone that worked there was so friendly and inviting. We ordered our food and unfortunately it wasn't what we were expecting. I was expecting flavorful authentic food and it's just not what we got. First visit today. I ordered a machaca burrito, cashier offered to put potatoes I agreed. My first bite of the burrito I get a HUGE bell pepper. Then I take another bite and actually get to the "machaca" let me tell you...if they think unflavored shredded beef is "machaca" they have no idea. I walked in and walked out lol the lady who takes your order was either sleepy or just doesn't give 1 crap about this establishment! I asked her if the hard shell tacos were good and she awkwardly paused and then said people like them (in a slow weird way) and then I asked her is the burrito machacca good? Have you tried it? From my experience here, I would say it's a good place to come when craving mexican food especially if you're craving something unique like tacos de lengua. There was one time when they tried to overcharge me for something (unless there was some misunderstanding). But other than that, I have not had any problems here and for the most part their food is good and cheap compared to other places and they have a salsa bar where you could get some salsa for your free complimentary chips that they give you. I do wish though that their agua frescas were really natural (I could taste the fakiness on some of those drinks) and that their tacos de tripas (intestine) weren't like chicharon (feel like I'm not getting the real deal). But other than that, this is a good place to go quality wise (for the most part just to clarify) and to get your bang for the buck. For a Mexican fast food place, it's pretty close to home style flavors... although not the cheapest taco tues prices. I have been to the mr. Taco on main a bunch of times, first time here. They've been open a week and half, we came in Sunday morning for burritos. Food doesn't disappoint. Fresh meat, veggies, and salsa. Hot yummy tortillas. No fruit case yet but the owner says it's coming. Menudo on the weekends. But I didn't try it. The real key here the people. The day we came in it was the owner and his daughters. They were all super nice and we're great to talk to. As an LA Girl I've had a hard time finding the right taco Tuesday spot and let me tell you this is it. Pro: Micheladas were delicious and free with any purchase of a beer. The tacos de asada were good but alpastor was bomb! The cashier Jason was extremely helpful and truly looked like a one man show. He is the cashier, the server, the waiter, and the bar tender. This place rocks, especially for lunch. They have daily specials and everything is freshly made to order. A little patience is needed and it's worth it. The staff has been extremely friendly and attentive, even when the place is packed. They keep the place tidy too. I've had a few dishes here and really like the Friday fish taco deal the best. They are actual fillets of fish, not fish "nuggets." When you order a hard taco, they actually make your shell. Yeah, it's good! My one big complaint is the lack of a bathroom. On a long ride home from work, I had a hankering for some Mexican food. I went on yelp to find a place I hadn't tried before with a 4 star and up. I saw this place and figured I'd give it a try. The menu had all of the basic things you would look for (burritos, tacos, tortas, etc (I didnt have to wait to long for my food by the way). The customer service was good too. I had 2 Al Pastor tacos and a carne asada torta. The tacos were really tasty! They even came with some grilled onions on the side. The bread for the torta tasted fresh as well. The torta could have maybe needed a lil more meat. Thats minor compared to it's overall taste. Would definitely recommend and go again. read more
