I haven't had lash extensions in years, but wanted to have them for my friend's wedding that I was a part of. Upon some research, I found Ms Kawaii who offers evening appointments which was very convenient for my schedule. I had my appointment on a Thursday night around 7pm and honestly was not very excited with the final result, which did not look like the photos I had shown my tech, Yuki. I've never been the type of person who had the guts to speak up but I knew that Ms Kawaii has a 5 day warranty so I ultimately decided to send a text about 20 hours after my initial appointment and going back and forth on whether I should to share my experience and feelings on the set I received. I explained I had my event the next day so I thought it might be too late to fix them but that I still hoped for some sort of resolution. Luckily, they did inform me that they would be able to take me that night, which I was initially hesitant for since I was told my first set would look like the picture I showed and they did not so I worried what I wanted might not be able to be executed. For context, I've never been to lash salons that have a menu for you to choose different things, such as material, style, and glue type. In the past, I would just show reference photos and let the tech recreate them. So keep this in mind if you have also never experienced choosing from a menu since they explained to me that the "material" I chose is why my first set turned out the way they did. I came in again about 24 hours after my first appointment and Yuki was there to help me get my lashes fixed to what I wanted. She was incredibly patient and kind the entire time, even in our first meeting, and I am very grateful that both she and Ms Kawaii were able to help me resolve my issues. read more

Thank you fabulous Yelp AMB Sarah S for recommending Ms Kawaii. After reading her glowing review of this place, I decided to give it a try. The salon is supa Kawaii. My tech Uni was sweet and explained the procedure to me. I selected the 2D lash extensions. The bed was comfy, and the music was calming. I was so relaxed; I almost fell asleep. Uni had a gentle touch and the whole procedure took about an hour. If you pay cash they will give you a rewards card. Once you collect 10 stamps you get $35 off your next service. (First time customers get $20 off.) They also offer glue for sensitive eyes, which I will request next time because my eyes started to burn a little when I got in the car. My lashes turned out beautiful, and I was happy with them. There is a small, shared parking lot in the back and also a rear entrance. If there are no parking spaces available there is a paid lot a few feet away. read more

I am leaving 2 stars just to be generous but i'm not sure how these techs have their license! This has nothing to with character or their customer service as this is my second time going to this company, one time in pasadena and one time in monterey park. Both times i had a great experience in terms of customer service . I'm only concerned with their techniques and how they actually apply the lashes. Both times that i got my lashes done, i got blepharitis. i know this isn't a user error because i took care of them as they say to. but im more concerned with their placement. i noticed they dont focus on isolation which is key to lash extensions. they place them on 2-4 lashes at a time which also caused me to loose a lot of lashes while getting them removed. i had to go to another licensed lash technician to assist me and who was able to educate me more on lash extensions. because the extensions is on multiple lashes at a time; there was no room for my natural lashes to breath or release their natural oils and caused buildup as they are bunched up at the root. my natural lashes are falling out and i had to go get checked out by a doctor and was given a prescription. ive had lash extensions before and this has never happened to me only after i came to this company. just be mindful and be educated if you're considering booking. i just personally will never come here again. read more

I've always gone with the 2D hybrid & I've just recently found a new love for something more natural so I went with the YY hybrid. I have been going to Ms. Kawaii for over 8 years and have always seen Hannah. Even when I wasn't living in LA, I made time to get my lashes done during visits. One constant issue with this place and their other locations is that they frequently move their lash techs. To continue seeing Hannah, I had to go to Pasadena, SGV, Brea, and Monterey Park (she's still amazing). When Hannah was sent to the Whittier location, I tried a new tech who cut my bottom lashes without telling me, was rude, and did a poor job on my new set. I discovered the cut lashes only after getting home and checking in a larger mirror. I never returned to SGV after that horrifying experience. I then found Serena at the SGV location after Hannah left. While Serena did decent work, she overcharged me every time. Recently, I went back 6 days after a refill because chunks of my lashes had fallen off. Despite asking her to use more glue, the lashes kept falling off easily. She tried to charge me $53 for a fix when I had paid $65 just 6 days earlier. Hannah always charged me reasonably. After making another appointment with Serene, I received a text saying she no longer wanted to do my lashes. I was always polite, even when Serene was late. I complimented her work and was flexible with appointment changes. I'm upset because I've been a loyal customer for so long, referred many people, and never complained, yet I feel there's no customer loyalty in return. read more

I have been a loyal customer of this salon for NINE years. I've always tipped well, driven over an hour to their locations, and remained committed to them through schedule changes and moves. I was their ideal, flexible, and dedicated customer. That loyalty meant nothing. My last experience was a masterclass in fraudulent business practices: 1. I paid in cash for a full set, which includes a standard 5-day warranty. 2. When the service needed a fix, they invented a reason to deny the warranty (claiming that they mentioned that the warranty is revoked when you come from another salon which they FAILED to mention). 3. They then refused to schedule the fix, tried to send me to a location even further away, and after an unforeseen circumstance made me late for an appointment they finally offered, they falsely claimed I "missed a final deadline" for a fix they never honored. Let my experience be a warning: If this is how they treat a customer of 9 years who always went the extra mile, imagine how they'll treat you. They will take your money and then use every excuse to avoid standing behind their work. Have been getting my lashes done for just under a year with Ally! I do a 2D hybrid, cat eye with C curl! If I use the strongest glue (not recommended for sensitive eyes) it lasts me 4 works at least with minimal shedding! I do 11-13mm, so it fits well with my glasses! Ally is so gentle, super attentive, and if I ask for adjustment (rare) she has always been accommodating. It's such a chill place as well. I fall asleep every time and wake up with a look! read more

I've now been to Ms Kawaii four times and I am over the moon happy! I always go to Uni who is so kind, quick, and chill inducing but I've heard other people are great. There is a free parking lot in the back of the shop, then you need to walk around to the front. Their prices are excellent plus they have a rewards system! Pay with cash, or at least tip with ca$h moneys if you can. When you walk into the shop, it's so darn adorable! You could totally take instagrammable pics with their cute background. After laying down for the service, it's so relaxing. Calm music and you just lay in silence. Get your meditation on, organize your thoughts or even fall asleep. Yes, it's that calm that you may pass out, and quite common so don't feel self-conscious! Once we're done, my lashes look BOMB.
