I don't normal get eyelash extension but thought it would be a great idea for my trip. This would be the 2nd time I ever get eyelash extension. My first time was at another place. I decided to come here because I saw the special listed on Yelp page "Special first time Classic full set eyelash extensions now $49." I made an appointment for 1/17. On the day of, the receptionist called and asked to move up my appointment which is fine by me. The parking lot is small and if you come during busy hour, you might have to find parking on the street. They asked that you bring your vaccination card with you. When I made the appointment I specifically said I wanted the classic full set $49 first time special. When I arrived they asked for my DL and for me to fill out a form. A technician name Luna approached me and informed me that nobody gets the classic full set $49 because the material is not good. She showed me other options and I believe I got the "Double Tips Mink, First Time $60." I can't help but noticed the other place I went to did the same "tactic" where they would offer a 1st time special and when you arrived, they would ask you to pick another option because the one they offered "isn't good." I wonder if anyone else has the same experience. Upon looking at the samples, I wanted to feel comfortable and went with her suggestion Double Tips Mink instead of Classic Full Set. I asked for a natural look and the whole process took about 45 min. Luna was gentle. The style I got was Double Tips Mink 10 and 9 in inner corners. After she finished, she gave me a small fan to dry the glue because I couldn't really open my eyes. It was teary a bit and eventually I was able to open my eyes. Once I got home, I noticed my eyes were red and they remained red for the next 2-3 days. I was worried because this didn't happen during my first time with another place. My friends same it's common and to wait 2-3 days and it'll be fine, and it did. I have no intention of getting refills and noticed it lasted exactly 1 month when everything fell off naturally. I must say the glue they used held up! If I ever get eyelash extension again, I would not want a natural look because it doesn't really show up in photos. For this particular style, it looked better in person. They take cash and if you pay with a credit card, there would be a $1 charge. I don't know how others can put up with the discomfort/red eyes/stings when it goes near water even after 48 hours. I would recommend Luna because it came out great and she was gentle. read more

Such bad customer service! Not to mention some lashes fell off ONE day after I got the done . The lady who did my lashes was so rude and was speaking to me as if I didn't know what I was doing, when they allowed me to get my lashes filled since some fell off after one day, once I came in and told them my situation they wouldn't stop staring and gave such nasty looks, but why if they're the ones who did a bad job . Later on my eyes were getting irritated every now and then. This didn't happen until after I got them done. So I talked to my doctor and they said it's the glue they used. Tired of this place already not wanting to go back I just called them to ask what they used so I know not to use it for another salon instead of asking for a redo or what not. So I did. I told them the situation and asked the to give me the glue name so I know when I go into other salons, to suggest them not to use that one so I won't get allergic allergies. But, instead they said "We will just use sensitive glue next time." I've said I won't be coming back, just let me know what it is so I can prevent this from happening again. I found that the technique was gentle and the glue did not irritate my eyes as much as other places. Actually my eyes felt just fine for a majority of the procedure. There was a little bit of stinging but minimal. As for the price, I actually bought a Groupon for a full set of mink lashes. According to Groupon, I had paid $61 for this. I 'upgraded' when I was at Miji to get the 2D for an extra $9. the 2D lashes means that there are two mink lashes to every one of your natural lashes. The result is a very voluminous and full look. It has taken some getting used to but I like them! However, next time I will go back to the one-to-one lashes because I prefer a more natural look. this place was super popular when I was there. There are multiple eyelash technicians and I believe all of them were busy. I think they take up to eight people at a time. I would recommend making an appointment. read more

This was my third visit to MIJI and my first time getting eyelash extension removal for a new set. When I called in to schedule an appointment, the receptionist said my lash tech would be Vicky, but I ended up with Miki. The process took about 1.5 hours since I got 2D this time for a more voluminous look. During the procedure, I felt stinging pain in my left eye, but it eventually went away. My lashes turned out fine and I paid $86 total for them, but my eyes were pretty dry and red. After 6 hours without any issues, my left eye felt like it was on fire. It was so irritated that even blinking hurt. I called MIJI the very next day and the receptionist told me that it's due to the weather and that I'm probably having an allergic reaction. She offered for me to come in to have them removed, but there's no way I'd come in for lash removal again. It's been 3 days and luckily the irritation went away and my eye no longer hurts. However, I am pretty scarred because I can't imagine life without vision. I'll probably be taking my business elsewhere just as a precaution and with a lab tech who will talk me through new procedures. read more

I've had my extensions for over a month now and I feel like it's about time I can give an honest review of my overall experience. First of all, I was pretty skeptical about trying MIJI because of the reviews. Some were bad and some sounded too good to be true, until I saw a fellow Elite try this place out and I trusted her review. I made an appointment with the owner through Yelp and she was very quick with her responses, very accommodating, and she answered all of my questions. MIJI is located in a strip mall will a pretty small parking lot and it's very difficult getting a parking spot. I would suggest parking on the street in the residential area. I arrived to my appointment 20 mins early and they asked me to fill out some paperwork. My appointment was at 2:00 but the technician I requested, Coco didn't get to me until 2:15. Coco is very patient and listened to my requests. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my lashes and she explained to me that everyone's eye shape is different so it may no turn out completely the same. I asked for my lashes to be natural but fuller towards the center rather than the wispy look where all the length was toward the ends. I chose 100% mink and she put some different lengths on me to see how long I wanted my lashes. I chose 12mm which was perfect for my eyes. The mink lashes are very soft but they do kinda lose their curl. I also requested that she used the sensitive glue, but I'm not quite sure what's the difference but Coco said I should since I was my first time getting lash extensions. The process was pretty fast in my opinion. Coco only took 45 mins to put on a full set. I felt really relaxed and the technicians talked to a minimum. When she was done, she put some eye drops in my eyes and used a portable fan to dry the glue. Try keeping your eyes closed until the glue is completely dry because it really stings. Prices are fairly "cheap" because for first time customers, a full set 100% mink only costs $60. They also offer a stamp card! Aftercare: Coco directed me to not get any water on my eyes for at least 6 hours. She also gave me a spoolie and printed aftercare directions. I had a good experience at MIJI but having eyelash extensions is a lot of work. Also, if you don't typically wear falsies, extensions will make your eyes very tired. You won't feel it, but it really does. The reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the lashes on my right eye are kinda crooked and they've been falling out A LOT faster than my left eye even though I sleep on my left side. Also, from what I see at other eyelash extension studios, you can pick your curl shape but not here. Since the 100% mink lashes lose their curl, I wish I had the option to pick my lash curl. It's been slightly over a month and I still have about 30% of my extensions left and I'm pretty impressed. I'm not sure about getting a fill though, like I said above, the maintenance is a lot of work. read more

I came to this place because a friend of mine recommended me to go here for eyelash extensions. I happened to find a Groupon for this place as well but I didn't realize that the Groupon wasn't that much of a deal compared to the in store price for first time customers. This was my first time getting eyelash extensions so I was a bit overwhelmed by the different types of lashes. I didn't really know what would suit me. My Groupon was for the classic lashes but I didn't like the way they felt so I upgraded to the 3D lashes and paid the difference. The 3D lashes were much softer and they glued 3 lashes to my single lash. Ruby did my lashes and she was very patient and sweet. Whenever she finished glueing the lashes, I didn't like the way they looked; the lashes was too full and too dramatic for my taste. She fixed it by taking some of the lashes out and I felt much more comfortable. The whole process took longer than I had expected. I was there for almost an hour and a half. She said that I have a lot of lashes so with 3D it made it a lot fuller. She suggested next time I try 2D or the double tip. The owner is an arrogant businesswoman who treats her employees like they are still in China. Just because it's cheap, doesn't mean you should put your natural lashes through this type of unorthodox practice that NO other lash studio condones. I was a client for years, from the onset of their grand opening. When I left, my current lash technician was astonished at how much excess cheap glue they stuck on each lash just for the appearance of full lashes. To boot, their cancellation policy literally breaks the CA law. But who cares, as long as they're cheap?! The first time I got my lashes done by Vicky, she did an amazing job. The lashes lasted me over a month and hardly any fell off week to week. However, upon getting a new set on November 6th, up until my fill on November 18th, so many of my lashes fell off in a short period of time. There was a ton of fall out on one part of my eye, even though I do not sleep on my side, or put anything on my face when I sleep. I also do not rub my eyes and clean my lashes daily (brush as well). I told this to Vicky during my fill on November 18th and she "fixed" the problem. I paid about $50 for the fill to be disappointed yet again. It has not even been a week and many of my lashes fell off on my left eye. There is a huge hole in the middle and most of it fell off by combing my lashes daily. Upon getting my second set, Miji/Vicky has been inconsistent and has left me disappointed. My family members who also come for Vicky have been having similar problems as well. I most likely won't be coming back or will have to look for a different lash lady who has more consistent work and less fallout. UPDATED TO RESPOND: The owner did not accurately depict my concerns. I got a new set on November 6th and received a fill on November 18th. She said a new set should last 3 weeks, however upon the fill on November 18th, I had lost a significant amount of lashes already (much more in comparison to my first set I got during the summer). My fill was only less than 2 weeks out, therefore I should still have a good amount of lashes (since it's less than 3 weeks). This was not the case. I get my lashes done here by Vicky and love them every time! She does a great job making them look full yet natural. The best thing about MIJI is that they respect the customer's appointment time. I've never waited longer than 5 min when I make an appointment here. They send reminder texts the day before your appointment and they also have a $10 off birthday certificate if you sign up with them! I also started a stamp card with them which is good for $10 off your next service after going 10 times. Their prices are pretty fair for the service. My lashes last anywhere from 2.5-3 weeks every time and I've referred several of my friends here. Saves me so much time in the morning because I don't want to put on eyeliner. I'm very upset to now retract a great review I previously left for this business a couple years ago. I will explain why : ... FOR THE SAN GABRIEL LOCATION I apologize in advance for the length of this review .. My last visit yesterday was anything but pleasant. The eyelash technician I got was also the same person to greet me at the check in counter. I didn't have an appointment so I asked her if there was an opening available and that I did call ahead of time but couldn't get anyone on the phone. I was greeted with a attitude right upon walking in when I asked for an available time I was yelled at with "ok?! do you want right now?!" I said sure? The tech told me ok this is the 4 week refill or touch-up. I asked about the price difference for the 4 weeks and she just kept saying it's been 4 weeks and finally answered me about the price after I persisted in asking to what seemed like the beginning of an argument. I know the price difference was listed in the lobby but because of how fast she insisted I be, I couldn't see the posted price while being taken to a table so fast. Since I wanted my lashes done and I do pick my battles I ignored her demeanor which I shouldn't have. While actually refilling my lashes she now starts speaking in a foreign language with an obvious annoyed or rude speaking tone almost yelling and laughing to the other techs in the business. She then starts to say that I should have been prepared because I didn't remove my eyeliner to which I reminded her that it was her decision to take me right away and that I had told her I needed to remove it and would do so myself with some wipes. She did it instead and she still didn't respond to me, then while fixing the lashes she was throwing and slamming her hand on the pillow next to my head as if to tell me that every lash is pissing her off. She then started to move my head while doing my lashes a bit too rough! I didn't think too much at first... But she then tried to move my head roughly twice after that! Now it is worth mentioning that I know that if I do not complain about this in a civil way I would look as if I'm the only one with this experience at this business. Or look as if am just a bad customer even if at that time regardless of what I hope was just bad luck... Once the lashes were done I did tell her thank you they looked great and that she did a great job! She still didn't respond then checked me out at the counter. Now I didn't say anything up until this point until because I was both taken a back about her behavior and most of all trying to control my own, As there were other paying customers who didn't deserve the drama and mostly to not look as a irrational trouble maker. The mentioned tech then demanded a tip while she had her hands on her hips! I shouldn't have given her anything however I gave her a $5 she rolled her eyes in my face and walked away. I walked out to calm myself down and to take in what happened where I paid for a service and was treated soo poorly. I then Reentered and spoke to someone else and was told that I would never get her as a tech again and while I was speaking to her I was being talked about yet again as they the girl behind the counter and the tech I had, interrupted my speaking with the tech I had throw my tip on the counter and walk away from me. The young girl behind the counter had nothing to do with any of this granted. I also realize that I was might be not the norm. However for all these techs to all speak the same language talk amongst each other about customers in a obviously disrespectful manner that is made painfully obvious even without knowing the language. All of this was allowed and then not even a : "I'm sorry that should never happen I will give you a discount". Nope just "Don't worry I will tell her to not help you again!". As if I am the inconvenience! I was a paying customer who didn't deserve to be treated with the disrespect nor abuse. I will unfortunately now have to find another eyelash shop of hopefully decent polite and professional techs. This place is great for Asian (monolid, hooded, smaller) eyes! They're flexible with reservations (done through text message or phone call), and they listen to what style you want. I had a particularly awful job done, and they removed the lashes and did 9-mm (a natural look that fit my eye shape perfectly) for $89. I wanted that "your lashes but better" look, and that's exactly what they provided. They provide surgical masks to keep both parties safe, and take temperature checks at the door. I found this joint through Groupon and I'm glad I did! I read some reviews and booked a appt with Jasmine. I had a 6pm appt and was seated promptly at 6pm. Jasmine was very welcoming and asked questions on what type of look I was going for which was helpful since I'm no expertise on eyelash extensions. So I went with her advice and opted for the mink lashes (+$7 on top of the Groupon) and got 11-13 lashes. Jasmine was also very considerate and asking me throughout the process to let her know if my eyes burn because of the strong glue and that she could use an alternative glue. It turned out very natural looking and my eyes look bigger. My session took about ~45 minutes. They offer stamp cards as well, after 10 stamps the next service is $20 off! Only downside as it's Asian owned, workers would be talking to each other as the tables are next to each other so no privacy, but I don't mind it. Overall, nice experience and I would definitely go back! They're located in a shared plaza, so parking may be difficult if it's busy but street parking is readily available. $1 charge to use CC! read more

Lashes are such a must when wearing a mask 90% of the time. No need for makeup nowadays. Covid safety: The lash tech wears two masks. N95 and the regular mask. I was a bit apprehensive going in but I feel safe and they are I believe appt only. The door is locked and they open the door when you knock. They have limited techs working so make an appt. Also, you're at least 6ft away from the next customer (at least the two times I went I was) and wouldn't get it done if they had another customer directly next to me (pre-covid). The tech also sanitized her hands prior to starting the lash treatment. Pricing: The prices did increase by $5 for fills and they only take cash or Venmo -no Credit Cards. Here's what I think of Miji. They are clean and the staff is welcoming. You tell them what you want and they deliver. However, I feel like the quality of the lashes are not great. After a week and half a few lashes may look less of lash and more like a crooked straight fake hair. If that makes any sense. The techs are really fast, but because they are so fast I believe they 'accidentally' get lashes stuck/glued together. Which shouldn't happen. These lashes get tangled up so easily, more than other lash extensions I've gotten done. And yes I do brush my lashes daily. They charge $15 for lash removal, other places charge $10. The price overall isn't too bad though, but I think I rather pay more for quality. read more

So disappointed with my appointment today. I've been here a number of times over the years. I've moved out of this area but come back when I can because I used to love their services and outcome of the lashes. But I'm not sure I'll be returning anymore, or at least not to Celine. Several things I didn't like today.. not to mention the super weird and uneven lashes. 1. Celine had her phone right next to my head and it vibrated with messages and calls randomly throughout the session. Even when I asked her to move it, she just moved it to another area.. also near my head which would just startle me whenever it vibrated. 2. It is so unsanitary to touch her phone and then work on my eyelids/lashes. 3. This has never happened with any technician before but when Celine took off the tape at the end, it literally made me tear because it was painful! For both eyes! 4. The lashes themselves. I've always been over the top satisfied but this time, my right looks great and left looks uneven. I told her it looked off and she spent another 10min trying to fix it. Her English is not great and I also don't speak any mandarin although I can understand. It still looked weird and Celine asked another technician to come explain to me that it's my eyelid. But when the other technician saw it, even she said "isn't the middle way too long and clumped" in mandarin. Eventually, this other technician went ahead and tried to justify Celine too in English. They did offer to redo it but by this time, I had already been there for about 1.5 hours and would be late to my next appointment and picking up my kids. I told them I have a wedding tomorrow and I'll be flying on Sunday so there's just no time left for me to fix it. I just paid and left. You'll see in the photo how one eye is perfectly fine and the other is off. I left super frustrated and feel embarrassed that my lashes will look like this for one or the most important events for my best friend. Don't get fills, they fall off quicker but the Employees don't tell you before. I informed them my fills were falling in excess and more on the left eye than right, and they explicitly said fills don't last very long and that's why they recommend against them. They lied. No one explained this to me nor did they advise me against it. All my money to the trash. They couldn't care less and were rude. It didn't last a day being full and by the third day my lashes were drastically thinned and uneven. read more

***UPDATED REVIEW*** Per my first review (I don't know if it still shows up still), this place is very clean and the workers are very nice. My first experience was pleasant until I saw the results. The style did not match my eyes and the eyelashes were uneven. I was mortified because it was Thursday and I had a company dinner on Friday and a wedding on Saturday that I could not miss. BUT I sucked it up and went anyways (yes I was very sad every time I passed by a mirror or saw my reflection). On Friday I was reached out to both through text and Yelp apologizing for the experience and asking if I'd like to give them another try. NORMALLY I wouldn't have taken this offer but after attempting to use my own eyelash remover (provided by my last technician in Korea because I'm so picky that if it doesn't look perfect I take them all off immediately), I found that it wouldn't come off!! Which is great if you want to keep them long term but bad for me because I could not wait to get rid of them. So anyways, I took them up on the offer today and went in to at least get them removed. After talking with the technician I was explained to that some of the boxes were mislabeled and that's why the eyes were uneven and as for the style I guess there was some sort of miscommunication. The technician was more thorough with trying to understand what I wanted exactly and gave me a fresh, perfectly even set. When I got up to pay, I was told that the visit was free of charge and they wouldn't even let me tip! Not only did I leave with a perfect set of eyelash extensions but they also gave me a coupon for when I was to come in for my refill and I will definitely be coming back for my refill. In summary, the people here are running a very honest business and have won me and my recommendations over by miles. ALSO, their removal process is the best removal process I've ever experienced! No runaway water trailing down the sides of your face into your ears and no burn!! read more

When I first moved to LA a few months ago, I searched high and low to find a suitable eyelash extensions salon and after having gone through multiple establishments from west to east LA, I stumbled across this gem from a social media advertisement. Having lived all the way in Culver City at the time, I decided to check this place out despite it being quite the drive to San Gabriel. I was not disappointed the first time I came in. Quaint, little shop with lots of pink interior and multiple bed stations allow for many technicians to work at a time. I came in for my appointment and they checked me in and showed me what styles I wanted to do along with what type of hair I wanted. (Classics, classic Mink, 100% mink, etc) The menu can be somewhat overwhelming at first because you will have so many questions between classic vs. full set or 2D vs 3D but they answered my questions and even showed me how a certain length would look on my eye before getting started. I have gotten both Shery and Mina and while English is a second language for almost all the technicians in the salon, they do their very best to accommodate your style needs. Mina has become my new GO-TO girl and there have even been occasions where I would go back because one side seemed fuller than the other and she fixed it for me without any hesitation. Great, friendly customer service from these girls! Best of all: they give you lash brushes with each visit AND you get a stamp every visit for loyalty and after 10 visits, it's one free 2 week any type of fill! Cash only but you can pay with debit and tip on card as well! Lashes are a girls best friend and I've already gone back 4 times since first trying them out, so worth it!! read more
