They can't control the pharmaceutical compounding prices, and it usually comes out of pocket unless you have an HSA account. I still prefer this than any regular doctor or practice covered with my insurance. You really don't have a lot of choices for things you may develop in the future. I still have insurance in case there's need, but if I don't need to go to the hospital,clinic, or practitioner ruled by big pharm, I will always choose an alternative. First, be prepared to play several rounds of phone tag to get an initial appointment. No one answers the phone and it takes days to receive a call back. My issues are not with Linzi, the dietitian, but with her husband and counter-part, Jay. After my appointment with Linzi, I was feeling motivated but still a little lost. I thought I would feel better after I met with the nurse practitioner, Lindsay. I tried for weeks to get an appointment with her, again playing phone tag with Jay, to finally get an appt. That appt. never happened because the N.P. quit. Jay asked me to come in the same day for vitals and an EKG (prior to my visit with the nurse). He showed up late and THEN advised me that their nurse quit and that he couldn't help me. Why couldn't he let me know BEFORE I drove all the way to their offices in the middle of a work day? He couldn't give me a good excuse. Without a nurse, I was unable to complete the program and wasn't given any guidance to move forward except to contact my own doctor to continue the program. This is the worst experience EVER! So unprofessional and absolutely no regard for their NEW patients. I again feel lost and defeated.

I went to Ageless Men's health and received shots 1 or 2 times a week which was pretty rough on my schedule because their office is way up 183. I had great results with them and I loved the staff there but in the end weekly shots were taking up too much of my time (especially when I needed to be out of town and had to travel with needles). After mentioning I was doing this, a friend told me you can get pellets that slowly release the T over 4-6 months vs getting shots weekly so I decided to look into that. I went to Austin Clinic for Men and ended up talking with Eugene who is fantastic. I've had the pellets for a few months now and for me, they seem to be working way better than the shots did and I don't even need to think about it which is fantastic. If you think you might benefit from T supplementation I'd recommend them for sure. p.s. Yes, the pellets are surgically implanted in your butt and it's not fun (painful, TBH) but for me saving all that time going back and forth to get shots was well worth it.
