Well first of all never remove a cocktail without asking if you "are finished" as I actually had a couple of sips left in my cocktail ...so I did say something to my server so she brought me back a couple of sips on a new drink .., I will be back for more details on my dinner... ordered the burger which they are basically known for & it was very good. They have a varied menu which is a good thing to have variety. I will be back but the noise level is about an 8 out of 10. It would have been nice if our server asked if we wanted dessert or anything else before placing our bill on our table... locally owned so it's important to support our local restaurants

Great game day service and specials. A fun, dim lit dive with friendly staff and decent bar food. An indoor area with TVs surrounding the room, there's not a table or bar seat you wouldn't be able to watch the game. There is extended outdoor seating that's enclosed if it's busy. Great quick stop for some bar food and a beer!

Reuben - but not what menu says. This has Cole slaw, not sauerkraut on it.

Busy night and they were under staffed. Reuben had sauerkraut in the description but came with coleslaw. Corned beef didn't have much flavor. They used Russian dressing instead of Thousand Island. Might be a great place for burgers but I wouldn't order the Reuben again.

My sister recommended we come here for the chicken fingers and man was she right! Great tenders, great ranch and my husband loved his burger!

Burrata Caprese Salad was on special and was absolutely amazing! Great summer dish.

Always a great spot for a drink and surprisingly an amazing place to grab a bite. Not your typical bar food. Great quality. It's definitely a bar ambiance with it being on the louder side. Lots of tv's and plenty of tables. The service is always good. This place gets packed too, so give yourself extra time if a game is on or if it's dinner time. Many locals patronize this place.

    Loaded chili

I was taken to Mt. Chalet for my birthday dinner because my friend "raved" about the chilli. We both ordered loaded chilli with cheese and sour cream drizzled on top. We each had a salad and coconut shrimp appetize with sweet chili sauce. The waitress was very pleasant. The atmosphere was nice and the chili was delicious. Reasonably priced.

    Burnt Ends

I got a large order and everything was good. BUT was not happy they charge ~$22 for 6 tiny burnt ends. Don't get the burnt ends!!!! Total rip off

Dinner food is consistently good. Someone always opts for chicken tenders because they're delicious. Pro tip: Get the buffalo sauce.

    Philly cheesesteak

Here's a draft for your review: --- We had an overall decent experience. Our server, Abigail, provided adequate service, though she could have given us more time to look at the drink menu. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, which had a wonderful flavor, but the roll fell apart, making it difficult to eat. When it comes to the fries, I would recommend sharing instead of ordering individually, as the portions are generous. A heads-up: if you order side condiments, there is a $1 fee. Overall, a mixed experience but with some good points.

Great sliders, beer selection and the closest thing you will find to a dive bar in Birmingham.

All of their salads are delicious. Try the Kale salad. The fried egg on top is the perfect addition.

First time at the Redcoat and I'm already planning my return. I loved EVERYTHING about this place…read morefrom the food to the atmosphere to our amazing server to the outside facade. Before I get to the food, I want to say THANK YOU to our lovely server who welcomed us warmly, made sure we always had what we needed, took our photo, and got our orders right. Now the food...let's start with a shout-out to the kitchen who perfectly executed the widely varied burger topping and temperature combinations for six people. My meal...magically battered onion rings and mushrooms followed by one of the finest burgers I've ever swallowed. 8 oz of flavorful medium rare juicy bliss on a fantastic bun topped with lettuce tomato pickle and cole slaw joy. Truly heaven and I remembered to eat it slowly. Thank you Redcoat for transporting me back to a simpler time when everyone agreed.

I was driving home when I realized that I was given the wrong burger. Stay with me. I was puzzled…read moreabout why the burger lacked flavor and seasoning. I had to add ketchup to amp up the flavor. At first, I attributed it to the Scotch egg I had, a soft-boiled egg wrapped in well-seasoned sausage and fried. Both the sausage and the accompanying sauce were savory and tasty. And then, I thought, potentially, it was the battered onion rings that dulled my taste buds. However, logically, the Brasserie burger includes bacon, caramelized onions, and Dijon mustard, flavors that are not muted nor shy about shouting their presence. I checked my leftovers and found no evidence of those add-ons, and then found my receipt. I was charged for a plain hamburger, so at least I didn't pay more than I should have. But I was disappointed not to have received what I ordered. Service was otherwise fine.

Left in the capable hands of Edith H, our server, we thoroughly enjoyed the beverages, food and overall experience. My cappuccino was perfectly executed - frothy and hot. The large portion of Smoked Salmon Scramble was delicious - fluffy eggs, large chunks of salmon and melted creamed cheese goodness with buttered English Muffin. My companion declared the Lump Cake Crab Benedict the BEST EVER. NOTE: a 20% Gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Edith was kind enough to encircle the charge when she handed us the check. Just one more wonderful thing about her and the excellent service we received. Parking is complimentary with plenty of spaces just behind the building. Total bill was reasonable, considering the quality of the service and tip worked into the check at just under $70.
