I'd like to give 4.5 stars; but steadfastly, our friends at Yelp don't yet trust us with half…read morestars. I decided to do take out here, which I almost never do. Everything turned out well enough to warrant a future return. There is ample parking for the business. The dining area is nicely configured and many tables were filled when I arrived. The staff greeted me and asked if I would like a seat. Upon saying I'd like take out, I was able to immediately place my order. The restaurant has a large number of Thai offerings. I went with Eggrolls, Chicken Pad Thai and Pork Laab. I waited about 10 minutes for my order. It was nicely packaged for easy carry out. All of the food was good and even as take out, it was hot when we dug in. My dining partner and I both agreed that our dishes could have been spicier. I will remember to ask for more spice on return trips. The eggrolls were flavorful but reminded us of taquitos. There were 3 in the order, which seemed a bit skimpy for the price. In some cases, even without the benefit of half stars, I'll grade up. I didn't in this case. I was told what I owed upon ordering. I paid with bills requiring change to be made. Instead of making change, I was asked "do you want change?" The answer is yes. I understand it is the idea of them keeping it as a tip. I suggest giving me my change and letting me make the tipping decision. That said, I'll go back in the future.

It seemed as if they were making each dish one at a time and without much prep. Perhaps they have gotten more efficient as they figure things out with their new business. Menu is VERY pork forward, which is fine, but vegetarians should know that their entree selections will be extremely limited. Their salad choices seem promising, however. The eggrolls have a very good flavor and the plum dipping sauce is delicious. However, the eggrolls are so tightly packed with pork that the textural experience is somewhat akin to eating a deep-fried hotdog. My Pa Kra Pao was flavorful and juicy. However, it seemed like something that I could have made at home. My date enjoyed her sausage as well, but noted that she largely paid $14 for a single sausage, with the large majority of the dish consisting of plain rice and a fried egg. Not a bad experience overall, but I don't think we feel the need to return soon.

You seat yourself and a server will come over with menus and take your order. I ordered the senior meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and peas. Hubby ordered the three-cheese burger cooked medium and fries. My meatloaf was tender and flavorful with just the right amount of gravy. Mashed potatoes had small little lumps that tasted homemade. Peas were crisp tender and buttery. Hubby's burger was cooked perfectly and fries were slightly battered, hot and crispy. We both liked how our servings were a little smaller than what you get nowadays. Servings have become too large in most restaurants and it contributes to unhealthy bodies but these servings were enough to satisfy you without overfilling you. Service was prompt and she checked on us enough without coming over too much. The place is so interesting with all of its historical memorabilia. They are true patriots and honor vets and service members, demonstrating their love for our nation. Great lunch experience.

I've eaten at this restaurant about a half dozen times during the past three years. I don't think it gets enough credit locally. The food is always good, the service is reliable and the restaurant is well maintained. The theme, as the name implies, is veteran oriented. There are nice sized tables and booths, which make dining comfortable. I've always eaten there for breakfast. The size of the menu is just right, offering many options for anyone in your dining party. I've had a couple of different breakfasts and found the flavorful, well prepared and filling. If you drink coffee, you'll never have an empty cup! To me, this is everything a local restaurant should be. If you are in the mood for breakfast or lunch, I wouldn't hesitate to give the place a shot!
