I took some customers in to Scuba's for some casual dinner and drinks. The place was jumping with the usual "after work" crowd of locals. There are bars like Scuba's all over Wisconsin, so IMO you really need to offer something that separates you from the rest besides an unusual name. We started out with cheese curds and some wings. Both were good. For dinner, I ordered the Blackened Ahi Tacos - which were recommended by our server. They were also good, but not great. They had good flavor and were priced correctly, but they just didn't stand out. I didn't get to snap any pictures since I was out with customers, but I don't know that I would've anyway. Again, there was nothing wrong with our meal. The food was good. The service was good. The value was good. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd probably stop in for dinner every now and then. read more

Went on a Sunday, restaurant was nearly empty. Seated ourselves and were met with a server who asked about drinks, and my wife and I asked for water. Water was brought and we said we needed a minute to decide on food. After a half hour of being ignored and watching a couple who got there after us have their orders taken, we left. We went there to get a pastrami sandwich. My expectations were low (havent found a place in the Fox Valley that has pastrami!) but was i ever surprised! They have Reuben that is killer! Tender corned beef on really good rye with a really good sauce. If I can't get pastrami, I'll take this Reuben any day. Hubby had a awesome crispy chicken sandwich. Solid bar food & service was very good! TONS of fries on the side, which I always like. Food came out quick even though they were fairly busy. Only complaint is they almost charged me an extra beer, but the couple next to me bought one for us, so probably an honest mistake, but think if I hadn't checked the receipt! The Guy server that was also working the bar was a complete jerk (I'd call him worse but yelp took down my first review) Overly sarcastic and disrespectful to my wife and parents, not in a funny way at all When my wife asked for 2 separate sauces on each half of her wing order he said we would hold up the kitchen (are you serious??) Never had a better fish fry, and at age 57 that is saying something. Haddock was nicely battered, not too greasy, fries were hot and well seasoned, the bread was amazing--thick cut marble rye from a local bakery thick cut, lightly toasted and well buttered. A+++ read more

Was up here for work during the Super Bowl so I decided to order in to my hotel room. Got their steak sandwich plus an order of their jalapeno cheese curds. All in all, the food was good. The steak was an actual steak, not just slices of meat and was cooked medium like I had asked. The fries were your standard fries that were decent but nothing mind blowing. The cheese curds were okay but didn't seem to have much of a jalapeno "kick" to them so I was a little sad. Like I said, I ordered in so all I can review is the food. Shrimp tacos used to be our favorite but last time we went they put maybe 3 small shrimp on both. The male bartender EVERYTIME we've gone the past 2 years has been awful but we've dealt with it because food was good. But now food isn't good. My daughter's chicken was burnt & inedible & we've always felt like we're intruding when we come in. The bartender tosses menus at you & doesn't check on you & he always looks angry & isn't polite or friendly at all. For the high prices they charge for food, it's unacceptable & they also tack on sodas you didn't order to your bill, so be sure to check that too. This used to be an awesome place for food, but now food isn't worth the price, they treat you like your imposing on them, they're extremely rude, they aren't grateful for your business & it's not somewhere to stop IMO when there's SO many awesome places in the valley that WILL value your business & you as a customer. These are the best burgers in Appleton. They are flavorful and grilled perfectly with a toasted and buttered bun. I was on a mission to find a good burger in this area and must have been to 15 places before settling on this as the favorite. I have consistently had friendly and fast service despite it being a full house and only 2 servers/bartenders. This is the perfect example of a small-town bar where the bartenders know you and the food is made to order and hearty. The drinks are strong and always refilled quickly. Stopped in for dinner with my kids while on a road trip after getting a recommendation for a great local spot from a member of the Front Desk staff at the Cambria Hotel in Appleton, WI. Server was friendly and helpful. We ordered Cheese Curds, Jalapeño Cheese Curds, and the Jalapeño Stuffed Pretzel for appetizers. Really enjoyed the Curds. They were fresh, served with Ranch Dressing and not at all greasy as some are. The pretzel was ok. I ordered the PB&J (yes, Peanut Butter & Grape Jelly) Burger with Bacon and Pepper Jack Cheese (added Jalapeños). My Son ordered the Patty Melt on Marbled Rye. For the last 3 months a doctor friend of mine along with myself have been bouncing around Appleton, Menasha and Neenah areas looking for who serves the best wings in town. We do this every Tuesday. Scuba's Pourhouse has nailed it! Nailed it to the point where we now refuse to go anywhere else. Scuba's Pourhouse has been busy every time we go there. The staff is friendly, also very outgoing and accommodating. The wings are sold by the dozen and they have 9 flavors to choose from. Those flavors range from sweet to down right hot! The biggest plus in my book is that all the wings are flats. If you like the drummy I am not sure you'll get what you are looking for. Another plus is they have steered themselves away from the humdrum taco Tuesdays and went for wing Tuesdays. The beer selection is good as well. They had three IPA's on tap and regular domestics. I did not get a good look at the bottled beer, but at a glance it appeared they had a big selection. If you haven't tried this place for wings, you are missing out. read more

Went there with a group(9 people) for a bday on a Tuesday at 5pm. Place was pretty empty, and not a lot of food orders at the other tables. I ordered a BLT, lightly toasted with mayo on the side. I received a BLT fully toasted, with mayo on it and a side of mayo. 2 people in my party ordered burgers. 1 came out over cooked to the point it tasted like charcoal. A group of us went to Scubas after the Badger game on 10/21. We ordered our drinks inside and asked if we could sit on the patio because it was a nice day out. Our waitress said she would come out and check on us in a little while, she never did. Our group wanted another round so my friend went inside and asked for a server to come out and take our order, to which my friend was told "We won't come out there and serve you." We paid our tab and left to patronize another bar just down the road. Very poor service!
