Oh man. Me and my family were celebrating and decided to goto mtuccis in Rio rancho. We had gone here many times and it's usually good. We decided to take some food to go. I hate to give them a bad review but they give me no choice. I paid $21.00 + tax and tip for the photo below. I challenge you to identify what it is! I sure can't. It appears to be an overly oily mess of broken sauce and pig slop. Maybe it tastes ok. I don't know, it looks so unappetizing I didn't taste it. To be fair. The other food we ordered was good. I have graduated from culinary school and worked in kitchens as a chef. I know how busy and stressful it can be. I've made my fair share of mistakes. However, under no circumstances would I have sent this out to a customer. I won't be going back to mtuccis. They lost a long time customer with this one. Would you eat this? Pros - server was friendly, patient with the kids. Recognized the special event we were there celebrating by comping a dessert. Delicious espresso martini. There was a nice kids menu but we had to ask about it (even after being given crayons and something to color). Cons - the makers mark old fashioned was not balanced, very whiskey forward. Good whiskey, just not a great cocktail. They also slip cacio e pesto into menu items without calling attention to it in the name so if you're reading fast and think youre getting cacio e pepe, be mindful of that. It's subtle and almost deceptive. Plus the chicken milanese burrato would be better served with actual cacio e pepe, in my opinion, not pesto. It was also light on the marinara sauce. It came with probably 1/3 of what it needed for 2 pieces of chicken. All in all, a nice place but I'd take the above into consideration next time I visit and order accordingly. read more

I have been to the other M'Tucci's around town but hadn't yet made it over to this one. I am so glad I did. I had long heard rumors that this was the best location. Not sure if I'd go that far, but it was definitely worth the visit. It's nicely decorated inside and has a bit of a 'fancy restaurant' vibe which was great after a really long week. We went for an early dinner on a Saturday and it wasn't very crowded. The staff was also incredibly friendly and helpful, they offered suggestions and gave us time to think about the menu. I got the mushroom and goat cheese ravioli and it really hit the spot. The pasta was perfectly done and the flavor was delightful. The waitstaff were also very attentive and came by to refill drinks and see how we were doing several times. I wish I was closer to this location so I could go more often! My daughter and I went to M'tucci's on Mother's Day. Our reservation was at 7:30 pm. We were seated somewhat quickly in a room that we could not even hear each other talk. It took at least 15 minutes to get a drink order, and then waited another 15 minutes to order bread. It was still so loud that it was uncomfortable, and we would have left, if we could have gone somewhere else for dinner. Another 15 minutes past before we could put in an order. My daughter received her dinner within about 10 minutes and did not receive all that she ordered. Mine was nowhere to be found. I finally had to find the waitress and ask about my dinner. Of course, it was cold by the time I received it about 10 minutes later. She said she would have it recooked, not microwaved, for chicken Marsala. My daughter still had not received all of her items. I told the waitress that since my daughter was almost done that for her to just give me some warm sauce to put over the dinner. She brought this tiny container which covered nothing. I felt sorry for her. She said she had been there since 2:30 pm and she was slammed with customers. It was still extremely loud and took us forever to refill our beverages. This is the second time I have been there, and both experiences were not pleasant. I did not remark on the first time. We were both extremely disappointed. Her dinner wasn't too bad, and after asking twice, she finally received all that she had ordered. Mine was horrible. It was bland, and nothing like a Chicken Marsala I have had ALL OVER the country; Ohio, Chicago, New York, Colorado, Florida, Arizona, and MANY other cities I have traveled. A whopping 24 oz porterhouse that was cooked to perfection! The Shrimp Campanelle, Herbed Gnocchi and 5 Pork Bolognese Rigatoni also tasted amazing! Looking back at the first time we visited this location, we did the same thing. Sat in the bar area. We visited right before Happy Hour, so we weren't able to take part in. But that's okay because just having a seat in the bar is a good thing! Service was pretty good this time around. We were given menus right away. Friendly service and attentive. A consistently great experience, staff is always great, have not had a bad meal here ever, and if you order the hanger steak (which you absolutely should) they get it cooked right more consistently then the steak houses out here. Waitress was gone quite a bit. If short staffed then explain to patrons but just don't disappear. Removing plates before customers were finished. Food was mediocre at best. Not really true Italian food, just American version of what they think Italian food is. Eggplant parmesan dry, noodles were soggy, Kitchen disjointed appetizers did not come out timely or close to each other, large gap between salads and main course. 5 small pieces of bread for $4? Mussels were soggy and appeared previously frozen, overcharges for build your own pasta, prices not explained. Way overpriced for what it is. Living off the hype. Don't waste your money. The energy's relaxed but lively, and the bar staff is always friendly without being overbearing. It's the kind of place where you feel like a regular, even if it's been a few weeks. The small plates are perfect for sharing. The smoked pizza is a must. It's got that wood-fired flavor with just the right amount of char, and we almost always end up ordering a second one. We've worked our way through most of the happy hour menu, and there hasn't been a miss yet. Our server Matt was great. His timing was on point and we were greeted as soon as we settled in at our table. Matt knew the menu very well and offered suggestions. Our courses came out perfectly and we didn't feel like we were rushed in any way. (Very different experience as compared to our "special" birthday dinner at corn maiden the night before). My whisky smash was delicious and not too sweet just as I requested. We shared the small Spinach salad, 5 pork bolognese and the scaloppine and all items were cooked to perfection. I went for dinner and luckily found a solo seat at the bar. The place and outdoor patio were packed. I love the baked Brie with strawberries, apples, bruschetta, balsamic glaze, and greens. I next had the wonderful made fusilli with lemon sauce and artichokes, mushrooms, and capers. Can never have enough artichokes! Yum! I orders their delicious lemon ricotta cookies to go and are enjoying them now. The prices are reasonable and I will be back soon. Another amazing Italian option right down the hill from our house. Stopped by the Rio Rancho location on Friday and we couldn't even find parking so tried again on a Tuesday night and was WAY less busy. The inside is super inviting! Well decorated and felt like we were walking into a restaurant in Italy! The service was impeccable! We opted to eat in the bar and our server Matt A. was AWESOME! It was our first time so we had lots of questions and he answered every single one, made recommendations and was super helpful, attentive, informative and probably one of our best servers in NM! The food was DELICIOUS! We ordered a bunch of options and every one was hot and fresh. Topped it off with a variety of happy hour and regular drinks as well as dessert and was all delectable! They have an upstairs, a room for private parties, an outdoor patio, dining room and bar area. And they have fresh baked bread and Italian deli goods for takeout. The bread was a little over baked but tasty. We also had their house salad with Parmesan Italian dressing. It was great. I had the pork shank and it was very good. It was very tender and flavorful. My hubby had the pepperoni sausage pizza. My son had the pasta bolognese. Very flavorful and good quality ingredients. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. I asked about gluten free options and she was able to give me some advice. They do offer a GF penne pasta that can be substituted. The pork and fish m Al's are GF as well. We also tried the Crispy Saltwater potatoes they were seasoned perfectly perfect crunch needs a little ketchup to dip not gonna lie. The ruby trout was good a solid 8.0/10 in my opinion it came with sautéed broccolini and mash potatoes it was delicious fish was soft and nice mash potatoes had a confit garlic taste on point. twas very nice and the broccolini is alright. My first experience here was amazing but this time I was disappointed. My husband's pasta was very dry so we had to order an extra side of sauce and they brought us the wrong sauce two times. My fish was good but I was hoping the mashed potatoes would be smoother than they were. they were really thick and dry. I actually found a hair under my broccolini and fish so I sent it back. I just don't get it. Been here a couple times and it is hit or miss. We ordered catering a couple of months ago and that was nightmare. They sent someone to the house with some "extra" food. The guy was super nice and apologized. We said we would never use catering from them again. The asparagus was under cooked and rough. We had a gift certificate so we decided to come in tonight for a date night. They said it was a 55 minute wait, that was fine. An hour and fifteen minutes later we were sat at the bar. Super annoyed by this point, but didn't want to take out on the waiter. Who was great by the way. Looked over the 4 pages of cocktails and no tbh big sounded good. Menu was ok. I just don't get how everyone likes this place. Husband got chicken Marsala, he thought the chicken was over cooked and green beans were under cooked. Mashed potatoes were really good however. I got a pizza which I felt was totally lacking in flavor. I'll take it home and add garlic, onion powder, some thyme and oregano. After a bad catering and a mediocre dinner. We're done. Visited just the bar on Saturday night, November 26, 2022, with my wife. I met a friendly man at the end of the bar named Floyd. He asked me for $1 to tie a dollar bill bowtie (see attached photo). This marvelous man, who is 85 years young, told me he usually visits the bar on Fridays and has a single beer (an IPA). All the staff know him, and I got lucky to encounter him on a Saturday night. He told me a few stories about his past and told me he walks five miles every day except Sunday. I felt blessed to meet him and if you visit M'tucci's on a Friday night, say hi to Floyd. He'll be at the end of the bar. We decided to just order cocktails and an appetizer before our date at the nearby Pho Garden. Wife opted for the Lemon Merengue martini ($9) while I had the gin Nikle Collins ($9). Nikle is a New Mexico made gin with no additives and no sugar from a female owned distiller. My Collins contained the aforementioned gin, rotating herb infused cane syrup, lemon juice and club soda. My drink had citrus and lavender notes with an effervescence that tasted smooth and refreshing. My wife has drunk the Merengue martini a few times and always loves it. We also ordered from the bar menu. The Italian sausage queso ($7). This was a creamy cheese dip infused with house Italian sausage and green Chile. They provide small house baguettes and pita bread triangles for dipping. The spicy sausage and creamy cheese paired wonderfully with the bread. You can't go wrong at M'tucci's no matter what you order. We had a wonderful time here with great staff, friendly customers, refreshing cocktails and awesome appetizers. read more

M'Tucci's's Moderno is a restaurant and local chain we frequent! This past Saturday we went to celebrate my husband's birthday! We had reservations at 4:30pm and I'm so glad we did as there were many tables already full and by the time we left it was almost completely full. We had a lovely waitress and got served our drinks and salads quite quickly. My husband and I each had a small spinach salad which was tasty! We usually do the mista but decided on a switch. My mother in law had her favorite- eggplant parmigiana and loved it like always, thoroughly looking forward to a couple of days of leftovers! My husband had the hanger steak which was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. I had the artichoke pesto ravioli! They make the ravioli in house and the pesto cream sauce was to die for! So good! For dessert the birthday boy got a sparkler and tiramisu and my mother in law also got tiramisu. I got the house made dark chocolate gelato and it was so good I bought a pint to take home.
