I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed in the food last night. But the service was great! Our server was personable and attentive. Now to the food review...I ordered the chicken Marsala. Flavoring of the sauce was nice and light but the chicken breasts were drier than dry! When I cut it with my knife the pieces kept shredding. The broccolini was overpowered by the sun-dried tomatoes. For me personally, it was too acidic. The mashed potatoes had the consistency of glue! We haven't been in a while and had brought some friends who had never been. They liked their vegetarian pasta with the artichoke hearts and lemon sauce. I told them I was originally going to order that and they said to order it next time! My other half had the sausage raviolini which he said the pasta was too al dente. I hope that maybe it was just an off night for the kitchen. Open air, great evening setting. This location was a fun evening with tasty food. The service was prompt even with a full house. The establishment was clean with seating already clear as we walked in. The bar side of the restaurant was active and jovial. No unoccupied settings were viewed to be left for too long. The wait staff were very courteous and quick to have us seated and take drink orders. As soon as drinks arrived, the food order was taken. We started off with an order of Roasted Apple Caesar salad and the house bread. The flavor pairing was a pleasant surprise between the apple and the salad. The bread was tasty, the dipping oil was a robust flavor. The main courses we chose were Lobster + Crab Cannelloni and the Sausage Tortelloni. I am a regular and the staff are always amazing. It's a place where you can feel comfortable going alone or with friends. I always boast about the food but I have to admit the last two times I've went the flavor was lacking and the sauces have been watery which has been disappointing because when I crave pasta this is my go to place for the rich savory dishes. I have been to the other M'Tucci's around town but hadn't yet made it over to this one. I am so glad I did. I had long heard rumors that this was the best location. Not sure if I'd go that far, but it was definitely worth the visit. It's nicely decorated inside and has a bit of a 'fancy restaurant' vibe which was great after a really long week. We went for an early dinner on a Saturday and it wasn't very crowded. The staff was also incredibly friendly and helpful, they offered suggestions and gave us time to think about the menu. I got the mushroom and goat cheese ravioli and it really hit the spot. The pasta was perfectly done and the flavor was delightful. The waitstaff were also very attentive and came by to refill drinks and see how we were doing several times. I wish I was closer to this location so I could go more often! Even though they were quite busy service was still great! Our server was attentive and since we were celebrating a birthday our server even brought out sparklers with desserts! Oh man. Me and my family were celebrating and decided to goto mtuccis in Rio rancho. We had gone here many times and it's usually good. We decided to take some food to go. I hate to give them a bad review but they give me no choice. I paid $21.00 + tax and tip for the photo below. I challenge you to identify what it is! I sure can't. It appears to be an overly oily mess of broken sauce and pig slop. Maybe it tastes ok. I don't know, it looks so unappetizing I didn't taste it. To be fair. The other food we ordered was good. I have graduated from culinary school and worked in kitchens as a chef. I know how busy and stressful it can be. I've made my fair share of mistakes. Looking back at the first time we visited this location, we did the same thing. Sat in the bar area. We visited right before Happy Hour, so we weren't able to take part in. But that's okay because just having a seat in the bar is a good thing! Service was pretty good this time around. We were given menus right away. Friendly service and attentive. Decided to try the fried brie (so amazingly delicious!) and that margarita pizza (just as flavorful!) Topped it off with an espresso martini Loved it all!! Restaurant on two things - thier margaritas and the calamari!! Needless to saw both lasted less then 5 minutes!!! We all had a different meal, none of them disappointed!!! Put it this way.... Pros - server was friendly, patient with the kids. Recognized the special event we were there celebrating by comping a dessert. Delicious espresso martini. There was a nice kids menu but we had to ask about it (even after being given crayons and something to color). Cons - the makers mark old fashioned was not balanced, very whiskey forward. Good whiskey, just not a great cocktail. They also slip cacio e pesto into menu items without calling attention to it in the name so if you're reading fast and think youre getting cacio e pepe, be mindful of that. It's subtle and almost deceptive. Plus the chicken milanese burrato would be better served with actual cacio e pepe, in my opinion, not pesto. It was also light on the marinara sauce. It came with probably 1/3 of what it needed for 2 pieces of chicken. All in all, a nice place but I'd take the above into consideration next time I visit and order accordingly. read more

Do not go here if you have any food allergies. Upon arrival I asked the waiter to check with the kitchen if they had any dairy free dressings, I was told they had one. I then asked if the veggies were grilled in oil or butter. He told me oil. Great. I'll have the veggie salad! With the dairy free dressing, and no cheese. And before sending our order to the kitchen staff I repeated "please no dairy! I don't want to get sick". Pretty sad I trust the kitchen staff at Taco Bell over the staff at M'tucci's. My meal came out and about 5 bites into it my stomach started cramping and aching. I called the waiter over and asked if there was dairy in the dressing. He assured me it wasn't. I poked around a bit more and realized it was a creamy vinaigrette with Parmesan. They remade my salad (it came out long after my friend was done eating), I asked for it to be boxed up and I can't believe I was charged full price. I had to cancel my plans for the rest of the day and now over 24 hours later I'm still paying for their lack of understanding. I'll never eat there again. Over priced and their page says they have vegan options, they do not. And they will not cater to your allergies read more

I'd had lunch there last week and was impressed, so I took my husband for our anniversary dinner. It was over $100 for an unsuccessful meal! I ordered a peach tea...it is just a bottled soda with less than 2% tea. We had Grilled Veggie Polenta + Goat Cheese for the appetizer, the polenta was supposed to be creamy but instead it was more like dry, crumbly cornbread. My husband had the Herb Marinated Chicken, which he said was ok, but was served with mashed potatoes we could have made at home, and the broccolini over chopped and unseasoned. I ordered the Harris Ranch Hanger Steak, medium, but it was still bleeding when I cut into it! What was worse was it tasted of plastic, and had substituted polenta which again was dry and crumbly. It took 8 minutes to be able to catch a writer's attention to get a replacement. I had them trade it for a bowl of spaghetti with meatballs, which wasn't even as tasty as the one at Dennys. No one from management ever came to discuss the steak or the replacement. We ordered the Lemon Chantilly Cake for dessert, and it was fabulous. We said we'd contemplate going back just for a slice of cake. The waiter saw my husband was done with his cake, so he came over and started clearing the table of any empty plates and glasses, including water glasses. I was still eating my cake! When the bill came they had charged us for both the hanger steak and the spaghetti! I had to bring it to the waiter's attention, and he seemed put out that I didn't want to pay for a dish I didn't eat. He finally went and had it taken off. When we were leaving he mentioned he was new on the job, so I advised him to not clear the table before everyone is done eating, to which he said this was how management wants it done. My daughter and I went to M'tucci's on Mother's Day. Our reservation was at 7:30 pm. We were seated somewhat quickly in a room that we could not even hear each other talk. It took at least 15 minutes to get a drink order, and then waited another 15 minutes to order bread. It was still so loud that it was uncomfortable, and we would have left, if we could have gone somewhere else for dinner. Another 15 minutes past before we could put in an order. My daughter received her dinner within about 10 minutes and did not receive all that she ordered. Mine was nowhere to be found. I finally had to find the waitress and ask about my dinner. Of course, it was cold by the time I received it about 10 minutes later. She said she would have it recooked, not microwaved, for chicken Marsala. My daughter still had not received all of her items. I told the waitress that since my daughter was almost done that for her to just give me some warm sauce to put over the dinner. She brought this tiny container which covered nothing. I felt sorry for her. She said she had been there since 2:30 pm and she was slammed with customers. It was still extremely loud and took us forever to refill our beverages. This is the second time I have been there, and both experiences were not pleasant. I did not remark on the first time. We were both extremely disappointed. Her dinner wasn't too bad, and after asking twice, she finally received all that she had ordered. Mine was horrible. It was bland, and nothing like a Chicken Marsala I have had ALL OVER the country; Ohio, Chicago, New York, Colorado, Florida, Arizona, and MANY other cities I have traveled. Our food portions were very small and not worth the price. Spaghetti and meatball dish was bland. Eggplant was very salty. The energy's relaxed but lively, and the bar staff is always friendly without being overbearing. It's the kind of place where you feel like a regular, even if it's been a few weeks. The small plates are perfect for sharing. The smoked pizza is a must. It's got that wood-fired flavor with just the right amount of char, and we almost always end up ordering a second one. We've worked our way through most of the happy hour menu, and there hasn't been a miss yet. Stopped by the Rio Rancho location on Friday and we couldn't even find parking so tried again on a Tuesday night and was WAY less busy. The inside is super inviting! Well decorated and felt like we were walking into a restaurant in Italy! The service was impeccable! We opted to eat in the bar and our server Matt A. was AWESOME! It was our first time so we had lots of questions and he answered every single one, made recommendations and was super helpful, attentive, informative and probably one of our best servers in NM! The food was DELICIOUS! We ordered a bunch of options and every one was hot and fresh. Topped it off with a variety of happy hour and regular drinks as well as dessert and was all delectable! They have an upstairs, a room for private parties, an outdoor patio, dining room and bar area. And they have fresh baked bread and Italian deli goods for takeout. Our server Matt was great. His timing was on point and we were greeted as soon as we settled in at our table. Matt knew the menu very well and offered suggestions. Our courses came out perfectly and we didn't feel like we were rushed in any way. (Very different experience as compared to our "special" birthday dinner at corn maiden the night before). My whisky smash was delicious and not too sweet just as I requested. We shared the small Spinach salad, 5 pork bolognese and the scaloppine and all items were cooked to perfection. The portions are very good size and we had leftovers to bring home with us. Ive been visiting this area for 3 weeks now and I will easily say that this has been my favorite meal in New Mexico so far. A consistently great experience, staff is always great, have not had a bad meal here ever, and if you order the hanger steak (which you absolutely should) they get it cooked right more consistently then the steak houses out here. Waitress was gone quite a bit. If short staffed then explain to patrons but just don't disappear. Removing plates before customers were finished. Food was mediocre at best. Not really true Italian food, just American version of what they think Italian food is. Eggplant parmesan dry, noodles were soggy, Kitchen disjointed appetizers did not come out timely or close to each other, large gap between salads and main course. 5 small pieces of bread for $4? Mussels were soggy and appeared previously frozen, overcharges for build your own pasta, prices not explained. Way overpriced for what it is. Living off the hype. Don't waste your money. I went for dinner and luckily found a solo seat at the bar. The place and outdoor patio were packed. I love the baked Brie with strawberries, apples, bruschetta, balsamic glaze, and greens. I next had the wonderful made fusilli with lemon sauce and artichokes, mushrooms, and capers. Can never have enough artichokes! Yum! I orders their delicious lemon ricotta cookies to go and are enjoying them now. The prices are reasonable and I will be back soon. Had a great early dinner. We were driving on the west side and decided to try Mtucci Moderno. We started with the crab artichoke dip. It was very flavorful. The bread was a little over baked but tasty. We also had their house salad with Parmesan Italian dressing. It was great. I had the pork shank and it was very good. It was very tender and flavorful. My hubby had the pepperoni sausage pizza. My son had the pasta bolognese. Very flavorful and good quality ingredients. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. I asked about gluten free options and she was able to give me some advice. They do offer a GF penne pasta that can be substituted. The pork and fish m Al's are GF as well. Very clean and traditional Italian style decor. I enjoyed the environment. The music was not too loud. So we were able to have a conversation. read more

I haven't found that "go-to" menu item here yet. In the handful of times we've eaten here, I can say the atmosphere is almost great and the wait staff is fantastic when attending to customers.
