Well, today they were open when they were supposed to be, and we had a nice late lunch as the Happy Hour crowd began rolling in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was very nice - the remodel from the former place was quite tasteful and the chill music gave a great vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was on-it and fast. The food was tasty and seemed a good value for the fare.

This place has been on my to check out list for a while and I'm so glad I finally did. It does seem like it's best if you make a reservation, but I came with a friend on a weekday evening and ended up sending at the bar. The drinks were really good and I was very impressed with the food. My espresso martini was absolutely what I've been needing and the gyro with fries was very tasty.

One of my favorite restaurants in albuquerque. The service is always great and the food is even better! Our favorite is the caviar fries and the clams. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dim lighting is perfect for a cozy date night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Ribeye I ordered was undercooked and very thin for the price. Wife ordered the 10oz filet which was over seasoned. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was super loud on a Friday night, definitely not a great place for date, can't barely hear anyone at the table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was slow which I can understand on a busy Friday night but our waitress didn't have any personality and didn't even check on us after $188 check before tips.

Dorothea is beautiful inside. We were really excited to eat here. But we struggled with the food/service. There was very under cooked (uncooked) food that we asked if they would cook. The sever did not seem pleased. It's so embarrassing to ask a restaurant to cook your food. That kind of set the tone for the night. None of us really wanted to eat after that. I'm sure it was just an off night. Like I said it's a beautiful space.

Favorite date night spot! If you haven't tried the food and cocktails at Dorothea you are missing out on an experience! We loved the duck confit tacos that are served on slices of jicama. The Grilled artichokes with Meyer lemon aioli were smokey, zesty and earthy. The lamb lollipops were perfectly seared and well seasoned, juicy in every bite. The traditional Greek salad topped with delicious feta was a great addition to the meal. My Husband raved about his pork chop and broccolini. Every morsel was gone. Our server Mikie was attentive, super knowledge and fun! The drinks, made with house made syrups and brines, are absolutely to die for! Our favorites so far are the espresso martini and Dorothea (dirty) martini. Yes, this place is a GEM and the food and drinks take time for a very good reason.

I finally went back to try the gyro again ...it was PERFECT!! Thank you for changing the meat; it was delicious, and not dry. The fries were hot and crispy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the addition of a real candle on the table too![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Okay so if you know me, than you know how I roll........ SEXYFOOD baby! The upgraded interior to the exterior and the food quality is off the charts and yes, I have dined on many occasions with their new clean, fresh & fine quality that they are putting out of here is phenomenal and there is only a a small handful of restaurants that meet my standards and Dorothea is my top 3 in the Q where I will only dine at..... and that's a fact Service is always excellent from Daniel and staff. Thank you Nicole and staff for elevating the dining experience here in the Q. See you soon. Ciao

New spot we decided to try for dinner! It was very good, did not have reservations so they could not sit us in the main area, but we were able to sit in the bar area. The main dining room is very nice and modern but quite small with not many tables, so if you have a preference make sure to make reservations ahead of time! As far as the food goes everything was great! Food came out quickly, for appetizers we got the Duck tacos and the lobster mac and cheese. Both so good. The duck tacos are a mix of savory with a fresh twist from the jicama. The mac and cheese was very cheesy which we love. For entrees we got the gyro and the lamb shank. The gyro was great and served with french fries which were seasoned very well. The lamb shank was also great, the only thing was that it did not have enough of the sauce. I asked for more and it was brought out quickly without issues. The service was great!

Service, environment and people were great! Had a great table near the bar for a large party. Can't wait to go back.

They have some retro club music going, but no DJ. When we left about an hour later a DJ hadn't steppe dup, but the music was pretty good all the same. We had to wait for our 1st drink for a while. The gal at the front said the DJ has stepped away for a while but would be back soon enough. The drinks were ok, the service was so-so. Upon entering, I was delighted by the marvelous decor and ambiance... terrific artwork and well appointed with tropics-themed cane furnishings. Very romantic and chic. Also, very dark. The lighting was so dim we had to illuminate the menu with the ol phone flashlight. How glamorous! Well, it was also nearly too dim to eat by. Admittedly, middle aged eyes are less keen than youthful ones, and yet... truly, I will go back in daylight hours next time, when the gorgeous skylights can compensate for the scanty lighting. The server was prompt and perfectly modest in zeal and conversation. He saw to it that we received our order in appropriate time. Now, this is a tequila and mescal place, but I ordered from the specialty Michelada list, a cucumber lime version that sounded divine. I do love a Michelada, but sadly, this one was so abundantly salted that I couldn't finish it. (And I'll finish most beverages.) Very big disappointment. I'm sure any number of drinks on the menu are fabulous, but I can't recommend this one. I ordered the tuna tostada, and my husband got the birra nachos. The tostada had fresh tomatoes and cilantro, and the fish was very good and fresh (poke style). The seasoning left something to be desired, though. It was spicy enough, but I do wish there'd been salt and pepper shakers on the table. My guacamole-averse husband gave me the spoonful from his nachos, so that livened it up. As for the nachos, he seemed to approve. It was mostly cheese and meat (minus the spoonful of guac), but he said more ample tomatoes and jalapeños would have overpowered it anyway. I'd describe my food as that sort of high-society modest flavor - minimalist seasonings in favor of purist flavor from the base ingredients. Indeed not comfort food, but great for a lighter mouth and tummy feel. All in all, the flavor experience was so-so. However, the atmosphere is super solid. For that, I'd go back and try something new. During daylight hours, that is.

The second was definitely more my preference because it was fruity and sweet but also had some smokiness from the Mezcal. The nachos were absolutely amazing. I will be back for those alone. We tried the Al Pastor and seriously they were the best nachos I've had in a long time. I do wish they would expand their cocktail menu just a little bit.
