Let me start by saying I USED to come here a lot. I must admit as well, that was a long time ago. I imagined that I could expect the food to be just as good as I remembered it, but it wasn't. Made a visit back recently with some friends on one of our girls nights out to catch up. The visit was great, and I am glad that we get a chance to get together every month or two. Just not sure we'll pick O'hares again. I ordered a cup of the french onion soup and the sliders from appetizer menu. The french onion soup was good, I can say that. The sliders is a different story. They came with six sliders. That was literally it. Meat and bread. Nothing else. No cheese, no garnish, not even sliced pickles. That alone was $17! I was shocked when I saw the bill! You can typically order a burger with all the fixings and fries for that price or less. Our service was fair. Our server was nice enough and checked in on us. But the food was very underwhelming. I wouldn't recommend them, but you could may have a better experience than me. Just don't order the sliders! Then, to top it off, after ordering dessert, we are chit chatting and finishing our drinks. We slowly start to notice that the servers were grabbing their purses and heading to the front. Apparently they had been closed for almost 30 minutes but no one came to inform us that they were closed for the night! LOL! Silly place. read more

I used to eat here on a regular basis. But that was probably 15 or 20 years ago. I went back because I remembered what it used to be like. It has changed obviously over the years. I got a salad and it was OK but very expensive. Looked at the menu and didn't really see anything that looked bad but didn't see anything that really jumped out. Overall, I felt like the place was clean and the service was good. Everybody was nice. I just felt like the food was average and overpriced. There are too many options for me to want to return here. O'Hare's has been a local pub in Rio Rancho for many years. I have had many, many meals here over the years. The food is always fresh made and very good. Large portions...you get your money's worth here. The atmosphere is your local corner pub/sports bar...quaint and welcoming. Well worth taking the to cone eat here. Met a friend for lunch right at opening and we wound up jabbering for about three hours. And the servers left us alone (filling up my iced tea on request). O'Hares Grille & Pub is a clean establishment - on the classier side for a public house. Quite a selection of alcoholic bevs for anyone wanting a tipple. An older, polite crowd was in evidence at lunch. The menu is not insanely large, but it has enough choice to make almost anyone happy. Food came out promptly. My pastrami (with added green chile) sandwich was tasty and the side salad was just fine. The food was good (even at the slightly warm price), but that alone was not enough reason to drive across town. But O'Hare's was a solidly good place to meet a friend for lunch! And, looking around the lunchtime crowd - I saw that almost every group was doing just that. Good one to know about! read more

Surprised by the Fish and Chips , 2 -3oz fillets lightly breaded ( nice and light ) served with homemade coleslaw , steak fries ( a bit heavy on steak fries and light on COD but worthy of a nice nod ..‍ ALEC the bartender made the experience extra special ( a very humble guy ) that really is the glue for the FOH . No interaction from BOH , just a yell from kitchen to hostess ( order bacon ) Ha ha .. I suggested they 86 they guy but found out it was JASON the owner .. a wiery hard worker , accepting grocery deliveries, doing prep and managing the place Kitchen .. hats off Jason ( try a little tenderness ) overall the small 100 seat spot gets my thumbs u and I will be back !! read more

But they don't even eat there. It's a huge place and lots of seating. So it gets busy for the locals. read more

Great Irish pub in Rio Rancho. Have been here several times and the quality of food and service is always great. Great alcohol selection although it seems that depending on the bartender the way drinks are made differ. The food though is great ,averages to about 80 bucks for a family of 4 so maybe a little pricey. Will continue to bring my business here!! read more

My husband and I went to dinner at this establishment after not having been there in over 10 years. Since we are local, we thought we would give it another try. First of all the drinks; I ordered a vodka tonic, and it was very weak, husband had a 25 ounce cold beer. Husband ordered the fish plate special, which included two crab cakes, one piece of fried cod, and two fried shrimp. Unfortunately, it was soggy and unappetizing, which set the tone for the meal and date night. I ordered a hamburger. While the meat itself was good, the side salad was disappointing--it was clearly a pre-packaged spring mix, with some pieces wilted with most slimy and brown. I didn't touch it in fear of getting sick. I was watching plates go by and the salads all had that wilted bagged spring mix. I truly hope the owners see this feedback and take steps toward stronger quality control. We love supporting local businesses and want to see them succeed, but food leaving the kitchen should reflect care and freshness. Best of luck moving forward. read more

This place is amazing. The food menu looks so good. They have made changes to outside so you can sit under the porch on a good day. The food is really good and the staff is amazing! What's this? A late report on St. Patrick's Day, once again at O'Hare's Grille & Pub in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. We really enjoy going every year to drink a Harp Beer and have the best Corned Beef and Cabbage in the area. Great food, and fast service as long as you get there early. Delicious food! Attentive service. Salad was freshly made with crisp vegetables and a few water crackers. My partner's steak was cooked exactly right, and the loaded mashed potatoes and side vegetables were tasty. $9.88 for a pint of Guinness! We also ordered the cheesecake for dessert, and it was served with a generous drizzle of chocolate sauce. Altogether a lovely dinner. read more

My hubby and I were up in Rio Rancho for a soccer game. So we decided to try O'Hares. We had been here once before a year or more ago. We live 40+ miles away so don't get up here often. We came at 4ish on Sunday so there was a light crowd. By the time we were done eating the dining room was much fuller. The restaurant and bathroom were clean. The waitress was friendly but a little slow to get our order. After the slow start she was more attentive We started with the Wee pot of gold fried zucchini. It was very good. The zucchini was done well with a light bread with a hint of spice. I had the sirloin steak and my hubby had the slow roasted pork. Both were very good and lots of flavor. Took my mom to lunch, and it was so good! Walked in and greeted (always) with a hello and how are you. Our sever Miquelle was just the best. She was so nice and kept our glasses full. I had the fish and chips, and it was perfectly cooked with a great crunch and my mom had the reuben, and that sandwich was stacked high! Great experience, great food, and great service! I recently tried the Sesamie shrimp dinner, everything about it was wonderful. The Shrimp was flavorless dipping sauce complemented the flavor of the shrimp. My wife and I have eaten here several times in the past couple of years and found it to pretty good, but our visit tonight will most likely be our last. As a base to be considered, it was an average dinner hour (6:30ish) with perhaps 10 other tables occupied. To start off the waitress had to be one of the worst I've ever encountered, and we had to wait nearly 30 minutes to get our drinks after ordering them. The food we ordered (each of ours) arrived cold and both over and under-cooked depending on the individual item. The waitress couldn't have cared less. read more

O'Hare's is a Rio Rancho staple in the community and has been here since I can remember (I'm nearing 40 and moved to Rio Rancho in 2nd grade). The food has always been fairly consistent; they have great drinks and quality servers. Food always comes out quickly, is enjoyable, and it is a great place to take family, friends, or anything in between. We last came here with my little one and family after an event at his school; we were sat quickly, got appetizers out fast, and had cold drinks. I am always surprised that they haven't moved buildings with everything that has happened in the shopping center they are located in. I hope they stay for many years to come. read more

Calamari order was super tiny and over cooked and fish and chips was embarrassing- frozen Van d Camp is better. Hope they figure things out quick or they won't stay in business. The Shepard's Pie was tasteless and chunks of meat instead of ground. Not a pie but a stew went wrong. I actually put it in the trash.

Celebrated St Patrick's Day at O'Hare's. They opened early which was good at 10:00 by the time we got out around 11:00 it was really getting crowded there. The food was good but not outstanding. I had the classic corned beef and cabbage. The corned beef wasn't too salty and was very tender and delicious. My sister and my girlfriend had shepherd's pie but their complaint was it was very soupy and not enough potatoes on the top. I had chocolate whiskey cake for dessert which was phenomenal! Great ambiance decorated for St. Patrick's Day. Our server Lizzy was outstanding! Very attentive and friendly. My biggest complaint was I thought it was too expensive . I also had a Irish margarita so that makes the cost more but I spent a lot more money than I expected to spend for lunch. The corned beef and cabbage was $17 a plate which I think was too pricey. I wasn't impressed enough to say that I will ever be going back. read more

Overpriced and unimpressive. We, my wife, her mom, and I, went on a Friday night and the restaurant was moderately busy. The waitress was friendly and very good at her job. She was quick with refills and made sure we got everything we ordered. There were many employees working and that allowed the servers to be more attentive to their tables. The food however was disappointing. To begin with, the prices were excessive for what we received. My mother in law ordered a side of coleslaw that came in a small bowl at a price of $6. I ordered chicken parmigiana and it cost $21. The entire meal, for three people, came in at $84.00 with tip. By the way, it's more expensive to use your credit card than cash. I'm sure that's to offset the charges imposed by the credit card companies but, at the prices they charge, you would think they could afford to pay that without passing it on to their customers. The menu also had meals that ran over $30. The issue with the price was that it was not commiserate with the the quality of the food. My wife and mother in law both ordered sandwiches and they were of a good size, but a lot of a bad thing is still a bad thing. My meal was also large but, again, not worth the price. I realize that ordering a pasta meal from a pub that plays up the Irish culture but, if they don't do it well, then they probably shouldn't offer it. We all agreed that our food was subpar and not worth the cost. I don't believe that we will return to this restaurant. There are many other places in town with better food at lower prices. All stars are for the service and nothing else. read more

We decided to dine here for the first time after living in Rio Rancho for 6 years, and now I know why. We had a very negative experience, unfortunately. We were a group of 6, we were seated at about 7pm and placed our orders around 7:15. In the meantime we ordered some drinks, one of which I had to ask them to redo because I had ordered my old fashioned to be less sweet, but it still was too sweet for me. When it was brought back it was reduced to about half the portion I had sent back (I had only had 2 sips because it was to sweet obvi) All of our orders came out at about 8:17pm - over an hour waiting. We had even asked about 8pm if everything was ok, they said they were short staffed and that our order would be coming out after the next one. We watched two more tables get served before we finally got ours. One couple at our table, of course the hungriest, had asked for the sour cream on their nachos to be on the side. The nachos were brought out covered with sour cream, so they had to wait another 15 minutes for their nachos to be redone. When they finally received their nachos, one of them later asked for an extra portion of the sour cream on the side (she could eat it while he could not). When the bill came they were charged for the extra cream and salsa with nothing to indicate remorse for the mistake or slow service (none of us did for that matter.) Our waitress was very friendly to start with, but by the end of the night I'm sure she sensed our discontent as she started to become very short with us herself. We realized it is not her fault, but the lack of overall customer service is disconcerting. The food itself was pretty decent, really no complaints there. The restaurant just needs to address their customer service issues. read more

There is plenty of level parking. The outside of the building is clean. The have a nice patio and they have outdoor heaters. Inside the have a nice bar, well stocked. The decor is comfortable, the west wall features artist work that is for sale. We were seated and given menus. Our waitress arrived and took our drink order 2 iced teas, one Dr. Pepper and a glass of water no ice. She returned promptly with our drinks and took our food order. We ordered an open faced Reuben Sandwich with coleslaw, a beef French Dip with coleslaw, two beef French Dips with fries and waffle cut fries. The cornbeef was good, the rye was marbled and sweet, my husband didn't care for, the coleslaw was crispy and had a good flavor. The beef in the French Dips were good, the roll was toasted nicely. The french fries and waffles were good. Our waitress was attentive, and knowledgeable. When we were almost done our waitress asked us if we wanted dessert, we declined. What a huge disappointment this place was last Saturday, the 13th. It seemed there was no manager, at least not one who is an adult on duty, drinks were horrible and the food was an equally as bad. We ordered a patty melt and were asked if medium was ok. It couldn't have been more well done and the toast was burnt. Plating was a joke, no mayo, mustard or any other condiments to try to mask what was brought out. And I'm sorry, but that is not a Rum Cake so stop calling it that. It was just a disappointment because it has always been so good. Then, out if all the TV's, the football game was on the smallest one they had. We don't think we'll be going back. read more
