Diz Place Rox - I go at least weekly. Hard to find, but oh, so worth it....the sangwiches are so good and I find the staff engaging and always friendly. I especially like that little blonde fox - I think she's dating the owner. Some say their sandwiches are pricey, but I disagree. I like the lunch special with a sammie, chips and a drink. It is constantly busy, but the kitchen nows how to move the food. They have an efficient system for leaving lunch orders and by the time I show up, I cut the line and I'm down the road with a happy belly full of love. Their soups are amazing. Been coming to Mucho for as long as they have been open (25+ years). It's been consistent great, save for one or two times I've been disappointed. Mucho Turkey Plus, the Grinder (hot), NM BLT, Egg Salad, and the sherry cake are all time favorites! This is probably my favorite sandwich shop in town. It's inexpensive, caters to a good clientel, and they've got ridiculously great sandwiches. The last BLT I got there had like half a pig's worth of bacon... I think I gained 5 pounds! And where else are employees this happy? So far so damn good! This sandwich shop does not disappoint in the least. As a Santa Fe native it is nice to have a place that serves great food without having to head to the plaza and without having to pay Santa Fe prices. So far I've had The Grinder, the BLT, the Santa Fe Cheese Steak (cubed steak, not sliced and actual spicy green chile) and even a kid's grilled cheese (I ate 1/2 my son's sammy). I have a pretty big appetite so when I first went to Mucho I was hoping for a bigger sandwich. The thing is, they don't overfill or overdo it. All their items are the perfect amount of food to fill you up and get you wanting more. Plus, each sandwich comes with a cookie to appease the post-meal sweet tooth. As I already mentioned, this place is for everyone, the masses, tourists and people passing through, but their steady clientele are locals so they know that they have to keep doing to the food right. I had my doubts about this sandwich shop, man was I wrong! They had a huge variety to choose from, and from the line they must all be good. All the sandwiches come in a bag which they mark your order on. I went for lunch and saw a line out the door after I ordered so the locals enjoy it, several were local employee's picking up multiple sandwich orders, that should be all you need to prove it is good. read more

I called in an order for one sandwich well before noon. There were three people ahead of me in the line to the far left. They all got there orders and walked out. The owner lady asked me if I had a call in order, I told her yes, and gave her my name. She proceeded to tell me to go the the line to the far right, because she was "really busy", or some such BS. That line was 10 or 12 people deep and out the door. Needless to say, I kept on walking. I've been going there pretty much since they opened including several large office orders. Great sandwiches, but if you don't call ahead and pick up your order be ready to wait. Delivery times are regularly over 90 minutes... and you have to pay a $3 delivery fee (+ the tip). That's around $10 per sandwich after tipping the incredibly slow drivers. I have had delivery drivers take almost 2 hours to go less than 2 miles for a $6 prepaid tip. It wasn't a one time thing either... it's just how they operate. Delivery always means cold sandwiches no matter what you order. If you want food delivered in Santa Fe you need to call somebody else. Pick up = good. Delivery = awful. read more

There is nothing wrong about this place unless it bothers you that it closes at 3:00, and doesn't have a drive thru window. They have redefined "sandwich" - the New Mexico BLT with green chile is crazy good as is the grinder. They're all good. The place is packed but you can order ahead and they deliver too. Nice owners and they all bust their tails getting orders filled quickly while still being friendly and not rushing anyone. You could try a different hot or cold sandwich off the menu every day and never get bored or be disappointed. Good salads too. read more

Great sandwiches that don't skimp on quantity or quality of ingredients! Quick service and if you need delivery, they are on it. Busy at lunch, so factor that in if you go at peak times. My only complaint is that I wish they had longer hours - they are only open essentially for lunchtime, but I find myself wishing I could get a dinner fix now and then. read more

Seriously? 4 and 5 stars Santa Fe. That was one of the most basic sandwiches I have ever had. (Not fresh baked bread) I could make a better one at home. And the salad was awful, seemed like a prepackaged one. Will not be returning. This place is great for lunch if you are craving sandwiches. The egg salad supreme is a tangy egg salad, on soft wheat bread with the eggs diced in a larger cut than most deli egg salad (a good thing in my book), fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and has two strips of bacon. The salty, smokey flavor of the bacon really complements the egg salad. Delicious. The Southwestern grilled cheese is a tasty treat, with green chiles smothered by gooey cheddar. They have so many items to chose from, and all I've had are delicious. I need to try more, but the egg salad is so good I keep going back to it. Many people like the turkey surprise, Thanksgiving between slices of bread. It was a little too much going on for me, but not necessarily a bad experience. There's not too many sandwich shops in Santa Fe, hence some of the rave reviews. Walking in, the place looks and feels promising. The prices are high ($8-$10) for just a sandwich- no side or drink. Willing to pay that if the portions and quality are sufficient. Unfortunately, both were a let down. I told the cashier I was hungry and needed a large sandwich. Looking bored, she coldly recommended the club sandwich. "Fine" I said and ordered chips. $11 bucks and some change. When it was ready, the sandwich looked really underwhelming. Best way to describe it is something you could throw together at home in a few minutes. Other reviews stated the same thing : store bought bread, basic cheese and meat... That's it. The portion size was small...really small. So disappointing. My friend who wasn't eating said "wow that sandwich looks lame." It was. Some people get excited on here about the "free" cookie. First of all, it's a chips-a-hoy cookie. They suck. Second, you're paying 9 bucks for a crappy sandwich. That cookie better be free. I wish this place would do something special like bake there own bread, large portions, fresh baked cookies....something. Sadly, it's just cheap, store-bought sandwich stuff thrown together. I made sure to eat my sandwich before writing this review. It was perfectly delicious. Mucho Turkey Plus, fresh and flavorful ingredients as usual. I was going to give only 3 stars though because the service is really disappointing, however, the sandwich saved the day. I tried calling several times before finally driving over to make sure they weren't closed, because that's happened before where the phone just rang and no message or anything. Today it rang or was busy, so I'm convinced they screen their calls. So anyway I waited in a line to the door for ten minutes and about another fifteen minutes for my sandwich. The girls at the register aren't the slightest bit friendly unless you're a regular. I get that they are busy and have loyal customers and one review won't change anything, but I know I'm not the only one who notices the bad customer service. I hope this improves because I really do love their sandwiches but can't stand rude and grumpy people handling my food. read more

Terrible experience with muchos today. First off it took 25 minutes to make a easy turkey plus sandwich. They had plenty of to go orders coming out but I guess walk ins take a back seat. Second they didn't even put cream cheese and avocado on the sandwich! I won't be returning. Make sure you order ahead of time and call your order in and make sure to dismantle your food to make sure they actually put in what your food is supposed to come with! read more

It is the tasty sandwich place I have been looking for since I showed up to Santa Fe. It is a good working class place to grab lunch to eat in or go (though everything comes in a bag, ready to go). I had the turkey surprise and can't wait for the next one. When my wife and I visited, the line was long but food was served fast. It is not opened on Saturday. read more
