It's got some character, but there was a musty smell to the whole place and the bathrooms were very hot and smelled like sea water and sewer. This place is a Hwy 59 staple. I swear they're open like, literally, all the time! It's kinda club-ish, there's a bouncer at the door (usually no cover, at least not a few years ago) and a DJ. They sometimes have live music and it's usually a busy, rowdy place to stop in for some drinks. (Yes, that also means there are occasional bar fights, but who doesn't love a good bar fight now and again?!) They have pool tables and do karyoke some nights. When I lived here, I was never a huge fan of this spot but it's not a bad place to swing through to grab some strong, fairly cheap drinks. Good spot to bring a big group. We were warned to steer clear of this place but didnt listen. Surely it couldn't be worse than places weve been to at home in Atlanta right? Plus, they have karaoke! ...boy were we wrong. The karaoke part was great! The dj was awesome! ...shed get a 5 star review...but the rest of the experience was awful. We quickly found out why the locals call it Drugbugs. We may have witnessed more cocaine consumption than alcohol. Couldnt use the nasty bathroom in a timely manner because at any given time there was 4-5 ppl powdering their noses. To each their own, but maybe a lil discretion? The final straw for us was the coked out creeper bartender. Dont know his real name, but we kept hearing him refered to as "jefe" . Bearded, tattooed, and more interested in trying to take us home than pour us drinks. Told him multiple times that we didnt want any coke, and that we were lesbians and not interested, and he still didnt get the point. Bartender was the friendliest we've interacted with since we've been here all week. The drinks were delicious and alcoholic and decently priced. Cant say much about the food never ate their but you would never know they cooked because it looks just like its a bar only atmosphere. We went here for drinks around 11 pm on a Monday. The atmosphere was cool. We hung out on the patio most of the time. They had live music that was good and played a lot of stuff our group liked. Went here one night with a few friends. The place was empty other than a bar tender and what appeared to be a few other employees. My group sat outside while I waited inside, alone. Bartender proceeded to ask me to come up to the bar and sit, seemingly friendly enough. Minutes later a couple of women came in and proceeded to talk to me and buy me a drink.. I noticed weird eye contact and glances between them and the bar tender but brushed it off. I sat for a while and finally took my drink outside to sit with my friends. Might I add this was the only drink I had had the entire night. One of the women followed me out. The last thing I remember is sitting down. I woke up 8 hours later in the hotel room feeling awful. The conclusion was that I had been drugged. This has been rumored to be part of sex trafficking ring and I feel that if my friends had not been there, something terrible could have happened to me. If you go here, stay in your group, don't take drinks from strangers (in this case especially if it is a woman) and watch your back. I certainly won't return. read more

My friends and I were on vacation and wanted to go to a karaoke bar. Normally we like local dive bars, so we gave it a good shot. Our choice of No Doubt's "Just a Girl" was not a good one, as the songs of choice were country and death metal. Then a girl named "m" tried to befriend us and asked us where to find coke. Then my friend was being hit on my a guy her dad's age, and he also looked like Uncle Eddie from Xmas Vacation. Also everyone was line dancing, we Northerners don't know how to do that. Finally, service with cash is great, closing out a tab is another story. If you're into people watching or cocaine, you'll like this bar! read more

This place sucks!!! Me and my husband are young adults (27&30). We were looking for a cool place to eat, drink, and hang out away from all the college students on the strip. We were under the assumption this was a restaurant/bar. We walked in and a sign said "please sit wherever you like." The only thing we saw people eating was crawfish boil that's apparently complimentary. We sat down and saw only one waitress who seemed to only be interested in shirtless guys, girls she obviously knew, and regular locals. We never got any service and after 15-20 minutes of waiting we finally got up and walked out! We will never go back!!! read more

We arrived at 6:15 p.m. before the crowd came with 5 people in our party.. About 1 hour and 20 minutes later 3/5 at our table got their food.. It was another hour until we got ours after asking multiple times.. 2+ hours for chicken strips and fries!!! And to top things off our waitress was so rude, ignored us and had NO CLUE what was going on. I still don't even know her name even after talking to the owner. The girl who was NOT working our section took way better care of us and was awesome (I think her name was Laura). Very disappointed with my recent trip to Mud Bugs. Rude, crude, and rapey only begin to describe the attitude and service of the staff. The staff made several sexually aggressive comments at my girlfriend. After confronting the man in question, he told me to pack up my happy yellow ass and dig a hole to China. Before this, I ordered a double IPA and instead of pouring one double IPA, he poured two cups of a regular IPA and tried to charge me for both. Puzzled, I clarified that I only wanted one double IPA, to which he responded by cursing at me. At this point, my card was behind the bar so I asked to close out my tab and found that a mandatory 20% gratuity was added. I am full of hate!!!! read more

This place needs to call the guy from Bar Rescue! This place is terrible. It reeked of old vomit and air freshener everywhere. The only place that didn't smell like vomit was on their patio which had torn, mix matched old furniture. It seemed like the place had never been cleaned. I came with a big group of friends for my sister's bachelorette party and had a great time. The bartenders are awesome! (Including Nikki, you must have been drunk Joey B....lol) She took care of me and my friends all night long made awesome drinks and even came up with shots and drinks when we didn't know what we wanted. on July 29th 2012 A Very rude bartender Nikki don't know if thats how she spells it,however,she talked down to my girlfriend,tried to con me to pay 2 dollars for drafts Ive been paying 1 dollar before she came on the shift,saying this cup is bigger,which it wasn't then says oh,well it's not happy hour,I said I was was told it was all day 1 dollar that particular beer,she huffs,takes the beer and pours it out,and starts playing on her phone,all because I didn't fall for her con?..wow..the other young bartenders and servers that night were very nice,but this one piss poor attitude that nikki displayed was unnecessary,I work hard for my money and just questioned the inconsistency \between bartenders is my right,who wouldn't? we almost left but because the other bartender/server was very nice i decided to stick it out and avoided that rude self center phone texting nikki who acted as though customers were a bother..we did not go back..enjoyed the rest of my vacation else where..Papa roccos' and flori/bama bar were very much a better establishment,you actually felt welcomed,in the five days and nights,I've spent over 250 dollars,at those places,and enjoyed every minute.~Joey read more

Went in one night to watch the football game since the sign outside said NFL night. Instead they had the fights on which were reruns. Went to the outside deck and no one knew how to operate the tv out there. Finally, on one of the smaller tvs inside they put the game on. We could only watch it, not hear it, because the horrible music drowned it out. So much for NFL night. We decided to stay anyway because we were not familiar with the area and wasn't sure of anywhere else to go to watch it. We had just recently moved to the area and they make it very obvious how differently they treat new people. They also charge more if they don't think you live here. Anyway, after finally getting our first drink, apparently we became invisible to the bartenders. There were two girls, one named Nikki, not sure about the other one. Including us, there were maybe 5 or 6 customers. We sat there waiting for at least 20 minutes without them even looking in our direction. They were both to busy yapping and flirting with some loud obnoxious foul mouth guy at the corner of the bar and texting on their phones. I guess they were not concerned about really earning a living. We finally had enough of the torture of this place and left. We made one more attempt to go there another night as a last resort hoping for different bar tenders. Gave it a big NO when we found out they were charging a cover. Believe me, there is NOTHING about this place worth paying a cover for unless you are looking to score drugs. read more
