Another disappointing performance by the staff at the muddy cow. I walked in at 4:30pm today. There was 8ish people at the bar. I walked up to it and waited 5 minutes to be served. The two ladies behind the bar looked at me multiple times in the five minutes. Both ladies were not helping anyone and the one lady put away a few clean dishes during that time. Otherwise she looked at her phone or just talked to the other staff. I went and sat down in the dining section where my party. I showed up after everyone else had their drinks and food. So a different waitress came and grabbed my drink order. 10 minutes passed when she came back and asked me what I ordered because she forgot. I ended up telling her I was no longer ordering anything. She did apologize for not putting in my drink order. Everything I have written above would be fine and completely understandable if it was busy. But this is a Monday between 4:30 and 5 pm. 8ish people at the bar and two to three other tables. So busy is not what I would call it. The food is decent when I have ordered. But the service this night was again just another disappointment in this place. read more

After a long day driving, placed an order for pickup. The prices reflected online were not what we were charged. Online the salad was $16 including chicken, I was charged $4+ extra for chicken. The kids meal online was $6 and I was charged $8. I expected to pay what was shown online. My fave is the bacon curd burger with the melted cheese curd "patty" on top of the burger. The garlic aioli could be served on a flip flop and still taste good! Service unfortunately, can be hit or miss, even prior to covid related issues. Sometimes, you have someone there immediately, other times we've had to wait for putting in a drink order for nearly ten minutes. Until I found Muddy Cow. :) my only complaint is that they were closed for lunch during the summer... so I haven't been back for a while. Got a recommendation to come here and honestly was not disappointed. Really good food and pretty good service. They offer things that I've never seen any other bar or restaurant have on a menu before like poutine or a burger with eggs. They also have their own unique touch to their place; a cheese ball machine! Let me tell you, those cheese balls were very fresh! I was also impressed with how they present their food. I rarely go to a new restaurant in the first few months -- I like to wait until they work out the kinks. That being said, the new Muddy Cow (formerly the Farmer's Daughter and Heroes) was a pleasant night out with the family from 9 to 89! Seven of us enjoyed Monday's $5 burger specials and ate ourselves silly! The onion rings are those big, heavily breaded type and amazing (especially if you like the thick, juicy kind of rings). I was pleasantly surprised to see gluten free buns on the menu. Six of us ordered burgers and we were all very happy with our choices. My husband ordered the Paul Bunyan -- a beast of a burger with an onion ring and cheese curds on top! Yes, it was decadent but very delicious and included in the $5 burger specials. The place was packed so there was a short wait for our meals, yet it was much quicker than I expected from a new restaurant, staff and menu. I could live without the 2 for 1 drink gimmick, but there were enough of us to order one drink and share the second, so that worked out OK too. There were plenty of families enjoying burger night and it looks like they are catering to families for the dinner hour. A rare find in Litchfield. Our family was in town for a lake trip and with not many options in Litchfield, we gave the Muddy Cow a chance. The restaurant is large which was great for our group of 10. We were seated pretty quickly. Our server was attentive for a busy night and managing a large table. Drinks came out quickly and who doesn't like 2-4-1! I don't like it when they bring both drinks out at the same time, but oh well. It took a minute to get our order in but that was to be expected on a busy night. Once the order was in, the food didn't take that long and from what I could tell everyone liked their food. I tried the curd cheeseburger which had a thick layer of curd melted on top with garlic aioli. Gosh it was good. I didn't realize all of the burgers are two patties. They serve some sour cream mixture with fries and it's GOOD. A few people at the table ordered wraps which looked tasty and all of the portions were large. It was Friday night, I was at the bar gambling money on pull-tabs when I heard a ( Get off the Cow), When I looked the girl almost immediately jumped off the cow and replied with ("the owners name" said that once the cow was bolted to the ground I could get on top of it and take a pic) To what the bartender agreed and said he had witnessed the owner tell her that. I made two hundred and fifty dollars and the crew of seven beautiful blondes told her; so she sat by me and ordered 20 dollars in pull tabs and I guess she made 4 dollars and gave it to the bartender; I guess he miss-placed it and couldn't find the four dollars; she cussed and told him she didn't care and he could keep it. Anyways the bouncer asked her to leave ... she immediately started to walked towards the door while she said I'm leaving. As she is walking away the bouncer is walking after her, I felt that he didn't have to escort her or walk behind her. I felt that he was abusing his power and I felt afraid for her. She walks back into ask the group of girls she had walked in with for a lighter, the seven girls walked outside with her to wait for their ride. Again I see the bouncer walking in a hurry walking towards the girls outside. The girl again is posing on top of a iron cannon; the bouncer was harassing her telling her that she had to get off the canon and that he was going to call the cops. I, very civilized and surprised for his lack of tact - I looked at him and said- Is this a bar? Because he was being such a buzz killer. Anyways my friend asked me not to engage him. While the other girl told him: look around you, this place is empty on a Friday night because of you! And she also replied something along the line- what did I do wrong? Tell me!!! Because I have a bachelors degree in law. The dude was silent for a sec and she replied Nothing! Exactly! To what he replied you are 86ed ! (All of us looked around and asked what is that) to what he added : your friends can come back here , but you can't. To what she replied: No they won't, they won't come back. Wherever I go they go, and I'm never coming back!! Just on time their ride came in- as she got in the vehicle she yelled at him- and your UGLY!!! Why did I tell you this story? I don't think much happens in this town, so the bouncer at this sports bar is looking for trouble. Save yourself the bad experience at watching an almost six foot male get into confrontations with five feet tall women just because he is bored. The staff needs training. When your customer is complaint to all your rules it doesn't have to get out of hand even if the customer has a smart mouth; it's a bar, there are drinks just as long that he or she is complaint... WHY ??? Make it more than it had to be? The place has potential... but I guess by what I saw the dude scares the customers away. read more

This is a new sports bar/restaurant. The interior is very open and well lighted and clean. The menu is somewhat limited to burgers, sandwiches, pizza, apps and wings. I had a philly cheese steak sandwich with fries and it was very good. My wife had the brisket sandwich and Cole slaw which she enjoyed very much. We had ice tea and lemonade to drink. The prices are not on the menu but the cost for our 2 meals was just over $27.00. Not bad. Lots of TV's to watch but not too noisy. Overall a very good meal. read more

This is the second time we have been here for rib night and both times the ribs were COLD! My daughter ordered mac and cheese and that was cold. The manager the first time was very nice and very sorry so we thought we would try it again. Well the manager tonight was not sorry at all. Never apologized for the cold food.
