Have been here many times. A friend goes here every week & multiple times. She loves the food & drinks.. I personally only like the mixed drink I always get. The food I have ate here maaaybe 3 times? & every time I'm just disappointed with the food. I had the "cheesy Louisey" the last time & it was disgusting in my opinion.. it says "beer cheese" which I really like the white beer cheeses.. this was the yellow kind? & literally DRENCHED in it.. so much so, it was gross & inedible to me. Boneless Wings are decent, but not great. I always get a "Green Tea Shot" but in a drink, full cup form lol not a shot. & it always yummy. The bar guy is always fun & great! They also have a ducky claw machine, def entertaining. Also a few other games that my kids enjoyed. Outdoor dining but we couldn't order from out there due to staffing issues? Recently. I think it was. So we had to eat inside. I guess you can table sit, order, & THEN take it outside.. is what we were told. But we just didn't. We wanted to fully dine outside. Great place with really diverse menu, great local beers on tap and set in a really cool atmosphere. We went after a College of Wooster Softball game as the Visiting Team from DePauw with family in tow. Got seated quickly, great atmosphere (friendly & casual without being too loud) and the artifacts on the wall and the story of the Stables all made sense. Food was great (I had the local bison burger) and the service was friendly, efficient and quick. Had a custom Old Fashioned with some local rye whiskey and a local brew. Was a great night! As a former brewery owner, and a lover of Fathead's beers, we ordered an Octoberfest beer and received a light lagerish beer. When we challenged the bartender, she confirmed that it was indeed the Fathead's Octoberfest beer. She admitted to having very little experience with beers. It's not her fault. Great open space, perfect for kids however no changing station so a problem for those in diapers. Kind staff and HUGE menu. Like way too many things on the menu. Waitress said the burgers were what they were know for... I mean they were edible but not my preferred. I had the regular single and it was fine. The bun was stale which probably contributed more to my assessment. Bison burger was ok, same as shroom burger. The bison was on a different bun which helped. The rodeo burger, I think it was called was interesting. Good onion rings and great sauces. The pulled pork had nice flavor however the texture was off. Very ground. Then I pretty spicy pineapple sauce too. Fries were good. Tots were super salty. Probably best for college kids and beer. read more

Waited over an hour. Asked the server that appeared to be taking care of the whole restaurant by herself. She said that the chicken just came up in the window after an hour and 15 minute wait. Atmosphere is nice although it is a little cold. The burger that i ordered medium is in the picture it was so charred that I couldn't taste the meat. Wife could chew the chicken in the sandwich. Where do I begin? First time visit. Decided to get lunch for the family. First off, the place is cool as can be. Awesome ambiance. The food- Maybe the best burgers in Wooster? (Sorry City Square, you've fallen to #2). The TRUCKLOAD of delicious fries with each meal had this 6'4" 330 lb guy absolutely stuffed. The price. About $15-$17 per meal (which are two meals) each. Absolutely justified. Try it and tell me I'm wrong. Any naysayers don't appreciate good food. Also, the girl taking my order by phone, super pleasant and helpful. It was probably a year ago that my wife and I tried this neat new restaurant. It popped up on Yelp again I figured I would finally complete a review. The inside is laid out really fun with cars, motorbikes and other fun motorhead memorabilia. The restaurant was a little slow when we stopped in but the food was delicious and the waitress was very attentive as well. We thought of going here again recently when we had some out of town guests but we decided to go somewhere else. The last 3 times I've come here we've gotten seated quickly, our orders taken, and then proceeded to wait a minimum of 2 hours for food. We came once for lunch in the spring of last year, there were only 3 other people in the restaurant. The second time was recently, expecting the service to be better. We were very disappointed. Giving this spot 5 stars even though the service was really slow. The food was awesome!! The waitstaff were super friendly, I just wish they had more help in the kitchen to push the food out faster. That said, we knew it would take a while and we were willing to wait. We went twice. Night one we popped in for a few drinks at the bar, but after seeing the food, we went back for dinner the second night. It did not disappoint! The burgers were fantastic!! Although we didn't get a chance to hit up their BBQ themed brunch, we were told it's the best brunch around (and by the looks of the menu, we believe it). Visiting from out of town while attending a swim meet and decided to check it out because of the nice exterior. The food and service were just as pleasant. Extensive menu with anything you can think of. Hubby and I split a catfish platter that came with slaw, beans, and fries and The Texan burger. Everything was popping hot, fresh, and delicious. Today a lady sat outside on the patio with her daughter and (very well behaved & quiet doggo) and the *same* girl would not serve them and asked them to leave because they had their furry friend. It was only us and them and the dog was no trouble at all. Shame on you Muddy's. Especially when the airstream event is going on and most of them have dogs. You are missing out on a ton of sales. My husband and I came here on our anniversary and had lunch and had a wonderful time. The woman taking our order was very friendly and checked on us frequently to make sure we were happy with our order. The restaurant had fun little trinkets that you can actually purchase and the environment was welcoming and clean. Will be returning again! read more

We were there for breakfast, just pancakes and French toast. Rock hard butter and cold syrup are not good accompaniments. Still adequate. Our server never checked in with us nor did he ask how everything was when we paid. We tried to share our problem he wasn't interested, asked for the manager. Stopped in for late lunch while visiting Wooster. Service was great, even though sign at door warned it might be slow due to staffing challenges. Had Bison burger, onion rings and pepperoni spring rolls. Enormous portions, sides are shareable. Asked if we could watch a football game and they changed the channel and put us in a location where we could easily see the game. Wow.. Just wow. My experience tonight was so bad I deleted my previous review of Muddys which was wonderful. Tonight, I called in a take-out order at 5:50pm and was told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes.. Knowing this is Friday night, I figured the food might not be ready exactly when they said it would be. I got there at 6:25pm thinking I gave them plenty of time. As I walked in, as usual I was greeted by the hostess and told her I was picking up. She directed me to the bar, like usual, so I made my way to the area designated for to-go orders. While sitting there, I noticed that the restaurant was not nearly as busy as I thought it would of been buy it seemed like they had more employees than usual. One of the employees seemed like he was in charge.. or at least acted like it.. especially when he started to bitch at the bartender for pouring too much wine in a glass that was being sent to a table. There were other questionable interactions this same employee had with others that made me think he HAD to be a manager on an ego-trip or related to the owner. Either way.. big ego. I sat at the bar, in the very first stool closest to the register that they ring out the takeout orders and whatnot so everyone there had to see me. In fact, they couldn't miss me. So I sat and waited.. and waited.. and waited. In fact, it wasn't until 6:43pm until someone acknowledged me at all. A full 18 minutes after I got there before anyone even looked my way or said they would be right with me!!!! You're too busy to say ANYTHING to me but of course not too busy to bitch at employees 5 feet in front of me?? Now.. it's worth saying that I am no stranger to the restaurant business and I have even owned a restaurant in a different life.. So if anything I am sympathetic to the industry. But I digress. At 6:43pm, the child acting as a manager came around the corner with my order. Considering that nobody ever asked my name I have to assume I had the only to-go order at the time.. which that alone is very telling.. remember this is Friday night. When he brought the food out, I said to him "I hope it's fresh", in reference to the long time I was waiting for someone to bring it out from the kitchen. He smirked at me and said "well we're short staffed". I immediately looked around and pointed out that the place wasn't that busy and there's more staff tonight than there's been in a while. Mr Manager-boy rolled his eyes and just responded with a sarcastic "whatever". My response was simple. "Dude, just a heads up.. I've been here almost 20 minutes and nobody bothered to say hello. You included".. his head shook his head immediately denying until I told him I watched him chastise the bartender and yell at a server right in front of me. Again.. a sarcastic eye roll. So annoying. He then gave me the bill for my order and I got out my card to pay. Mr Manager, instead of leaving well enough alone, decided to tell me that I "just don't understand". It was at that point when I was done. I asked for my card back and said "ya know what, let's just end this right now before it gets worse". He half-heartedly offered me to just take the food and go, to which I said no thanks. Again, instead of just leaving thing be, Mr Manager screamed at me "Ya know what, just get out. Go. Don't ever come back. You're banned." He screamed this to the point where everyone else stopped and turned their heads to look at me as I walked out. While I was leaving, a couple who were also at the bar, got up and left with me. Outside, the man said to me "man, you didn't deserve that. You weren't even nasty". I just smiled, knowing he was right. I'm banned from a restaurant that was only half occupied during what should be the middle of the dinner hour? I'm banned from a restaurant in a town filled with great restaurants without a jackass for a manager.. Oh darn. Did this idiot not think I wasn't going to post about my experience all over Facebook, Yelp, Google and every other platform I could think of? Do he think that I won't tell every person I know in the area about this??? read more

TL;DR Waited two hours for food and the staff (Kaleb) was drinking straight from the bottle on the clock. There are so many problems with this place it's unreal. I'll start off positive and say the food is delicious, HOWEVER, that may just be because I waited nearly two hours for it. It's Friday afternoon, and there's maybe 3 other tables in the whole place. So not a busy night. I joined a group of 8 friends at 5 pm whom had been there for an hour already. 15 minutes later, Kaleb came and finally took everyone's food order (again, this is an hour and 15 in for everyone else), then brought drinks back ANOTHER 15 minutes later. A full hour passes, in which time not one staff member checked on us. When they do finally come, it's with appetizers. Which were LITERALLY chips and dip. ANOTHER HALF HOUR PASSED and I was finally sick of waiting, and went to check and see what the situation was with the server. So I go over to the bar, and asked Kaleb, very patiently, what the eta was on our food. Kaleb was immediately an absolute dick to me, and said "I'm just the bartender, it's not even my job to help you guys" in a SUPER rude tone. I've worked service, so I am very sympathetic when being short staffed and all that but this guys attitude was extremely uncalled for. He then told me something to the effect of "the food will get there when it gets there" and that it wouldn't be much longer. One from our group had to leave at the hour and a half mark, and went to cancel her order, at which time they finally start bringing food out. Now this is where I will give them credit, because whoever was in the kitchen did nail it, and the food was pretty solid. But the fact that no one had even acknowledged us was just infuriating. THEN, I find out why Kaleb was so confrontational, and it's cause he was straight DRINKING TEQUILA from the bottle behind the bar. Not only is this just poor service but straight up unsanitary. Finally, when it came time for the check, they took our cards and took a full 30 minutes to get them back to us. I used to come all the time and would gladly deal with slower service but I will 100% never go back there. read more

Surprised by the reviews... but this is a solid restaurant. Prices are right, service is great. The smell of the smoked ribs got me at the door. This place is decent. I think then prices are high. You are going to pay $9 for a Dan which which does not include a side. I ha e had burgers and recently the Cuban. The Cuban was ok, the pork had no smoke taste at all. The meat on the sand which was about 200 degrees when I bit into it and burn my mouth. I was shocked at how hot the meat was!!! It's an ok place to eat but I think way over priced. You can get better sandwiches for less in town at Gouda or Spoon. read more

This place has a good variety on their menu. They offer GF buns for their burgers but have put the onion rings on the top a couple of times. Tips, get the Ranger burger! Avoid the Caesar Wrap. And bring a sweater, it's always cool in there. read more

This place was busy. Many of the locals dining came in with no masks on and the servers did not wear masks. I didn't want to stay, but we were visiting our child at college and some other parents wanted to go here. My husband enjoyed the ribs. The server was pleasant, but like 95% of The menu seems like frozen bag food. Would be nice for people to follow the masks mandate. Also if you are a COW family who happens to be diverse, please know the locals will stare you down. It was all very uncomfortable. If all you judged a restaurant on were looks this would be a great one. Sadly, however, you must eat as well. Our service wasn't very good from start to finish. Their sandwiches and burgers are served a la carte aka no fries etc. served with. That might have been a good piece of information to have your server make you aware of. We attempted to order spring rolls as an appetizer but the server came back and informed us they were out of the traditional spring rolls. So we opted for the veggie spring rolls. Big mistake! Not sure exactly what they were going for here but it didn't work for us. The filling was some sort of Mediterranean or Moroccan type flavor that neither of us appreciated. To give you an idea we are big boys and there were 3 spring rolls and she took 1 1/2 back when she cleared the table. Which by the way didn't happen until WAY after we were done eating and were looking for our check so we could leave. Hubs had the bison burger and enjoyed it. I ordered the Cuban and it was simply OK. Seems as though the kitchen was off kilter when they made the sandwich because the fillings were not spread evenly on the sandwich. All the pickles were at one end. I've also never seen diced ham on a Cuban before. I'm assuming they ran out of ham and just used that because it was on hand. Our favorite place in town to eat! The food is always prepared fresh so plan on waiting a bit to get it after you place your order. Wednesday is half off wing night and we are usually there. If I'm going to Muddy's, I'm sitting at the bar. The service is WAY better there. I'm not saying that if I want a beer that I IMMEDIATELY need to have a beer, but sitting in regular seating means you're waiting awhile to get your drink. Best cut out all of that time and distance between you and your beverage. The beer selection is pretty solid for a Wooster bar. It's not going to be the high end, craft, specialty types of beers you can get at other places, (and pay out of the nose for!), but some good brews that focus on being tasty over interesting/ challenging. I'm torn about the food. So far, I've found that the way the food sounds in the menu descriptions differs from the execution. Most recently, I've had a burger that sounded much better than it tasted, and a fish sandwich that would've been amazing, had it not been for the quart of oil that dripped out of it. (Either dirty oil, or not fried at a hot enough temp.) Still, simple bar foods turn out really well. I really like their onion rings, (still greasy, but the batter is good), and have had good success with their other appetizers. I wouldn't say Muddy's is the place for a sit down meal. I've got other places I prefer for established dinners. However, for a night of snacks and drinking, Muddy's is a great pick. Stand around by the bar, order some bar food to pick at, and have fun with the bartenders. Also, a great stop if you're planning a bar tour. Muddy's would be either a great start or end to any bar crawl. read more
