Ugh I was not impressed with this place at all. This was my last restaurant before leaving PR & I realized that they take their sweet time in the kitchen. Every place I went to in the San Juan area made me wait over 30 mins for my food & this place was no exception. I was already irritated because I was craving crab cakes & they didn't have it. I remember asking for something else & they didnt have that either. I just picked a random pasta dish from the menu because I was over it & exhausted from being outside all day. Since the food took so long, I decided to have them give it to me in a to-go container so I could eat it in the airbnb. Oh I forgot to mention that I ordered a pina colada & they served it in a candle glass lol. It was good so whatever. I would not recommend this restaurant because I felt like it was very over rated & the food was not great at all. The decor is probably the only good thing about this place.

We found this place while walking around the port area, offshore from a cruise. They have a very fun atmosphere with lots of decorative art. We ordered the fish tacos, pork sliders and fish nuggets. The fried tilapia fish tacos were excellent, as well as the pork sliders with pickled onions. Their homemade rum sauce on the sliders was very good. The mahi-mahi fish nuggets were excellent, and they said the fish was caught fresh that morning; it sure tasted like it, too! The Medalla beer was served very cold in a bottle. Service was excellent, she was very friendly and helpful. We are so glad we found this restaurant. Definitely worth a visit!

Mojitos, tostones and arroz con candules. Nice ambience, fast service and tasty food. We sat at the bar and had a couple of appetizers.

If you're looking to waste your time, kill your appetite, and test your patience this is the place! They took over an hour just to bring a water and a Coke. We waited TWO HOURS for cold rice and chicken so dry & hard to bite. The mofongo with skirt steak? Sopa de aceite, no flavor just platanos drowning in oil! A heart attack waiting to happen. And the steak? Might as well have handed us chicle, each piece took 30 minutes to chew. Honestly, I've had better meals in microwaved leftovers. This was disrespectful to my tastebuds & my pockets. 0/10

The mixologist was very friendly and knowledgeable... He created some delicious drink drinks with all natural fruit juices it was also helpful as to where we can go for some nightlife.

I wanted to like this place and this is my honest review, When we went they were missing like half their menu including their burger they said the avocado isn't in season and that's why, but they have a restaraunt right by this spot which has no issue serving me avocado the next day. They also had a kid burger and it was huge. It was red on the inside. My daughter who isn't a picky eater didn't eat it. My MIL got pasta and her pasta was good, my man got a mofongo with yuca and it was very good. The service was extremely extremely slow... they couldn't find a Heineken at first then they found one. I was a little irritated with how slow the service was. The food that was ordered besides the burger was good. I don't know what's up with half the menu missing and when I asked for cafe con leche as I have 3 littles with me she said the machine was broken. If they don't have coffee , and they don't have avocado and they missing half a menu they should remake the menu with items they do have. I got flustered after ordering coffee and being told the machine was broke then being told there is no avocado in season, yet I eat avocado at every other location I ate stuffed avocado at Raices the next day. So when she asked if I still want something I gave up ordering food and just took bites of my man and his mother's food. I was scared to be told again we don't have what's on the menu and I was embarrassed to keep trying to order food. Unfortunately because of this I wouldn't go back unless it was to run inside for a drink. I do appreciate a food truck in these situations. Eating out is so much money and I really look to spend my money at places that take their establishment seriously. I felt like I was being messed with I don't know is the cafe machine really broken. I won't be back.

Rude staff. Extremely slow. Food around us looked bad. Stayed for one drink that lasted an hour cause no one would help us.

Looks can be deceiving. Had the Arroz con Grandules, which was gummy and inedible, along with tough, chewy Bistec (steak) Tacos and bland, unsavory Chicken Tacos. Also had Pork Sliders that were room temperature at best and need MORE seasoning. HATE when tortillas are NOT grilled! No one wants to eat insipid flour. The Chicken Empanadas were actually juicy and flavorful. The Passionfruit Mojito and Pina Colada that was supposed to have spiced Rum but it tasted like watered down Coconut. Service was rudimentary but inattentive. Saw a young lady chef come out. She should have her Abuela give a refresher because her cooking was very "youthful."

Food was really good, we got the crispy chicken con habichuela con arroz, however the service was not top tier.

    Oily Mofongo

The absolute worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. We waited over 3 hours for our food. The food was disgusting. I ordered Mofongo and it was so oily it looked like soup. Our drinks were completely watered down, the server said,"oh I forgot to give it to you, but it was made so you still have to pay for it." We would also ask him for napkins and he would say "oh yes, but I have another table to take care of." As if we also aren't paying customers. Please do not waste your time. Go next door to raíces or any other place around there. But save your time and money.

My friends and I were walking through the rainy, hot and humid streets of Old San Juan and needed a break from the heat and humidity. We saw Muelle 13 with a cool aesthetic and decided to stop for drinks and appetizers. Our friend let one of the servers know that we were a group of six. She was not very friendly and acted as though we were troubling her by asking for such a large table. She did go inside and came back to let us know they had a table for us. We were seated and luckily our server was much friendlier. Unfortunately, after bringing our orders, he was not really present. However, our orders did come out, slowly. I had a tropical drink called Isla de la Tortuga and my husband had a watermelon cocktail. They were both pretty good. Unfortunately, I did not like the food at all. The croquetas and crab cakes were over cooked and overly breaded. I shared with my husband, but could not eat my portion. We also shared the pork sliders, which had a slightly stale flavor. I left most of mine on my plate. We may have stayed for a second round of drinks, but by that point our server was absent. My friend got her ketchup when her fries were already almost gone. We decided to ask for our check, but the servers were having some sort of a meeting in the front of the restaurant. We were about to walk up and interrupt, but finally were able to get our check. Anyway, bad food and poor service... do not recommend.

Wandering Old San Juan at sunset looking for a great place for dinner and stumbled upon Muelle 13. From the moment we walked in they were welcoming, made great craft cocktails and mofongo! Had my favorite mamopasteo and theirs was delicious. A great vibe, great staff and well crafted food and drinks! We are staying for two weeks but I fully recommend for cruise goers, not far from the port!

We were thrilled when we finally walked through the door again after wracking our brains to remember our favorite spot in Old Town. Upon entering, we were greeted by a young woman who, mentioned it was her very first day as an assistant to the bartender. Despite being brand new, she was warm, engaged, and genuinely welcoming, excited for us that we had made it back after several years, and impressed with our efforts. Shortly thereafter the bartender on duty approached us mid-conversation, visibly irritated. When I mentioned that we hadn't yet decided on drinks but were being well taken care of in the meantime, she interrupted sharply to bark at us that she was the bartender and the ONLY one who could help us. The tone was unwelcoming enough that after a moment, my companion and I determined that we would prefer to move on and left without ordering. The atmosphere is truly special, and it deserves to be matched by the experience guests receive at the bar. Our experience was simply not the vibe that night, and I truly was disappointed FOR the new hire who was doing what she should in engaging us until we could be served. I sincerely hope to return on a future visit to San Juan and to rediscover the experience that first brought me back to La Grieta.

It's small, loud, a little gritty, and completely inviting--exactly what a true dive bar should be. The walls are covered in graffiti and stickers from years of visitors leaving their mark, and honestly, that's part of the magic. You can't help but look around and smile at all the personality packed into such a cozy space. One of my favorite details? Look over to the right corner of the bar and you'll spot what looks like a vintage cash register straight out of the 1800s. Then right in the middle of the bar you've got the modern point-of-sale devices. The contrast is hilarious and perfect--old-school charm meeting modern bar life. There's a pool table, plenty of seating for such an intimate spot, and yes, a restroom inside (always appreciated in Old San Juan!). But what really makes this place stand out is the service--the staff is fantastic, welcoming, and they pour seriously strong drinks that are also refreshingly affordable. This is the kind of place where you come for one drink in the afternoon and suddenly the whole evening disappears in great conversation and good vibes. If you're wandering the streets of Old San Juan and want authentic dive bar energy, great drinks, and a place full of character, this is absolutely a must-stop. Highly recommend.

The vibe was great, the food was fresh and well made, and the service was friendly overall. A fun bonus: we actually got to see the famous rock band Maná dining there, which was such a cool surprise! We ordered quite a bit--the chips and queso, chips and guac, hot sauce, tamale, rice and beans, kids cheese quesadilla, and veggie fajitas. The kids' quesadilla was a huge hit with our 5-year-old (who is a picky eater and devoured it). The veggie fajitas were decent and tasty, though for the price I would have liked a bit more on the plate in terms of sides. There was a small hiccup where cilantro was accidentally added to one of my dishes, and it did take quite a while for the corrected dish to come out, but they were very kind about it. That said, everything else was enjoyable and the overall experience was still very good. Overall, a great spot for solid Mexican food in Old San Juan with a fun atmosphere and fresh flavors.
