I had one $1500 visit from these folks to "thoroughly clean out my yard" before they began a $65 a visit bi-weekly maintenance plan. The $1500 visit was an hour of leaf blow and pickup with an extra $900 to trim my small maple trees. There was no return for maintenance. When I phoned to query this, I was informed that each visit of two men with leaf blower costs $1500. I bought myself a leaf blower. read more

This landscaping service provided by Mueller (specifically by Derek and Donavan) is, without a doubt, the best I have ever used. They had a 3 hr. window to do the work. Our back yard looked like a Jurrasic Park set so I was doubtful they could get the work done in that length of time. These men worked like their lives depended on it. They asked guidance and set to work and did exactly as I wanted (stayed away from my Callas) and no more. Not only did they finish the back yard ahead of time, with the time left they cut the hedge in the front yard, pulled weeds, edged a walkway, air blasted small stones off my fake grass lawn, cleaned my front porch and the driveway! We hired this company to take care of a small front and backyard. It was $200. When they were finished the grass clippings were left all over. Weeds just played down by mower. Apparently they work by time not the job. If you pay $200 they will do what they can in an hour not finish the job. My yard is small and front and backyard usually take 45 minutes. Excellent service from start to finish. Requested a one-time cleanup of the weeds in my backyard and they replied very promptly. Sent in request via website on a Friday, they tried calling on a Monday, I talked with them on Tuesday, and they scheduled a crew for the very next day! Spoke to many wonderful customer service reps (including the owner's wife) and they explained everything from pricing to what would be done, how long it would take, and any extra fees. Because my yard was so overgrown, they did come out for a second day. They even called to get my authorization for an extra 1/2 hour of work. I mean who does that these days??! And the yard looks 10 times better. If I had a regular grass yard and not a dirt pile growing weeds, lol, I'd be hiring them for monthly service. Price was more than I was hoping to spend but it was still reasonable considering the size of my yard (approx. 1/3 acre) and how bad it was. The owner himself came out the first day to check on things and asked permission to tape the work. It looks like they have a YouTube channel where they post videos showing prospective customers what services they offer. One thing to be aware of, is they generally don't haul away the debris and if they do, it will be a $20 charge per bag. This was explained to me several times over the phone and was also on the esimate. If you have a normal size yard, this may not be an issue but I opted out and will just keep filling my green bin until it's gone. I have a monthly service for yard cleanup. I have rocks with low maintenance plants in the front and artificial grass in the back. Two men come every month and take care of my weeds, trim my bushes and clean up my side yard. I don't need to tell them what to do. They know what is needed to clean up the yard. They do a great job and complete my yard care in a quick amount of time. I highly recommend them! read more

What a horrible company!! They charge a minimum of 30 minutes for yard work. No problem. I completely understand. However, when the landscapers showed up, they did not check in with me or anyone in the home. They did not ask what then priority's were. My neighbor watched them and even asked them if she would like her to get us from inside the house and they said No. She watched them. She timed them and they were on my property for 12 minutes and left. 12 minutes. And the job was horrible. Absolutely awful I was charged for 30 minutes. When I received a phone call from a man stating how much they were going to charge my card, I informed him of all the issues. The fox tails, the debris, the lack of edging, the lack of raking up the debris, and that my grass was still up to my ankles and my neighbor timed them and they were only on the property for 12 minutes. In turn, he started to argue with me, say he was looking at pictures of my property and there was not any issues and that the gardeners were here for 20 minutes. I explained I needed them back ASAP as I was leaving town and needed all foxtails gone because of my dog. He said no and that he would prorate me. He then continued to argue with me about the condition of my yard and that, even though I was standing IN MY YARD AS I WAS SPEAKING WITH HIM, he STILL said that my yard was fine. The next day I look at my credit card and they charged my card WITHOUT my authorization for the FULL amount. I then left a message on their voicemail. On Monday, I receive a call from a woman, who, once again, argued about the state of my yard and that they "DONT RAKE" and that their lawn mower picks up all debris. Really? Again, I AM STANDING IN MY YARD and a person who has NEVER been to my home is arguing with me about my yard. I also brought up the point that they charged my credit card without my authorization and that it was for the full amount. She then said they were on my property for 12 minutes. Okay, so this is a family business, that lies about the time they spend at a home, who charge a credit card WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION, which is stealing, and who claims there is a magic lawn mower that picks up all debris. Watch out! The owner will post an answer to defend his company and not resolve issues. Just read! DONT USE THIS COMPANY. MY BANK HAD ME OPEN A FRAUD CLAIM. DONT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY BILL FOR TIME THEY WERE NOT ON THR PROPERTY DONT USE THIS COMPANY THEY DO NOT RAKE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY WILL NOT CORRECT THEIR MISTAKES IN RESPONSE TO JOHNS STATEMENT......as I said he would do....NO ONE offered to come fix my lawn. In fact I ASKED THEM TO COME FIX IT and they didn't. The crew may have arrived at that time....but they did not start for 10 more minutes after the took out their equipment. They cover services throughout San Diego area.. Justin came the first day and he was terrific and cleaned out my front yard and put mulch. He couldn't complete the job that day but it was 100% better and I was so grateful. Justin got to work right away and his passion for gardening was obvious. The next week both the front & back yard got completed. I didn't get to meet the gardeners that came 2nd week but work was done well. I'm pleased with their work and would recommend them. Looking for a gardening/landscaping service in a new town is not an easy task, so of course I came to Yelp to peruse through a few. I decided on Mueller and it was a great choice! We hadn't maintained our yard pretty much all winter and the time had come to have someone else do it for us. I spoke with the owner and his wife and they gave me an estimate. They had two workers out in just 2 days and they worked on my yard for about 2 hours. Not only were they very friendly and helpful, the work they did was AMAZING! The yard looks better than it ever has and I am now using their services twice a month for maintenance. So glad I found them! read more

The previous owners of my house were professional landscapers/gardeners. They planted lots of invasive plants, which I'm sure they were able to keep up with and make look nice. I've heard that they worked in the yard everyday. My husband and I do not have the knowledge to keep up with this yard, nor the time to work in it everyday, but we didn't want to just rip everything out. It didn't take long before it was completely overgrown and out of control. I had a hard time finding a company to help me out. (One guy actually came over to give me a bid, and then said, "Um, I'm not taking this on!) It requires more than a Mow, Blow, and Go service. Mueller Landscaping is very organized. Laura must have a filing cabinet in her brain. She is very easy to work with. She recommended having a crew come out every week for as long as I needed them (we found a price and time I was comfortable with) and once I was happy with the way the yard looked, I could move into maintenance. Maintenance is a relative term, though. I have had to rip many things out, because it wasn't sustainable to keep it up the way it was. (Pro tip: Don't EVER plant horsetail bamboo directly into the ground. If you really like that stuff, plant it in a planter so you can contain it.) It's taken me a long time to get the yard to a point where I don't come home and feel overwhelmed by how much there is to do. But I don't feel that way anymore, and that is because of Will, who leads the crew that works in my neighborhood. He works on this yard as if it were his own. In fact, I think he has more pride of ownership than I do. I NEVER have to worry that he is going to do something I'm not going to like, whether I'm here or not when they do the work. He somehow crams so much into the 30 minutes that he's here--I really don't know how he does it. One time, I came home when it was dark, but I could tell that it had been a Will Day. I actually like the yard now (and I'm not carrying on conversations in my head with the previous owners, like, "Dude, what were you thinking!?") and that is largely because of Will. When I started calling around to get my yard done 3 years ago I was lucky enough to find John. We had a complete overhaul (whole front and back yard were just weeds and dirt), and we were very happy with the customer service, speed of work, the price, and most importantly the final product. John and his team seem to take great pride in their work. Since the first major project I have continued to use them for yard maintenance, and any other odd jobs I have around my yard. They even helped me on very short notice to get my yard ready to sell my house. The price is always right and you can trust that they will get things done one time and on budget. *** updated with photos *** work hat cost me nearly $500 and time to get them to TRY and fix. Wanted a trustworthy company because I had been flaked on too many times. Found these guys online. Had them come out. Told them what I wanted done. THREE guys came out for and hour and 45 minutes and barely got anything done. Greenery and pine needles were left in my mulch area. Dried, dead stuff was left in my beds. Bushes weren't even trimmed back off sidewalk, left all crooked. They didn't even contain my bird of paradise. To top it off they left clippings on the other side of my hedge in my neighbors front yard by their door, how embarrassing. Paid them to come back out again because they assured me it was my yard too over grown and they didn't have enough time. Over $500 later and 3 trips out and these guys suck. When I complained and sent them photos of everything they didn't offer any good customer service. They wanted to charge more and tell me it was all my yard. They also didn't put any of the trash bags of clippings in my EMPTY green container and left five bags on the ground (it costs extra for haul off! Months later I found a recommended guy. Hired him, he brought three guys out for 30 minutes and my yard was pristine, even and very neat!! He even replaced a leaky faucet head and charged me a whopping $115 to take care of it all AND haul off what didn't fit in my green can. read more

Finally had to throw in the towel. Multiple issues over the years. Service degradation and the crew changes quite a bit. I have spoken with both John and Laura on multiple occasions, sent photos of problems and it just got to the point where the complaining and explaining isn't doing any good. They ruined a lawn chair last time they were here and lately it's something wrong every visit. As much as I don't like changing lawn services to another company, it's time and I'm done. Even though it was a Sunday and John (the owner) was at game, he called me back within the hour. We made plans to meet and check out the disaster that was my yard. He was very professional and easy to talk to. His guys are in uniform, very professional, speak english, and are great at what they do. We have been customers of Mueller for MORE THAN 5 YEARS! John was normally very accommodating and serviceable, especially since our property (and family) had gone through so many changes in 5 years (for example, we got two dogs). I am VERY particular about the grooming of my yard, and would notice any little flaw, and immediately report it John or his secretary. There was a time that because of a botched job, JOHN AND HIS WIFE came out to my house and personally pulled weeds, fixed the problems and cleaned up all my flower beds!! NOW THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Problems were always taken care of, fast and FREE.... in the PAST FIVE YEARS.................... However suddenly, the one service vendor we could trust and rely on, FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS, has suddenly turned LAZY and UNACCOMMODATING, like so many other small businesses lately. Is it the economy that's depressing every business owner, and they've just given up!?? I worked for a small business owner for more than 3 years, and he bent over backwards and LOST PROFITS just to keep long time customers.... John, apparently does not have the same business ethics........................... The last time his workers came out, they DESTROYED MY LAWN! Uneven, over mowed circles, missed spots on the edging and PILES AND PILES OF GRASS CLIPPINGS, EVERYWHERE! In keeping with my habit of calling immediately about problems, fully expecting a immediate ethical business response of "we'll fix it", I walked into my house, my shoes covered in grass clippings, and called John. His secretary took the message and relayed it John. In response, I WAS BLAMED FOR HAVING A "TOO WET" LAWN! We JUST had our irrigation system fixed and adjusted, and there was no difference in the moisture than usual on that morning. I explained to them, I would understand and not be complaining if there were small, scattered piles of clippings, but this morning, there were a lot! I DID notice too, that a "new" guy was mowing, and probably wasn't familiar w my yard, and it wasn't until later that I found my gopher stick had been run over and destroyed, then thrown in the bushes to hide it. Yes, I mentioned this to Johns secretary, and reminded them that the "regular" guy knows about our gopher problem and knows we have traps. You could tell by the evidence left that the problem WAS OPERATOR ERROR... he didn't empty the bag!!! What happens when the bag gets too full? The motor jams and causes CROP CIRCLES and subsequent piles of clippings, EVERY WHERE!! I asked John if they could just come out the next day and clean up, perhaps in between jobs... would take 2 guys, 10 minutes. Right? But, NO!!?? John would have to "charge us to come back out", because, "it costs me money to send my guys out.." For TEN MINUTES JOHN?! I reminded them that we are long time dedicated customers!.... Still, he refused to come out to my house, 2 miles from his office, and spend ten minutes cleaning up the grass clippings.... In the end, he refused to budge, so we did. John Mueller, thank you for your service for the last 5 years, but we would rather patron a company who WANTS TO KEEP THEIR LONG TIME CUSTOMERS AND KNOWS HOW TO TREAT THEM WELL.
