I brought my vehicle in for a specific issue, and they confidently assured me that replacing a sensor and two other parts would solve the problem.I paid over $800 for these repairs. After driving only about 60 miles, the exact same issue returned. When I brought it back claimed the actual problem was a failed transmission.They misdiagnosed my vehicle and charged me hundreds for parts I clearly did not need. Worst experience EVER with the owner. I have been there three times and 2 out of the three terrible. The owner knows my financial status & the second time I had my struts and shocks done there because two months prior I had a local man do them & my vehicle didn't feel right. Chris told me they were installed wrong & he would have his mechanic take pictures & write out a statement because I told Chris before the job was even started I couldn't afford it & I was taking the guy to court & those pics & statement would help tremendously & I know I would win in court with that . Chris led me on for over 2 months with excuses why I haven't gotten the pics & statement. Finally he comes back & tells me since the guy who worked on my car doesn't have a mechanic license he wasn't doing it. I told him its Not his place to tell me who can & can't take to court & him not having a license has nothing to do with him I needed his mechanic report & pics that my struts & shocks were installed wrong. Since Chris never did what he said he was going to do without having proof I couldn't take the guy to court with just text messages so i got stuck with a $1800 bill because of Chris. Third time being screwed my the opener. It's been 4 months took my vehicle in again because they are the only place that excepts my credit card & my card was swiped for 6 months payment instead of 18 months. Chris has been telling me for 4 months it has been fixed or it's taken care of which it's not. He has made me drive there twice to get a copy of my card to fix it & it's still not. Chris only gives me the run around over & over . The day the transaction was made the mistake was caught immediately & a worker cancelled the payment so Chris could fix it but instead Chris cancelled the cancellation & allowed it to go through for the 6 months so now I have to pay off another $1200 off in 6 months on a $991 SSI income raising a child. Chris has done me wrong twice & because of his actions I have been selling my belongings to make these payments that I'm going to have interest on now & stuck with a bill that I would of won in court. took my truck in for a transmission rebuild, the owner told me they dropped the pan and looked at everything and changed my filter and quoted me 7k for a rebuild, took it to another place for a second opinion, they said that muffler and go never dropped the pan to look or put a new filter in, got it rebuilt somewhere else for half of what I was quoted. Came here two summers years ago for a muffler delete. The section that was put in place of my muffler has already rusted away and completely broke off from my tailpipe. After further examination of my tailpipe I noticed that it wasn't even completely welded back on, just an inch long weld on the top and bottom and you can see daylight through it. Even though I didn't want my old muffler, I was never asked if I wanted to keep it or not and I feel like that would be a big deal for some people. The 2 stars is extremely generous and it is only because of decent customer service and the service was fast (clearly too fast because they did a poor job). If you care about your car do not take it here. They clearly use low quality materials and cut corners from my experience. read more

We had work done on our non-profit vehicle. I received a call a week later from Chris threatening to make a fraudulent dispute towards our organization. Chris fabricated a story telling me my employee gave him the wrong credit card number when I personally-over the phone-gave the credit card number myself. I corrected him & he made a comment on his professionalism. He did apologize without asking me how he could make it better; despite, the damage to the relationship was done. Note: I gave him the credit card number again & he ran it incorrectly for a second time until I had to screenshot the card to ensure he could write down the correct numbers. I also had to remind him to send me the updated invoice. Buyers, I would keep a keen eye on how they deal with their invoicing & best practices. I only work with companies not just for their service but for the experience & this experience was handled awfully. read more

This place is where you go if you don't like your car the front desk and the mechanics are disconnected they will say anything to get your money and when I took my car there they said they could fix it my car sat for some days before they can look at it and then when they fix the part my car was making more noise than when I brought it to them and when I confronted them about the issue they had to poker face like they didn't know what was going on I took it back several times with no service to fix the issue and the owner always on vacation somewhere poor quality not a good value and not honest for the love of God do not take your car here. I then took my car to a dealership for Diagnostic and they said the same thing I was thinking that they messed the job up. The dealership fixed some of the parts wrong with the car but they directed me to another business that was more familiar with my General Motors car then after the dealership I had to take it to another place that specialized and getting my timing chain in order because they messed that up fixing a water pump. Took in my 2014 F150 with 400k + miles for a muffler issue. This issue was it was the original muffler and it finally broke causing my truck to sound like a freight train. The shop was busy but offered to make an appointment a few days out. Dropped the truck off, they diagnosed the break and recommended a fix which save me over $200 verses another estimate. Amazing and Honest! Muffler & Go saved us. We were traveling back home from Northern Michigan with at least 4 more hours to go when our brakes started to grind and smoke on the highway. Terrible customer service. Specifically asked for a quote on only what was covered by my warranty. After a week, I was able to go pick it up. Total came to just under $300, when the warranty work deductible would have only been$100. I'm not sure of the legality of doing work without consent from the owner of the vehicle, but even if legal, it's certainly shady business practice. When I refused to pay until I talked to Chris about the extra work and charges, I spent 5 extra days calling and visiting the shop, every time Chris was supposedly not in that day, out of town, or out on a test drive depending on who I asked. Luckily Dan just let me write down my credit card # and said he wouldn't charge it until Chris talked to me about it and let me take my jeep. Chris was supposed to call me by the following Wednesday, and after never hearing from him, I began to call again to no avail. They ended up just charging the whole amount to the CC, and I was forced to pay. TL;DR: This shop has very sketchy business practice, they take forever to get what should be fairly basic work done, and their customer service is garbage, and basically nonexistent. If you still plan on doing business here, steer clear of Chris, he's a real shady guy. read more

They admitted that they had done the damage but told me it was up to me to claim it on my insurance because they don't carry coverage for that kind of accident. 3 weeks ago I decided to try them again. I don't understand the "approved" bad reviews. Personally, I have been a customer for the past 10+ years, and have zero complaints. They have worked on many of my cars. F150's, Ford and Chrysler mini vans, VW, and are about to do a custom exhaust on my project car. This is a very busy shop, and does good and honest work. Some things take longer than anticipated, but if there is ever an issue, Chris is very quick to rectify it, and make it right. Also, he is very fair with his pricing. We have always taken our cars here to be fixed- but our last 2 experiences have been terrible. In August 2016, we took our Ford to have the instrument cluster replaced. It took 8 months to complete correctly. At one point, we asked for the car back while waiting for the part to come in, but they returned the car without any functioning instruments and wires hanging out of the dashboard. We recently took our Equinox to have the sway bars replaced. Within 2 months we were having problems with the car. We took it somewhere else and were told that the sway bars were on backwards. Muffler and go did replace the sway bars at no charge, but we will not be returning. read more

I called this place and got a quote for exhaust and upper ball joint on my jeep. Started off good and got a nice quote. The man i talked to said 280.00 estimate over the phone for "complete exhaust and upper ball joint.". So driving there with a very bad ball joint (ready to snap), I get there at 12pm and checked in. Doubled checked about the estimate price and they again said "yes, around there and that they will get back with me before anywork is done.". So at 6:30pm i get a call from them saying that "We looked at your jeep and it needs 2 upper ball joints and exhaust is very bad and that they need $900.00." So my opinion on this place is. ITS. A. RIP. OFF. They knew my vehicle wasnt driveable and tried to take advantage of it. NO THANKS. I would not deal with this place at all. read more
