Underwhelming is a good way to start. First off the decor inside is pretty decent but the drinks leave MUCH to be desired. I got the butter beer latte which at first glance with butterscotch and caramel sounds great but really isn't. Two size options 12 and 16oz for a hot drink. This place is trying to be like Starbucks with their prices at $7.55 for a 12oz which is insane for using a regular cup of coffee I could make at home the caramel and butterscotch were descent but no where near reminiscent of a butter beer. The cups are also plain and no lids when you have whipped cream on top, would have been nice touch for them to themed due to the price. Overall neat to checkout but overpriced for the experience. read more

This place ended rip being me and my parents favorite place. The coffee was so good and the scones were amazing! There were so many different flavors and they were all delicious. This place is definitely a high traffic one, so be prepared to wait a little bit it's worth it! They currently don't offered seating indoors, but they offer take out and outside seating. Some favorites were the butter beer latte, and the confetti scone. Just the coffee in general was some of the best I've had. Definitely would recommend stopping by in this small town. read more

Love this place! I recently stayed in Jim Thorpe for a little vacation & walked here every morning for coffee. I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan but it's got a very cute vibe inside. I'm sure it's usually quite cozy but unfortunately all the seating was pushed against the walls due to Covid. I tried multiple drinks off their Harry Potter themed drink menu & every single one was absolutely delicious. I got the jalapeño & cheddar scone one morning & it was also very good. Watered down "coffee," broccoli cheddar quiche without flavor or cheese and overall terrible service. I didn't even have it in me to complain after waiting as long as we did for our overpriced lackluster items. The only training it seemed the staff has is how to move slowly and whisper. read more

Was so excited to try this place out. Didn't even have to wait in line, I went later in the day around 5pm. The barista seemed bothered or annoyed to have to make us coffee. It was uncomfortable. Husband and I both ordered off the Harry Potter menu and the drinks were pure sugar but had good taste. Ambiance was nice with the decor but there was a really obnoxious cartoon, I think it was adventure time playing very loudly on a large screen. Probably would not go back or recommend. read more

We've been here twice and both times we have throughly enjoyed. We are not Harry Potter fans but the theming of this cafe definitely makes it more fun, and if you have to wait in a line (which you most likely will), it makes the time pass quicker when you can watch the movie. About the line, obviously if you get there early enough there will be a very short line, but even at 8:30 the line was already to the door and when we walked past a little later the line was down the street. It's quite worth waiting a little bit, but I don't know if it's worth it if it's too far outside, although if you are a die hard HP fan it might be worth it for you no matter how long the wait, cause they have a Butterbeer latte which is apparently pretty good. I got the maple latte and it was very tasty. I also got a slice of quiche and a muffin. The quiche here is to die for, it is so light and fluffy, I don't think I've had a quiche so tasty anywhere else. The muffin was also good, not as notable as the quiche but I definitely enjoyed it, it was warm when I got it but it was too big to finish after I ate my quiche so I saved the rest of it for later. After it had gotten cold it wasn't as good, a little too dense, but amazing when warm, so I guess if you want one but don't think you can eat a whole one plan to split with someone else and save a little money. Although everything here is reasonably priced. The food and specialty drinks do take a little longer to prepare so even after you've ordered you're still going to have to wait a little longer. Seating inside the cafe is almost non-existent. There are a few couches and benches and maybe three tables but it's always so crowded so you will be very lucky if you can actually get a seat. Definitely plan on stopping here if you're in the area and you like coffee and pastries. read more

Awesome place to visit if you are a Harry Potter fan, in fact if you are a fan you owe it to yourself to stop by if you are in town. Decor aside they coffee is fairly pricey and very sugar heavy. I had the pop up potion, and while the flavor was quite enjoyable, it was way too sweet. I imagine part of the price comes from being able to hang out in the shop and watch the Harry Potter movies on the projector screen, but due to covid its currently take out only. read more

This place has had a name and theme change and is no longer called Muggles Mug. It has very little to do with Harry Potter and is more just eclectic stuff that seems random at the moment (anime playing on the screen, a wall with rock musician pictures, etc.) I had some disappointed kids in our group. I wish I had known it no longer really had a significant Harry Potter theme and we would have skipped coming here. Also, there were no working bathrooms , which seemed strange for a restaurant/coffee shop. I thought you had to have a working bathroom to be able to be open. read more

If you like, Harry Potter, you'll love this place. All of the drinks are themed and they play Harry Potter nonstop on their projection screen. They also have an area for trivia and an area to play chess. It's a great chill spot if you're ever in Jim Thorpe. It's a great place to take your friends or family. Service was excellent. The only downside I can think of is during fall festival the line was wrapped around the building. However, if you go mid week or on an off weekend, you should be able to get the full experience. Accio coffee!! I am in love with this town and the people who live here and decided that their life deserved more fun, and color, and wonder on daily basis. I was driving through PA, and specifically stopped here to grab, wait for it, a butterbeer coffee! For those of you wondering, how does that work? Simply put it's a butterscotch flavored coffee. I personally I am a black coffee person, but I just had to try this! Walking into Muggle's Mug so amazing!! The café is covered in Harry Potter themed trickets, and there is this giant projector that was playing HP Prisoner of Azkaban and I think they just play the movies on loop which is just fantastic. Everywhere you looked there is something to make an HP fan smile and get excited!! Now onto the core-Yelpie stuff - the food/drink! I got the iced butterbeer coffee and it was really good! Its not for someone who hates sweet things (so rules out .0005% of people) but for the rest of the world this is a good coffee! I was also really excited because they had vegan dessert options - there was 3-4 cookies and cupcakes and I went for the carrot cake cupcake which was really good! This coffee shop is cute and quaint in a gorgeous small mountain town. The decorations, I think, aren't too over the top or cluttered. At the time, there was soft music playing so it wasn't at all loud. The bakery items were labeled well, and the barista was incredibly pleasant and friendly. He recommended his favorite drinks and made sure to ask if we wanted the entire drink vegan or not to make sure the correct syrups/sauces were used. The entire experience was relaxed and fun and definitely makes me want to return. We ended up staying an extra day here and I'm thinking in the morning we might go back to this coffee shop to try more drinks! read more

My husband and I live in Lehighton so we're very local. We heard about this coffee shop through the grape vine, and being big Harry Potter fans, we had to try it out. When entering, there's a sign on the door that reads "I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good." It's little Harry Potter quirks like this that you'll find throughout the coffee shop that will have any witch or wizard who enters its doors intrigued. Now to the food. The coffee is delicious and they even have flavors such as a butterbeer latte! Their pastries are so good and next time I will have to try the pumpkin. Muggles' Mug is a great new place in Jim Thorpe! First things first, they are dog friendly! We got to bring our old man inside and he had a blast being pet by all of the customers walking in and out. I had an iced coffee, and it was great! The two employees were extremely nice, efficient, and thorough. They had a variety of things you could choose from, but we didn't get anything to eat. There's enough room, so it didn't get crowded at all while we were there. They have a cool, relaxed vibe, with good music and unique decor. The bathroom was clean as well!
