We saw someone getting delivery in the neighborhood and grabbed a menu deciding to try something new. Everything is always delicious. It's on the expensive side. If you live in the Fordham area, delivery might tack on an extra charge. If you go there, it's a cute spot not super fancy. It reminds me of a pizzeria. They don't serve alcohol, but they do have yogurt drinks and other beverages to try. We enjoy the food every time. The chicken tikka masala is our favorite, but the shrimp curry is good too. The food lacks the flavor that I am accustom to having in my Indian cuisine. Normally I eat at coromandel in new Rochelle but figured let me give curry spot a try. It was a waste of 30 bucks. The tandoori was lacking everything especially the grill taste. The chicken tikka taste just like the tandoori same color and everything. The garlic naan was not garlic enough. And the firni was just sweetened milk and old rice. Nothing to ever order from. Don't waste your money here. read more

Terrible experience. I have ordered from the curry spot a few times in the past few months through grubhub. The wait time was always long but I would just order ahead of time. This time I was waiting for almost 1 hour and 15 minutes so I called the restaurant. They told me that my food was sitting at the restaurant and was not going to be delivered because of an issue with grubhub. He could not explain to me the issue, my first question to him was why didn't you call me to tell me you aren't delivering the food. His explanation not his problem and to take it up with grubhub. I had no idea that there was an issue to begin with!!!! I was just patiently waiting for my food at home. It was terrible, and the guy that was on the phone was rude and actually said to me that he would deliver my food (that has been sitting out for who knows how long) if i was willing to pay for it in cash, and inflated the price by $3 dollars. Most ridiculous thing. So I am suppose to pay for my food twice? Don't order from here or at least online order. read more

The best Indian I've had and the chicken dildar curry is my favorite. Also really convenient for me to get too as it's just up the street from me, Love this place. It's a great place to dine in as well. I love the sauces they give too with the somosas. Absolutely deliscious. The orange smoothie drink is also good! Solid Indian restaurant in the heart of Woodlawn. I order takeout almost once a week. The Chicken Tikka is my favorite, but the Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Vindaloo and Jalfrezi are also awesome. I usually pick up my order in store, they're always on time. The place itself is very clean and well kept and the staff is super friendly. This is one of my favorite indian restaurants and who knew I would find it Bronx. The food here is delicious and very well prepared. I came here several times and it has been consistently good. The Chicken Tikka Masala was delicious. I also liked the different chicken curries, samosas and saag panir. The nan bread is perfect and fresh. If I lived closer I would go here at least one a week. Came here last Friday night and its been a while since I've had decent Indian food. The service was medicore, but the food made up for it . Yea the portions are small, but if you order right you can make it work. I reccomend the chicken tikka masala and the saag paneer, but would stay away from the goat dishes. Naan was good. This place is located in a cute area. The food was super good and even my vety crital bf enjoyed every dish he ordered. I had the Mali Kofta, Chana appetizer, and nan with coconut and almonds. All very good and fresh. My bf had the beef curry, meat samosa (which was PACKED w/ meat) and garlic nan. He enjoyed it all very much. They even threw in a rice pudding on the house! Really good. I don't live in NYC so can't compare locally, but have been to Indian places all the heck over, and while probably not number one, I think it held its own. I had the malai kofta (medium) and a pappadum; malai kofta had the best texture of any I've probably had, and very generous pappadum serving, not just the lonely one or two you sometimes get. And three chutneys included, all of which were good but especially tamarind. Rice tasted a bit microwaved, but was okay. Interior kinda grungy (not dirty at all, just a bit bleak) and beer/wine would be nice, but I get the impression it's mostly geared towards takeout/delivery anyway, and the staff were all very nice. And less expensive than other places I've eaten that weren't, you know, NYC -- $17 total, meal + appetizer + tip, and I was so full I abandoned my plan to maybe grab a beer afterwards, so saved me that money too lol. Would return any time to satisfying my Indian food cravings. read more

The Chicken Tikki Masala was to die for...especially when you're dipping their garlick naan bread into it...mouth watering. I have been ordering here for a while but the last couple of times my experience has been absolutely horrible. It took over 2 hours to receive my order. When it was finally delivered, the food was cold and missing half of the items I ordered. When I called the restaurant ( had to call 3 times as they kept forgetting about my issue) the staff was rude, said the delivery guy would be here shortly, gave me excuse after excuse. This is a good place, great if you take into account the dearth of options within the area. The prices are solid and if you get the lunchtime special you get your choice of appetizer (the vegetable samosas and onion bhajias are phenomenal), rice, and naan bread. The naan is very light and fluffy. I never find any of the dishes overly spicy but different people have different preferences. If you're concerned, just ask them to make your dish mild. I've had almost all of the different chicken and vegetable dishes and they are all very good. Still, the chicken curry and chicken korma are my two favorites. Also, don't be put off by the waiter. He can seem kind of gruff and unresponsive but he's actually a friendly guy. I've become a regular at the Curry Spot and he always gives me a complimentary rice pudding or side dish. read more

Came here with a couple of friends on an idle Tuesday for lunch. Our server (the owner?) was very pleasant and attentive. We ordered some vegetable samosas, and they tasted really fresh. He also gave us an order of vegetable pakoras on the house, which was really good. We ordered off the lunch menu (they had a fairly extensive list of options for $7.95) and the entrees were the perfect size for lunch (don't expect any leftovers). I ordered the tandoori mixed grill, but out was mostly chicken and onions, with only one shrimp, one small piece of lamb, and a tiny chunk of salmon. The chicken was dry and tasted old, and it was quite a small portion for $15.95. This place used to be better. read more

So I'm sitting in my car signing paperwork when I see The Curry Spot on the corner and I'm wondering if the food was any good or was it a local joint that might not be so great... I "Google" it and Yelp pops up with all of the great reviews and I decide to go right in and since everyone gave it at least 3,5 stars. It was definitely worth it, the service was impeccable, the staff friendly and attentive, the food was delicious. I had the Chicken Madras, the Chick peas and spinach, garlic naan, and ended the meal with the rice pudding (although there was no space in my stomach). The restaurant was clean and wasn't crowded and I enjoyed watching the music videos of the culture. It was such a pleasant experience and I love Indian food so I'm so glad I took the chance and found the place that's been there 6 years..lol...I took my leftovers and my takeout menu and rolled out of there, I was so full but now I have a new home! read more

I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE NEGATIVE STARS!!!!! Soooo, this place has good food normally, but whenever you order be prepared to wait at least an hour and fifteen minutes for your food. Unfortunately the worst thing about this place is the customer service! It's very difficult to understand people on the phone because of their accents. There's a learning curve and I understand that, but if your customer cannot understand you, there's a problem. Secondly, I ordered this evening and they said my car was declined. That was impossible because there is several HUNDRED dollars on this card, but the man said, perhaps we try another card. I said sure, I'm just hungry. We try another card. He INSISTS that he must hang up and call me back to run the card. So I wait, while throughout all this, I ordered 20 MINUTES AGO and my food isn't being made. Then he finally calls and says there's something wrong with my cards and I should just go to the ATM and they'll still deliver. I tried to explain that the point of delivery was so that I didn't have to leave my house. Then he starts talking over me, while I kept a polite tone and did not insult him at all. He refused to listen and by the point, I was so beyond disrespected that I lost all interest. NEVER ORDER FROM HERE. 3.5 stars depending on the day. I've only ordered from them for delivery and I've ordered several times. i'm half indian and living in the bronx there's not a lot of good indian places nearby. A coworker recommended this place. I love that they deliver and now that they're on grubhub it's so easy. I like the beef korma, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and rasmli for dessert. And the naan, I love naan in general, and it's freshly made. The only disappointment is that the quality of the food can vary. i've had the beef korma and chicken tikka masala several times and the flavor of the sauce (the most important part) has been off once for each dish. I will probably continue to order because of connivence. Although the vegetarian dishes are probably a safer bet. I was raised eating indian meat dishes with naan, so I was disappointed when the quality of the meat dishes varied. The eggplant I got that was very good and I ate it with rice for several days. read more

The staff are always welcoming, chatty and friendly. I have never actually eaten in the restaurant but I have picked up our food quite a few times. It is a welcome option in the neighborhood in which Irish food dominates. Love this place! My roommate and I order from here every payday as a little treat for ourselves. The chicken tikka masala is probably our favorite dish, and the garlic and regular naan are also really good. The aloo mottor gobi is flavorful without being too spicy, and the yellow tarka dal has a nice, rounded flavor. I thought the chana masala was a little bland, unfortunately, and tonight is the first time I've had a dish I really didn't like: the shrimp korma. One of the shrimp wasn't completely deveined (ew!), and the sauce was too sweet and lacked any kind of zest. However, because I'm such a frequent customer I was given a free rice pudding with my order! I'll definitely order from them again, just not this particular dish. read more

I gave this place four stars because I usually enjoy their food and fast delivery. But the last two times I've ordered it took over an hour to deliver the food. The first time I didn't say anything. But this time it was yet again over an hour. When I called to see if the food was en route the man on the phone asked for my address and said yes it is on the way. 10 minutes later I get the call that my food is here. I ordered the Baigan Bhartha which is baked eggplant simmered with green peas and spices. To my surprise, there was no eggplant. None at all. Imagine my disappointment.
