LEHSUNI NAAN (burnt, hard, dry, brittle)
    Brian A.

As a Westchester Foodie I drove cross county to fulfill an Indian food craving. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time but after placing a take out order I highly disappointed. We ordered for two, two garlic naan, samosas, chicken tikka, and tandoori. Given that this restaurant highly advertises their Michelin bib gourmand we thought we would get our moneys worth when we spent over $80 - however this was not the case. The garlic naan was burnt and hard, not soft for me to be able to use to scoop up the curry. The chicken tikka was nothing special, and way overpriced for the quality. The tandoori chicken was very dry to eat and not warm enough. The only item I found satisfactory were the samosas. I would suggest that if you're looking for high-quality Indian food to look elsewhere in the county - I could have eaten a similar meal with the frozen dinners from Trader Joe's. It's disappointing to spend a lot of money and end up receiving a mediocre meal. I hope that this restaurant takes this feedback to make the necessary steps to produce high quality tasty food, otherwise it will not continue to last in our community.

    CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA lunch special

visited in a friday afternoon. there were a few tables for lunch so there was plenty of tables to choose from. We picked lunch specials of fish curry and chicken tikki masala. the chicken was the definite winner. the fish tasted like rehydrated fish so I would skip that if you don't like that texture/taste. The lunch special is such a great value to try a little bit of everything . looking forward to returning to try other dishes.

Nice little Indian restaurant, we went in for early dinner. It got was pretty much full. Luckily we didn't have to wait. The service was good as soon as we got in they serviced us with papad and some dips, they kept checking in and gave good feedback on their menu items and provided with recommendations. Their thali was good mix of a lot of dishes, very good. However, we felt that the mutton kheema was a little too salty that day, and their poori was good but it was a little thick more like a battura another Indian dish.

Still awesome! I just want to say that the lamb Nilgiri korma is one of my favorite dishes in all of Westchester. Theirs is so good! Everything else I wrote in my last review is valid, too. But the lamb Nilgiri korma is a must if you like creamy, fragrant, southern Indian kormas.

Stopped because of their online lunch offerings, though we did have to ask for the specific lunch menu. Had a delicious platter, a great way to try many small portions. The chutney was outstanding. The restaurant is beautiful and I would come back for dinner.

The restaurant is well lit with Indian music playing softly in the background. We ordered the potato samosa, chicken korma, tandoori chicken and garlic naan. We were so hungry we didn't get a chance to take pictures of all the food. We didn't have to wait long for our order, service was excellent and the food was awesome! We will surely come back and try the other dishes.

Lovely lunch at chutney masala bistro. Chicken, tikka masala and potato samosas were fabulous, and service was just as good. Sitting on Irvington's main street, eating delicious Indian food on a crisp fall day was exactly the recharge we were craving.

This is by far one of the best Indian spots I've visited recently. The chaat won my heart with a blast of all the flavors and textures that you'd ever want and expect from "the most popular Indian street food". I sat at the bar since I was alone and looked out at the lovely restaurant that was still quiet since it was on the early side. Plenty of take out orders ....plus it started to get busier as it got a bit later. Papadum was delicious as was the traditional naan and mango chutney. The Chana masala was my main dish and the only thing I'd change is that I'd order it spicier. They can kick things up a notch if you want! Otherwise, it was awesome. Service was great! Friendly, kind and helpful. I'd be a frequent guest if I lived in the area.

Had a lovely experience sitting outside here, eating tandoori salmon, watching the sunset, and enjoying a glass of rose. Food, service, and atmosphere were all phenomenal, definitely coming back.

Deliciously unexpected on the main street in Irvington! Food was excellent, service attentive, nice ambiance. Highly recommend!

What was intended to be a quick pitstop to get some chai on a cold winter evening turned out to be an hour long break at this lovely restaurant, tucked away from the city in the town of Irvington. The restaurant walls capture photo highlights of the erstwhile royal families in the northwestern province of Punjab, the ambience was pleasant and soothing. Quick service, our drinks and appetizers turned out to be delicious! The chai, pakoras and chaat were exactly what I needed on a cold winter evening, a warm hug from the inside.

Indian Food in Irvington Newest entrant to New York's Michelin Guide this year is Chutney Masala in Irvington-on-Hudson, an affluent suburban village in Westchester County. (Literary trivia : Irvington was named in honor of the author Washington Irving who then lived nearby and was still alive at the time of the naming.) The food at Chutney Masala is undeniably Indian, but some options are adjusted to the palate of those uninitiated to Indian spice. I ordered my default favorite in any Indian restaurant, lamb #roganjosh and it was so satisfying especially when paired with the fragrant garlic naan. The mango lassi was a perfect meal ender. I plan to come back to try more of the restaurant's offering. #curious_eater #michelinguideny #westchestereats #michelinwestchester

All other choices we tried paled in comparison, in quality and in flavor. We are back not as often but back.

There is a moderately sized municipal parking lot across the street which you can pay for with the passport parking mobile app. The venue is small with a few tables and appears to be more of a take out rather than dine in spot. The server was very friendly and cleaned off the table frequently of empty dishes. The venue was clean and had Bollywood tunes playing in the background creating a nice and cozy atmosphere. We tried various small plates which included the dhokla, samosa chaat, & chicken samosas. The apps were small in portion but were well seasoned and absolutely delicious! The chicken samosas were served with ketchup and had a slight kick to them. For main courses we tried a plain dosa with sambar and coconut chutney, the butter chicken bowl & a paneer khati roll. The dosa was crisp and beautifully paper thin. The butter chicken was served over white rice & was very tasty. We only wished it had more gravy on it. The khati roll was packed full of paneer and not overly spicy. We loved the dhokla and samosa chaat so much we ordered a second set to take home. The venue offers traditional drinks like masala chai and mango lassi in addition to traditional sweets. The menu is small but fun and great for a quick bite to eat. Definitely looking forward to returning!

Overall, good food, personally I would have preferred more chicken tokka masala, gravy, as she chunks of meat took up most of the small bowl and did give me enough gravy. Add to it, this explanation was offered only when we asked on the Dal. For a top rated restaurant, I definitely expected better service. Food - portion sizes were just right for a weekday meal. The Chicken Tikka was very good - reminded one of authentic Tikka you get in Delhi!! Naan was fresh and soft as well.

Note, I haven't ordered for a few months so I don't know if owners changed or what. I ordered the goat curry, chicken biryani, and vegetable korma... and what a disaster. Now, I ordered through uber which showed a BOGO so why not... But what I got was sacrilege - and I say that as a South Asian. Like, I would be embarrassed to serve this to my family. My mom would be ashamed of me if I cooked like this. The goat curry used to be plentiful and thick now it's obvious they split 1 order into two containers to make it seem like BOGO and it's incredibly watery and thin. The goat isn't even cooked through and the curry flavors didn't penetrate - lazy cooking. The biryani - omg what? It's not biryani. I have no idea what it is, it's some chicken in some curry sauce mixed with some rice and they're busy trying to rip you off with pretend "BOGO" so they split it in two and dump white rice on top. Why even bother offering BOGO?! I will never order from here again. This isn't Indian food and it's definitely not quality. This is a joke. Please save your money.
