A shot of one of the rooms.

A friend happened to be visiting the area and got a room at this place and I happen to live in San Francisco so he offered the second bed in the room so I wouldn't have to cross the bridge after we did our day tours in the area. I'm a casual traveler and drive to a lot of places in California and I was pleasantly surprised at how well maintained this place was. It was clean, rooms were updated and the bedding was more than satisfactory. For convenience, this place is right off Highway 101, so if you're passing through this town and need an overnight place, this place is ideal. It is also near Sausalito and is right in Mill Valley, so it's close to essential shops, businesses and there are tons of restaurants nearby. This place is pretty awesome for a roadside motel.

If I could give it zero stars I would but you have to unfortunately give it at least one star. This place is an absolute hell hole do not stay here. I checked in about 4am I just got off of work. This room was booked for us by our company. When I checked in the lady up front gave me my room key and said "if there is anything wrong with your room I'll switch you in the morning" so I ask her "what's wrong with the room?" And she said "nothing" well now I know why she said that. From mold to cockroaches and stains everywhere to holes on the sheets and anything you can honestly think of. There was smashed cockroaches all over the microwave even on the inside. I left as soon as I seen all this. I don't understand how these places are even open. They need to be shut down this is disgusting. If they allow all of that to be shown I don't even wanna know what else they do. Probably not even wash the sheets cause they don't clean anything else. I'm glad I left. But for real DO NOT STAY HERE. You might catch something here. Do not waste your money. You are close to so much more stuff make the drive and find something better.

Location is amazing ! Our check in was 20 seconds! The price was super duper great! The room is spacious and mostly clean. Air works very good. The location is literally just past the Golden Gate Bridge ! The restaurant across the street is fantastic and then we went to Muir Woods monument (7 miles away) and on the drive there was an amazing spot to see all of San Francisco! Crazy cool !

We came to our room on the first floor (Room 111) and we were actually blown away by the size and space. It's quite simple and cute. I come to this area often and was convinced I found a place I can stay regularly. The bathroom is extremely small but again simple room. No frills. I am not sure I'd stay here again though after the experience tonight. We've had someone above us walking around constantly and it is incredibly loud. We can't sleep. The noise is awful. I'd say next time get a second floor room but I'd feel terrible doing this to someone below me. This person above our room hasn't stopped moving and is banging stuff around after 11pm. It's almost like they've been moving furniture and are in hiking boots the walking is so pronounced. Impossible to sleep. We also were very grossed out by the fridge. It hasn't been cleaned out at all. When stuff like that looks this way it makes you wonder if everything else is being cleaned properly. I guess if you're looking for a somewhat budget friendly hotel and can sleep like the dead this may be a fit for you. But being in town for an important event tomorrow and needing to actually sleep it's just not worth it to me due to the noise. Thin walls and thin hardwood floors unfortunately.

On a recent trip through the area I was just looking for a place to pull off for the night and stumbled upon this cool old school motel which is being renovated and newly upgraded rooms. This motel literally sits at the intersection of the 101 and 1 exchange on the southwest side of the highway. Road noise is definitely an issue if you're a light sleeper, it did subside after about 10 pm but was a constant muffled rumble in the background. This does also make for easy on and off while traveling though and for my purposes it was a good rest and a decent spot to start my next morning with. This is a good option for the area and inexpensive for the area - this is a mom and pop motel and not a fancy chain. Better than some and not as good as others. A good 3 Star motel 00639

    Mold/mildew on inside shower curtain!

I normally don't write reviews especially bad ones. But this one I definitely had to. I checked into this hotel for one night as I was there on business. Had it not been late and I wasn't exhausted I would have left immediately. However I didn't have that opportunity. I know others had an okay experience, however the room that I got was horrible! Again, I don't normally complain but this was just gross! I would suggest staying somewhere else ! If you don't have a choice , check out the room prior to checking into it!!! I will NOT stay there again.

The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always smiling. They also offered complimentary unlimited water, coffee, and tea, which was a nice touch. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we were lucky to have a beautiful view of Mount Tam, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The complimentary breakfast was okay, but I wish there had been more variety and additional options to choose from. It was a nice perk, but expanding the selection would make it even better. The only downside is that the hotel itself feels a bit outdated. I think it has so much potential if the property were renovated, including the hallways, bathrooms, and guest rooms. With some updates, it could easily become an outstanding hotel. Overall, I had a pleasant stay. While I don't think the property itself is quite at a 4- or 5-star level yet, the exceptional customer service certainly deserves 5 stars. The staff truly made the experience memorable. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. The location and outstanding staff make it worth coming back. That said, I would love to see the hotel add a small lobby gift shop with snacks, drinks, and travel essentials to make the experience even more convenient for guests. The property has so much potential to truly stand out with some thoughtful updates and renovations. I would honestly love to renovate the entire place because I can see how beautiful it could become. The complimentary cheese and wine hour was a wonderful touch and something I really enjoyed and others as well. As for the cookies, they were good but cheap, but I think it would be even more memorable if the hotel partnered with a local Marin County bakery to offer fresh, locally made cookies or pastries. Supporting a local business would give guests a true taste of the area while creating a unique experience they'll remember. Those little details are what make a hotel stand out, and guests are more likely to remember both the delicious treats and the hotel that introduced them to them.

Speaking of the deck: a gentle reminder to those who have finished breakfast, have empty plates in front of them, and are still leisurely sipping their beverages while people stand around waiting for a table -- you are not renewing a lease! Please give others a chance to sit down and enjoy their breakfast. The deck is communal seating, not a waiting room. Once you've finished eating, consider letting someone else have a turn. Be kind. Their crib was also available to use free of charge and the pet fee was super reasonable. The hotel itself isn't the most modern and chic, but it was clean, comfortable, and in a beautiful location. The only somewhat tricky part of staying here was the parking - it was about half a block or so away but the parking lot was often quite full and sometimes we had to park at the very far end of the lot which could be a little inconvenient but not the fault of the hotel by any means - just the nature of being smack dab in the middle of the main street of the city.
