My fiancée, mom and I checked in late (stayed in Airbnb nearby the beach). It was a Sunday night and not a lot of places were open. This was the first restaurant we saw from our place and decided to try it. At the time, they had a live band playing. It was too loud and we couldn't hear each other. Our server was patient with any questions we had. Their menu is simple. Pub and grub food, mainly seafood but they do have sandwiches, appetizers and burgers. Their drink menu was simple. Pricing was definitely reasonable. We ordered: Drinks: -Backhouse Pinot noir -Silver Bluff Mexican lager Dinner: -Wild GA shrimp basket w/ side salad -Shrimp and Grits -Fried Flounder with side of mashed potatoes -Clam chowder We didn't wait long. Our meals came out right away. I really enjoyed my salad and shrimp. My mom and fiancée were also happy with their meals. Both couldn't finish and took it back to our place. The experience was good minus the loud music. It's a great addition to the Saint Simon's beach area.

My lady, her mom, and I got in to St. Simon's Island late on a Sunday and were looking for a place to eat. Not much was open but we found this place was hopping so we stopped by. Overall, it was a pretty good experience. The food was good, the service was excellent, and it was fairly laid back. There was a live band playing which I didn't expect on a Sunday night but it was alright. Their libations menu was nice and nicely priced. Food-wise was kinda your standard pub grub with a few tasty surprises. Here's what we had: Drinks: -Backhouse Pinot noir -Silver Bluff Mexican lager Dinner: -Wild GA shrimp basket w/ side salad -Shrimp and Grits -Fried Flounder with side of mashed potatoes -Clam chowder My shrimp and grits were good but a touch salty. My lady and her mom enjoyed their food for sure. This place was pretty packed almost every night so it's definitely a local favorite. They're certainly doing something right for that. I'd consider going back next visit.

We smashed a parking spot right out front & headed in. There was plenty of porch seating, but I'm always cold & wanted to be inside. I overheard the ladies in front of us putting in their names for a wait- they were fairly busy- so we opted to sit at the bar. Ben was our bartender & server and fabulous! John got a beer & I had a bourbon & coke & we ordered. Drinks were up so fast! I swear I blinked and he was setting down my cocktail! Foods came out fast too, I went with clam chowder & John had their shrimp basket. Everything was delicious! John finished the little bit of my soup I had left & I tried his fried shrimp! Lightly battered & cooked perfectly. I would go back again in a heartbeat!

The New England chowder was excellent and we are from New England so we know. The Jamaican chicken tacos were not great. Not very spicy at all with a creamed cheese on top. Would highly recommend the chowder but not the nachos. The service was good and we sat outside, so the ambience was nice.

Wings on their happy hour menu.

Stopped in the other day for happy hour. Rumor has it that it had recently come under new management. Mullet Bay has a gorgeous veranda with lots of umbrellas and shade which was lovely as the day was hot. Well drinks were $4 and wine $5 during happy hour. Very nice deal. We also tried their happy hour wings which were very good. Service was excellent. Definitely a place to go for happy hour. We will have to try their entrees next time.

We went for Happy Hour but the menu online is way outdated and everything is double the prior price or not available. They really need to fix that. Server was pleasant but was selling herself as a realtor and I felt kinda put on the spot. Not appropriate when serving people at a completely different job. She also never refreshed my water (and I had just played tennis so I needed it), and we had to ask the busser for water at least 3 times. A plus was my super strong Woodford Old Fashioned, which I struggled through even on top of food because my tolerance is not good with how little I drink. But I did totally appreciate the flavor and the heavy pour for my money! We tried the fried pickles HH app. They were okay, but there were SO MANY of them. If you like fried pickles you will love it. We struggled to eat that many because, well, it's a ton of pickles! My husband's shrimp entree was okay, not memorable. My son's chicken fingers were chewy in a yuk way. He really wanted to earn dessert but struggled on those things the whole time we were there until my husband just finished them. Thus we skipped dessert (hint: feed customers non-chewy nuggets and they buy dessert). My son did like the Mac n cheese. My Swiss and mushroom burger was very tasty. I'd return for that. All ingredients fresh and flavors coming through in proportions and contrasts expected for that standard pub burger taste. The live music was great. Nice plus on the porch as night fell. My burger, drink and the live music did it for me this time. Hopefully next time my son and husband will have better luck. I'll change my rating though if more entrees prove to be poor choices. The ambiance was good, service not great, but live music, definite plus!

Amazing grilled cheese is so good best one yet fries are so salty and perfect lovvvveeeeee this place

Dog on the table. Cute pup but, people could get deathly ill from such practices.

I loved this place until I saw that they let dogs eat at the table. This is very place you may eat next time. I'm highly allergic to animals and the thought that I could eat at this table is disturbing.

Blackened shrimp po boy and grits. Good portion but bland.

Stopped in a Sunday night. They have happy hour from 4-6 which was a pretty good idea - $3 domestic drafts. Had the blackened shrimp po boy with cheese grits. It was a good amount of food and the bread was soft, which I like. But it was very flavorless. Both the shrimp and the grits were woefully under seasoned, so it was just a bland meal. Our server was pleasantly attentive.

I didn't have anything to eat here but I had a glass of wine on the porch while listening to the band. The porch are is huge and there was plastic down since it was a cool evening. The warmers did a good job of keeping the space comfortable. The band, 3 Day Weekend was great! If you get a chance to hear them play, go! The bar area looked cozy and was popular, too.

This is one of my go to restaurants in the area. Food is always decent. The house salad with the mahi added is my favorite.

Stellar cocktails, friendly service, great views, modern design aesthetic, and incredible food. My only gripe is that they do not take reservations, though even on a Friday night, I've been able to get seated within 20-30 minutes, and you can always grab a drink from the bar and hang out on the lawn while you wait. This most recent visit, I started with the seafood chowder, one of my favorite soups on the island. Creamy, hearty, with plenty of fish, shrimp, crab, and potatoes. Shared a crabcake with my girlfriend--another solid choice, with plenty of crab, not too heavy on the filling, and with a lovely remoulade. For mains, we both had the grilled redfish, a baked potato for me, and mixed veggies for her. Perfectly cooked pieces of fish with a nice crust on the outside while still being moist and tender. Dessert this time was the chocolate pie, which was quite nice, not being too heavy nor excessively sweet. Did I mention the cocktails? I'm a big fan of the smokey mango Fiddlerita (a mezcal take on the classic marg), and the saladito a close second (again, mezcal, but with a little honey and cayenne). The girlfriend enjoys the basil smash (hold the simple syrup, please). Previously, we've tried the artichoke dip, which is also fantastic, shrimp and grits (solid, but Reid's does it better), blackened tripletail over creamy leek sauce (a special, and special indeed), and the key lime pie (excellent). You really can't go wrong here.

Because the restaurant is downtown there is plenty of free street parking spaces right outside the door. There is a bar, with bar seating, The other seating consisted of normal table with hard back chairs, and couches that ran down the side of the wall with tables, and hard back chairs on the other side. Overall, the service was adequate, not good, and certainly not great, but good enough not to stop us from enjoying our night out. I started with what was supposed to be a cup of Tomato Bisque but received and paid for a bowl. Somewhat my fault for not realizing that my serving and what I paid for was large and more expensive than the cup I ordered. With that said, I thought the flavor of the bisque served with, Garlic Buttered Crostini, and grated Smoked Gouda was outstanding. The temperature could have been a bit warmer, but again the flavor was sport on. The wife and I split a very large bowl of PEI Mussels. The Mussels were served in a white wine broth with Shallots, Garlic, Roasted Tomatoes, and Bacon. Honestly, I could and did finish the broth off as a soup. There were quite a few Mussels that did not open, but the bowl was so large, we wouldn't have eaten them anyway. The wife's main dish was the Pan Seared Sea Scallops, with peach and bacon risotto, and fresh Spinach. The dish was finished with an amazing Bourbon Peach Brown Butter Reduction. The scallops were large, the Risotto was great, but the brown butter reduction was the absolute star of the dish. For my main dish I had the Curried Lamb Lollipops, served over Cilantro Basmati Rice, and roasted Tomatoes with an excellent curry sauce. The chops were of good size and cooked to perfection. And please don't even get me started on the fired Garlic Butter Paratha which is some of the best bread I have ever had. My mistake was ordering a side of the Peach and Bacon Risotto similar to what was served with the scallop dish. Without the Bourbon Peach Brown Butter Reduction however, the risotto ate a little dry and had little to no peach flavor. I finished my meal with a bourbon , Mascarpone, bread pudding, which was amazing. The dish was loaded with bourbon which both my wife and I agreed was not completely cooked off. Great dish to finish an outstanding meal. Even with a few minor missteps, the overall flavor of the dishes were so good, I still must give it an overall 5.
