One star for this dealership. Purchased a used 2017 Ford F-150, one owner pickup. That part was about the only good part. Thought the salesperson was ok. I kind of read through the typical BS they spew out their mouth. After test driving the vehicle we noticed the driver side door latch did not always close the door all the way, meaning the car will not move. Pointed it out to salesman and he said their had been a recall on that part and they would repair it for free. There was also a sticker on the windshield that talked about the extended warranty on this vehicle. It all went downhill from there. 1. The sales manager came back and told us that they could not honor the warranty because it had expedited at the end of October. This was the middle of November. I said this is what the stocker says. He said nothing he could do about it. They did knock a whole $500.00 off the price of the truck. He said his sticker person had not gotten around to removing the expired sticker. Told him that should not be my problem but now it is. Very rude individual and terrible service. 2. Decided I would get a bed liner sprayed into the ned of the truck and while it was there get the latch replaced and try to get it all done in one day since I was driving from the eastern shore. After one day I call late the next day and the sales person tells me my truck is ready. I'm like great I'll pick it up the next day. This will now be the 3rd Uber ride between their location and my home. Get there to pick up my truck and door latch had not been replaced. I'm told that it is not part of the recall since it was not broken. I said it is obviously broken since my truck will not move when the door will not close. After a heated conversation with the service department, and dealing with the rudeness of a couple of the twits working there. I caught them saying something behind my back. It was decided they would investigate the door latch. As it turns out they found one "laying" around, which was the one ordered for me truck. They replaced the latch finally. Completely wasted day. I sat there for 8 hours waiting since I was not going to take another Uber back again. Overall, some of the worse service I have ever received. My husband and I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a used vehicle from Mullinax Ford in Mobile, AL. We looked at vehicles from MS to FL and Mullinax Ford had exactly what we were looking for. Our sales associate, Salomon Ramos was super nice, genuine and NOT high pressure. Mullinax has a pricing structure different than most dealerships, eliminating all that haggling. Mr. Ramos, worked with the technicians in the service department and allowed us to check the used vehicle thoroughly. We owned our own automotive repair business for 30 years and wanted to look it over ourselves. At purchase, we were given a 5 day/300 mile warranty. Unfortunately, we experienced catastrophic engine failure days later. What happened was nothing neither we nor they could have foreseen. Don't trust their vehicles. Have them checked by your own mechanic. I found a 2012 Jeep online that I liked. Called them, put a $500.00 deposit on it to hold it till I could drive from New Orleans to Mobile the next morning. When I got there, the vehicle looked perfect. The top of the engine was spotless and the only thing wrong was a small cut in one of the rear leather seats. Then we test drove it. While stopped at a red light it died twice. This made me more curious about the vehicles condition so I looked under it. Sure enough, the undercarriage had built up and fresh oil on it. We went back to the dealership and they put it on a rack so we could see under it with one of their mechanics that was very smart and knew what he was talking about. He told them it needed a new oil pan gasket because it was leaking all the way around, and the rear transmission seal was also leaking. The salesman came back and advised me they could "Take a couple hundred dollars off" to offset the repairs. I had already called a friend at the Dodge Dealership in New Orleans. The minimum cost to do both of those repairs was $1800.00. We told them to take $2,000.00 off and they said they couldn't do that. It also had an open Safety Recall on it. Bottom line.... As a prior Employee of them I always noticed it was more about how they can get the money instead of working on the problem at hand. Communication is key, it's important to notify the customers of what is going is on when your vehicle is being serviced. Also if a customer tells you, they also have a chip in the windshield and this is covered under your extended warranty, why not fix the problem. They completely ignored me although they were told about this and I paid over 6,000.00 dollars for this extended warranty. They returned my vehicle to me dirty. Also I have an electric vehicle, it was given to the dealership on 65% and returned to me on 29%, which is ridiculous, especially when ford says the vehicle charge should remain between 90 and 30%. I had 54 miles on my charge to get home, why didn't they at least charge the vehicle. I have other new vehicles and unfortunately will not purchase from mullinax again, they are very nice when they want your money but when your vehicle has an issue, the service department is ghetto. read more

I don't recommend buying parts here. I'm a parts manager at a dealership in another area, not a competitor. I needed to order a part for a customer and was happy to find it discounted here. Mr. Clark was quick to send me the quote I requested for my finance department, at 4 times the advertised price. When I called to question this, I was told that was in error and would receive a new quote. Needless to say, he wasn't so quick with the reduced quote; I barely got it in time to run it to my finance department by close of business. After promptly giving payment details, I've had to ask multiple times for a receipt. I still haven't received it and it's lunch the next day. After several emails, and phone calls, being put on hold, transferred to several rude people and finally being told oops, I thought I sent that already, I'm still waiting. This isn't how I treat my customers, and if zero stars were possible, that's what their parts department should receive. However, after suffering through 2 stints at their service department (They did the first one wrong and I had to bring it back) I doubt that I'll ever buy anything from them. When you show up for your appointment you are assigned to a service advisor. Then when you ask for that person you find that he is "busy with other customers". Never mind you have 4 others sitting at their desks twiddling their thumbs. If the shop is as unorganized as the service advisor area is I can understand why they messed it up the first time. I called to check the status of the vehicle at 345pm to find out that it had been ready to go. I was also informed that my service rep had went home sick, not sure why that matters. Mullinax Ford is losing business by the masses due to their obvious shift in focus from the customer to their profits. Please train your techs on the value of customers and what they mean to the company. Please train your managers on how to prioritize customers and recognize return customers. Please begin looking at ways to increase your company value through customer service. Please get that service department in check. Poor customer service, after knowing I'd have to drive over 17 hours to pick up a(underwhelming) 2012 f150 and trade in my 2006 mb CLS500 the dealer was well aware of any and all issues and potential issue with the said trade in vehicle and purchase price was agreed upon( with trade allowance agreed on as well) deposit was paid (expenses incurred) trade vehicle was loaded and driven 8.5 hours one way to pick what I thought was going to be my new truck( even after seeing the vehicle and having somewhat buyers remorse) I proceeded to agree to the deal cause you know I'd drove almost 9 hrs and didn't want to back out of the deal as the sales rep was amazing( Jerry Albritton is his name) so along we went to finalize the deal have to count out a fairly large sum of cash as that was my preferred method of payment, after signing all paperwork counting cash, writing checks, unloading my trade, getting the keys to what I thought was my new truck the sales manager Brandon Dana comes rushing out of the dealership to try and essentially rob me of $1500 saying my trade isn't worth what they'd estimated even though vin was provided and I was totally forthcoming with any issues vehicle had, after Brandon proceeded to tell me there wasn't any more wiggle room and basically saying no way he could work with me unless he swindled me for $1500 more, needless to say I loaded my mb back up and told them no way I'd be robbed in such a manner! Moral of the story Brandon needs a few classes in customer service, shame on you mullinax for hiring such a class act. Buyers beware!!! They have a 2 star rating for a reason!! I would give a minus one star if I could! My story goes like this....I purchased a 2018 f150 3.5 eco boost from them about 9 months ago because they had the only 3.5 eco boost with a 8ft bed and I live in Florida. So they charged me an additional 500$ to put it on a flat bed and ship it to me. When the truck arrived I did a quick walkthrough and instantly noticed that it tons of rust on the undercarriage then the brakes were also faulty...it still shakes a little when you use the breaks. I called and talked to Lynn Wyatt and explained what the deal was and he said he would talk to his boss..Boss said he would split the difference with me to have the undercarriage sand blasted and re sprayed but couldn't do anything about the brakes. I now know that I shouldn't have bought a truck sight unseen but trusted them when they said that it was properly inspected. I was clearly not and now its been in the shop for over a month because there is a huge recall on the f150's because the phasers are going out and another one because the 4x4 has issues and the valve cover gasket is on a 2 month back order. I only put 4k miles on the truck and now I cant even use it. Mullinax will give you great lip service and tell you that they are looking in to it after they get caught up on there last years stuff. There is no way they did a proper inspection and just try to push inventory out and over the curb! I went to Mullinax on Thursday 06/15/2018 to get the works service on my Fusion. When I got it back the A/C did not work correctly, it appears the glove compartment had been removed as the items in it were either not in it or completely rearranged they claimed they were looking for the key lock to rotate the tires. I doubt this as they could have asked me for it and second you are a ford dealership I'm sure you have the key lock as a basic tool. They also said nothing was wrong with the A/C But now when you turn it on it only comes on at the lowest setting. Upon taking it to a different shop it was discovered with me standing and watching that yes the glove compartment had been removed the vent on the passenger side was not put back completely into place the lower glove compartment bolts were missing. I then had them check out the rest of the work mullinax performed. It was discovered that the oil pan drain bolt head was rounded off. likely as a result of use of an improper tool being used such as an impact gun. Now I will have to pay to have that removed and replaced if it can be, or possibly replace the oil pan. Mullinax claims it has gotten 2 president awards for customer service. This just shows Ford motor company standards for service are not very high. Do yourself a favor take your vehicle somewhere else for service, you may regret it if you don't. read more

Worst car buying experience ever. This dealership literally refused to accept a cash payment in full for the purchase of a vehicle. I was told they would accept a personal check if I could prove the funds were in my account. I showed up with a personal check from a relative (with the relative present) yet Mullinax refused to accept it since the personal check was not in my name. I felt this was unreasonable; however, I asked what they "would" accept. They said a cashier's check. I came back the next day with a cashier's check (they stated cash was not an issue) and again, they refused to accept it simply because the cashier's check was in a relative's name. Why that matters I have no idea as it is CASH. At that point, I simply walked away and said they could keep the vehicle. I could have jumped through hoops to try and get a cashier's check with my name on it but at that point I was frustrated, disappointed in their lack of respect and cooperation so I elected to walk and they lost an easy cash sale. DO NOT GO HERE!! We called Mullinax after being blown off for 4 weeks by World Ford in Pensacola. We got a salesman named "Blayde". I will say he was a super nice guy to deal with. We explained our situation and the truck we were looking for and that we were preapproved through our financial institution. We were in the market for an F350 or F450. They had two F350 that had the options we wanted. Blayde was very quick to send us pictures and the "out the door price". We went to our bank and had our pre approval based off of those numbers. With a blank check in hand not to exceed $70k+, we called Blayde before we drove all the way to Mobile to get our truck to make sure there would be no surprises. He then informed us (after we made it clear in the beginning that we would be financing through our bank) that if we didn't finance through Ford, we would lose a $750 rebate. Our check could not exceed the amount he first told us. After much talking, frustration, and searching for ways to make up this $750, he informed us that "Mullinax can not budge on this price, that is their policy. The price you see is not negotiable". We could not believe that this dealership was going to lose a $70k+ sale over $750!!! We even asked about the Military Rebate and were told that since my husband had served 15 years and got out 13 months ago, he was not eligible. THIS IS NOT TRUE! If you read the fine print, veterans that have separated within 24 months are still eligible. We were then passed off to the sales manager (Bernie or Bennie, I'm still not sure of the guys name). He called us the following morning. This guy was so "meh" about the whole situation. He knew hardly any of the details of our situation with Blayde and basically treated us like he could care less if we bought through them or went elsewhere. Once again, after much talking and explaining our frustration, he said he could not find a way to make up this $750. I told them at this point that I didn't want to deal with a dealership that tells the customer one thing and then can't make things right. They were very adamant that no negative review be left about Mullinax but to blame it on Blayde. They don't want the Mullinax name smeared in any negative way. Both of them kept saying how many "thousands of positive reviews they had and I should read them because they are an amazing dealership with great customer service". Can't even describe the level of disappointment we had at this dealership!!! We found the truck my husband wanted, the F450 with all of the options, in Tampa at Brandon Ford for slightly cheaper. Call and speak to Darius at Brandon Ford. He went above and beyond to make this deal happen in 24 hours. He is meeting my husband at the airport to pick him up in his brand new truck! read more

Now as far as the Owner/Managing Partner Alvin Davis, he should have stayed at Mike Shad in Florida where customer service doesn't matter he stated all these things would have been done but when I got there everything had to be re-explained because he failed to convey! In the end I was taken care of and promises were upheld, all except the greeting he could really careless who buys cars from them, special or not! ***** Currently in talks with the dealership to come to a resolution i will update accordingly once that has been completed. *** Original Review will remain as follows because this is how it was, they still need to make strides to improve, if I remove this completely it is if it never happened and that is not the case!----Service was great in the service Department. The company as a whole is terrible, I will never recommend them, I had a car shipped in from another dealership and PAID A PREMIUM price for it because it was limited edition. Limited Edition meant scratches on the paint, a second hole drilled into the rear bumper cover for the license plate because the incompetent license plate installer didn't use the required hole! Seriously something as basic as that, I wasn't offered any compensation for any of the above issues, THE BUMPER UNPAINTED ALONE IS OVER $800 yes it is a small hole but it is MY car I should be the only one putting holes in it. The car was shipped without the cover on it and had little scratches everywhere, they weren't noticeable at night but as soon as I got to the gas station and the lights showed everything and the dealership had closed for the night! I had to return to pick up my second key because it wasn't shipped with the car, they did offer to pay for gas for me to drive back to Mobile. My salesman Bennie told me I would receive a call Monday or Tuesday from Mr. Alvin Davis and that has yet to come to fruition, 2 weeks later still nothing. I was told I would receive something in the mail from the owner, that was a lie, I received a thank you letter from the salesman to my address back home in Ohio and I am stationed in Mississippi. I called one day and asked why my title paperwork isn't ready 10 days after I bought this $50,000 car, they said it can take a while sir " we sell over 200 cars a month so it takes a while" I have 10 days to get my tags in Mississippi, the law doesn't allow me a grace period outside of that, I had to complain to the finance manager so he would write me a 20 DAY temp tag. Bottom line they sell over 200 cars a month, they DON'T NEED YOUR BUSINESS, take the drive to Estabrook Ford in Pascagoula and ask for Sean Varone. I apologize for the long rant, Bennie is a nice guy, I will never do business with Mullinax, any of them! Apopka started the issue with the transfer from Florida, Mullinax Mobile didn't solidify it. I included Alvin Davis on all the Correspondence that was pertinent to the issues, never once did I get a replay from Mr. Davis, everything was second hand from Bennie and he made it seem like he was too busy to address the little guy! I am a man of my word, I paid my $1000 deposit, I held up my end, Mullinax didn't hold up theirs. LESSON TRUELY LEARNED my mistake for ever going back after my first bad experience. read more
