Tony was able to quickly get us another notarized translation and provided guidance on how to get the Apostille from Secretary of State office which can only be done in Sacramento or LA. He is able to do the Apostille on your behalf but because I needed a quick turnaround it was faster for me to drive to Sacramento drop off the documents and get the Apostille done and pick up later. No identification of what was off, no specific provision he objected to, no questions about my ID or the underlying transaction. Just refused. Took the same document to another commissioned California notary that same day. They reviewed it, verified my ID, administered the oath, and notarized it without any issue. Two visits, two trips back to my attorney for revisions he requested, and ultimately a vague refusal with no actionable feedback. A notary's job is to verify identity and witness an oath. If specific concerns exist, communicate them clearly so they can be addressed. "Something seems off" after you've already made the customer revise the document once isn't professional -- it's wasting their time.
