We saw signs for a free whiskey tasting in the bar area so came up. Host was super friendly as we asked about that and then went to that. Afterwards, we asked to see the menu and decided to eat here for lunch.. I was super hesitant because being a tourist place restaurant. We got a seat outside and had a small view of the waterfall through the trees. Our server was very friendly and got our drink orders quickly along with our appetizer. Already was having good impressions before the food came out. The stuffed mushrooms came out and were incredibly delicious. Cooked perfectly with a lot of filling in them. The flavors worked well together too. For the main, I got the whole trout and it was amazing too. The fish was cooked perfectly and the butter lemon sauce was great. Even the skin was tasty. I ate more than I needed too and was stuffed after. Now, this wasn't the best food I've ever had but being a restaurant at the bottom of a heavily tourist waterfall it was fantastic. Too heavy on the Balsamic which made the spinach soggy when paired with the grilled onions the texture was not what you're looking for in a fresh salad. The mushrooms and hazelnuts paired nicely but the salad needed something sharp or creamy like a goat cheese to balance out the heaviness of the greasy onions. It wasn't very filling either which was disappointing for $17. My husbands mushroom burger was decent but too greasy. The Multnomah Falls restaurant is a really great spot to visit after your hike. It's very beautiful inside and it gives you a feel like you're away from all the crowd. At first I was unsure of this place as sometimes restaurants near tourists sites are expensive and bland. This was not the case- the food was so delicious! I had the salmon with wild rice and seasonal vegetables (broccolini in this case) and it was so good! The drinks were also very delicious. To top it off, the price was great too. The staff were also very attentive and friendly. It made for a great spot after you have hiked back down. read more

We visited the falls in late Oct'25 for a short anniversary trip to PDX. This was our last stop before the airport on our way home, a drizzly chilly day. Initially hesitant to grab food, we feared it would be tourist-trappy, mediocre or pricey, we were SO WRONG! The historic lodge is GORGEOUS. The dining room was charming, warm from both fireplace & ambiance. The dining room wasn't busy, and we were sat promptly and well-attended to. Our service was impeccable! The menu is amazing and we were offered the choice of both breakfast & lunch as we came in at the saddle times between both. We genuinely had a hard time deciding, both options offered delectable choices. And after a damp hike up the falls, we were famished. Irish coffee and lots of food followed! We had the salmon stuffed baked mushrooms and seafood chowder for appetizers, and hubby had both the French toast & French onion gratinée, très cultivé, non? Strange combo, I know, but both menus had SO MANY option that all sounded delish. I buckled and ended up getting the Reuben sandwich only because 1. I couldn't decide & 2. had been in the mood for one, but regret not getting the salmon melt. Not that the Reuben was bad, it wasn't - but it was a typical Reuben and I bet the salmon melt would have been amazing. The answer to is there such thing as too much salmon is NO. We left full, warm & in awe of such as sleeper gem at the base of the biggest natural tourist attraction in the PNW. Oh, and as Reno natives, we were absolutely STUNNED by the prices! This brunch/lunch would have been double the price at home. Overall, everything we tried was beautiful and the Lodge itself is a show stopper. MULTNOMAH FALLS LODGE RESTAURANT is a great reason to stick a while longer at Multnomah Falls! We arrived at the landmark at 8am to gaurantee parking and to grab a bite to eat before we explored the falls. Must try the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Bisque combo called Three Cheese & Roasted Garlic. It was recommended by our friends. Sadly, it wasn't on the breakfast menu (it's on the Lunch/Dinner menu), but we asked our server who then checked with the kitchen. To our delight, they were able to accommodate our request. It was the breakfast of champions! LOL. Between the host, our server, and the kitchen, customer service was excellent!! Our table was in the atrium, with a slight view of the amazing falls! We were one of the few customers who arrived early, so it felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The lodge is celebrating their 100th year in 2025!! Being that it's a historic lodge, the interior feels nostalgic. The fireplace brought warmth and coziness to the main dining hall. The restrooms are clean. Spending time here made me feel so happy!! My friends and I stopped here after visiting the falls on our way back to Eugene. We got to the restaurant around 3pm and left around 4:30pm. There was about a 15 minute wait so we sat and chatted while we waited. We were then taken to a table in a big open room that looked out at the falls. The windows were fogged up so we could barely see the waterfall but I'm sure it looks lovely when they're clean! We placed our orders and continued to wait. I got a plain hot chocolate and the mushroom burger with onion rings. My friends got the salmon melt and the salmon entree. My burger was alright but wasn't anything to write home about. The patty was a little tough and the bun was really chewy. The onion rings were pretty good, we all enjoyed them. My friends really enjoyed their salmon meals and cleaned their plates. Our server was friendly and attentive. The host was also friendly. The restaurant seemed clean and was beautifully decorated. There was a lot of seating and it wasn't super busy since we were driving through off hours on a Monday. There is plenty of free parking by the highway and there's a restroom both in the restaurant and below it. This was a nice place to eat when we were starving. The atrium with the waterfall view was closed due to the 100th anniversary event, however the large windows at the front provided prime time people watching during our meal. The service was just average. Our waitress wasn't overly friendly but did provide the bare minimum service of taking our orders and refilling our drinks once, after we asked. I don't usually expect over the top food at tourist attractions because the attraction usually distracts people from subpar food, but I was wrong about this restaurant. The food was surprisingly good! I had the northwest salmon hash and it had all of the PNW vibes I needed to enjoy this trip. Hashbrowns nicely cooked, sunny side up eggs very delectable, and I had hot cider to drink which added to a nice fall vibe. I brought a friend who had never enjoyed brunch at The restaurant at Multnomah Falls. It was only my second time but boy, we sure enjoyed the ambiance, location, scenery and of course, the food. the choices were exceptional. We have never had pecan stuffed French toast, yummm! Salmon, shrimp, bacon, just crispy enough, along with so many other items. Oh yeah, the asparagus and cheese was amazing. Desserts were out of this world. And bottomless Mimosas for a measly $10 extra made the meal. our server, Breny, was such a sweetheart with the best smile. She seems to love her job and took very good care of us. Angel took our payments and lived our chatter when he brought them back...to the wrong people. he had a great sense of humor any way. We will go back again for sure. We ordered the lodge club sandwich with fries and fish and chips, and it was all absolutely delicious. We went again during the second week of January, and the food was horrible. I ordered the same lodge club sandwich. It was just mostly bread; 1 paper thin leaf of iceberg lettuce, a little turkey, mayo, and old, hard, chewy bacon. The fish and chips was just as dismal; the pieces were much smaller, chewier, and burnt. It was such a shame. I don't like really crowded places, so it's disappointing that in order to enjoy good food, we just have to come back during the super busy season. Service is consistently great, however. read more

Menu is varied enough with brunch options still offered around 1130, then plenty of salad/sandwiches/entrees available on a separate menu. Service is friendly but goodness it took the kitchen over 20 min for 2 salads to come out, when there were maybe a handful of tables seated. Food tasted ok. Wife got the steak salad and it was prepared well. I got the salmon salad and it lacked proper seasoning and was slightly overdone. Not sure where the high marks are coming from unless our experience was completely different than all the others! We were there on a cold Thursday so not too busy yet there was a 20-30 minute wait. Perhaps they were short staffed? Upon being seated, we noted there were 3 sections open with 4-5 tables seated in each and 2 wait staff per section. Definitely not the appearance of understaffing. Our server barely made eye contact with us as she ran up to the table, muttered something quickly, ran away, ran back, rushed us through ordering then ran away again. I mean literally, practically running! We noticed all other servers doing the same thing so it's definitely a management issue. We saw her 3 times during our late lunch and one of those times we had to flag her down. The kitchen staff needs to take note of the dining staff and perhaps hurry things up a bit because the food took forever! We started with the stuffed mushrooms, which were good, nothing great but gluten free so had to try them! The grilled cheese was not really grilled, maybe lightly toasted, the cheese wasn't even melted! It was grated cheese still in it's grated form! Then, not sure how pork shank can be dry but it was, thank goodness for the Korean sauce it came with! After visiting the Falls, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by the restaurant for a nice lunch before heading back to our hotel. This review is for the bar service and the area. It was a quaint little bar area since for the dining room, it was a 45 min wait. Note that bar service area is for 21+. My boyfriend and I got seated right away and we were quickly served some drinks and water. I ordered the Salmon chowder bread bowl and my boyfriend ordered the chicken teriyaki with rice. He also ordered a cup of the tomato soup (not pictured). I enjoyed my chowder and ate the entire thing! I like how they toasted the bread too! One of the best bread bowls I've had. My boyfriend like the chicken teriyaki but when it first came out, there wasn't enough sauce for the chicken and rice. It was an easy fix after asking for some teriyaki sauce. We waited a bit for a waitress while other guests were seated and their drink orders taken while we waited for our waitress to take our drink orders. To put it simply, Multnomah Falls Lodge Restaurant is not bad... but it's not great either. It is just okay. First, I want to make it clear that my rating has nothing to do with the disastrous parking situation as that is something they really can't control. So let's start with the ambiance. It's awesome. We went on a Monday with a Noon reservation so the seating was a plenty. We even got seated with the waterfall in clear view! Service was a mixed bag, unfortunately. The greeters were friendly and nice, and our server was also friendly and nice but they were not very attentive and extremely slow. Also, things were missing and we had to ask for it. For example, we ordered the calamari appetizer that never came, and they didn't provide stirring sticks with our coffee. They repeatedly apologized, stating that they had multiple tables across two different rooms so they had to do a lot of running around. I totally understand... but to completely forget an appetizer is kind of a bummer and not a good reason (especially since another server was doing a great job hustling and bustling). We made sure the calamari wasn't included on the final bill (it wasn't) and they gave our coffees for free to make up for it, which, sure, is cool... but it's also the cheapest thing on the menu. The food we did get was pretty good. I really wanted the cheeseburger but ended up getting the trout with rice and veggies (as well as a tomato soup). I'd recommend it if fish is your thing. My wife got the salmon with rice and veggies (as well as a French onion soup), and she too recommends it... again, if fish is your thing. I just really wish I had a chance to try their calamari... Lastly, this place doesn't serve Coca-Cola which, as you know, is a red flag for me. I think one thing that made up for it was that you can walk up to the falls after (or even before) your reservation. That part is completely free. It is really stunning to see in person but even for a Monday, it was still quite crowded with tourists. In the end, it's safe to say that I'll never go back. Not because the restaurant experience was mediocre but because the price, the drive, and the parking situation is just not worth it. I think if you've seen the falls in person once while driving past it, that's truly good enough. read more
