They offered me a dessert due to the inconvenience but I never received that so that was kinda sad too. But the steak was delicious. The veggies were pretty cold quick. Regardless, staff was amazing! Located inside the Embassy Suites at Portland Airport, this is one of the very few options for dining near the airport. It needs some updating like the whole hotel, but the ambiance it good. In the lobby, there are live plants and a small waterfall system that enhances the restaurant decor. There are a few tv's to enjoy watching a ball game or local broadcasting. This restaurant is also the location for the hotel happy hour each evening, so it does get very crowded from the cruise ship passengers booked there to the vacationers passing through. In Oregon, it is a strict law that NO children are allowed in a bar area, so it is nice that it is adult only. The menu is good, though a little small in options. We were not really that hungry, so we just enjoyed a few drinks while watching college football games. read more

Just ate at Waters at the Embassy Suites near the airport as there were not many choices close to my hotel and I was tired from traveling! It was BAD I ordered the Columbia river salmon which came with roasted potatoes, asparagus tips and charred tomatoes in a dill caper cream sauce for $46. The salmon was ok half of the potatoes were undercooked there were two Asparagus tips and three supposed charred cherry tomatoes, not really charred, and the salmon was a small piece considering the $46 price tag. However the killer was the supposedly caper dill cream sauce! I would not feed it to my cat ! There was no dill flavor whatsoever, two capers, no salt it was atrocious. I suspect they used old dried Dill since Dill is a fairly strong herb and hard to miss. I complained, they offered to make something else I declined I was very tired from my business dealings and wanted to move on. I eat out a lot when traveling so I tend to be picky but considering the price/quality it was atrocious! We have dined here before while staying in the hotel. The food here is usually good but each time the service had been lacking. Once before we left after sitting for 20 minutes and never being contacted. On this visit we had no other options due to a snowstorm. Again the service was poor. We were told by the manager that this was the waitresses first night. It took about 30 minutes for our food which we expected due to it being busy due to the storm. It was wet and pouring outside, we had eaten all week like royalty, and my wife wasn't feeling up to it... so my son and I decided to stay in house to eat. The menu looked decent enough, plus it was Prime Rib special night. The picture of scallops in the lobby looked so inviting. But having stayed at the Embassy PDX for 3 nights already, it wasn't easy to ignore that Waters wasn't drawing a crowd. But I thought to myself that whenever we have dinner out at a Hilton, it's been good. Got married at one! So I told my son I'd be downstairs investigating the Managers Reception. You know, just to make sure the choices of beer were ok. The day before, the Bud Light was flat. Couldn't figure out why they were pouring from a pitcher instead of out of the tap. Maybe they had to run it over from the other bar in the lobby. When I stayed there 10 years ago, that bar held the Managers. Anyway the IPA on tap was good. The munchies provided weren't so attractive, some veggies with dips, spicy pretzel mix and very fresh tortilla chips and salsa. But hey, it's free. So sitting there for 45 mins, I did a in depth study of the IPA, I looked over at Waters and saw like 2 tables occupied. This is at 6:30 or so, prime time for dinner. I really felt like cruising through and checking out their plates. But my son came down and I figured, let's just go, it's gotta be edible. We walked in from the Reception side and were immediately greeted and seated. Very nice staff. Our waiter came and we ordered calamari, a Prime, and the scallops. The calamari came out pretty fast and was delicious. Even though it was served with a drizzle over the dish, it stayed crunchy. Then the mains came out. Nice. The scallops were just a little under done but were seared perfectly. Love that texture. Then we split the prime which was really done well. Personally I like when they offer up some real mans horseradish, but their creamy stuff was ok. The roast itself was good. Overall I found Waters well worth the price. In fact they even had 10% off coupons all over the lobby. Another thing that raised my food radar. You don't usually see that in big hotels. I actually spoke with some of the staff after the meal and expressed that if not for the free grinds and booze 20 feet away, they should be packed. They said thanks but that's as much a ES policy as the free breakfast. Good enough. You know I don't give out 5 stars all the time and this time it's because of the over the top sound of the waterfalls in the courtyard. I was wondering about it and then realized that it is a business hotel and you really can't hear any other conversations around you, so I guess there is a reason. In fact if there wasn't a constant sound, voices would reverberate right up to the top rooms I bet. Anyway, Waters is a go. Especially when you can get a good slab of Prime for $26. Our party of 3 decided to order the exact same cut of beef. But with different degrees of doneness, which we thought was pretty risky. But each steak was cooked to perfection ! Great job team.One of the best steaks i have been served! A problem when i got back to SoCal. I walked away that night without my needed receipt and called the next day to request it. No problem! I'm not sure if it was because I was starving and the staff decided to let me have lunch even though it was past the 1:30pm closing time but wow wow wow the food I had at this hotel restaurant was amazing! I was working an event at the hotel and it finally slowed down enough for me to go grab something quick. It was about 1:45pm and I thought perhaps they had closed down for lunch already (that what the sign said) the host saw me though and was like we can accommodate you don't worry ! (Great customer service). I said I was in a rush since after I eat I have to go back to work and he rung up my order while I waited for my food to come out. I order a Kobe burger with bacon added to it. I asked for medium but when it came out it was more medium well. Overall the burger was huge and delicious!! Meat was seasoned very well. The bacon was plentiful and crispy. The white American cheese and the garlic aioli was very good and the fries were nice and crispy. I scarfed down the burger it was that good ! We were looking for a restaurant to enjoy a nice dinner with family before a redeye flight back to the east coast, and Waters came up as a option in the Embassy Suites by the airport. I selected Waters because they had halibut on the menu, a dish I enjoy best on the west coast. When we arrived we were a little discouraged due to the construction in the atrium area of the hotel and it was unclear where the restaurant was. We were directed to a "please wait to be seated sign" and informed there was only one server working the entire restaurant so we patiently waited about ten minutes before we were seated. Once we were seated though service was impressively fast for sharing our server with at least a dozen other tables. We had water and our orders in quickly and ordered a nice bottle of wine to share. As I had planned, I got the halibut fish and chips and my family got the ribeye with blue cheese butter and the prime rib. We were happy we happened to dine in on a Wednesday night, the only night the prime rib is offered. Both the beef dishes were perfectly cooked, tender, and delicious. My fish and chips was okay. The fried fish had much more breading than actual fish, but it was served with a nice tarter and fresh cut french fries that were enjoyable. Not sure why this place doesn't have more diners. I've been here 2 or 3 times, and the food is solid, if a bit on the pricey side. But it's a hotel restaurant, so that's pretty typical. They don't seem to have specials, but again...it's a hotel restaurant. But it's a very good hotel restaurant. I've had the prime rib, the halibut dinner and the diver scallops dinner, as well as the mushroom ravioli and Caesar salad. All were very good. Not exactly culinary wizardry gourmet restaurant good, but more like high-end cruise ship restaurant good. You know, they have a few things they do very well, and they stick to providing those things consistently. The service was also very helpful and extra friendly, probably owing to wanting to make their few customers consider returning. The manager came over a few times to make sure we were happy. We were. During the week I stay in nearby in Parkrose, and the thing is, while Portland has no shortage of gourmet-ish restaurants, the same can NOT be said of Parkrose, which can be charitably referred to as the zip code that awesome food forgot. So when I want a hearty meal that's on the high-end side of the food spectrum, but I don't feel like hiking over to Alberta, or well, anyplace else in Portland, where people are tripping over themselves to bring you fancy, delicious food...this place is a good option. You won't find food of this caliber at the Cascade Station mall, that's for damn sure. read more

We ate at the in house restaurant and was not disappointed. This restaurant could stand alone but the service was exceptional. Our waiter was named Indir and he was awesome. Even when my seven year old son spilled his drink he kept his kind gentle composure and moved our table. He also gave us free dessert which is always a plus. Restaurant manager Esad checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. The day before on my birthday he had a dessert sent up to my room. That was a great surprise! I had the crab cakes and the halibut and both were delicious. I will be back before we head home to California. read more

This restaurant deserves the many 5 star ratings you see here. The food is truly delicious, and the wait staff are all attentive and friendly. The manager even shook my hand on the way out! We tried the sea scallops and the filet mignon. Both were cooked to perfection and the risotto that came with my scallops was absolutely delicious. I can't recommend this place enough. The restaurant is in the middle of the Embassy suites hotel, situated in the middle of their water feature. So, the ambiance was very relaxing. I stayed 6 nights at embassy suites. Ate here twice. The last night/third time I ordered food for my room. Did not have silverware so I walked back down to ask for plastic silverware. This incredibly rude waitress/hostess told me next time just go to the front desk it's quicker that way because they're busy at the restaurant. Unreal #1. It wasn't busy #2. It takes 10 seconds to reach for the plastic silverware and hand me one. This was 8:20 pm on 6/23/23. Never had more of a rude interaction in my life! read more

The food and service were outstanding. My wife and I ordered the special which was a petite tenderloin with Yukon Gold mash, wilted spinach and a stuffed lobster tail. It was all amazing. We also ordered the cheese board. It had some very tasty items on it, but we both felt it was a little pricey for what you got. If they upped the crackers from Keebler Clubs and had a little bit nicer bread, it would have been perfect. Overall, a very nice experience, and we felt our server (Javier) and the general manager (East Coast Fellow) were both awesome. They were great and both did their best to make our dining experience the best it could be. We would love to visit Waters again. Visiting the area and was looking or a good dinner. Stumbled on this place and we weren't disappointed. The wait staff was friendly,attentive and helpful when deciding between the options.. The food (scallops with mushroom risotto and ribeye steak with mashed potatoes) was very fresh, almost farm to table like with the little carrot and asparagus on the plate. It is conveniently located inside the Embassy Suites hotel on 82nd, near the airport if you might also need somewhere to stay and has great ambience with the waterfall nearby if you sit in the bar. The chairs there could use a little upgrade, but they don't ruin the dinner in any way, they are just awkward to sit in. read more

I've been staying at this Embassy Suites for a couple years now and always plan on eating at Waters Bar and Grille. Indir is one of the staff and offers some of the best service I've seen. He remembers your previous visits, usually what you ordered, your previous feedback and offers recommendations. The food is fantastic. Had the surf and turf special last night and it was amazing. Dinner here was terrible (GM will understand this: gewoonweg vies, niet te vreten). I ordered an appetizer, salad, and their special rib eye, medium rare, with green veggies no potatoes. First comes the salad with dressing on the side. Here they put blue cheese crumbs on the bottom and dressing on top so when you turn over the little cup everything splashes out at once. After the salad, the appetizer is delivered. (Notice reverse order here) The steak comes next. How they cook it is a mystery. The fat appeared not to be cooked, and the meat was almost an ashen-gray color with no red fluid usually associated with meat anywhere on the plate. Embassy Suites are great.......they have a managers reception everyday in the lounge between 5:30 & 7:30 with FREE cocktails and snacks!! Yes people, I said free! We always tip the bartender well and have a great time just relaxing before dinner. The snacks are pretty basic, nacho chips, salsa, pretzel kind of fair, but hey........complimentary is always welcomed! We have eaten dinner most nights at the restaurant and the service and food has been excellent. They have slimmed down the menu but the choices are still good and we have enjoyed not only our meals and service but the lobby location beside the water streams filled with Koi fish are relaxing as well as entertaining. read more

I got to this hotel late and was looking for a meal to hold me over since I missed dinner.
